Many recent opinion poll findings have revealed that the most pressing problem worrying the British people at the moment is not the alleged Covid-19 pandemic, nor the debatable climate change crisis as would be expected if the mainstream media was to be believed, but rather illegal immigration.

News footage of rubber dinghies crossing the English Channel full of alien migrants are shown regularly on our television screens and on Internet streaming services, and the reaction of most British people to this has been anger and loathing. This however has not been the reaction of the egalitarians within our midst, who sickeningly seem to express sympathy with the parasitical migrants and sorrow when providence prevents them from achieving their unlawful aims.

Make no bones about it, these swarms of alien migrants have absolutely NO right to migrate to the UK, and the vast majority of them – given the fact that they are able to pay substantial sums to “people smugglers” - are not refugees in the true sense of the word. They are INVADERS who wish to exploit Britain’s well-known free National Health Service and universal benefits system!

In the past Britain has been threatened with invasion by the Spanish in 1588, the French in the early 19th century and the Germans TWICE during the 20th century. Just because this present invasion of our shores does not involve those bearing weapons does not mean that it is any less of a threat to Britain’s identity, nor to the well-being of the British people! On all the previous occasions when Britain was under attack both the establishment (Parliament and the media etc.) and the ordinary British people stood together to form a united patriotic front, but today alas this is not the case – indeed many members of the establishment seem to be openly siding with the enemy!

It is no good blaming the French as so many seem to be doing, as the French people are faced with exactly the same threat as the British people are – as indeed are most of the peoples of the great European nation-states, especially those still trapped within the German-dominated EU. Hopefully France and many more of these countries will soon follow Britain’s example and breakaway from EU entrapment, and will then be able to control their own borders once again. Even better would be if all Western nations could act in unison and tear-up the outdated 1951 UNHCR Refugee Convention so that all of the swarms of parasitic migrants could then be immediately returned to their lands of ethnic origin.

But solving the current illegal immigration problem alone will not be sufficient to remove the threat to our national identities and the rights and freedoms of our citizens, for ever since the end of WW2 there have been growing ghettos of alien immigrants in all the major cities of Western Europe. During the 1970s the patriotic movement in Britain coined the phrase: “Stop Immigration – Start Repatriation”. This sentiment struck a cord with the vast majority of the British people, but alas the patriotic parties advocating such a policy were not able to make any political headway, mainly because they were infiltrated by neo-fascist (and in some cases even unbelievably pro-Islamic!) elements. Now however a new generation of far more acceptable patriotic parties have sprung up, not only in Britain but across Europe. Let the same battle-cry be sounded again therefore: STOP IMMIGRATION – START REPATRIATION!

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The Patriotic Forum staged an extremely enlightening Zoom meeting last moth which was addressed by Mr. Bob Vinnicombe from Sydney, Australia, a leading member of the Australian One Nation Party. In his highly informative talk Mr. Vinnicombe detailed facts concerning four major matters of current global concern, namely 1) the Wuhan Virus lockdown scam in which civil liberties have been trashed by authoritarian Leftist Governments with their own agendas, 2) the threat from Communist China, 3) the climate change scam, and 4) the loss of free speech and the ability of free discussion due to the overwhelming bias of the media and laws that inhibit free speech

The Patriotic Forum is planning to stage a further Zoom meeting featuring a prominent personality during the final week in December, and needless to say full details will be circulated to all members and supporters as soon as finalised. In late January 2022 the Patriotic Forum will be holding an event in London to celebrate both Burns Night and Australia Day, and in early February will be holding another Zoom meeting to be addressed by a New Zealand patriot in order to mark New Zealand Day. Further information about both these events will be detailed in next month’s SCN.

MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL

We have recently received the following most harrowing message from the Animal Survival International organisation, which illustrates clearly the lack of acceptable wildlife protection standards in Zimbabwe :-

“A baby elephant in Zimbabwe’s Kariba region urgently needs your help - and the clock is ticking fast! The Zimbabwe National Parks Authority has been alerted to a baby elephant with a wire snare wound tightly around the top of his leg. Now, together with the Kariba Animal Welfare Fund Trust (KAWFT), we are working as quickly as possible to help arrange the logistics, specialized equipment and personnel for an emergency rescue operation.

“We are in a race against time to save a baby elephant’s life!

“Every step he takes is tightening the device and putting him in greater danger of death. We must urgently raise sufficient funds to charter a helicopter and buy medical supplies to dart the baby elephant and remove the snare before it’s too late. The wound is already dangerously swollen, and vets fear his time is running out!

“The team at KAWFT saw this baby elephant just five days ago, with no sign of a snare. That means the damage is worsening dangerously fast, and he will soon lose the use of his leg. It is critical that we relieve the swelling and return blood-flow to the leg as soon as possible. It will be a dangerous rescue operation, but we are committed to saving this baby elephant!

“This elephant herd is well known by KAWFT, and the baby elephant’s mother is dangerously unpredictable. We anticipate that she will fiercely protect her baby from humans. An expert team of Zimbabwe National Park rangers, veterinarians and a highly trained pilot will need to execute the rescue with military precision and the highest level of care.

“The adult elephants are already on edge because the calf is struggling. But they will need to be kept a safe distance away from the team of veterinarians and the injured calf once he is successfully darted from the air.

“The team on the ground is busy preparing so they can be ready to mobilize at a moment’s notice. Another team of rangers are keeping as close as possible to the calf, while the veterinarians, who are donating their time and expertise to save the life of this baby elephant, are standing by.

“All that remains is to secure the helicopter and to purchase the immobilization drugs and medical supplies to dart and treat the injured calf.

“This baby elephant is an example of exactly why Animal Survival International is so committed to ending the use of snares! Snares are horrific devices that torture and kill animals indiscriminately. No animal is safe from their cruelty. This calf is the second baby elephant from the same mother who has been snared. Animal Survival International cannot stand by and let this baby elephant suffer and die because of a snare.

“Snares function like a noose - tightening with pressure! The wire where the snare was anchored to a bush or tree is now catching under his foot with each step, causing it to become tighter and tighter. We cannot imagine the pain and stress this little elephant is experiencing.”

SOLIDARITY WITH YORKSHIRE C.C.C. STAFF

In the editorial of last month’s SCN we highlighted the unacceptable actions of the Pakistani cricketer Azeem Rafiq who had made a number of unsubstantiated claims of “racist abuse” against his former fellow-players and coaching staff members at Yorkshire CCC. We went on, however, to state that if there was any hope emerging from this whole unfortunate incident then it was an open letter which had been sent by a delegation of Yorkshire CCC staff members to their county board in which they pulled no punches in condemning the club’s failure to stand up to Rafiq’s “one man mission to bring down the club”.

Since then there have been a number of extremely significant developments in this whole unbelievable saga. Most important perhaps has been the revelation that Rafiq himself had sent a number of highly offensive anti-Semitic text messages in the past, which can only mean that rather than being nicknamed “Raffer the kaffir” he should perhaps more accurately have been referred to as “Rafiq the hypocrite”!

Most disturbing however is the recent news that the new “politically correct” Yorkshire CCC board have sacked 16 members of their coaching staff, including Director of Cricket Martyn Moxon and Head Coach Andrew Gale – apparently in retaliation to the open letter which they had sent. This highly controversial action has been met with immediate moves to initiate legal actions against the new county board and its “parachuted in” chairman Patel. More encouragingly however has been the threat by most of the county’s current players to refuse to play for the county until the sacked staff members are re-instated.

We can only wish all the coaching staff members every success in their legal actions, and congratulate all those players who’ve had the backbone to support their coaching colleagues in their struggle to save their county. We also hope that all those other past and present Yorkshire players who have been smeared by unsubstantiated claims by Rafiq will be able to initiate a joint legal action against Rafiq for slander, and that as a result both the trouble-making Rafiq himself and the wretched Patel will disappear entirely from the scene, so that Yorkshire can get on with doing what they do best – play Cricket!

THE DEATH OF THE COUNTESS OF AVON

The recent sad death of Clarissa, the Countess of Avon – an outstanding woman herself – has reminded us of what an outstanding person and patriot her husband, Sir Anthony Eden (later the Earl of Avon), was.

Sir Anthony Eden (as he then was) proved a superb Foreign Secretary, particularly when it is recalled what a difficult period he held office during, prior to and during WW2 and during the start of the Cold War, a success which was helped substantially by the fact that he was a skilled linguist. It has often been observed that he ascended to the Premiership far too late, and there is probably must truth in this observation. He was however a true Conservative and a highly popular politician, as confirmed by the massively increased majority which he obtained at the 1955 General Election.

He will always be mainly remembered for his actions during the Suez Crisis of 1956 however, when after the Egyptian tyrant Nasser illegally seized the Canal he was prepared to take military action in order to regain control. For this of course he must be highly praised, for if the Suez operation had been allowed to be concluded successfully then undoubtedly subsequent Islamic tyrants and terrorists such as Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden etc. would not have arisen. Alas however traitors in Britain – not only the predictable socialist Labour politicians but also more sickeningly fifth-columnists “Cinos” (“Conservatives in Name Only”) within the Conservative Party, most notably Harold MacMillan - sabotaged Eden’s patriotic efforts.

Alas failing health caused Eden to lose the courage to carry on the operation to its necessary conclusion, and as a result not only did Britain’s post-WW2 decline accelerate, but it also gave Islamic extremism the “green light” to re-invigorate its centuries-old war against the West. Tragically it also enabled the “Cinos” to gain full control within the Conservative Party, which was to last for the next two decades, and which has now sadly resumed again. Britain – and the Conservative Party – therefore needs another Sir Anthony Eden to emerge again!

REMEMBERING DAVE TAYLOR

Durban-born Dave Taylor was a great though unfortunately mainly unheralded South African patriot. Originally a keen member of the United Party, he fought and won a seat on Durban City Council representing the Stamford Hill Ward in 1976, though standing as an independent, as of course did most council candidates in those days.

He soon proved himself to be a popular and dynamic councillor who fought tirelessly for the interests of his White lower-middle-class electors. He also proved to be a constant thorn in the side of the Leftist council faction as they attempted to integrate more and more council facilities. During his period as a councillor he became increasingly alarmed at the Leftward drift of the United Party, and when they metamorphosised into the New Republic Party he rejected the new party and joined John Vorster’s ruling National Party. So impressed had they become by his energetic record on Council that the NP selected him as their candidate for the Durban Central Constituency at the 1977 General Election. This constituency had of course been a UP/NRP stronghold for over half a century, and it is therefore a testimony to Dave Taylor’s personal popularity that he came very close to winning the seat.

As a result of Dave Taylor’s political move the daggers came out for him both from his old NRP colleagues and from the ultra-Leftist PFP. They threw all the money at their disposal into trying to unseat him at the 1980 Durban Council elections, which unfortunately they were able to achieve. He then tried to re-enter Council for the Point Ward in the 1982 round of elections, and then during the mid-1980s (by which time he had clearly identified himself with the Conservative Party) for the Woodlands/Montclair Ward, though sadly he was unsuccessful on both occasions.

During the early 1980s Dave Taylor became a keen supporter of the White Rhino Club (Mk.1) during its brief existence, and as a result of this became a good friend of the original S.A.Patriot magazine, which gave him strong support in both editions Nos. 3 and 14.

Tragically, however, shortly after receiving this support he was hoodwinked into associating with the notorious Brendan Willmer and his factional “Civic Action League”, and indeed rented them an room in his business premises as an office for a peppercorn rent. It didn’t take him and his fellow former Durban City Councillor Cornelius Koekemoer long to realise their mistakes however, and once they learnt (or more accurately were reminded of!) their mistakes in associating with this phony outfit they quickly cut all links. For Dave Taylor however this presented a difficult problem for his legal rental arrangement with the Willmerite “Civic Action League” meant that he couldn’t evict them, and so the bizarre situation arose where the Willmerites were spreading vile malicious rumours smearing him from his own premises!

Dave Taylor was always a staunch South African patriot, and he became increasingly depressed by what was happening to his beloved country. He was a happily married man whose wife was clearly several years older then him, and they had a fine daughter who was only in her teenage years when the NP’s sellout of the country became obvious during the late 1980s. By all accounts Dave Taylor died during the early 1990s, and although the official cause of his death on his death certificate may have stated something different, it is clear that he really died of a broken heart at the demise of his beloved country. He deserves to be remembered fondly for all he did to try to save it however.

At the height of the Marxist-orchestrated “Stop the 70 Tour” protests one of the leading ring-leaders of the violent demonstrations stated openly that once they had ensured that South Africa was thrown out of world Cricket they would then turn their attention to Australia because of its White Australia immigration policy (even though this policy had been abandoned years previously!), and would then campaign for the banning of the entire game of Cricket because they considered it “bourgeois and decadent”! Such an idea of course seemed ridiculous at the time, but now, some 50 years later, this attempt to destroy the game of Cricket seems to be nearing fulfillment – not because it is considered “bourgeois and decadent”, but equally ridiculously because it is considered “institutionally racist”!

The ECB – and indeed all cricketing authorities - have only themselves to blame for this dire state of affairs however, as they have willingly “supped with the devil” by partaking in the Marxist insurrectionist “taking the knee” gesture, and have submitted to the dictates of the vile homosexual lobby. In this the Cricketing authorities have not been alone in the sporting world of course, for to be sure the FA have been even more at fault in their sickening subservience to those who wish to destroy Western society, but because of its elitist nature and traditions Cricket seems to have been more susceptible to the co-ordinated destruction campaigns being waged against them by the enemies of all which is decent.

The main target for recent attacks against the game has of course been Yorkshire CCC. This is perhaps not surprising given that Yorkshire has historically been one of the strongest upholders of the game’s traditions (up until 1992 they of course only allowed those actually born in the county to play for them) and the no-nonsense Yorkshire character. The individual leading these attacks against Yorkshire CCC has been a Pakistani cricketer named Azeem Rafiq who was given the honour of playing briefly for the Club, and indeed captained them on one occasion. Rafiq however did not perform sufficiently well to retain his place in the side, and as a result his contract was not renewed – and following this he clearly developed a huge chip on his shoulders.

Rafiq’s subsequent attacks against the Club which gave him so many opportunities have been bizarre in the extreme. He claims that England player Gary Ballance “called him a Paki” – but the term Paki is simply a common derivative of Pakistani, so if it is “insulting” to call a Pakistani a Paki then why isn’t it “insulting” to call a Briton a Brit, an Australian an Aussie or an Afghanistani an Afghan? Rafiq then also claimed that former Yorkshire and England captain Michael Vaughan had uttered words to the effect that “there are too many of you over here and you should go back where you came from”. Vaughan vehemently denies this claim, and given the fact that he has been such a keen supporter of the demeaning “taking the knee” gesture it is very difficult to believe that it is true. Be this as it may however, such opinions are held by the vast majority of the British people, with comments such as these being commonplace in every pub in the land and on every social media platform every day of the week! Most deranged of all, however, has been Rafiq’s claim that Gary Ballance once called him “Kevin”. Kevin!?! – the whole saga has become sillier and sillier!

Given the totally bizarre and unsubstantiated nature of Rafiq’s trouble-making allegations one would have thought that they would have been completely dismissed out of hand – but alas no. In spite of the fact that no other Asian Yorkshire player such as England international Adil Rashid has repeated Rafiq’s demented allegations – with one even honourably asserting that he had never experienced any insults himself – both Yorkshire CCC and the ECB have humiliatingly kow-towed to all this nonsense, with several good and innocent officials being forced to resign as a result. By so doing they could alas be sounding the death-knell for not only their county club, but also for the game as a whole!

If there has been any hope arising out of this whole sickening saga then it surely lies with an open letter sent by a delegation of Yorkshire CCC staff members to their county board in which they pull no punches in condemning the club’s failure to stand up to Rafiq’s “one man mission to bring down the club”. The letter further reveals that Rafiq was constantly “problematic in the dressing room”. It is only to be hoped that the defiant spirit of these courageous staff members spreads and gives a bit of backbone to both their board and to the ECB to resist all the sinisterly-motivated attacks against them by the grudge-bearing Rafiq and his ilk.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club held a most enjoyable and successful meeting last month – the first such “live” meeting to be staged since all the lunatic “lockdown” restrictions were introduced. The guest speaker at this meeting was Mr. James Lockwood LL.B, AKC, who holds office in all the three Loyal Orders in England. In a most enthralling and enlightening speech Mr. Lockwood told something about the history, work and objectives of the Loyal Orders, dating back to the Glorious Revolution of 1688 up until the present day. He also told how the three Orders had evolved into their own separate identities whilst still retaining common links and patriotic ideals, and how they had spread throughout the English-speaking world, including in previous years to South Africa.

Alas the Springbok Club’s planned guest speaker for its UDI Day celebration meeting this year wasn’t able to make this event because of unexpected personal commitments at the time, but he will be speaking for the organisation sometime during early 2022. The Springbok Club is however planning to stage a gathering commemorating the Day of the Vow at the White Horse Stone in Kent on or around the 16th December. More precise details about this event will be given in next month’s SCN.

MESSAGE FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS ORGANISATION

We have recently received the following most disturbing message from the Network for Animals organisation, which illustrates clearly the inhumane nature of the “new” South Africa :-

“The plight of abused donkeys in Bela Bela, South Africa, continues to be of the utmost concern. Please help us rush emergency aid to the battered and abused donkeys in this rural hellhole. We need your help to save them.

“Terrified. emaciated donkeys with gaping wounds and broken spirits are in urgent need of medical care and rehabilitation.

“Our team was alerted to several cases of donkey abuse in Bela Bela by a cruelty inspector on the ground. We immediately rushed to the scene. What we discovered upon arrival was even worse than we could have imagined: a herd of starving, injured donkeys, cowering against barbed wire fences, covered with sores oozing with pus.

“With seeping wounds and hip bones jutting out these donkeys were just days from death!

“Many had been DELIBERATELY INJURED by cruel owners who made cuts in the donkeys’ skins and then whipped these open wounds to force them to work even harder.

“Even MORE HORRIFYING, some of the donkeys were blind in one eye because their owners had intentionally burst their eyeballs. This is to make them easier to catch and control, as they can’t run as fast with damaged vision.

“These poor, gentle creatures also had painful, infected wounds where rudimentary harnesses had torn into their flesh. For days, weeks and sometimes months on end, these donkeys are literally worked to the bone under the most inhumane conditions. They are forced to drag over-laden carts even when they are ill or injured. If they protest, they’re simply whipped and beaten harder.

“Donkeys only a year old are starved, abused and forced to carry loads exceeding ONE TON.

“While most of the donkeys were in horrific states, Sophie was the one that brought our team to tears - and we’re a team that has seen countless terrible things.

“Just a year old, this poor little girl was not only the thinnest donkey of them all but also the most emaciated donkey we had ever seen. How she was even still standing, we have no idea. She flinched at the slightest touch, not sure whether she could trust us. After all, all she has ever known in her short life is cruelty and abuse.

“As we spoke to her, promising her we’d save her, one of her fearful friends slowly inched over. He must have realized that we are good guys - and ever so gently, he nudged us with his nose. He refused to leave our side - he knew we were his only hope.

“There was no way our team was leaving without making sure these donkeys were taken to a place of safety and given the best medical care possible.

“With assistance from our partner on the ground, the Have a Heart Equine Sanctuary (HAHES), as well as a team of police officers, we were able to confiscate Sophie and two other donkeys found in almost equally shocking condition. Poor Sophie, despite being deathly afraid, was just happy to have some food: the moment she entered the horsebox, she began to tear at the hay in front of her, swallowing it down in huge, grateful gulps. It was probably the most food she’d ever seen in her life.

“The confiscated donkeys will now be rehabilitated - but their road to recovery will be LONG and COSTLY.

“The rescued donkeys are now safe but desperately need urgent medical treatment and ongoing care. Would you please help us provide this life-saving care by donating right now? We urgently need to raise $3,000 (£2,160) to get the food and medicine they need. We desperately want to rehabilitate Sophie and her friends, but we need YOUR help to do it. We cannot help them without YOUR support.

“Caring medically treating and feeding these poor donkeys is expensive. We can only help them because of the generosity of animal lovers. Please donate what you can so that Sophie and her friends can experience life without cruelty and pain. They are counting on you! Sophie and her friends need you!

MODERN PENTATHLON UNDER ATTACK

There has recently been a most alarming news report that the traditional nature of the Modern Pentathlon is under threat, with attempts being made by a certain faction within the multi-sporting events’ governing body, the UIPM, to remove the Show Jumping phase.

The Modern Pentathlon, which was initiated for the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games under the direction of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, is of course the most varied of all multi-sports competitions, and therefore is the most supreme test of all-round sportsmanship and sportswomanship.

During recent years, however, there have been several major changes to the structure of the event – some of them good and others not so. Certainly the combining of the running and pistol-shooting phases in a similar manner to the Biathlon has been a success, but the squashing of all five disciplines into a one-day competition and altering the fencing phase away from its traditional structure where every competitor fought each other have not proved so welcomed.

Now, following a single deplorable incident where a German coach punched a horse which performed so badly that the German competitor was eliminated, there have been irrational and reprehensible calls for the ditching of the entire Show Jumping discipline. Surely this test of such a radically different sporting skill – horsemanship and horsewomanship – is what sets the Modern Pentathlon apart from other multi-sporting events and makes it so exciting. This proposed removal must therefore surely be resisted.

What we suggest is that firstly the Modern Pentathlon must revert to being a two-day competition with Swimming and Fencing taking place on the first day, and Show Jumping and Running/Shooting on the second. The Fencing phase should also revert to its original structure of every competitor fighting each other.

Finally we would suggest that the horses for the Show Jumping phase should be graded prior to each competition, and that each rider should have two rounds riding different horses – with the competitor who draws the best horse also having to ride the worst, and the one who draws the second-best horse also having to ride the penultimately ranked one etc.. We also advocate that if any rider/horse combination performs so badly that they would have been eliminated in an ordinary Show Jumping competition that they should be allocated the same score as the worst competitor (perhaps with an extra four faults added) for that round only.

BRITAIN’S FORGOTTEN WARS

The recent Channel 4 TV series, “Britain’s Forgotten Wars”, had all the hallmarks of being a most watchable series, especially as it was fronted by Sir Tony Robinson – but alas it proved to be highly controversial.

In only one of the five episodes which were actually screened (for some mysterious reason the planned programme about the Bosnian War was apparently never screened) was it acknowledged that the war in question was necessary and was morally right – namely the Korean War – with the others, the Malayan Emergency, the Mau-Mau Conflict, the Suez War and the First Gulf War, all being subjected to extreme anti-British bias and historically inaccurate interpretations.

The worse culprit in this regard was undoubtedly the episode about the fight against Mau Mau terrorism in Kenya, where the incredible and highly offensive claim was made that the Mau Mau were not terrorists and that Jomo Kenyatta was not a demonic terrorist leader. Even the actual footage of the Mau Mau atrocities shown in this programme confirmed that they were nothing more than murdering savages of the same type as ZANU/PF in Rhodesia, SWAPO in SWA and the ANC in South Africa, and that Kenyatta was on a par with Mandela and Mugabe when it came to orchestrating sadistic terrorist acts.

But in spite of this attempt to re-write history the truth about the situation still shone through. It was admitted that the vast majority of Black Kenyans were loyal and were perfectly happy living under benign British colonial rule, which was clearly confirmed by news footage from the time. Even more damning however was the acknowledgement that a very high percentage of Mau Mau terrorists were easily “turned” once they had been captured – in other words they had been intimidated into joining the terrorists, and in reality clearly knew how much better off they were living under British rule rather than under the potential future rule of the despot Kenyatta!

My experience with North Koreans (and I've met many of them) is that their country does, in fact, make some modicum of sense in comparison to the insanity in the West. In Korea, you still have a mum and dad. You also are a boy or a girl, regardless of how deluded one might feel about that. I was very well treated by all of the North Koreans whom I met in Bangkok and in Malaysia, and very well taken care of. So, this was a very interesting article for me.

CRIME HAZZARD

There is great hostility in the western suburbs of Sydney, especially among the Muslims against having troops on the streets enforcing a lockdown and accosting people for not wearing masks. They interpret Brad Hazzard's words as meaning "we're not locking down the eastern suburbs only the western suburbs because that's where they don't know how to obey laws". Of course if people come from Iraq or Afghanistan and they see soldiers ordering women to cover their faces or they'll be arrested, it'll make them feel at homesick for where they came from. No doubt this isn't reported in the media.

DEATH OF A TRAITOR

There will of course be no wreath from the SCN at the funeral of Frederik Willem de Klerk.

There has surely been no greater traitor to any nation in history than F.W. de Klerk, who was not only prepared to sell-out and surrender the entire South African nation to the tender mercies of ANC terrorist rule, and thereby to condemn his fellow-countrymen to daily risks to their lives and well-being, but was even prepared to carry out his treachery with a smile on his face as if he was doing something to be proud of.

De Klerk’s notorious “Red Friday” speech of Friday 1st February 1991, in which he unbanned the terrorist ANC, the PAC and the South African Communist Party and released the notorious terrorist leader Nelson Mandela – thereby putting into motion the unstoppable process which inevitably led to the destruction of civilisation in South Africa - will undoubtedly go down as one of the most infamous dates in history. Almost overnight South Africa changed from being an advanced and humane First World country to being a lawless and decaying Third World basket-case.

The outcome of de Klerk’s betrayal and sell-out was surely crystal clear for all to see: a savage and on-going murder campaign against White farmers and inner-city dwellers; riots, looting and destruction across the land, and an entire younger generation of White South Africans left with no future other than to emigrate. It has not only been the Whites who have suffered as a direct result of de Klerk’s treason however. The Indians, Coloureds and those Blacks not on the ANC gravy-train have suffered equally from the total breakdown of law and order across the land and the collapse of the economy. Perhaps most sickening of all, however, has been the manner in which wildlife and domestic animals have suffered savage cruelty as a result of the disappearance of all civilised standards – as is well illustrated in the message from the Network for Animals organisation above.

But before we start condemning de Klerk alone let us recall that South Africa’s sell-out actually began years previously when John Vorster betrayed Rhodesia and started to liberalise the central features of the policy of separate development, and was then accelerated by P.W.Botha who rapidly dismantled all the remaining pillars of the separate development policy. Let us not forget either that the White electorate unbelievably backed de Klerk’s surrender proposals at the 1992 Referendum by an incredible 2 to 1 majority! No, the culprit for the betrayal of South Africa wasn’t F.W.de Klerk alone: it was the entire rotten National Party/NGK/Broederbond establishment!

On Thursday 30th September Mr. Simon Silwood, a West Bromwich Albion supporter, was sentenced to eight-weeks in prison. So what was his crime? Theft? Violent assault? Domestic abuse? Drug dealing? No. Mr. Silwood’s “crime” was posting a humorous comment on FaceBook about a WBA player named Romaine Sawyers, who happens to be a negro, and who had made a number of blunders during WBA’s 5-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Mr. Silwood had suggested in his posting that Romaine Sawyers should have been awarded the “Baboon d’Or” for his poor performance, a subtle word-play on the Ballon d’Or, an annual soccer award for the player considered the best of the year. For any normal rational person such a clever play on words would be found funny and would have caused a hearty laugh, but for Romaine Sawyers, who is evidently very thin-skinned, this comment was considered “offensive”.

But regardless of whether this particular comical remark could be regarded as “offensive” or not, is not most humour “offensive” to the butts of the jokes in question? Furthermore, is it not a fundamental right of free speech to be “offensive” to anyone who we want to? As the old playground saying went: “Sticks and stones might break my bones, but words will never hurt me”! This fundamental axiom was probably never better expressed than by Rowan Atkinson in his speech supporting the “Reform Section 5 of the Crime and Courts Act” campaign, which can be accessed at:-

The handing down of a custodial sentence by District Judge Briony Clarke for merely making a jocular posting on a FaceBook members’ group is therefore worrying in the extreme, and makes us wonder precisely what type of society we are currently living in. Even more sickening, perhaps, was the action of the WBA authorities by placing a life ban on Mr.Silwood, thus preventing him from ever again attending any matches played by the team which he has supported since his youth!

It is however clear from the the nature of the charge leveled against Mr.Silwood, and by the remarks made by Judge Clarke, that it was the fact that Romaine Sawyers was a negro which caused an innocuous remark to be considered as a “crime”. It is clear that if Sawyers was White (or perhaps Arab, Indian or Chinese?) then the criminal courts would never have been involved. Are the judicial authorities behind the prosecution and Judge Clarke therefore surreptitiously implying that negroes physically resemble baboons?

If this whole ludicrous incident had been made up then nobody would have believed it, and indeed the whole ridiculous affair is in itself a good reason to laugh. But for Mr.Silwood it was not funny. His whole life has now been ruined by the totally unacceptable actions of some very thin-skinned and sinisterly-motivated individuals. We therefore hope that Romaine Sawyers, Judge Clarke and everyone else involved in this disgusting prosecution make a good study of Rowan Atkinson’s speech as referenced above.

We thus call upon the judicial authorities involved to squash the conviction against Mr.Silwood completely so that there is no longer any stain on his character, and to grant him appropriate financial compensation. We furthermore call upon WBA officials to lift their ban against Mr.Silwood attending future matches and to grant him free season tickets for the rest of his life to atone for their previous unjustified action. If Romaine Sawyers or anyone else objects to the observations which we have made in this article then we believe that they should be free to insult us as much as they like. We after all believe in free speech.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club fulfilled its promise to the late, great, Peter Sladden again this year by maintaining the annual “Raising of the Flag” ceremony. This year the ceremony was held at Dalham in Suffolk, a village which has strong associations with Cecil Rhodes and the extended Rhodes family, and took place alongside the grave of Francis “Frank” Rhodes, Cecil Rhodes’ brother. Short keynote speeches were given by Mr. Alan Williamson and by Mr. Jim Sinclair, and the singing of both the British and the Rhodesian national anthems was then led by Mr. Alex Knox-Wylie. After the ceremony itself, and after taking a brief view of the next-door Dalham Hall which was once owned by Cecil Rhodes, the party adjourned to a near-by hostelry where Mr. Gary Vincent gave an updated version of the PowerPoint presentation about James Theodore Bent and how he had been commissioned by Cecil Rhodes to investigate the mysterious Zimbabwe ruins and to report back on his findings about its origins – a presentation which in its earlier form he had given at August’s Springbok Club event.

It has recently been discovered that Lt. E.C. “Teddy” Tyndale-Biscoe, who of course was the first person to hoist the Union Flag during the original “Raising of the Flag” ceremony at Salisbury, Rhodesia, in 1890, is evidently buried at Swanage in Dorset, Tentative plans are now therefore being made to stage the 2022 “Raising of the Flag” ceremony at Swanage.

Guest Speaker: Mr. JAMES LOCKWOOD LL.B., A.K.C. - who will be speaking about the history, work and objectives of the three Loyal Orders, including a brief mention of their presence in Southern Africa.

James Lockwood was born at Pembury and raised at Tunbridge Wells in Kent. He read Law at King's College, London. After graduating he worked for almost a decade as a civilian investigator with Kent Police, and then for the Kent County Council managing aspects of the road network. After a stint in tax recruitment, he entered the healthcare tax sector as an NHS tax consultant. He was initiated into the Orange Order in February 2004, the Royal Black Institution in 2006 and the Apprentice Boys of Derry in 2004. He is also a member of the Royal Society of St George. He was a former council candidate for the Conservative Party, and a former chairman of the Young Conservatives in the Cities of London & Westminster Conservative Association, overlapping with the chairmanship of Jacob Rees-Mogg. Currently he is Metropolitan Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Orange Order and served as London District Master from 2016 to 2018, is currently the Master of the South of England District Chapter of the Royal Black Institution, and is also Kent Branch Club Secretary for the Apprentice Boys of Derry. He also maintains an interest in other fraternal orders. His main interests outside the Loyal Orders are badminton, cricket, history, politics, genealogy, classical music and creative writing. Through the Orange Order he developed a keen interest in Lord Carson, regarded as the Father of Northern Ireland, and appeared on the BBC’s Mastermind quiz programme in 2013, with the life of Lord Carson being his specialist subject.

Antrim, gave a most eloquent and enthralling speech about the recent leadership crisis in he DUP, the current worrying situation in Ulster following the imposition of the EU-imposed Northern Ireland Protocol, and the growing Loyalist resistance to this.

MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL

We have recently received the following important message from the Animal Survival International organisation :-

“We’ve told you before that we are committed to taking back the sea for sea creatures, one beach at a time - and we intend to keep our promise, by cleaning up plastic pollution on beaches around the world. But we need your help.

”This time, we’re focusing on beaches in Cape Town, South Africa, where plastic pollution is having a devastating effect on endangered sea turtle hatchlings.

”Seventy-five percent of all plastic ever produced becomes waste, most of it ending up in our oceans. Shockingly, there is an estimated 5 TRILLION (that’s 5,000,000,000,000!) pieces of plastic in the ocean, and this figure is growing!

“Sea turtles are literally choking under all the garbage! More than half of the world’s turtles have ingested plastic.

“The South African coastline is an important nesting area for endangered loggerhead and leatherback turtles. In the winter months, juvenile turtles are swept down from the northern coast of Natal by the mighty Agulhas current to the southern coast where the stormy seas wash them ashore.

”Most of these stranded hatchlings are suffering from dehydration, hypothermia and injury, which is a natural phenomenon - only one or two hatchlings in every thousand survive to maturity. But what is not natural is that their survival is now even more compromised by the amount of plastic the hatchlings have already ingested in their short lives.

“Our partner, the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation, which rescues, rehabilitates and releases stranded and distressed sea turtles, explained that more than 70% of the turtles they rescue have plastic inside of them. A total of 514 pieces of plastic were passed by the 47 hatchlings currently in the Foundation’s care. Sometimes there is so much plastic inside these baby turtles that they cannot be saved. In one turtle hatchling, they discovered 121 pieces of plastic! Of course, he had no chance of survival and died shortly after being rescued.

“Plastic waste comes in all forms, but often the deadliest are micro-plastics; tiny bits of plastic that turtles mistake for food. When too many micro-plastics are ingested, it causes internal infections, blockages and eventually death.

“Bob and Harry are two adult green turtles undergoing rehabilitation at the Foundation. Bob has been there for seven years recovering from a complicated brain injury. In the first months of Bob’s rehabilitation, he passed substantial amounts of plastic, including a balloon with a string! While Harry passed a large clear piece of plastic which could have been mistaken for a jellyfish.

“But it’s not only plastic waste that is affecting turtles. Discarded fishing gear and ghost nets are also lethal for larger turtles, as the creatures become entangled, injured and weighed down by the ropes and lines.

“Unless we step in, these turtles have little hope for their survival. Their two best chances both depend on us.

“One, we need to clean up the plastic pollution in our seas and on our beaches. And two, we need to help rescue, rehabilitate and release these special creatures back into the ocean. That is why we have teamed up with two important organizations; the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation and The Beach Co-op, whose mission is to clean up South Africa’s beaches. There is strength in numbers, which is why we have banded with these organizations to have a greater positive impact on this issue.

“Every piece of plastic removed from the ocean could be another turtle saved!

“Together with The Beach Co-op, we are planning a massive beach clean-up at one of Cape Town’s turtle hotspots, Sunset Beach. Here, the Two Oceans Foundation team collects and rescues hundreds of hatchlings every year. Already, this year, 60 turtles have been rescued by the Foundation.

”To help reduce the effects of plastic ingestion and to give future rescued turtles a better chance of survival, we are calling on all our supporters to help us and The Beach Co-op clean up Sunset Beach. But this isn’t any beach clean-up. As well as removing the bigger pieces of rubbish, we will also be focusing on sifting the sand and picking up every bit of deadly micro-plastic we can find.

“But reducing plastic on the beach is only half the job. The next step is rescuing and rehabilitating each turtle that is found in distress. To do this we need to raise funds to help the Foundation provide critical medical and rehabilitation care for rescued hatchlings.

“It costs just $2 (£1.50) a day to raise and rehabilitate one baby turtle, and it can take up to a year before the turtle is ready to be released into the wild. That is $730 (£527) per turtle. But, with only one in every 1,000 turtle hatchlings surviving to maturity, each one of these rescued hatchlings is worth it.

”Right now, 47 stranded hatchlings are being cared for at the Foundation’s rehab center. Each one needs constant care, food and monitoring in a high-tech saltwater life-support system if it’s to survive long enough to be released back into the ocean.

“It is easy at this point to feel despondent and hopeless at the state of our oceans and the harm that is being caused to these incredible creatures. But there is hope. Turtles are resilient; they are strong, and they are fighters.”

On 15th September Michael Holding, the former West Indian cricketer, announced that he was retiring as a sports commentator. Michael Holding was undoubtedly a great bowler, but his media commentating skills left a lot to be desired. His hectoring and supercilious tone annoyed a lot of people, as did his apparent attempts to lose his Caribbean accent. More recently however this annoyance has turned to anger with most viewers.

Holding has become quite open in expressing extreme-Leftist views, and has shown himself to be not only anti-White but indeed opposed to Western Civilisation. He became the cheer-leader among Sky commentators for the Marxist “Black Lives Matter” subversive movement, and more recently has referred to the decision by the New Zealand and then England cricketing authorities to withdraw from tours of Pakistan for security reasons as “Western arrogance”, seemingly disputing that very real intelligence reports had been received about a likely terrorist attack.

In his notorious diatribe at the height of the deranged “taking the knee” hysteria Holding claimed that a negro named Lewis Howard Latimer had invented an improved carbon filament for electric light bulbs. The post-experimental health issues are now becoming so apparent, yet the sheep cannot join the dots. A friend’s daughter is a nurse and she has observed a dead foetus following a vaccination. In desperation I went to an injection centre on Saturday to reveal the wrong-doings. A Gestapo-like woman wielded her enormous breasts at me as she edged forward making me step backwards and threatened to call the police. I stayed a bit longer. The officials looked suspect and the shop-clinic looked scruffier and dirtier than the Zimbabwean passport office, and so dingy – what a disgrace!

COWS COMING HOME

Sir,

I was always opposed to apartheid on libertarian grounds. I also regard "one man one vote" as a sacred cow that, like all sacred cows, should be questioned.

To me, the old pre-1994 "White" South Africa and the new post-1994 one constitute different countries, For the new one I will say that it seems to have got rid of the old Mary Whitehouse-style censorship, the state seems far less repressive and the elections more democratic. However, the old one was infinitely better governed in that the authorities were a lot more efficient and a lot less corrupt.

I would point out to those dissatisfied with this that the remedy is in their own hands. They have "one man one vote" and can vote out the ANC in a way that non-Whites couldn't vote out the Nats before 1994. However, we should make it plain that if they turn to someone like Malema and turn themselves into another Zimbabwe, we will not be coming to the rescue except under certain conditions!

OBITUARY

THE REVEREND JONATHAN BOSTON

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of the Reverend Jonathan Boston. The Rev. Jonathan Boston was a popular and dedicated Norfolk clergyman who was chosen by Peter Sladden to become Chaplain to the Lord of the Manor of Southrepps. This proved to be an inspired selection, for even though he had no direct Rhodesian connections he threw himself into the “Raising of the Flag” ceremony each year, expertly conducting the religious service at the event.

The Rev. Jonathan Boston was however above all a true British patriot. A low-church Anglican, he was a pillar of Norfolk society, being successively Curate of Eaton, Vicar of Horsford and St.Faith’s near Norfolk, and finally Rector of All Saint’s, Litcham. He was a regular fixture of the Royal Norfolk Show, where his friendly and jovial personality made him a popular attendee who could always be found in convivial conversation. He also acted as chaplain for the Norfolk Constabulary and to the Norfolk Army Cadets.

He was once begged by the boys of Eaton to re-start the village Scout troop which had fallen into abeyance, something which he successfully accomplished to the great appreciation of all concerned, and latter he founded a new Scout Troop at Horsford and .St.Faiths. Always friendly and helpful, he constantly had the time of day for everyone. His memory will always live on as an inspiration to all who knew him. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to his two sons, James and Charles, and to his sister Anthea.

It goes without saying that the US’s shameful and catastrophic retreat from Afghanistan was one of the most disastrous, humiliating and – to use Tony Blair’s well chosen word – imbecilic actions ever to be taken by a US administration.

Make no bones about it, Biden’s deranged action of withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan at exactly the same time that the Islamic terrorists of the Taliban and ISIS were on the ascendancy again was not only disgustingly wrong in itself as it betrayed the Afghan friends of the West, but was also highly dangerous for the entire Western World. This danger is of course two-fold; firstly it has increased the threat of violent terrorist attacks by expansionist Islamic forces, and secondly it has caused the mass migration of hordes of anti-Taliban - though still Muslim - Afghans to Western lands.

Received wisdom over the past almost 100 years has been that Warren Harding was the most useless and unqualified President in US history, but now, after only seven months of the presidency of “Sleepy Joe” Biden, it is clear that Warren Harding now has a serious challenger! Biden’s imbecilic pull-out shows clearly that he has absolutely no grasp of global geo-political realities, but his subsequent absurd attempts to justify this disgraceful action indicates that he is suffering from the early – perhaps even more advanced – stages of dementia. His following bumbling and fumbling performances in front of the cameras have of course only re-enforced this conclusion.

Before we condemn the demented Joe Biden alone however, it must be remembered that President Donald Trump was not “whiter than white” when it came to making correct foreign policy decisions. In the November 2019 edition of the SCN we castigated him for withdrawing US troops from Syria whilst the situation there was still highly unstable. Although we were criticised from some quarters for these comments, subsequent developments in Syria – which saw an escalation of the swarms of refugees invading western Europe - surely showed that we were right. It has now come to light of course that the first US “negotiations” with the Taliban terrorists took place not under the Biden regime but under the Trump administration a few years previously, and that this reprehensible action was the main reason why John Bolton, “the best President which the US never had”, exited Trump’s cabinet.

It would seem now however that “Sleepy” Joe’s days in the White House are numbered – but that cannot induce any feeling of comfort whatsoever, as it will only mean the advent of the even more frightening spectre of “President Kamala”! We should not forget also that the dangerous surrender in Afghanistan was not the only occasion during recent years when the US has been humiliated on the global stage, for 46 years earlier there was an equally embarrassing defeat in Vietnam – and there was a GOP administration in power in the US at that time!

It seems clear therefore that the Donkey Party is not alone in being guilty of a failure of US global leadership – far less so solely the Biden administration. We would argue that the reason for this humiliating failure of the US to lead the West is because the US has no history of Imperial power – and this in turn we would argue is because the US has never been racially homogeneous.

Following the Afghanistan surrender debacle Western civilization now faces its greatest existential threat ever – far greater in fact than that which it faced after the US’s surrender in Vietnam. So how therefore can Western civilization survive? Certainly not through the EU which because of its artificial nature shares the same inadequacies of the multi-ethnic USA. But there is one nation which we regard as part of the West which still has the potential to show global leadership and thereby to save Western civilization, and we are here of course referring to Russia!

During the 19th century Britain and Russia were engaged in what was termed “The Great Game” in rivalry over control of Afghanistan. If following Brexit the UK could increase defence spending significantly and thus regain the status of a global super-power, then it is possible that “The Great Game” could be recreated – only this time not in rivalry but in partnership with Russia in order to crush the Taliban and ISIS terrorists in Afghanistan once and for all, and thereby to save the entire Western world.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club staged a trip to Theydon Bois on the Essex/Greater London border last month, in order to visit the grave of James Theodore Bent, the great late-19th century traveller, explorer and archeologist. James Theodore Bent was commissioned by the Royal Geographical Society and the BSAC to visit and study the mysterious Zimbabwe Ruins in the newly-colonised Southern Rhodesia, and to report back on his findings concerning its origins.

In spite of the inclement weather there was still an enthusiastic turn-out of Springbok Club members and supporters who attended this event. Following the visit to the grave of James Theodore Bent and his wife Mabel, where due respects were paid, the party adjourned to the elegant Queen Victoria pub in Theydon Bois where Mr. Gary Vincent gave a captivating PowerPoint presentation about the life and career of James Theodore Bent, with particular emphasis on his time in Southern Rhodesia and the conclusions which he came to regarding the origins of the Zimbabwe Ruins.

This expert presentation began by detailing how Cecil John Rhodes had made contact with James Theodore Bent (they had both attended Oxford University) and had persuaded him to join the Rhodesian pioneer colonists who had arrived in 1890. It then chronicled how he had reached the conclusion that the Zimbabwe Ruins were constructed far earlier than the 13th/14th century which had previously been believed, and were actually constructed centuries earlier by Phoenician explorers or by other associated people from their part of the ancient world. Intriguingly Mr.Vincent ended his presentation with information about the more recent discovery of “Adam’s Calendar” in Natal, and how research into it by Michael Tellinger had shown that it was contemporary to the Zimbabwe Ruins, thus confirming James Theodore Bent’s original findings.

Details regarding the annual “Raising of the Flag” ceremony have now been finalised, and we are pleased to announce are as follows :-

Date : Saturday 2nd October 2021

Time : Assemble between 13.00 hrs and 13.30 hrs.

Venue : The churchyard of St.Mary’s Church, Dalham, Suffolk (Dalham is half-way between Bury St.Edmunds and Newmarket. The nearest railway station is Kennett which is only 3 and a quarter miles away, and therefore only a short taxi journey ride.)

The family of Cecil John Rhodes was closely associated with the village of Dalham, and indeed one of his brothers, Francis William Rhodes, became Lord of the Manor of Dalham. Cecil Rhodes himself bought a property near to the village, Dalham Hall, (though he never actually lived there), and several members of his extended family are buried in the St.Mary’s churchyard. This therefore seems to be an ideal venue where to stage this year’s “Raising of the Flag” ceremony, which will commemorate the 131st anniversary of the arrival of the Rhodesian Pioneer Column at a spot which was to become the Southern Rhodesian capital of Salisbury.

The Springbok Club meeting to be addressed by a prominent member of the Loyal Orders in England, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to all the draconian “lockdown” restrictions, has now been re-scheduled. It will take place during the evening of Thursday 28th October at a venue in central London, and more precise details will be given in next month’s SCN.

It is also tentatively planned to stage a Springbok Club trip to Sussex to coincide with the annual Bonfire Night celebrations on 5th November. This trip will of course depend upon none of the “lockdown” restrictions still being in force on that date. Further information will of course be given in next month’s SCN.

He is also a member of the Loyal Orders, being a Past Master in the Orange Order and is Treasurer of his Royal Black Preceptory. A former member of the British Army, he saw active service in both Ulster and Afghanistan.

In his talk Alan Barr will tell something about the recent leadership crisis in he DUP, the current worrying situation in Ulster as a result of the EU-imposed Northern Ireland Protocol, and the growing Loyalist resistance to this.

MESSAGE FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS

We have recently received a quite worrying message from the Network for Animals organisation. It reads as follows :-

“Remember we told you a few weeks ago about the Zimbabwe animal shelter facing shut down? It's not out of the woods yet! It's still an EMERGENCY! Nearly 500 dogs, 145 cats, three horses and a donkey will be homeless if we don't act now!

“The animals live at the Friend Animal Foundation (FAF) in Harare, Zimbabwe. But the shelter is running out of money and the animals have nowhere else to go. The authorities say nearly all will be euthanized – unless we can provide help.

“The clock is ticking FAST! We cannot let this happen! We must stop this now!

“FAF was founded by Jean Friend, who created a haven for neglected and abused animals. Sadly, Jean passed away, and her animals are now on Death Row. We just can't stand by and let this special place close - the animals will have no hope.

“The sanctuary is now run by Lorna Olivier and a small team of dedicated animal lovers, but in poverty-stricken Zimbabwe, there is no way they can keep financing the shelter on their own. They turned to us for help.

“Our team rushed to the shelter and saw for ourselves how desperate the situation is. There were so many pairs of sad, yearning eyes, watching us through the rusty wire fences as we walked by each enclosure. It breaks our hearts to think all these animals could end up dead.

“If they are to be saved, we need to show the authorities the shelter can be saved. These animals need food, medical care, and better living conditions right now. The authorities have now told us that they will work with us but that if conditions don’t improve, most of the animals will be euthanised.

“It’s a race against time because we know our supporters would want to do everything possible to prevent the killing of innocent creatures.

“Zimbabwe’s economy has collapsed and the number of abandoned dogs has skyrocketed because people can no longer afford to feed them. As a result, FAF has been unable to find a forever home for a single dog in 15 months. The situation is so desperate that Lorna has to keep 63 special-needs cats in her own home to make space for all the new animals they have received.

“We have a chance to save them all. If we can provide food and medicine to sustain the shelter, we can keep it running and encourage re-homing efforts. Hopefully, when the COVID crisis finally passes, things will return to normal and the shelter will once again be self-funding.

“For many of the animals, the shelter is their forever home. There is nowhere else for them to go. The animals of this haven need you: dogs like Bessie, who arrived with an injured leg. The only way forward is an expensive operation, but she will still be able to have a happy life after the surgery. But without our help, the authorities will kill Bessie!

“Even more heartbreaking is that the authorities will kill older dogs first, these are creatures in their golden years for whom FAF is their forever home. They should be finding gentle love, not a killing needle.

“Please find it in your hearts to donate generously today - every second wasted could mark another life we could have helped. The animals are not the ones at fault and should not be the ones to lose their lives in these sad circumstances.

“If we can raise enough money, the haven will once again be a place of safety for abused and unwanted creatures.

Peter Shilton, the great Leicester City, Stoke City and England goalkeeper, recently gave a most interesting interview to GBNews in which he clearly stated that if he was still playing he would never “take the knee” (a highly controversial action which originated among rioters and criminal subversives in the United States). The praise-worthy Save Our Statues organisation has recently initiated a three-fold action campaign to protect and preserve statues and memorials to three great British heroes which have come under attack from enemies of the British people. Colston statue consultation

You are likely aware that the Colston statue is now being exhibited, lying on its side in a vandalised state, accompanied by a consultation as to its future. Our position is to emphasise the principles of law and order and proper due process. If not a deliberate celebration of criminal behaviour, this exhibition is, at the very least, a misguided legitimisation of it.

As a listed piece of national heritage, Bristol Council’s first duty was to clean and repair the statue, and only then to undertake any public consultation on its future. Indeed, Historic England have confirmed that, legally, the statue remains on the plinth as it has not been legally removed. It is notable that this consultation doesn’t include an option to restore the statue, but there is a free text box where you can express this opinion.

Rustat memorial, Jesus College, Cambridge

Jesus College has submitted a revised application to remove the memorial to their benefactor, Tobias Rustat, from the chapel where he is buried, despite opposition from four national heritage bodies. Is there any more distasteful manifestation of the current mania for sitting in judgement of the dead than for the Church to be removing memorials?

Drake plaque, Tavistock

Tavistock Council want to place an information board near their statue of Sir Francis Drake. Whilst it is tempting to see such plaques as reasonable, there is significant risk of a proliferation of plaques that turn out to be one-sided readings of our history.

In this proposal, the most prominent section of the proposed sign concerns the slave trade, which is clearly deemed more important than Drake’s defeat of the Spanish Armada. I will watch that NPUK documentary (see June 2021 SCN – Ed.) on the Internet some time. Believe it or not, I attended my first political meeting - one of theirs - the following evening.

Incidentally, Kingsley Read's trial and acquittal were in 1978, not 1977. Furthermore, he defected to form his own Democratic National Party in 1977 and saw out his council term as an independent from mid-1978. I don't know whether or not he ever re-joined the Conservatives, but he stood for Blackburn Council as an Independent without Conservative opposition in 1984 and died in 1985.

I knew Warren Trollope (see “The Conning of Mrs. H.H.Goodhind” in August 2021 SCN – Ed.) vaguely when I still lived in Durban. He was a really strange character – not married, no apparent girl-friend, non-smoker and non-drinker. He also had no visible signs of income, although he drove around in a plush Mercedes (or was it a BMW?). I reckon he was one of Willmer’s bum-chums!

Dear friends, welcome to the Police State of Australia. Three people have been jailed in South Australia simply for crossing the border. Have they been given a fair trial? No. Did they come up before a judge and jury, and have a defence attorney and a prosecuting attorney put the cases for and against? No. Have they harmed anybody? No. Were they infected with the Wuhan virus? No. But they have been locked up. And where have they been locked up? In South Australia. But it was supposed to be dangerous for them to be in South Australia, that was why they were arrested. And if they are in a prison, isn't that a good place to infect other people? If social distancing is vital did the police practice social distancing when they were arrested? Do you know any other country where you can be thrown in jail for simply crossing a border? The former GDR, DPRK, Communist China, Iran, Myanmar maybe - and now Australia. Have you heard anyone in the media complain about this, even our celebrated brain-dead, $2m a year shock-jocks? No. Meanwhile the streets are awash with drugs, they haven't found the killers of Wiliam Tyrell, football 'heroes' commit rape and get away with it, corrupt politcians and public servants rake in millions and walk away with life-time pensions or golden handshakes, and the police haven't got anything better to do than fine people for not wearing masks or arrest people for crossing state borders. Welcome to the Police State of Australia.

NO SURRENDER TO THE PROTOCOL

Sir,

Recent events in Ulster have certainly been interesting. Edwin Poots was most certainly not prepared for his party’s (the DUP's) backlash at installing a First Minister and with the Protocol and Irish Language Act. Firstly, the Protocol is hugely threatening to Ulster’s place in the Union and secondly, the Irish Language Act is a waste of public money and a weapon to de-British Ulster.

I do trust that Sir Jeffrey Donaldson will take a much harder line. Initial signs are good. With mentors such as Enoch Powell and Lord Molyneux he should be fine. I only wish he was still a member of the UUP.

There was much tension on the ground this year in the weeks preceding the Twelfth. Although it is symbolic, but the increased number and size of the bonfires is a means of gauging Loyalist frustrations. Comments from Simon Hoare MP do not help, especially since he is supposed to be a Conservative and Unionist.

Personally, I have a fear that Ulster may suffer the same fate as Rhodesia - being handed over to facilitate political expediency. This must not happen. This is why we must promote our cause to organisations such as yourselves. We must network and make friends! I consider myself as ‘British as Finchley.’

REMEMBERING JOHAN NORTJE

We have sometimes been criticised – perhaps with good reason – for being too negative in our “tail-piece” articles when they have concentrated upon the patriotic struggle in Natal during the 1980s. This was of course a time when our movement played a prominent role in opposing the NP’s sell-out policies, but alas our efforts were often frustrated by trouble-makers who had infiltrated our ranks, firstly by the notorious Brendan Willmer and his cronies who wrecked the Save Rhodesia Campaign/South Africa First Campaign, and then by the inadequates who destroyed the White Rhino Club (Mk.1). But for every one of these rogues who caused us problems there were at least ten genuine and dedicated patriots who helped advance the patriotic cause. In this new occasional series we are going to remember some of these true heroes of the resistance struggle – beginning with Johan Nortje :-

Johan Nortje was an Afrikaner who came from Northern Natal, but he moved to the Bluff in Durban when he started working as a joiner in the railway workshops in the city. He was fully twee-talig, and believed firmly in White unity. He was a member of the HNP (indeed he was a committee member of their Port Natal Branch), and also became a committed member of the Patriotic Forum (Mk.1) and a keen supporter of S.A.Patriot magazine.

Right from the time that he first became actively involved with the patriotic movement in the early 1980s Johan Nortje’s hallmarks were total loyalty and reliability. At every meeting and other activity staged by the various wings of the patriotic movement in Greater Durban Johan could be relied upon to be present and to lend a hand in organising the event. He would never give any excuses about not being available because of work commitments etc., and could always be relied upon to perform any task which was asked of him to ensure that the activity functioned smoothly. His commitment and dedication was always most apparent at election times however, when he not only could be relied upon to leaflet and canvas beforehand, but would always take the day off from work on election day itself to help man the polling station all day long – and was particularly renown for his skills in “barking”!

Johan Nortje was also of great assistance to S.A.Patriot, regularly helping with the distribution of the magazine and also with the enveloping and labeling every time a new edition was published. As he would admit himself, he was no great intellectual, but he surprised a lot of people by once making a really powerful speech at the “Durban Parliament” (the Durban Parliamentary Debating Society), where he showed that he had a far better grasp of the realities of the world than many with far higher academic qualifications.

Johan was of course heart-broken and devastated by the sell-out of the South African nation which he loved during the early 1990s, and it is believed that this was the main reason for the health problems which then afflicted him. He was diagnosed with a hernia which needed operating upon, but tragically this operation was botched and ducts to his kidneys were severed, resulting in him having to undergo daily kidney dialysis. This alas was too much for him to bear and he went downhill fast, dying in December 1999. Although many have speculated that the botched operation may have been deliberate because of his known patriotic activism, it is far more likely to have been caused simply by the total breakdown of healthcare infrastructure in the “new” South Africa.

Johan was blessed with a fine wife Engela, who was a constant tower of strength to him. We featured her in the “Where are they now?” section of the April 2014 Edition of the SCN, but alas we received no responses to this. We would therefore still be very keen to learn what became of her, as also their twin children, Johan jnr. and Engela jnr..
