It seems ironic - to say the least - that a new umbrella opposition organisation founded in "Zimbabwe" should be calling itself the "Save Zimbabwe Campaign".
Our own movement, of course, can trace its roots back to the days of the "Save Rhodesia Campaign", which was founded in Cape Town during early 1977 and which lasted until the day after the disastrous Rhodesian constitutional referendum of 30th January 1979, when the organisation metamorphosised itself into the "South Africa First Campaign". In spite of its short lifespan and the fact that it was eventually unsuccessful in its basic aim, the SRC managed to generate great support and publicity both within South Africa itself and around the Western world, and was unambiguous in its warnings to the Rhodesian people of what would befall them if they were to surrender to "Zimbabwean" terrorism.
One of our more affable, albeit extremely naive, colleagues at that time was a Dutchman named Martin Gipon, who incredibly suggested that rather than becoming the "South Africa First Campaign" the organisation should change its name to the "Save Zimbabwe Campaign" - seemingly being too simple-minded to comprehend that it was the very CONCEPT of "Zimbabwe" which we opposed, and that if anything it would have been more logical to rename ourselves the "Smash Zimbabwe Campaign"!
Although it sickeningly took the outside world 20 or so years to recognise the true evils of Mugabe's ZANU-PF rule, all the disasters which the SRC predicted way back in the late 1970s came to fruition very shortly after the capitulation to ZANU-PF terrorist rule - just as we accurately predicted the anti-White genocide campaign and the total breakdown in all the infrastructures of state if South African Whites were similarly stupidly to capitulate to ANC terrorist rule.
Much though we might sympathise with those behind today's "Save Zimbabwe Campaign" we fear that their chances of success in the short-term are extremely negligible, and that Mugabe's terrorist thugs will have to destroy the country even more completely before there will be any chance of outside intervention and salvation. Their basic problem, of course, is the fact that they still cling to the name of "Zimbabwe" - a term which will ALWAYS be associated with Mugabe's tyranny and ZANU-PF terrorism. Is it any wonder therefore that the overseas powers-that-be are currently reluctant to intervene on their behalf?
When the eventual total collapse does come about and a new generation White pioneers arrive to pick up the pieces, then the Rhodesian nation will be re-born - in practice if not in name. The spirit of this revived Rhodesian nation will furthermore be the salvation of ALL races, not only the dispossessed Whites, but also those poor average Blacks who have suffered so appallingly under the entity of "Zimbabwe".

Mr. Danes has undertaken extensive research into BBC and other media bias, as well as other related aspects of the Blair Government and the effects of immigration. He gave a most concise and captivating talk in which he detailed many of the statistics which his research had uncovered, and also distributed copies of his famous "fact sheets" which analyse his findings in an easy-to-read format. Michael Shrimpton was born in 1957 and is a barrister by profession, having been called to the Bar by Gray's Inn at Michaelmas 1983. He is a specialist in national security and constitutional law, and is also a leading strategic intelligence and counter-terrorism consultant. He is Adjunct Professor of Intelligence Studies at the Department of National Security, Intelligence and Space Studies of the American Military University, teaching intelligence subjects at masters degree level to, inter alia, serving intelligence officers. He advised the late Gen. Pinochet Ugarté following his illegal arrest in London during 1998, and negotiated national security aspects of the Pinochet case with leading American national security officials. He was lead council in the "Metric Martyrs" test case of 2000/2002. He has represented US and Israeli intelligence officers and briefed staffers on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Joint Congressional inquiry into 9/11, and has visited the Golan Heights and the West Bank. He has also actively assisted Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies in the Global War on Terror, and was instrumental in exposing the notorious Abu Ghraib "hood" photo as a fake. He advised a number of hereditary peers during their battle against exclusion from Parliament, led the fight to save Rolls-Royce Motor Cars from German ownership, and is Intelligence Consultant to the BBC TV Spooks series. He was formerly Co-Chairman of the Bruges Group, and is a member of the Royal United Services Institute, the Royal Institute of International Affairs and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Bomber Command Association and a keen member of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club and Bentley Drivers Club and of Middlesex C.C.C.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
In mid-April the SC/ELC anticipates welcoming a leading official from a respected South African ex-serviceman's organisation as guest speaker.
During May the SC/ELC will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle in order to stage two events commemorating highly significant anniversaries. On 1st May there will be a celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the Act of Union, at which leading Unionists from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales will give brief key-note talks about why the Union is so important to them. On Wednesday 23rd May a joint meeting will be held to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Victory in the Falklands War, at which the Guest Speaker will be Mr. Peter Pepper of the Falkland Islands Association.
In late May the SC/ELC will be staging their traditional annual Empire Day celebrations, at which it is anticipated that a leading colonial figure from Hong Kong will be Guest of Honour.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC BRANCH NEWS
Details of the 2007 AGM of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club are as follows :-

Venue : Finvoy Orange Hall, Finvoy Road, Ballymoney, Co.Antrim (the Finvoy Road runs between Ballymoney and Rasharkin, the Orange Hall is located almost at the half way point in the road, beside a small petrol garage and lay-by).
The Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC of course experienced some minor difficulties last year, all of which now seem to have been happily overcome. Unfortunately, however, the current Chairman and stalwart of the Branch, Pastor Nigel Owens, will be taking up a three-year overseas teaching appointment in mid-year, so therefore needs to hand over the Chairmanship of the Branch to reliable hands at this AGM. In view of these two factors we would like to encourage all members and supporters in Northern Ireland to make every effort to attend this important meeting, and that anyone who is able and willing to stand for office will do their best to support Nigel in this respect. LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to be addressed by Ms. Lindsay Jenkins (the famed investigative author and journalist) in February. Ms. Jenkins gave a most informative talk in which she outlined the threat posed to the sovereignty of the UK by the sinister EU schemes of regionalisation. She ended though on a far more optimistic note by explaining how by increasingly overstretching itself the EU had potentially sewn the seeds of its own destruction.

She was formerly the official Shadow Cabinet spokesperson for agriculture, but was shockingly dismissed from this position after telling an innocuous joke which the then Conservative leadership considered "politically incorrect". The themes of her address will be the overbearing effects of the "nanny state" and the financial implications of continuing membership of the EU.

FORTHCOMING NEW BRITAIN EVENTS
The New Britain party will be staging two highly significant events during May.
On Wednesday 9th May (so-called "Europe Day") New Britain will be organising a march down Whitehall stopping off to hand a letter to 10 Downing Street demanding a referendum as to whether the UK should leave the European Union, and pointing out that the auditors have refused to sign off the EU accounts for a number of years. The march will then go on to the European Union's UK office in Queen Anne's Gate to hand in a letter similar to the one handed in at Downing Street. The march assembles in Whitehall Place at 13.30 hrs and moves off down Whitehall at 14.00 hrs sharp.
On Tuesday 22nd May, with the approval of Lady Goldsmith, New Britain will be holding their first Goldsmith Lecture in memory of Sir James Goldsmith. This will take place at the Sir Ambrose Fleming Lecture Hall, University College London, commencing at 19.00 hrs, and the speakers will be the Rt. Hon. Lord Tebbit CH and Professor Stephen Bush of Manchester University, with the meeting being chaired by Mr. Dennis Delderfield, the National Chairman of New Britain. LATEST NEWS FROM AGRICAFRICA
The first tribunal hearing of the Dutch Farmers Association (DFA) and their associates AgricAfrica Ltd (AA) in the ICSID cases against the Government of Zimbabwe (GOZ) was convened on 15th December 2006 in Paris with the three approved arbitrators and legal teams comprising:
Judge Gilbert Guillaume - a former President of the International Court of Justice and is a designee of the Government of France to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators.
Dean Ron Cass - a notable legal man and a citizen of the USA.
Mohammad Zafar - the Minister of Justice of Pakistan.
Ucheeora Onwuamaegbu - Secretary to the tribunal.
The Dutch Farmers Association, the Claimants - Charles Verrill and Matthew Coleman.
The Government of Zimbabwe (GOZ) - Mrs Mabiza, responsible for civil litigation in Zimbabwe, Mrs Mandinika, Ministry of Lands responsible for land reform in Zimbabwe, Mr Hove, from Foreign Affairs Zimbabwe based in the Paris Embassy, Mr Mugaviri, from Foreign Affairs based in the Paris Embassy.
The DFA AA Legal team reported that the hearing dealt with all the case management issues and the following dates were agreed to by the parties:
16 March 2007 - The Memorial to be filed by the Dutch together with their evidence
15 June 2007 - The Counter Memorial to be filed by Zimbabwe together with their evidence
14 August 2007 - A reply to be filed by the Dutch
12 October 2007 - The Rejoinder to be filed by Zimbabwe.
29 October 2007 - The substantive hearing will start and will probably run for 3 days.
FUNDING FOR THE DFA CASES
AgricAfrica has successfully raised the funds required to finance the DFA’s share of the substantial costs of this ICSID case. Funding has partly been raised from OSISA (Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa) a George Soros foundation and the balance from the members of AgricAfrica. Open society is essentially an ethos to entrench human rights and democratic openness, as well as to foster the accountability of those who hold and exercise power in public domains.

"I have been told that the court case of the Hollanders was cancelled due to the fact that the Zimbabwe contingent could not get a visa. Is this the fact?"
The DFA AA Legal Team responded as follows:
"There is NO truth whatsoever in this. The Zimbabwean officials will be given visas to travel with the help of ICSID and as provided for in the Washington Convention"

REMEMBER THE THAMES WHALE
Last year at this time, a northern bottlenose whale that strayed into the River Thames died despite a remarkable rescue effort involving International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) staff.
The media coverage in central London was unprecedented and an estimated 20 million people watched the rescue efforts around the world. But despite such international exposure, the situation for the world’s whales is now even worse than it was the day this unexpected visitor entered our hearts a year ago.
Last June, the pro-whaling nations secured a victory at the International Whaling Commission meeting – holding a simple majority for the first time in decades, and then in October the Iceland government announced its plans to resume commercial whaling, targeting endangered fin whales.
The UK government is against whaling, but its efforts must be stepped up in order to ensure that whalers do not continue their cruel slaughter of these incredible animals. Please e-mail your MP and ask them to meet with the Environment Secretary, David Miliband MP, and the Foreign Secretary, Margaret Beckett MP. Tell them to urge the Secretaries to take immediate action to end whaling.
The threat to whales from hunting is extremely urgent. Many whale species have yet to recover from previous commercial whaling, and also face numerous other threats including pollution, ocean noise and ship strikes. Without your help, Japanese whalers will kill almost 1,000 whales this year, harpooning them and dragging them onto their factory ships to be processed for meat that virtually no one eats. Please take action in support of whales today.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
No.100 : Mr. ERNIE ARTHUR and family
Ernie Arthur served in the RAF during WWII and was seconded to a squadron of the SAAF. After WWII he worked in Chatham Dockyard and became actively involved with the patriotic movement in the UK. He emigrated to South Africa during the late 1970s, working initially at Simonstown Dockyard and briefly becoming active with the "South Africa First Campaign", before being transferred to the Atlas Aircraft Company in the Transvaal. Contact with him then alas ceased, and we are therefore uncertain whether he is still alive or not. He had two sons however, so we wonder whether anyone knows where they are now?

PEARL OF THE ORIENT
Sir,
The year 2007 will mark the 10th anniversary of the tragic and treasonous surrender of the Crown Colony of Hong Kong to the Communist dictatorship of the Peoples Republic of China, regardless of the fact that the island of Hong Kong and Kowloon had been ceded in perpetuity, and as the Communists disavowed almost everything to do with the old Imperial China it was hypocritical of them to lay claim to the New Territories. Politicians being politicians sold British interests down the river and duly deserve to have been hanged for it.
Nevertheless the Pearl of the Orient - Hong Kong - can be British again, with a government that deserves to be called British coming to an honourable agreement with a future Imperial Chinese government, not the gang of Communist tyrants.

DEATH OF A NATION
Sir,
I believe that South Africa in general is stuck without an idea to change things here, simply because we fail to understand the "political-route" is NOT the way to go but have no (peaceful) alternative for it. Most South Africans right now has been brain-washed by the ANC into "doing whatever the government fails you in yourself" ... and that is the worst thing that could have happened to us. Instead, we, as a nation, should only be focusing on one thing: "How to motivate Government to become effective and doing their job (that we are paying them for) properly."
If you allow me, I would just like to give you an example: the government constantly pleads with the nation to become "actively" involved in the fight against crime, right? So some of us went and erected satellite "police stations" within our suburbs. And what did the government do? They closed them down because the population is not allowed to prescribe to the police how to do their job. So the population decided to erect boomed gates, security controlled entrances and closed off streets in our suburbs to keep unwanted elements out. And what did the government do? They declared those measures "illegal" and forced us to take them down. So the population decided to support the long-existing Commando system, manned by ex-national servicemen from the previous regime, to patrol our rural areas and our suburbs. And what did the government do? They disbanded the Commando system. So the population decided to buy guns to protect ourselves from criminals. And what did the government do? They passed legislation that makes it next to impossible to get a new, legal gun licence.
This brings me to only one conclusion: the government doesn’t want the crime to stop. Firstly it generates billions of Rands in VAT on all crime-related expenses (preventative as well as in damage control), and it forms part of their strategy to drive away as many as possible White South Africans, or have them killed. (Look at our statistics: 18,000 victims died at the hands of criminals during the past 12 months. What nobody sees is this: 90% of victims are White, and 90% of perpetrators are Black). And as the cream of our nation departed, (and we lose high-income tax-payers) the government realized that it was going to take way too long to train and educate Black people to take the departed Whites' place. So what did they do? The approved a plan called BEE (commonly understood to mean Black Economic Empowerment). Well, let me tell you, only a handful of Black people benefited from BEE, which was never designed to benefit the Black masses, but only to “replace” the outgoing "White taxpayers" with "Black taxpayers" by forcing companies to employ Black people in top positions at top salaries. And the rest of this nation is too obtuse to see what is going on. The people that remain in this country deserves exactly what’s coming to them.

A nephew and niece of ours are in the UK at present. Both of them don't want to return to South Africa, and have submitted papers for Canada and are waiting for a favourable reply. Friends of ours have also left South Africa just before Xmas and are now in the Perth area. An old school friend of mine also moved to Australia in October. Other friends are in New Zealand and seem to be doing well. A cousin in Durban and a niece from Boksburg are also looking into the possibilities of coming to Canada. So a lot of people are on the move at the moment.

ROGUES GALLERY
Several years ago we established good and friendly contact with those behind a Washington DC-based expat South Africa newsletter with the strange name of "Juluka" (don't ask us what this means!). Some time later, however, they informed us that they had sold this newsletter to a new set of owners based in California, and a short while ago these new owners e-mailed to tell us that they had expanded the publication into full magazine format, and offered to send us some sample copies.
Needless to say, thinking that the magazine was still on the same patriotic pro-South African wavelength as our own movement, we gladly accepted this offer - but alas what we eventually received (issues from December 2006 and January 2007) proved sickening in the extreme, for quite obviously the new owners were being prepared to appease and kow-tow to the current ANC terrorist regime!
Not only were both editions festooned with images of the hated "underpants" flag of the ANC regime, but both also contained articles toadying to the terrorists which all patriotic South Africans must surely find highly offensive. In the December 2006 edition there appeared a "Message from 'our' [sic] Ambassador" (Barbara Masekela, the ANC regime's ambassador to the United States), and in the January 2007 edition there appeared articles praising the renaming of Jan Smuts Airport after a terrorist leader (written by a very sinister Durban-based journalist named Marlan Padayachee, who several years ago we were specifically warned to be extremely wary of) and a favourable review given to a film entitled "Catch the Fire" which was written by Shawn Slovo, the daughter of the evil terrorist godfather Joe Slovo!
Quite obviously therefore "Juluka" in its present format will appeal only to Quislings. It should be avoided like the plague!

February 2007 edition
2007 marks the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union, the 300th birthday of the nation where so many of us now reside - the United Kingdom. It is therefore one of the most significant dates in the nation's history, but surprisingly, and alarmingly, this highly important date seems to have been largely overlooked - although we hasten to add that the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club and the London Swinton Circle will be joining forces to stage a special joint meeting on 1st May, the exact 300th anniversary of the Act of Union coming into force.
Perhaps the ignoring of this epoch-marking date in the nation's history is not so surprising as far as the current "New" Labour administration is concerned - but why have so many other facets of British society chosen to overlook it also? The answer is perhaps worrying in the extreme. Over recent years (and we mean very recent years) pride and patriotism in the British Nation seems suddenly to have taken second place to regional "nationalisms". Support for regional "nationalist" parties such as the SNP and Plaid Cymru has been sporadic for the most part, as they have gained their support mainly from disgruntled "Old" Labour stalwarts, rather than from those who genuinely believe in the impractical and undesirable idea of the breaking up of such a successful Union. Of far more concern, however, has been the even more recent upsurge in the completely artificial idea of English "nationalism".
As we have argued in another forum recently, we believe that the main reason for this most disturbing state of affairs is the fact that in so many popular team sports the component parts of the British Nation (mainly for valid historical reasons) compete on an individual basis - unlike any other nation on earth. In one sport however - Rugby Union - there IS a united British team which competes on a regular basis, namely the British Lions. We firmly believe that this should be a blueprint for ALL British sporting sides competing in international competitions, and to comprise of players from not only the United Kingdom, but from the ENTIRE British Isles.
In this regard it has been most encouraging to note the recent clear decline in the original form of artificial regional "nationalism", namely Irish "nationalism", which has been most pleasingly illustrated by the playing of Rugby (and soon Soccer) internationals at that former citadel of GAA neanderthalism, Croke Park - and even more unifyingly by the emotional cheering after the playing of "God Save the Queen" by the mainly Irish crowd. How ironic therefore that at exactly the same time that Irish "nationalism" seems to be in decline (as is further illustrated by the fact that SF/IRA are now clearly on the backfoot, after being forced to recognise the Police Service of Northern Ireland), Scottish, Welsh and even ridiculously English "nationalisms" should appear to be on an increase.
It has recently been drawn to our notice, however, that a party which is trying to ape the SNP and Plaid Cymru in England - which goes under the name of "England's First Party" (or some similar syntactically-challenged title), and which most sickeningly evidently managed to win two council seats in immigrant-infected lower-working-class districts of Blackburn - has one "councillor" who is widely believed to be one-quarter Chinese, and another who has been exposed as being one-eighth Cameroonian. If this is what English "nationalism" is all about then you know where to stick it!

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC AGM
The 2007 AGM of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club held last month turned out to be a very successful event. After reports by both the Treasurer and Organiser the out-going Executive Committee were elected unopposed which consists of the following (official positions as decided upon at a subsequent ExCo meeting in brackets) :-

FEBRUARY SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC MEETING
Although it might seem strange, the February meeting of the SC/ELC will actually take place in early March for reasons beyond our control, and the details are as follows:-

[Brian Danes was born in Walthamstow, and was employed for four years at Stepney Council, mainly working on housing accounts, whilst at the same time studying for his accountancy qualifications. After completing his National Service in the RAF he worked as an employment consultant, eventually establishing his own very successful recruitment consultancy specialising in the accountancy profession, before taking early retirement during the early 1990s. He joined the Conservative Monday Club in 1969 - on the same evening as Harvey Proctor. During the 1979 General Election he assisted Harvey Proctor's successful campaign as Conservative Party candidate for the Basildon Constituency (which was previously regarded as an unwinnable seat for the Conservatives) by providing a considerable amount of research into council house sales and other related matters. From 1977 until 1982 he was Secretary of the triumphant "Abolish the GLC Campaign" working alongside the great Tom Benford, which proved that Livingstone could be beaten. Since 1995 he has been a steadfast monitor of the BBC for bias, and has become a leading campaigner for the abolition of the television licence fee. He is also the author of a number of well-researched and highly-acclaimed fact-sheets detailing statistics and information about the Blair Government, the effects of immigration, media bias and other overlooked political issues. Copies of several of these fact-sheets will be distributed during this meeting.]

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
On 26th March 2007 the Springbok Club/ELC will be addressed by Mr. Michael Shrimpton, the famed national security lawyer. Fuller details of this highly significant meeting will be detailed in next month's SCN.
In April the SC/ELC anticipates welcoming a leading official from a renowned South African ex-serviceman's organisation as guest speaker.
During May the SC/ELC will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle in order to stage two events commemorating highly significant anniversaries. On 1st May there will be a celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the Act of Union, at which leading Unionists from Scotland, England, [Northern] Ireland and Wales will give brief key-note talks about why the Union is so important to them. In mid-May a joint meeting will be held to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Victory in the Falklands War, where the Guest Speaker will be Mr. Peter Pepper of the Falkland Islands Association.
In late May the SC/ELC will be staging their traditional annual Empire Day celebrations, at which it is anticipated that a leading colonial figure from Hong Kong will be Guest of Honour.

The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC held a highly successful get-together in Herne Bay earlier this month, and it was decided that the Branch would aim to hold regular quarterly gatherings in future, probably in the Medway Towns area.

Unfortunately, however, the current Chairman and stalwart of the Branch, Pastor Nigel Owens, will be taking up a three-year overseas teaching appointment in mid-year, so therefore needs to hand over the Chairmanship of the Branch to reliable hands at this AGM. In view of these two factors we would like to encourage all members and supporters in Northern Ireland to make every effort to attend this important meeting, and that anyone who is able and willing to stand for office will do their best to support Nigel in this respect. LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to be addressed by David Davies MP (the newly-elected Conservative MP for Monmouth) earlier this month. There was a pleasingly large attendance at this event, and Mr. Davies gave a most interesting and wide-ranging talk in which he emphasised his commitment as a proud Welsh Unionist. He clearly positioned himself as a member of an encouragingly large group of younger Conservative MPs who are staunchly Unionist and firmly opposed to further EU entrapment, which gives great hope for the future.

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON ISLAM - SPEECH IN 1899!
Our good friend and supporter Nick Maine from Queensland, Australia, has recently forwarded us the following most profound comments made by Sir Winston Churchill way back in 1899. If only more political leaders today could speak out as strongly against this insidious threat to Western civilisation :-

WARNINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
We have recently received warnings from a number of friends and supporters in South Africa, particularly from Jan Lamprecht (who runs the excellent "Southern Africa in Crisis" web-site at www.AfricanCrisis.org), to be very wary of a currently discontinued web-site going under the title of "Crime Expo S.A." (CESA). By all accounts this site was run by an individual calling himself Neil Watson, although it has been established that his real name is actually Juan Duval Uys. Evidently "The Citizen" newspaper has been questioning the credibility of Watson/Uys and his financial dealings, and as a result a charge of fraud has been laid against him. "The Citizen" further claims to be in possession of bank deposit slips for cheques totalling thousands of Rands which were donated in order to enhance the crime-exposing web-site, but which actually found their way into the personal account of J.D.Uys. Even more sinister is the fact that it has been exposed that Uys is or was a leading official in the "Gay and Lesbian Alliance of South Africa".
For those who were active in the patriotic movement in South Africa during the late 1970s and early 1980s this whole sorry episode sparks a feeling of deja vu. During this period a certain Brendan Joseph Willmer was very active within a number of patriotic organisations in South Africa. Willmer was undoubtedly a hard-working and gifted organiser, and was probably totally authentic at heart in the patriotic sentiments which he espoused. Unfortunately, however, there was one thing which was more important to Brendan Joseph Willmer than the patriotic causes which he supported - namely the financial well-being of Brendan Joseph Willmer himself. Like Watson/Uys financial donations meant for the organisations which Willmer held office in mysteriously found their way into his own personal bank accounts, and when these misdemeanours were exposed by the media they caused great problems for the credibility of the organisations concerned. Willmer was also a none too discreet homosexual. Brendan Joseph Willmer of course died of AIDS at the end of 1999.

LATEST NEWS FROM AGRICAFRICA
The first hearing of the DUTCH FARMERS ASSOCIATION (DFA) and their associates AgricAfrica Ltd’s (AA) in the cases against the Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) was held on 15 December 2006 in Paris, and at this hearing the tribunal of three arbitrators dealt with the following case management issues :-
Will propose provisional dates for the Substantive Hearing
Will set a timetable for the parties to present their written cases and
Will propose provisional dates for the presentation of the following: The Dutch memorial; Zimbabwe counter memorial (defence); The Dutch reply; Zimbabwe rejoinder; Finally the disclosure of documents and service of witness statements
At the Substantive Hearing the presentation of evidence and legal argument will be made by the legal representatives for the parties. The DFA and AA were represented at the hearing on 15 December and thereafter by their legal team of Charles Verrill Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP, Washington DC, and Matthew Coleman, AA’s London Solicitor. In the meantime the legal team wants to keep its powder dry and therefore more information will follow later as to when the first substantive hearing may occur, but the good news is that the process has now started and it is not stoppable.
Apparently a four-page list of names of farmers being offered compensation appeared in The Sunday Mail of 12th November 2006 (Harare) and again in The Herald of 16th November 2006 (Harare). These articles reflected the names of four officials in the Ministry of Lands, Land Reform and Resettlement and suggested that "former owners should contact them as a matter of urgency in connection with their compensation." AgricAfrica's International legal team suggests that as GoZ has not complied with the applicable legislation in assessing compensation and the notice published in the newspaper is invalid.

Frank, the proprietor of the mail-order book company "Thinkers Library" (we always promised to keep his full identity secret) was a good friend of "S.A.Patriot" during the 1980s, and indeed would help publicise the magazine by including back-copies when he mailed out orders. Some of the titles which Frank stocked caused some concern however, and he damaged his reputation even more by being associated with the controversial historian David Irving. Even so, however, he was always a very friendly and supportive colleague, and a number of old friends would like to know what has become of him.

FORGETTING THE PAST
Sir,
As I tried to explain to you many, many times... but you were too thick to understand: I am neither, nor have I ever been, politically left or right. I have little interest in politics, as I consider most politicians to be corrupt people who tell lies.
I most certainly did not make "a speaking tour of South Africa" with Gary Allen or anyone else. By pure coincidence — due to my passionate belief in Rhodesia — I was invited to speak by the Save Rhodesia Campaign in SA. There happened to be another speaker that same night named Gary Allen. I had never heard of him before and never had any contact with him after that night and have not the slightest interest in anything he did before or since. So, I most certainly never had what you untruthfully described as "a well-documented close involvement" with Allen... which only proves that you too tell libellous lies.
Equally certainly, Michael Hart-Jones and I did not form "a right-wing pressure group". I wrote a leaflet entitled "Rhodesia as it really is", of which 10 million copies were circulated in 42 countries. It was described by Peter Simple in his London Daily Telegraph column "Way of the World" as: "A drop of truth in an ocean of lies". Michael had no part in the writing or publication of this leaflet, which was done entirely by me. You are just one more person now contributing to that ocean of lies.
Stick to the truth and publish a retraction now or you will be hearing from my London solicitors, Harbottle & Lewis, where the senior partner, Robert Storer is a close, lifelong friend.

[Derek Partridge was a highly-respected RBC/RTV presenter during the mid-1970s, and subsequently became a good friend of the "Save Rhodesia Campaign/South Africa First Campaign". He did a tremendous amount of good work for the Rhodesian cause during the late-1970s, so we therefore remember him fondly and with great admiration from this period. It was therefore with extreme sadness and disbelief that we recently received this quite dumbfounding message from him, in which he astonishingly tries to deny his selfless efforts for the Rhodesian cause in the past. Even more incredibly, however, he seems to confirm the points which we made about his past activities in one part of this bizarre message, whilst calling them "libellous lies" in another! Derek Partridge spoke on the same "Save Rhodesia Campaign/South Africa First Campaign" platform as Gary Allen at the Durban City Hall on 15th February 1979 and at the Pietermaritzburg Town Hall on 16th February 1979 - and we still possess documented evidence to prove this (if any reader could provide evidence that he also spoke on the same platform as Gary Allen at other venues during this SRC/SAFC speaking tour of South Africa - as we believe - then we would be very pleased to learn details). Furthermore - as he himself admits - he wrote and produced two editions of an excellent pro-Rhodesian leaflet entitled "Rhodesia as it really is". Again we still possess copies of this leaflet, which Partridge actively encouraged branches of the SRC/SAFC (and of course there was probably no more right-wing organisation in South Africa at the time!) in both Cape Town and Durban to distribute - which needless to say they eagerly did! On the back page of the first edition of this pamphlet there is a large advert for what is clearly another facet of a pro-Rhodesian "pressure group", an organisation called "Women for Rhodesia", and on the back page of the second edition it is stated clearly "he [Partridge] wrote the original pamphlet in 1977, founded Women for Rhodesia to distribute it and became their first Chairman." We also still possess a copy of a publicity brochure for another clear facet of the evident "pressure group" which both Partridge and Michael Hart-Jones were involved with, the film-making company "Rhodesian International Productions" (who were aiming to produce a pro-Rhodesian documentary film also entitled "Rhodesia as it really is") which contains glowing cv's of both Partridge and Hart-Jones. Finally, if Derek Partridge is simply trying to claim that this indisputable "pressure group" which he was involved with was not "right-wing" then we are afraid that he has clearly confirmed this fact himself - not only by admitting that he spoke at least once on the platform of the right-wing "Save Rhodesia Campaign", but also by his open admission of contact with Peter Simple (Michael Wharton) of the "Daily Telegraph", as of course there was no more right-wing columnist working on Fleet Street at the time! In view of all this documented proof we therefore have no intention of publishing any "retraction" to the earlier comments which we made regarding Mr.Partridge's former pro-Rhodesian activities. - Ed.]

TOURIST FOLLY
Sir,
We had a beautiful passenger ship in Durban harbour last week. The tourists came ashore and 11 of them were mugged at knife and gunpoint on North Beach. All this in broad daylight. This is our main beachfront and supposed to be safe. There is a police station in the centre of this area yet not one policeman was in sight. Their comment was that it was just an "an unfortunate incident". Never mind that this sort of thing occurs on an almost daily basis.
Prior to this we had a world seminar and the delegates attending were mugged, stabbed etc on a daily basis. According to our local police once again it was the hotels' fault for not warning them!
The World Cup is going to prove rich pickings for the criminals running and ruining this country. The government is completely unconcerned and totally disinterested in what is happening. They waffle a few words on TV and in the newspapers every now and then, about what they are doing, and lie through their teeth about how crime is coming down. They give false statistics, and think we are all morons and believe them. The bottom line is they don't give a damn.
Could send you pages and pages of the horrific crimes we have to live with daily.

On the subject of terrorism, Jaco Strauss made some important points in his letter published in your December 2006 SCN. As a member of the British Conservative Party I felt very uncomfortable about David Cameron’s reported remarks concerning Nelson Mandela.
Jaco reminded us that on 20 May 1983 the ANC blew up 18 civilians through a car bomb explosion in Pretoria. Another reminder is that on 24 July 1964 John Harris, an anti-apartheid campaigner and close friend of the Hain family, planted a fatal bomb at Johannesburg train station. He confessed and was hanged for murder. Peter Hain read the eulogy at his funeral.
A little girl named Glynis Burleigh was injured in the blast. Her grandmother, born in Wales, was killed. Later, Glynis wrote to tell me the details. She said that while browsing the net she chanced to land on my website and liked the style. Of Peter Hain she said "It has often struck me as ironical that someone who has such close links to terrorism should have a standing in the present government".
The Guardian newspaper runs a feature called "My Story", for which people are invited to contribute a 1500-word account of some event in their lives. Thinking it might be good for their readers to have the true story of my successful private prosecution of Peter Hain for criminal conspiracy, I composed and sent in a piece. I realised it was not in keeping with their usual style of reporting, but I thought they might make an exception for once and print something that was not lefty liberal propaganda. It proved to be a vain hope of course.

February 2007 edition
2007 marks the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union, the 300th birthday of the nation where so many of us now reside - the United Kingdom. It is therefore one of the most significant dates in the nation's history, but surprisingly, and alarmingly, this highly important date seems to have been largely overlooked - although we hasten to add that the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club and the London Swinton Circle will be joining forces to stage a special joint meeting on 1st May, the exact 300th anniversary of the Act of Union coming into force.
Perhaps the ignoring of this epoch-marking date in the nation's history is not so surprising as far as the current "New" Labour administration is concerned - but why have so many other facets of British society chosen to overlook it also? The answer is perhaps worrying in the extreme. Over recent years (and we mean very recent years) pride and patriotism in the British Nation seems suddenly to have taken second place to regional "nationalisms". Support for regional "nationalist" parties such as the SNP and Plaid Cymru has been sporadic for the most part, as they have gained their support mainly from disgruntled "Old" Labour stalwarts, rather than from those who genuinely believe in the impractical and undesirable idea of the breaking up of such a successful Union. Of far more concern, however, has been the even more recent upsurge in the completely artificial idea of English "nationalism".
As we have argued in another forum recently, we believe that the main reason for this most disturbing state of affairs is the fact that in so many popular team sports the component parts of the British Nation (mainly for valid historical reasons) compete on an individual basis - unlike any other nation on earth. In one sport however - Rugby Union - there IS a united British team which competes on a regular basis, namely the British Lions. We firmly believe that this should be a blueprint for ALL British sporting sides competing in international competitions, and to comprise of players from not only the United Kingdom, but from the ENTIRE British Isles.
In this regard it has been most encouraging to note the recent clear decline in the original form of artificial regional "nationalism", namely Irish "nationalism", which has been most pleasingly illustrated by the playing of Rugby (and soon Soccer) internationals at that former citadel of GAA neanderthalism, Croke Park - and even more unifyingly by the emotional cheering after the playing of "God Save the Queen" by the mainly Irish crowd. How ironic therefore that at exactly the same time that Irish "nationalism" seems to be in decline (as is further illustrated by the fact that SF/IRA are now clearly on the backfoot, after being forced to recognise the Police Service of Northern Ireland), Scottish, Welsh and even ridiculously English "nationalisms" should appear to be on an increase.
It has recently been drawn to our notice, however, that a party which is trying to ape the SNP and Plaid Cymru in England - which goes under the name of "England's First Party" (or some similar syntactically-challenged title), and which most sickeningly evidently managed to win two council seats in immigrant-infected lower-working-class districts of Blackburn - has one "councillor" who is widely believed to be one-quarter Chinese, and another who has been exposed as being one-eighth Cameroonian. If this is what English "nationalism" is all about then you know where to stick it!

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC AGM
The 2007 AGM of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club held last month turned out to be a very successful event. After reports by both the Treasurer and Organiser the out-going Executive Committee were elected unopposed which consists of the following (official positions as decided upon at a subsequent ExCo meeting in brackets) :-

FEBRUARY SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC MEETING
Although it might seem strange, the February meeting of the SC/ELC will actually take place in early March for reasons beyond our control, and the details are as follows:-

[Brian Danes was born in Walthamstow, and was employed for four years at Stepney Council, mainly working on housing accounts, whilst at the same time studying for his accountancy qualifications. After completing his National Service in the RAF he worked as an employment consultant, eventually establishing his own very successful recruitment consultancy specialising in the accountancy profession, before taking early retirement during the early 1990s. He joined the Conservative Monday Club in 1969 - on the same evening as Harvey Proctor. During the 1979 General Election he assisted Harvey Proctor's successful campaign as Conservative Party candidate for the Basildon Constituency (which was previously regarded as an unwinnable seat for the Conservatives) by providing a considerable amount of research into council house sales and other related matters. From 1977 until 1982 he was Secretary of the triumphant "Abolish the GLC Campaign" working alongside the great Tom Benford, which proved that Livingstone could be beaten. Since 1995 he has been a steadfast monitor of the BBC for bias, and has become a leading campaigner for the abolition of the television licence fee. He is also the author of a number of well-researched and highly-acclaimed fact-sheets detailing statistics and information about the Blair Government, the effects of immigration, media bias and other overlooked political issues. Copies of several of these fact-sheets will be distributed during this meeting.]

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
On 26th March 2007 the Springbok Club/ELC will be addressed by Mr. Michael Shrimpton, the famed national security lawyer. Fuller details of this highly significant meeting will be detailed in next month's SCN.
In April the SC/ELC anticipates welcoming a leading official from a renowned South African ex-serviceman's organisation as guest speaker.
During May the SC/ELC will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle in order to stage two events commemorating highly significant anniversaries. On 1st May there will be a celebration of the 300th Anniversary of the Act of Union, at which leading Unionists from Scotland, England, [Northern] Ireland and Wales will give brief key-note talks about why the Union is so important to them. In mid-May a joint meeting will be held to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Victory in the Falklands War, where the Guest Speaker will be Mr. Peter Pepper of the Falkland Islands Association.
In late May the SC/ELC will be staging their traditional annual Empire Day celebrations, at which it is anticipated that a leading colonial figure from Hong Kong will be Guest of Honour.

In view of these two factors we would like to encourage all members and supporters in Northern Ireland to make every effort to attend this important meeting, and that anyone who is able and willing to stand for office will do their best to support Nigel in this respect. The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to be addressed by David Davies MP (the newly-elected Conservative MP for Monmouth) earlier this month. There was a pleasingly large attendance at this event, and Mr. Davies gave a most interesting and wide-ranging talk in which he emphasised his commitment as a proud Welsh Unionist. He clearly positioned himself as a member of an encouragingly large group of younger Conservative MPs who are staunchly Unionist and firmly opposed to further EU entrapment, which gives great hope for the future.

WINSTON CHURCHILL ON ISLAM - SPEECH IN 1899!
Our good friend and supporter Nick Maine from Queensland, Australia, has recently forwarded us the following most profound comments made by Sir Winston Churchill way back in 1899. If only more political leaders today could speak out as strongly against this insidious threat to Western civilisation :-

WARNINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
We have recently received warnings from a number of friends and supporters in South Africa, particularly from Jan Lamprecht (who runs the excellent "Southern Africa in Crisis" web-site at www.AfricanCrisis.org), to be very wary of a currently discontinued web-site going under the title of "Crime Expo S.A." (CESA). By all accounts this site was run by an individual calling himself Neil Watson, although it has been established that his real name is actually Juan Duval Uys. Evidently "The Citizen" newspaper has been questioning the credibility of Watson/Uys and his financial dealings, and as a result a charge of fraud has been laid against him. "The Citizen" further claims to be in possession of bank deposit slips for cheques totalling thousands of Rands which were donated in order to enhance the crime-exposing web-site, but which actually found their way into the personal account of J.D.Uys. Even more sinister is the fact that it has been exposed that Uys is or was a leading official in the "Gay and Lesbian Alliance of South Africa".
For those who were active in the patriotic movement in South Africa during the late 1970s and early 1980s this whole sorry episode sparks a feeling of deja vu. During this period a certain Brendan Joseph Willmer was very active within a number of patriotic organisations in South Africa. Willmer was undoubtedly a hard-working and gifted organiser, and was probably totally authentic at heart in the patriotic sentiments which he espoused. Unfortunately, however, there was one thing which was more important to Brendan Joseph Willmer than the patriotic causes which he supported - namely the financial well-being of Brendan Joseph Willmer himself. Like Watson/Uys financial donations meant for the organisations which Willmer held office in mysteriously found their way into his own personal bank accounts, and when these misdemeanours were exposed by the media they caused great problems for the credibility of the organisations concerned. Willmer was also a none too discreet homosexual. Brendan Joseph Willmer of course died of AIDS at the end of 1999.

LATEST NEWS FROM AGRICAFRICA
The first hearing of the DUTCH FARMERS ASSOCIATION (DFA) and their associates AgricAfrica Ltd’s (AA) in the cases against the Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) was held on 15 December 2006 in Paris, and at this hearing the tribunal of three arbitrators dealt with the following case management issues :-
Will propose provisional dates for the Substantive Hearing
Will set a timetable for the parties to present their written cases and
Will propose provisional dates for the presentation of the following: The Dutch memorial; Zimbabwe counter memorial (defence); The Dutch reply; Zimbabwe rejoinder; Finally the disclosure of documents and service of witness statements
At the Substantive Hearing the presentation of evidence and legal argument will be made by the legal representatives for the parties. The DFA and AA were represented at the hearing on 15 December and thereafter by their legal team of Charles Verrill Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP, Washington DC, and Matthew Coleman, AA’s London Solicitor. In the meantime the legal team wants to keep its powder dry and therefore more information will follow later as to when the first substantive hearing may occur, but the good news is that the process has now started and it is not stoppable.
Apparently a four-page list of names of farmers being offered compensation appeared in The Sunday Mail of 12th November 2006 (Harare) and again in The Herald of 16th November 2006 (Harare). These articles reflected the names of four officials in the Ministry of Lands, Land Reform and Resettlement and suggested that "former owners should contact them as a matter of urgency in connection with their compensation." AgricAfrica's International legal team suggests that as GoZ has not complied with the applicable legislation in assessing compensation and the notice published in the newspaper is invalid.

Frank, the proprietor of the mail-order book company "Thinkers Library" (we always promised to keep his full identity secret) was a good friend of "S.A.Patriot" during the 1980s, and indeed would help publicise the magazine by including back-copies when he mailed out orders. Some of the titles which Frank stocked caused some concern however, and he damaged his reputation even more by being associated with the controversial historian David Irving. Even so, however, he was always a very friendly and supportive colleague, and a number of old friends would like to know what has become of him.

FORGETTING THE PAST
Sir,
As I tried to explain to you many, many times... but you were too thick to understand: I am neither, nor have I ever been, politically left or right. I have little interest in politics, as I consider most politicians to be corrupt people who tell lies.
I most certainly did not make "a speaking tour of South Africa" with Gary Allen or anyone else. By pure coincidence — due to my passionate belief in Rhodesia — I was invited to speak by the Save Rhodesia Campaign in SA. There happened to be another speaker that same night named Gary Allen. I had never heard of him before and never had any contact with him after that night and have not the slightest interest in anything he did before or since. So, I most certainly never had what you untruthfully described as "a well-documented close involvement" with Allen... which only proves that you too tell libellous lies.
Equally certainly, Michael Hart-Jones and I did not form "a right-wing pressure group". I wrote a leaflet entitled "Rhodesia as it really is", of which 10 million copies were circulated in 42 countries. It was described by Peter Simple in his London Daily Telegraph column "Way of the World" as: "A drop of truth in an ocean of lies". Michael had no part in the writing or publication of this leaflet, which was done entirely by me. You are just one more person now contributing to that ocean of lies.
Stick to the truth and publish a retraction now or you will be hearing from my London solicitors, Harbottle & Lewis, where the senior partner, Robert Storer is a close, lifelong friend.

[Derek Partridge was a highly-respected RBC/RTV presenter during the mid-1970s, and subsequently became a good friend of the "Save Rhodesia Campaign/South Africa First Campaign". He did a tremendous amount of good work for the Rhodesian cause during the late-1970s, so we therefore remember him fondly and with great admiration from this period. It was therefore with extreme sadness and disbelief that we recently received this quite dumbfounding message from him, in which he astonishingly tries to deny his selfless efforts for the Rhodesian cause in the past. Even more incredibly, however, he seems to confirm the points which we made about his past activities in one part of this bizarre message, whilst calling them "libellous lies" in another! Derek Partridge spoke on the same "Save Rhodesia Campaign/South Africa First Campaign" platform as Gary Allen at the Durban City Hall on 15th February 1979 and at the Pietermaritzburg Town Hall on 16th February 1979 - and we still possess documented evidence to prove this (if any reader could provide evidence that he also spoke on the same platform as Gary Allen at other venues during this SRC/SAFC speaking tour of South Africa - as we believe - then we would be very pleased to learn details). Furthermore - as he himself admits - he wrote and produced two editions of an excellent pro-Rhodesian leaflet entitled "Rhodesia as it really is". Again we still possess copies of this leaflet, which Partridge actively encouraged branches of the SRC/SAFC (and of course there was probably no more right-wing organisation in South Africa at the time!) in both Cape Town and Durban to distribute - which needless to say they eagerly did! On the back page of the first edition of this pamphlet there is a large advert for what is clearly another facet of a pro-Rhodesian "pressure group", an organisation called "Women for Rhodesia", and on the back page of the second edition it is stated clearly "he [Partridge] wrote the original pamphlet in 1977, founded Women for Rhodesia to distribute it and became their first Chairman." We also still possess a copy of a publicity brochure for another clear facet of the evident "pressure group" which both Partridge and Michael Hart-Jones were involved with, the film-making company "Rhodesian International Productions" (who were aiming to produce a pro-Rhodesian documentary film also entitled "Rhodesia as it really is") which contains glowing cv's of both Partridge and Hart-Jones. Finally, if Derek Partridge is simply trying to claim that this indisputable "pressure group" which he was involved with was not "right-wing" then we are afraid that he has clearly confirmed this fact himself - not only by admitting that he spoke at least once on the platform of the right-wing "Save Rhodesia Campaign", but also by his open admission of contact with Peter Simple (Michael Wharton) of the "Daily Telegraph", as of course there was no more right-wing columnist working on Fleet Street at the time! In view of all this documented proof we therefore have no intention of publishing any "retraction" to the earlier comments which we made regarding Mr.Partridge's former pro-Rhodesian activities. - Ed.]

TOURIST FOLLY
Sir,
We had a beautiful passenger ship in Durban harbour last week. The tourists came ashore and 11 of them were mugged at knife and gunpoint on North Beach. All this in broad daylight. This is our main beachfront and supposed to be safe. There is a police station in the centre of this area yet not one policeman was in sight. Their comment was that it was just an "an unfortunate incident". Never mind that this sort of thing occurs on an almost daily basis.
Prior to this we had a world seminar and the delegates attending were mugged, stabbed etc on a daily basis. According to our local police once again it was the hotels' fault for not warning them!
The World Cup is going to prove rich pickings for the criminals running and ruining this country. The government is completely unconcerned and totally disinterested in what is happening. They waffle a few words on TV and in the newspapers every now and then, about what they are doing, and lie through their teeth about how crime is coming down. They give false statistics, and think we are all morons and believe them. The bottom line is they don't give a damn.
Could send you pages and pages of the horrific crimes we have to live with daily.

LEST WE FORGET

On the subject of terrorism, Jaco Strauss made some important points in his letter published in your December 2006 SCN. As a member of the British Conservative Party I felt very uncomfortable about David Cameron’s reported remarks concerning Nelson Mandela.
Jaco reminded us that on 20 May 1983 the ANC blew up 18 civilians through a car bomb explosion in Pretoria. Another reminder is that on 24 July 1964 John Harris, an anti-apartheid campaigner and close friend of the Hain family, planted a fatal bomb at Johannesburg train station. He confessed and was hanged for murder. Peter Hain read the eulogy at his funeral.
A little girl named Glynis Burleigh was injured in the blast. Her grandmother, born in Wales, was killed. Later, Glynis wrote to tell me the details. She said that while browsing the net she chanced to land on my website and liked the style. Of Peter Hain she said "It has often struck me as ironical that someone who has such close links to terrorism should have a standing in the present government".
The Guardian newspaper runs a feature called "My Story", for which people are invited to contribute a 1500-word account of some event in their lives. Thinking it might be good for their readers to have the true story of my successful private prosecution of Peter Hain for criminal conspiracy, I composed and sent in a piece. I realised it was not in keeping with their usual style of reporting, but I thought they might make an exception for once and print something that was not lefty liberal propaganda. It proved to be a vain hope of course.

The execution of the monster Saddam Hussein at the end of 2006 undoubtedly made the world a far better place. Regardless of whether or not one supports the death penalty in principle (though most members of our movement certainly seem to believe that the death penalty is both necessary and morally justifiable) few can mourn the demise of the evil mass-murderer Saddam Hussein, who through his quest to develop Weapons of Mass Destruction threatened us all.
Shortly after hearing the pleasing news of his execution one of our supporters texted to say that for 2007 he hoped "Mandela [would be] hanged a la Saddam". Although we can of course sympathise with these sentiments, the fact remains that the convicted terrorist Mandela is now a senile wreck who has long since done his worst. What we would say, however, is that had he been sentenced to death after being found guilty of planning terrorism in 1964, rather than merely being sentenced to life imprisonment (the death penalty was then still on the South African statute book), then a lot of innocent people (of all races) would not have died during his despotic period of power from 1994 to 1999.
Mandela may happily have drifted from power, but there are still plenty of equally evil tyrants in power throughout the so-called third world. Be think immediately of Ahmadinejad of Iran and Chavez of Venezuela of course, but our main concern still remains Africa, and Southern Africa in particular - and here there is surely no more evil unreconstructed terrorist killer still in power than Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
It is therefore our main hope for 2007 that not only will Mugabe be swept from power, but also that he receives the same fate as Saddam Hussein. The world will then be an even better place to live in.

SPRINGBOK CLUB DAY OF THE VOW COMMEMORATIONS
The Springbok Club's annual Day of the Vow commemorations in December proved to be a most successful event, although the numbers in attendance were perhaps a little lower than had been hoped and expected. Proceeding commenced with appropriate opening devotions conducted by the Rev. David Braid, and were followed by some excellent musical entertainment from Mr. Robin Willow. As alas the planned guest speaker was still out of the country at the time, Mr. Peter King (a member of the Executive Committee of the Springbok Club/ELC, and a leading light in the rejuvenated London Branch of the organisation) stepped into the breach at short notice and gave a most well-researched and captivating talk on the history of the Afrikaner people, and the Battle of Blood River in particular. We are grateful to all three of these gentlemen for their great help and support in making this event such an encouraging success - and also to the management of the venue where this function was held who not only provided such a succulent array of buffet snacks, but who also went out of their way to assist us in other respects.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
The 2007 AGM of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club will take place on Tuesday 23rd January. Only fully paid-up members of the SC/ELC will be allowed to attend the business side of this meeting (which will commence sharply at 19.00 hrs), and only Life, Honorary and Full Members will be entitled to vote or to stand for office. All fully paid-up members of the organisation should have been officially notified of the precise details by now, but if any member still hasn't received such notification please e-mail springbok@falklands.org. Following the business side of the AGM the meeting will be addressed by Mr. Michael McGough, the Chairman of the City of London Branch of the Freedom Association and a member of the National Council of that organisation, who will give a brief talk about the Freedom Association's history, aims and objectives. Any supporter who wishes to attend this phase of the meeting (which will commence at approx. 20.00 hrs) should again e-mail springbok@falklands.org in order to obtain further details.
In February 2007 the Springbok Club/ELC anticipates welcoming a leading national security lawyer as guest speaker, and in March 2007 the SC/ELC will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle to stage the first of three joint meetings planned for this year. The following two joint meetings will be held in April, to mark the 25th anniversary of victory in the Falklands War, and in May to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the First Act of Union. The SC/ELC will be holding its traditional Empire Day celebrations later on during May (at which it is anticipated that a leading colonial figure from Hong Kong will be guest of honour), and it is still expected that the famous South African journalist who was originally expected to address last December's Day of the Vow events will now address the organisation later during 2007.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC BRANCH NEWS
Details of the 2007 AGM of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club are as follows :-
Date : Saturday 31st March 2007
Time : 10.30 hrs for 11.00 hrs
Venue : Finvoy Orange Hall, Finvoy Road, Ballymoney, Co.Antrim (the Finvoy Road runs between Ballymoney and Rasharkin, the Orange Hall is located almost at the half way point in the road, beside a small petrol garage and lay-by).
The Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC of course experienced some minor difficulties last year, all of which now happily appear to have been successfully overcome. Unfortunately, however, the current Chairman and stalwart of the branch, Pastor Nigel Owens, will be taking up a three-year overseas teaching appointment in May, so therefore needs to hand over the Chairmanship of the branch to reliable hands at this AGM. In view of these two factors we would like to encourage all members and supporters in Northern Ireland to make every effort to attend this important meeting, and that anyone who is able and willing to stand for office will do their best to support Nigel in this respect. The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC will be holding an informal social gathering during February, probably in the Medway Towns area. Fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.
It is anticipated that the next activity to be staged by the London Branch of the SC/ELC will be a meeting addressed by a well-known personality in March.
We are hopeful that the dormant Chilterns, Hampshire and Lancashire branches of the SC/ELC will all be revitalised with new branch structures very shortly, and that new branches in Sussex/Surrey and Essex will also be established soon. LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
Details of the LSC meeting to be addressed by Mr. David Davies MP, the Conservative MP for Monmouth, have still to be finalised, but is anticipated to take place in late January or early February. More precise details will be notified in due course.
We are very sad to have to report that Mr. Sean Pearson has recently decided to resign as Chairman of the LSC, though happily he aims to continue an active involvement in other ways. Although even his best friends would probably tell Sean that he did not prove to be the strongest of Chairmen, he even so proved a most sincere and reliable holder of the office. We wish him well for the future, and trust that he will continue to play an active role in the broader movement in the days ahead.

NEW BRITAIN'S AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND DAY CELEBRATIONS
As they have been doing for several years, the New Britain party will again be holding special celebrations to mark Australia and New Zealand Days later this month. This event will take place on Saturday 27th January, assembling at the statue of Admiral Arthur Philip (the founder of Sydney) in Watling Street at the rear of St.Paul's Cathedral at 14.00 hrs (though many people taking part in these celebrations will be lunching in the Crypt of St.Paul's Cathedral beforehand). Following the laying of a wreath at the statue of Admiral Philip (who was born in the City of London) a short march will take place to St.Olave's Hall in Mark Lane, where a special reception will take place, at which the guest of honour will be Sir Michael Savoury, the Lord Mayor of London in 2005. At this reception special messages of greetings and support to be sent to the Prime Ministers of both Australia and New Zealand will be on display for signing by all those in attendance. We have recently been sent the text of some most encouraging comments recently made by Australian Prime Minister John Howard :-
Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! Most Australians believe in God. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'. MORE SICKENING REPORTS OF SEAL SLAUGHTER IN "NAMIBIA"
A group of local and international journalists have witnessed the killing of seal pups at Cape Cross on Namibia's northern coast, the Namibian Press Agency has reported. Invited by the director of resource management in the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Burger Oelofsen, the group arrived at the seal colony one morning to watch the culling of 296 pups by the concession holders, Seal Products. Eighteen of Seal Products's employees herded the seals into groups of 20 to 40 along a narrow pathway, where the pups were clubbed and the adults allowed to return to the ocean. After being clubbed, the pups were stabbed with long knives through the heart to ensure that they were completely dead, Nampa said.
...... but in 2006 this is surely no longer justified. As Namibia's 2006 baby seal slaughter draws to an end on November 15th the question remains, will this just begin again the following year? To visiting journalists 'the controlled show' might have seemed somehow acceptable - that 296 baby pups were separated from their mothers and 'orderly clubbed' to death in one morning. But then this was just one show-day, the reality is something entirely different. Three sealing concession holders send in over 40 club-welding sealers every morning into two mainland seal colonies, which consists of 75% of the population. Each day they will smash their way through 600 to 1000 baby seals, causing the entire seal colony to flee to the safety of the sea, and return the next day, and the next, until their 85,000 baby seal pup quota is reached or, as has been happening since 1990, there is not a single baby seal pup left to club to death. This can take anything between 85 and 150 days. Whilst sealers earn just R15 (USD $2) per slaughtered pup, Seal Alert-SA is forced to pay thousands of Rand in the hope of saving some of these innocent victims of today's sick Southern African society. Whilst the world screams global warming - sealers and baby seals, scream KILL, KILL.

It truly is too horrific for me to post to you, a website with stories and photos of how the Whites are being murdered in the most horrific way. It highlights the fact that the famous liberal White South Africans who advocated Black majority rule now live in any other country except South Africa. Yes, those White South African liberal-types who wanted Black rule now live in Britain, New Zealand and Australia.

STRANGE EVENTS DOWN UNDER
Whilst still based in South Africa our movement seemed to enjoy good fraternal relations with a group of apparent Australian patriots called "Australian National Action", particularly with one of their leading members who had the unusual name of Jim Saleam. Accepting their bona fides that they shared our own pro-White and pro-Western policies we exchanged publications, and indeed published a number of articles written by ANA members in the pages of S.A.Patriot (though in retrospect perhaps we should have read one particular article a little more carefully before publishing it).
Following our forced relocation to the UK contact with ANA seemed to cease, but in 2001 we were able to re-make contact with Jim Saleam via the Internet. Shortly after this, however, we were warned by the erstwhile Australian Co-ordinator of the Springbok Club to be somewhat wary of Mr. Saleam. It did not take us long to discover the reason for this, for Mr. Saleam himself subsequently admitted that he had served four years imprisonment for a shotgun offence (though to be fair, he denied all involvement in this incident).
More suspicions concerning Mr. Saleam soon followed however. Firstly he made reference to an entire "alphabet soup" of initials of alleged UK political organisations, some of which referred to completely "off the edge" outfits which we wouldn't touch with a bargepole, but others which we had never heard of - and indeed still haven't heard of from any other source to this day! Secondly, and far more disturbingly, he revealed that in spite of still claiming to be "opposed to Moslem immigration to our societies" (and indeed signing off with the phrase "with best wishes to all South Africa expats") he then went on to state that he opposed the West's War against Terrorism in Iraq - using the classic ultra-leftist phraseology of "the criminal invasion of Iraq" to describe it! Subsequent e-mail correspondence revealed that not only did Mr. Saleam hold the totally ambiguous opinions of opposing Islamic expansionism in one part of the globe (Australia) yet apparently supporting it in another (Iraq), but that furthermore he seemed completely incapable of grasping the total logical inconsistency of such hypocrisy! At this stage we thought it best to drop all contact with the confused Mr. Saleam.
A few months ago, however, we received information about a so-called "6th Sydney Forum", which was apparently being organised by Mr. Saleam. Although many of the speeches advertised for this "Forum" were those which we could fully identify with (regarding Australia's immigration problems and the curse of "political correctness"), others showed that Mr. Saleam was still apparently suffering from acute political schizophrenia. Not only was he due to speak himself under the sickening theme of "Imperialism, Zionism and The Criminal War Against Iraq" (no, we're not making this up!), but the main speaker was announced to be Tamman Sulaiman, the Syrian Ambassador to Australia - and don't forget that Syria is a fully paid-up associate member of the Axis of Evil!!!
What is the cause of Mr. Saleam's total ambiguity of apparently supporting Australia's struggle to maintain its Western identity in one breath, yet opposing the Western struggle to counteract Islamic fundamentalism in another area of the globe in the next breath? A clue probably lies in Mr. Saleam's own identity, for, as his unusual surname may suggest, he is - er - actually of Lebanese origin. One part of the poor fellow therefore apparently identifies with his Australian background where he lives, yet another part of him still sides with his Arab ancestry. If ever there was a good concrete example to demonstrate the problems caused by miscegenation and multi-culturalism then surely this is it!

January 2007 edition
The execution of the monster Saddam Hussein at the end of 2006 undoubtedly made the world a far better place. Regardless of whether or not one supports the death penalty in principle (though most members of our movement certainly seem to believe that the death penalty is both necessary and morally justifiable) few can mourn the demise of the evil mass-murderer Saddam Hussein, who through his quest to develop Weapons of Mass Destruction threatened us all.
Shortly after hearing the pleasing news of his execution one of our supporters texted to say that for 2007 he hoped "Mandela [would be] hanged a la Saddam". Although we can of course sympathise with these sentiments, the fact remains that the convicted terrorist Mandela is now a senile wreck who has long since done his worst. What we would say, however, is that had he been sentenced to death after being found guilty of planning terrorism in 1964, rather than merely being sentenced to life imprisonment (the death penalty was then still on the South African statute book), then a lot of innocent people (of all races) would not have died during his despotic period of power from 1994 to 1999.
Mandela may happily have drifted from power, but there are still plenty of equally evil tyrants in power throughout the so-called third world. Be think immediately of Ahmadinejad of Iran and Chavez of Venezuela of course, but our main concern still remains Africa, and Southern Africa in particular - and here there is surely no more evil unreconstructed terrorist killer still in power than Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
It is therefore our main hope for 2007 that not only will Mugabe be swept from power, but also that he receives the same fate as Saddam Hussein. The world will then be an even better place to live in.

SPRINGBOK CLUB DAY OF THE VOW COMMEMORATIONS
The Springbok Club's annual Day of the Vow commemorations in December proved to be a most successful event, although the numbers in attendance were perhaps a little lower than had been hoped and expected. Proceeding commenced with appropriate opening devotions conducted by the Rev. David Braid, and were followed by some excellent musical entertainment from Mr. Robin Willow. As alas the planned guest speaker was still out of the country at the time, Mr. Peter King (a member of the Executive Committee of the Springbok Club/ELC, and a leading light in the rejuvenated London Branch of the organisation) stepped into the breach at short notice and gave a most well-researched and captivating talk on the history of the Afrikaner people, and the Battle of Blood River in particular. We are grateful to all three of these gentlemen for their great help and support in making this event such an encouraging success - and also to the management of the venue where this function was held who not only provided such a succulent array of buffet snacks, but who also went out of their way to assist us in other respects.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
The 2007 AGM of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club will take place on Tuesday 23rd January. Only fully paid-up members of the SC/ELC will be allowed to attend the business side of this meeting (which will commence sharply at 19.00 hrs), and only Life, Honorary and Full Members will be entitled to vote or to stand for office. All fully paid-up members of the organisation should have been officially notified of the precise details by now, but if any member still hasn't received such notification please e-mail springbok@falklands.org. Following the business side of the AGM the meeting will be addressed by Mr. Michael McGough, the Chairman of the City of London Branch of the Freedom Association and a member of the National Council of that organisation, who will give a brief talk about the Freedom Association's history, aims and objectives. Any supporter who wishes to attend this phase of the meeting (which will commence at approx. 20.00 hrs) should again e-mail springbok@falklands.org in order to obtain further details.
In February 2007 the Springbok Club/ELC anticipates welcoming a leading national security lawyer as guest speaker, and in March 2007 the SC/ELC will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle to stage the first of three joint meetings planned for this year. The following two joint meetings will be held in April, to mark the 25th anniversary of victory in the Falklands War, and in May to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the First Act of Union. The SC/ELC will be holding its traditional Empire Day celebrations later on during May (at which it is anticipated that a leading colonial figure from Hong Kong will be guest of honour), and it is still expected that the famous South African journalist who was originally expected to address last December's Day of the Vow events will now address the organisation later during 2007.

The Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC of course experienced some minor difficulties last year, all of which now happily appear to have been successfully overcome. Unfortunately, however, the current Chairman and stalwart of the branch, Pastor Nigel Owens, will be taking up a three-year overseas teaching appointment in May, so therefore needs to hand over the Chairmanship of the branch to reliable hands at this AGM. LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
Details of the LSC meeting to be addressed by Mr. David Davies MP, the Conservative MP for Monmouth, have still to be finalised, but is anticipated to take place in late January or early February. More precise details will be notified in due course.
We are very sad to have to report that Mr. Sean Pearson has recently decided to resign as Chairman of the LSC, though happily he aims to continue an active involvement in other ways. Although even his best friends would probably tell Sean that he did not prove to be the strongest of Chairmen, he even so proved a most sincere and reliable holder of the office. We wish him well for the future, and trust that he will continue to play an active role in the broader movement in the days ahead.

NEW BRITAIN'S AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND DAY CELEBRATIONS
As they have been doing for several years, the New Britain party will again be holding special celebrations to mark Australia and New Zealand Days later this month. This event will take place on Saturday 27th January, assembling at the statue of Admiral Arthur Philip (the founder of Sydney) in Watling Street at the rear of St.Paul's Cathedral at 14.00 hrs (though many people taking part in these celebrations will be lunching in the Crypt of St.Paul's Cathedral beforehand). Following the laying of a wreath at the statue of Admiral Philip (who was born in the City of London) a short march will take place to St.Olave's Hall in Mark Lane, where a special reception will take place, at which the guest of honour will be Sir Michael Savoury, the Lord Mayor of London in 2005. At this reception special messages of greetings and support to be sent to the Prime Ministers of both Australia and New Zealand will be on display for signing by all those in attendance. Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right-wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like 'A Fair Go', then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others. This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'. If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."

MORE SICKENING REPORTS OF SEAL SLAUGHTER IN "NAMIBIA"
A group of local and international journalists have witnessed the killing of seal pups at Cape Cross on Namibia's northern coast, the Namibian Press Agency has reported. Invited by the director of resource management in the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Burger Oelofsen, the group arrived at the seal colony one morning to watch the culling of 296 pups by the concession holders, Seal Products. Eighteen of Seal Products's employees herded the seals into groups of 20 to 40 along a narrow pathway, where the pups were clubbed and the adults allowed to return to the ocean. After being clubbed, the pups were stabbed with long knives through the heart to ensure that they were completely dead, Nampa said.
...... but in 2006 this is surely no longer justified. As Namibia's 2006 baby seal slaughter draws to an end on November 15th the question remains, will this just begin again the following year? To visiting journalists 'the controlled show' might have seemed somehow acceptable - that 296 baby pups were separated from their mothers and 'orderly clubbed' to death in one morning. But then this was just one show-day, the reality is something entirely different. Three sealing concession holders send in over 40 club-welding sealers every morning into two mainland seal colonies, which consists of 75% of the population. Each day they will smash their way through 600 to 1000 baby seals, causing the entire seal colony to flee to the safety of the sea, and return the next day, and the next, until their 85,000 baby seal pup quota is reached or, as has been happening since 1990, there is not a single baby seal pup left to club to death. This can take anything between 85 and 150 days. Whilst sealers earn just R15 (USD $2) per slaughtered pup, Seal Alert-SA is forced to pay thousands of Rand in the hope of saving some of these innocent victims of today's sick Southern African society. Whilst the world screams global warming - sealers and baby seals, scream KILL, KILL.

I have observed in horror as the world's biggest terrorist Nelson Mandela has been lauded as the country disintegrates into a bloody violent lawless mess. There is a website set up to warn the world what awaits them if they are foolish enough to visit South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. It truly is too horrific for me to post to you, a website with stories and photos of how the Whites are being murdered in the most horrific way. It highlights the fact that the famous liberal White South Africans who advocated Black majority rule now live in any other country except South Africa. Yes, those White South African liberal-types who wanted Black rule now live in Britain, New Zealand and Australia.

STRANGE EVENTS DOWN UNDER
Whilst still based in South Africa our movement seemed to enjoy good fraternal relations with a group of apparent Australian patriots called "Australian National Action", particularly with one of their leading members who had the unusual name of Jim Saleam. Accepting their bona fides that they shared our own pro-White and pro-Western policies we exchanged publications, and indeed published a number of articles written by ANA members in the pages of S.A.Patriot (though in retrospect perhaps we should have read one particular article a little more carefully before publishing it).
Following our forced relocation to the UK contact with ANA seemed to cease, but in 2001 we were able to re-make contact with Jim Saleam via the Internet. Shortly after this, however, we were warned by the erstwhile Australian Co-ordinator of the Springbok Club to be somewhat wary of Mr. Saleam. It did not take us long to discover the reason for this, for Mr. Saleam himself subsequently admitted that he had served four years imprisonment for a shotgun offence (though to be fair, he denied all involvement in this incident).
More suspicions concerning Mr. Saleam soon followed however. Firstly he made reference to an entire "alphabet soup" of initials of alleged UK political organisations, some of which referred to completely "off the edge" outfits which we wouldn't touch with a bargepole, but others which we had never heard of - and indeed still haven't heard of from any other source to this day! Secondly, and far more disturbingly, he revealed that in spite of still claiming to be "opposed to Moslem immigration to our societies" (and indeed signing off with the phrase "with best wishes to all South Africa expats") he then went on to state that he opposed the West's War against Terrorism in Iraq - using the classic ultra-leftist phraseology of "the criminal invasion of Iraq" to describe it! Subsequent e-mail correspondence revealed that not only did Mr. Saleam hold the totally ambiguous opinions of opposing Islamic expansionism in one part of the globe (Australia) yet apparently supporting it in another (Iraq), but that furthermore he seemed completely incapable of grasping the total logical inconsistency of such hypocrisy! At this stage we thought it best to drop all contact with the confused Mr. Saleam.
A few months ago, however, we received information about a so-called "6th Sydney Forum", which was apparently being organised by Mr. Saleam. Although many of the speeches advertised for this "Forum" were those which we could fully identify with (regarding Australia's immigration problems and the curse of "political correctness"), others showed that Mr. Saleam was still apparently suffering from acute political schizophrenia. Not only was he due to speak himself under the sickening theme of "Imperialism, Zionism and The Criminal War Against Iraq" (no, we're not making this up!), but the main speaker was announced to be Tamman Sulaiman, the Syrian Ambassador to Australia - and don't forget that Syria is a fully paid-up associate member of the Axis of Evil!!!
What is the cause of Mr. Saleam's total ambiguity of apparently supporting Australia's struggle to maintain its Western identity in one breath, yet opposing the Western struggle to counteract Islamic fundamentalism in another area of the globe in the next breath? A clue probably lies in Mr. Saleam's own identity, for, as his unusual surname may suggest, he is - er - actually of Lebanese origin. One part of the poor fellow therefore apparently identifies with his Australian background where he lives, yet another part of him still sides with his Arab ancestry. If ever there was a good concrete example to demonstrate the problems caused by miscegenation and multi-culturalism then surely this is it!
