SPRINGBOK CYBER NEWSLETTER
June 2003 edition
Shortly before England's recent soccer international against South Africa a contingent from the England team, including coach Sven-Goran Eriksen and captain David Beckham, staged a much-hyped meeting with Nelson Mandela.
Although most sections of the media chose simply to describe Mandela as a former president of the "new" South Africa, those with even a rudimentary knowledge of modern South African history know that he is far more renowned for being a convicted terrorist criminal. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1963 (although eventually serving only 27 years) after being caught red-handed with enough explosives to blow up half of central Johannesburg. A terrorist offence such as this should have resulted in the death sentence, and it was only the liberal South African judiciary which prevented Mandela from going to the gallows.
At his meeting with the unspeakable Mandela Beckham grotesquely described the rendezvous as an "amazing honour". Amazing it certainly was, but to describe meeting a convicted terrorist as an "honour" is like spitting on the graves of all those who have died at the hands of ANC terrorism over the years - and all those who continue to die in the lawless tyranny which the ANC regime has subsequently unleashed. Indeed, in this current period of an international War against Terrorism (concerning which, incidentally, Mandela and the rest of the ANC hierarchy openly sided with the likes of Saddam Hussein against the West) it was also like spitting on the graves of all those who died on September 11th, at Bali and at Mombasa.
David Beckham, of course, is not particularly noted for his intellect, and probably was blissfully ignorant of Mandela's well-documented terrorist convictions. Hopefully one day he will read a bit of history and will become aware of the great offence which he caused. Not all of the England team chose to meet Mandela however, and a number of them bravely stayed away - including Joe Cole, Phil Neville, Gareth Southgate, Stephen Gerrard, Danny Mills and Paul Robinson. We salute the courage of these players who have possessed a bit of a conscience; they at least have redeemed the England team's reputation.

SPRINGBOK CLUB MAY EVENTS
The Springbok Club's Empire Day buffet for 2003 proved to be a good and memorable success. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Albert Poggio MBE, the official UK Representative of the Government of Gibraltar. In his key-note speech Mr. Poggio gave an overview of the history and current constitutional position of Gibraltar, and ended on a very encouraging note by telling how the recent campaign to oppose all attempts to establish "joint sovereignty" over the Rock with Spain - particularly the emphatic result of the Referendum called by the Gibraltarian Government - had resulted in triumph, with the Blair government now conceding that it would be impossible to alter Gibraltar's constitutional position as a British overseas territory, and abandoning all negotiations with Spain. Everyone present enjoyed the absolutely sumptuous array of buffet snacks which were provided, and the evening ended on a fascinating and more light-hearted note with a truly amazing display of close-up magic by Mr. Bruce Munton.
Alas the subsequent meeting of the Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club was not nearly so well attended - in spite of the fact that the Springbok Club's Organiser, Mr. Robert Shipley, had journeyed all the way up from Kent to attend. On paper the Springbok Club has one of its largest numbers of supporters in the Chilterns area, yet for some unknown reason the branch always struggles to attract many people to the events which it organises. Could anyone from the area let us know what the problem is we wonder? Are either the venue (usually in High Wycombe) or the times when meetings are staged (usually Saturday afternoons) inconvenient, and if so what better arrangements can be suggested?

SPRINGBOK CLUB KENT BRANCH SUMMER BRAAI
The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club will be holding their annual summer braai later during June, to which friends and supporters not only from Kent but from around the country are heartily welcomed to attend. The details are as follows:-
Date : Saturday 28th June 2003
Time : throughout the afternoon - from approx. 14.00 hrs onwards
Venue: The BRITISH QUEEN, Minster, Isle of Sheppey, Kent
As this event will be held in licensed premises there will of course be no need to bring along any liquid refreshments. Please bring all your own meat and salads etc. however, and also, as braai facilities may prove to be a little limited, please bring along any braai equipment which you might require. There will be no charge for this event, but a raffle will be held in order to defray expenses, so if you could bring along a raffle prize it would be most appreciated. It is also anticipated that a local supporter will be giving a "report-back" on his recent trip to South Africa at this gathering.
------------------------------------------------------------------
FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB EVENTS
On Thursday 17th July Mr. Raymond Simpson will give a "report-back" on his recent trip back to South Africa to the Springbok Club. Further details will be given in the July edition of the SCN.

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE MEETINGS
The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to welcome Mr. Dennis Delderfield, the editor of the "City of London and Docklands Times" and National Chairman of "New Britain", as their guest speaker in May. Although the turnout may have been slightly disappointing, Mr. Delderfield gave an excellent and enlightening talk about Commonwealth issues, particularly concentrating upon the current situations in Gibraltar, Zimbabwe and Australia. He also gave details of events planned to celebrate Canada Day in July, and commented upon the relevance of the recent Allied victory in Iraq.
Details of the next London Swinton Circle meeting are as follows:-
Date : Tuesday 17th June 2003
Time : 18.45 hrs for 19.00 hrs.
Venue : The Thatcher Suite, Portcullis House, Westminster, London SW1.
(Opposite the Houses of Parliament, entry via the Embankment - nearest tube station: Westminster.)
Guest Speaker: The Rt. Hon. ERIC FORTH M.P., Shadow Leader of the House of Commons
Mr. Forth will be speaking on the theme of "Restoring traditional Conservative and Unionist values in the Conservative Party and in the country".
The London Swinton Circle also has two interesting meetings planned for July. On Wednesday 9th July they will be addressed at "The Clarence", 53 Whitehall, by Mr. Ashley Mote on the theme of "Britain's immigration crisis", and on Monday 14th July will be staging their summer buffet, also at "The Clarence", when the Guest of Honour will be the Rt. Hon. Ann Widdecombe M.P.

MALCOLM WREN'S "SOUL WALK"
Plans for Malcolm Wren's "Soul Walk" across southern England during July/August are now well advanced. Malcolm, widely know as the "Engelse Boer", will be doing a 150 mile walk from Avonmouth on the banks of the Severn to Gravesend on the banks of the Thames. He will be placing 1500 gold-and-green (Springbok colours) ribbons - 10 per mile - for each person, each "Soul", murdered in the vicious farm attacks which have occurred in South Africa since 1994. The purpose of this exercise is not primarily to raise funds, but rather to draw attention to the GENOCIDE campaign against South African (particularly Afrikaner) farmers which is currently taking place. We have also been pleased to learn that Malcolm will be joined for the length of his walk by another good friend of the Springbok Club, Mr. Anthony LoBaido (the highly-acclaimed American journalist), and probably by another supporter.
We hope that as many friends as possible will be able to support and encourage Malcolm and Anthony in this noble endeavour - either by joining them for part of their walk, cheering them along their way, or simply by publicising the event. Already contingents of supporters plan to see Malcolm and Anthony off at Avonmouth on 27th July, and to welcome them at Gravesend on 7th August. The full itinerary of the walk is as follows:-
26th July - send-off reception during the evening at the Swan Hotel, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
27th July - set-off from Avonmouth (Andrews Rd/Crowley Way junction), and walk to Warmley via Bristol (A4 & A420).
28th July - walk from Warmley (east Bristol) to the White Hart, Ford, Wiltshire, via the A420, Wick, Marshfield and “The Shoe”.
29th July - walk from the White Hart, Ford, Wiltshire, to the Hayle Farm Hotel, Quemerford, Wiltshire, via the A420 & A4, Chippenham and Calne.
30th July - walk from the Hayle Farm Hotel, Quemerford, Wiltshire, to the Lamb Inn, Marlborough, Wiltshire, via the A4, Beckhampton, West Kennett & Flyfield.
31st July - walk from the Lamb Inn, Marlborough, Wiltshire, to the Ramada Hotel, Halfway Inn, Berkshire, via the A4, Froxfield & Hungerford.
1st Aug. - walk from the Ramada Hotel, Halfway Inn, Berkshire, to the Little Paddocks Guest House, Aldermaston Wharf, Berkshire, via the A4, Newbury & Woolhampton.
2nd Aug. - walk from the Little Paddocks Guest House, Aldermaston Wharf, Berkshire, to the Pheasant Inn, Winnersh, Berkshire, via the A4, A329 & Reading.
3rd Aug. - walk from the Pheasant Inn, Winnersh, Berkshire, to the Ennis Lodge Guest House, Sunninghill, Berkshire (B383) via the A329, Wokingham, Bracknell & Ascot.
4th Aug. - walk from the Ennis Lodge Guest House, Sunninghill, Berkshire (B383) to the Bluebell Mansion, Fulwell Park, London (B358) via the A329, A30, A308, A316 & Staines.
5th Aug. - walk from the Bluebell Mansion, Fulwell Park (B358) to the Diana Hotel, Tulse Hill, London, via the A316 & A205, Twickenham, Richmond, East Sheen, Putney & Wandsworth.
6th Aug. - walk from the Diana Hotel, Tulse Hill, London, to the Aardvark Guest House, Bexley (A220), via the A205 & A2, Dulwich, Catford, & Eltham.
7th Aug. - walk from the Aardvark Guest House, Bexley (A220) to Gravesend, Kent, via the A2 & A227, south Dartford, Bean and Stonewood.
Each day Malcolm and Anthony aim to set out at 9.00 hrs, and to arrive at their destination during the late afternoon, with an approximate one hour’s break for lunch. If you aim to follow their route on any day then simply look out for the gold-and-green ribbons each tenth of a mile to see how far they have progressed.

Packed with conflict and sexual tension, anyone who loves romance, passion and excitement should enjoy reading this story.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
No.55 : Mr. NIGEL FORD of Banbury.
Nigel Ford was a good supporter from the Chilterns area who we have been particularly disappointed not to see at any SC Chilterns Branch meetings. A skilled artist and long-standing subscriber to S.A.Patriot, he actually drew all the art-work for the logos of both S.A.Patriot-in-Exile and the Springbok Club. When he was 'phoned shortly before the latest Chilterns Branch meeting, however, we were informed that he had moved address, but no-one knew where he was now living. His last known address was: 50 Ferriston, Arden Estate, Banbury, Oxfordshire. Needless to say we would be very keen to make contact with him again, so if anyone could let us know his new location we would be most grateful.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
LESSER BREEDS
Sir,
Many thanks for your most interesting SCN. It is just about the only form of reliable information I get these days. I trust you will bear with me if I attempt to reproduce some of the ridiculous indignities to which we, the South African TV viewers, are subjected these days. You are probably aware that before the end of 1994 an enforced change of top and medium level personnel, in both private and public sectors, took place. This very soon came to the attention of the viewing and listening public when all the White personnel to which we had become accustomed were replaced overnight by the most gruesome collection of Black nonentities you can imagine. It took me a long time to realise that this particular wind of change had also taken place in the top ranks of the public service, newspapers, financial institutions, sports bodies, etc., in fact every sphere of business and public activity you could think of, as well of all those you could not. Every day I have been expecting the same thing to occur to the Grand Lodges of Freemasonry !
So far as TV is concerned the former White anchor-men were replaced by Blacks. They have the most dreadful accents - and voices - imaginable, and their pronounciation of English is, to say the least, peculiar. Two of those I would like to heave a brick at move their heads rhythmically to the top of each shoulder in succession as they talk. Worst of all, two of them wear their hair in dirty looking ringlets way past their shoulders!
In fairness I must say that we occasionally get a civilized Black on the screen. We had an excellent man on the eight o'clock evening news. Suddenly he disappeared, as did two of the Indians. They are now with CNN!
Yours etc.,
Richard Deane, Cape Town.

EXIT STRATEGY
Sir,
Life in Zimboland is getting very tiresome to say the least. I am thinking of putting in an appeal to the USS Kitty Hawk to swing via the Mozambique Channel on their way home and discharge a few of their surplus Tomahawks down the throat of our leader. This place is a microcosm of Iraq!
Yours etc.,
MPW, Zimbabwe

BLAIR BABE
Sir,
I am an American who is not a poliltical person, but I have been watching our great President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair while they were trying to get the U.N. to agree to the War on Terrorism. I watched PM Blair fighting to get his point across, and I saw how our President and PM Blair fought for this and won. I am sorry for your losses, and ours, in this war, but I saw how well the British Troops fought during the war - they were excellent, and fighting alongside our U.S. soldiers. I would just like to tell PM Blair "thank you" for what he did to help our cause, and the world's cause, by fighting as hard as he did to convince the U.N. that he and President Bush felt this was a necessary war. It was, and now we can understand a bit better just how bad Saddam Hussein was to his own people. We also can feel safer than we have been since September 11th,
now that the coalition is in Iraq, and has control of Baghdad. The U.S. and British Soldiers did this together. I did not like to see the innocent people of Iraq die during this war, but I guess that is the price of war to get the greater good in the end. Can I
please have an e-mail address or a regular address in Britian where I can write to Prime Minister Blair, to thank him for being such a good friend to us as well as our President Bush in this War on Terrorism? I feel Prime Minister Blair was a great supporter to us in the U.S..
Yours etc.,
Silvia Howard, Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

ROGUES GALLERY
In the July 2002 edition of the SCN our "Recommended Web-Site of the Month" was for an organisation calling itself "The British Club Worldwide", which was run by a man named Arnold Parkinson, who was evidently a British expat currently living in the United States.
At the time we had no reason to doubt Mr. Parkinson's bona fides, and indeed his web-site - embellished as it was by patriotic flags and emblems - gave every impression of agreeing fully with our own aims and objectives. This has not turned out to be the case however. Our first worries were raised when Mr. Parkinson objected to what he termed our political bias, claiming that his own organisation was totally non-political. This turned out to be a lie however, for subsequent newsletters which we received from him revealed an EXTREME left-wing position. He opposed the War in Iraq, exhibited a totally paranoid hatred for President Bush, and most tellingly of all conducted continuing attacks upon what he termed "big business" (i.e. the capitalist system).
Quite clearly therefore Mr. Parkinson is a doctrinaire socialist, and to term his organisation "The British Club Worldwide" is a complete misnomer. It would be far better if he was to rename his outfit "The Socialist Club Worldwide" - or perhaps even "The Anti-British Club Worldwide"! Needless to say we can no longer recommend Mr. Parkinson's phoney web-site.
