As we reach the end of 2024 the World is clearly becoming an ever more dangerous and chaotic place. As Peter Lindsay titles his observant in-depth cyber circular, it is a “World Crisis” indeed.

Apart from the two ongoing vicious military conflicts in the Ukraine and on the borders of Israel, there is now chaos in Syria, largescale civil unrest following constitutional crises in Georgia, Romania and the Republic of Korea, and potentially catastrophic Parliamentary uncertainties in Germany, France and perhaps also in Britain. We do not believe in some of the more wacko conspiracy theories, and it is quite clear that not all of these global crises are related – but even so there are certainly some common factors at play here.

The root cause of the current worldwide instability we would argue lies in the abdication of global responsibility by the West, and here we are specifically referring to the destruction of the great European Empires post WW2, with the resulting emergence of numerous incompetent “third world” states (many of them very wealthy as a result of oil and other natural resources) and the accompanying flooding of Western countries by minions from these same “third world” states fleeing from the corruption, anarchy and incompetence in their own countries!

But all is not without hope, for on 20th January 2025 Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States with the avowed aim to “Make America Great Again”, which hopefully in reality means to “Make The West Great Again”! During his first term of office President Trump disappointed a lot of his worldwide supporters by adopting a somewhat isolationist policy and trying to suck-up to the dangerous lunatics of the DPRK, but of course this was nothing compared to the cowardly withdrawalist policies of the Biden Administration which turned Afghanistan once again into a threatening fundamentalist Islamic tyranny. Hopefully as 47th President Donald Trump will not make the same mistakes and will not only end all the unnecessary White bloodshed in the Russian/Ukrainian conflict (in reality a Russian civil war) but will also take a more forthright stance to confront and neutralise those “third world” countries posing dangers to the West.

It is to be hoped furthermore that the Trumpian revolution will spread throughout the West – particularly to the great nation-states of Western Europe. With the current Parliamentary uncertainties in both Germany and France there are strong possibilities of both the Alternative Fúr Deutschland and the Rassemblement National could be catapulted into some form of power – and as Germany and France are the “power-houses” of the EU this could spell the death-knell for this inward-looking institution. The situation is far different in the UK of course because of the continuing two-party dominance, but as recent opinion polls are showing massive increasing support for ReformUK a string of by-election victories for this party could completely change the political landscape here.

If a complete sea-change in these other Western countries could emulate that in the United States then hopefully two important global changes will soon take place. Firstly that these Western nations become as ruthless as Israel in dealing with all those who invade and try to destroy their countries, and secondly that Russia will be accepted as part of the West rather than being viewed as Asian-orientated, so that after a peace agreement is agreed with the Ukrainian separatists (which will hopefully allow them to save a bit of face) the Russian Federation will be welcomed back into the Western fold, and as a result it will realise that Communist China and Islamic Iran are as much of a threat to their own well-being as to the rest of the Western world!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club held a most successful and enlightening meeting in central London last month at which the guest speaker was Mr. Geoff Hill, the co-founder and first editor of Rhodesians Worldwide magazine and the Africa correspondent for The Washington Times and The Spectator. As this speech was given under Chatham House Rules full details about the contents cannot be given, but it can be reported that Geoff Hill informed the audience about many significant developments occurring in Southern Africa at the moment, and the probable implications of the results of the several general elections which have taken place in the sub-continent over recent months, particularly concerning the results and developments in Botswana (Bechuanaland).

The Springbok Club will be holding a special meeting in order to commemorate the Day of the Vow later this month, the details of which are as follows :-

At this meeting Springbok Club committee member Mr. Gavin Sandeman will give an informal talk about the life and adventures of his great friend and colleague Mr. Peter Fisher, the Honorary President of the Springbok Club.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The Patriotic Forum will be holding an event in late January 2025 to celebrate both Burns’ Night and Australia Day, and in February will be staging a gathering to celebrate New Zealand Day. Later during the year it will hold meetings to be addressed by a prominent member of the ReformUK party, an acclaimed author and by a leading official of an important patriotic political think-tank. In spite being somewhat dormant as far as gatherings have been concerned for the past few months, the Patriotic Forum has still been issuing regular informative e-mail circulars regarding current national and international developments under the auspices of its Patriotic Forum Circulation Service. MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL

We have recently received the following most disturbing report from the Animal Survival International organisation about the plight of elephants in “Zimbabwe”. It reads as follows:-

“Two elephants in Zimbabwe are in life-threatening situations as you read this. Each has fallen victim to cruel wire snares - torture devices that cut dangerously deep into the flesh, cause severe tissue damage and likely leave the animal in agony.

“The elephants - members of two separate herds roaming the vast Lake Kariba region - were spotted by our partner, the Bumi Hills Anti-Poaching Unit (BHAPU), and the team they are working with, Kariba Animal Welfare Fund Trust (KAWFT). One of the animals is an eight-year-old female with a snare around her ear and tusk, while the other is a calf - estimated to be just a year old - who has a snare wound tightly around its back leg which is probably causing great pain.

“Already, the snare has caused significant damage to the elder elephant: there is a terrible wound behind her ear where the snare is embedded, affecting its use and causing the ear to collapse forward.

“If these elephants are not rescued and treated SOON, they could suffer life-altering injuries, be captured by predators, or die as a result of infection. We need your help right now - and here is why…

“It is a race against time to help two snared elephants – one still a calf – and your donation right now could make a life-or-death difference.

“To help these animals, our team must dart and tranquilize them first - but the elephants are extremely difficult to target from the ground. They are wild, elusive, and largely hidden in the vast, densely wooded area they are roaming.

“The most effective way to dart them, therefore, will be from above. Our team urgently needs to charter a helicopter and pilot so they can spot the animals from the sky and dart them, but they cannot fund this alone. And this is where we need your help as fast as possible.

“A helicopter approach is the safest way to track and dart the injured skittish elephants. Trying from the ground means being attacked by an irate mother who does not know we are there to help and will kill to help her injured calf. To save the calf, a helicopter is the only option and we need help to hire one.

“Snares act like nooses, slowly cutting into the flesh and causing more damage every day. With each passing moment, these elephants are at great risk of losing body parts, making them vulnerable to predators, infection and even death.

“Your support right now could be the difference between life and death for these snared animals - integral members of their herds. Elephants live in tightly bonded, female-led herds, and the death of this individual would devastate the herd. Elephants have been proven to grieve their dead, and if it is the matriarch who dies, the herd may dissolve.

“If we can come together to raise $12,000 (roughly £9,469) we can hire a helicopter and a pilot to provide the crucial capture kits and supplies needed to undertake the emergency treatment these elephants urgently need. The greater the delay, the greater the risk to their survival.

“We anticipate that the other elephants in the herds will try to protect their kin from human interference, which means our team must execute the rescue with military precision and the highest level of care.

“Once an elephant has been successfully darted from the air, our team will rush in, carefully remove the snare and treat the injury. The sedative drug will then be reversed, and the elephant will be monitored until it is steady on its feet and ready to rejoin its herd.

“Our teams are preparing to mobilize at a moment’s notice and are monitoring both elephants' movements, so they do not lose sight of them. All they need now is the funding to charter the helicopter.

“It is critical that we raise the funds because these badly injured elephants really need our help.

Between 2001 and 2014, an estimated 12,000 elephants were slaughtered here for their tusks - a staggering 40% of their population. SOCCER CAPTAINS REFUSE TO WEAR DEGENERATE ARMBANDS

For several years now “Stonewall” (a sinister pressure group which attempts to promote the acceptance of sexual depravity) has been applying pressure on various sporting authorities to display their perverted “rainbow” colour-schemes on various items of sporting equipment and apparel. The Football Association’s Premier League has been one of the most prominent sporting governing bodies to have meekly acquiesced to this pernicious pressure by ordering all the captains of Premier League clubs to wear captain’s armbands in the degenerate “rainbow” colour-scheme for one weekend’s fixtures each season.

Last year the Sheffield United captain, Anel Ahmedhodzic, courageously defied the Premier League’s instruction in this regard, and this year the Ipswich Town captain, Sam Morsy, bravely did likewise, with the Crystal Palace captain, Marc Guehi, defiantly defacing his armband with the words “Jesus Loves You”. Although all three of these brave captains were evidently influenced by their Christian and Muslim religious beliefs, all – or certainly most – of the world’s major religions, both ancient and modern, regard homosexuality as a sin, so why therefore haven’t there been more Premier League captains to have +the courage to refuse to comply with this disgusting instruction?

All sports, particularly Association Football, appeal primarily to the youngest and therefore most susceptible members of society, so therefore the Premier League’s willingness to encourage predatory homosexuals to prey upon them must be regarded as sickening in the extreme. Can they not remember the likes of Barry Bennell!?!

PETER DIMMOCK MEMORIAL AWARDS 2024

STATUE OF QUEEN ELIZABETH

Even though it is now over two years since Queen Elizabeth died there has still been no plan for an official national statue of her announced, let alone erected! To be sure there have been several local statues unveiled around the country, but no official national statue in the capital. There have however been many mutterings that such a statue should be of an equine form and situated on the long-vacant fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square. This we believe would be a splendid idea, as it would not only emphasise the late Queen’s lifelong love of horses, but would also put an end to the succession of ridiculous – and in many cases offensive – exhibits which have been desecrating the fourth plinth for the past few years. Alas there seems to be no official co-ordinated campaign advocating this step. The Patriotic Forum is more than keen to give its full support to such a campaign if one can be co-ordinated.

We have recently been sent the following most interesting posting from a number of sources on FaceBook :-

“Scientists now believe that up to a fifth of sub-saharan DNA comes from Homo Erectus, a hominin that never invented anything for a million years. After the interbreeding event with homo sapiens 50,000 years ago, the resulting negroid population have never invented anything either, except for the bone harpoon. Even bows and arrows were invented in Europe and Asia, where some of the homo sapiens population had emigrated at the same time as the interbreeding event further south. The northerners may have been helped by limited interbreeding with Neanderthals - Europeans have up to 3% of their DNA - but it looks likely that a high Homo Erectus element in their bloodline is what has held black Africans back.”

This posting seems to be extremely well researched and bears all the hall-marks of scientific authenticity, as well as confirming that which is patently obvious from personal observations. Alas however this posting contains no information about its original source, which therefore makes it very awkward to re-circulate. If anyone could tell us where this extract was first published then we would be most grateful.

No.313: Mr. SPENCER SALZMAN of Durban

Spencer Salzman was the younger brother of Jenny Salzman (see May 2007 SCN). He was introduced to Patriotic Forum circles in Durban during the late 1980s by his sister, and became increasingly enthusiastic about the South African patriotic cause. Alas the country fell shortly after he first became involved, and as our movement was forced to re-locate to the UK shortly after this contact with him was unfortunately lost. It would however be very interesting to learn where he is now.

LIBERALE GEVAAR

Australia is so lucky geographically to be surrounded by water. They can stop the boats and the hordes. How tragic it is that the Whites of South Africa are now 4 million in a sea of 60 million non-Whites, yet the former still keep the latter and the whole country afloat.

A book will soon appear showing how and why this occur red, and how liberalism made it all happen. Never underestimate the role played by genetics in human history. Britain’s one and only Jewish prime minister Benjamin Disraeli said that “he who does not understand race does not understand politics”. His sayings are many and very wise.

Britain is now buckling under the racial “demands” for a more “transformative” and “diverse” nursing profession, police force, parliamentary representatives, academics quotas and so forth, ad infinitum. The demands will keep coming make no mistake. Once you capitulate on one front, the rest can’t be far behind. I look at Britain today and wonder if there is such a thing as divine retribution, after what the British government did to the Whites of Southern Africa.

Liberalism is relentless, insistent and non-negotiable. Liberals are infused with a fierce determination to get their way, come what may. Look at Biden and the three million aliens he let in, all to be looked after in “sanctuary cities”. Not in his city of course. His successor lost on the “immigration” issue in the November election - although it’s not immigration, it’s an invasion! Liberals always learn the hard way, and usually there is no going back, at least in South Africa’s situation. We all have to pay the price for the destructive policies of the White “progressives” who helped the ANC to power. We’re all in the quicksand together.

WHERE ARE THEY ALL NOW?

In edition No.37 of S.A.Patriot-in-Exile (now re-branded as The Imperial Patriot of course) we carried an article about the British political party called the National Party of the United Kingdom (NPUK). In a nutshell this was an authentic patriotic party which had broken away from the National Front at the end of 1975 after the latter had been infiltrated and taken over by a clique of neo-fascists.

Although the NPUK was alas short-lived it did however have a lasting influence on the British political scene, firstly by advocating a policy which it described as “de-nationalisation”, which came to fruition as the policy of “privatisation” under Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative Government, and secondly by promoting a policy of “neo-Imperialism” (seeking closer relationships with the nations of the old White Commonwealth and re-asserting Britain’s influence in its former colonial possessions) – a policy which of course our movement still advocates today.

Alas a combination of factors – lack of financial resources and the fact that the Thatcher Government had “stolen” so many of their policies! – meant that the party folded in 1980, and although many of its members re-joined the Conservative Party and/or became involved with other political pressure groups, particularly those opposing Britain’s EU membership, the NPUK as such was never revived.

Come the birth of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) in the 1990s however many former NPUK members gravitated towards this new similar party, but now, 25 or so years later, after UKIP have been triumphant in ensuring Britain’s exit from the EU (“Brexit”) and has metamorphosised into the ReformUK party, former NPUK activists seem nowhere to be seen! Many of the party’s leading figures, such as leader John Kingsley Read, David “Dave” McCalden, Harry Tuff and Mickey Baker, are now sadly dead of course – but where are the rest of its former leading activists – people such as Richard “Rick” Lawson, Steve Brady, Sam “Charlie” Simpson, David Kerr, Joan Sandland, Paul Kingsley, Syd Porter, Jim Turner, John Challen and Clive Lucas, most of whom were only in their 20s during the 1970s and so are therefore probably still alive today?

With Brexit now secured and ReformUK on the ascendancy their active participation in the party is now surely more needed than ever – particularly to advocate a more forthright neo-Imperialist policy as the country’s destiny! Needless to say, if anyone could enlighten us about the current whereabouts of any of these people we would be most grateful.

When Donald J. Trump won the US Presidential Election in 2016 he won 30 states resulting in 304 Electoral College votes and 46.1% of the popular votes. Even though the precise result of the 2020 US Presidential Election is still disputed because of widescale suspicions of electoral fraud, it is still clear that he didn’t perform quite as well as in 2016. In 2024 however he carried 31 states resulting in 312 Electoral College votes and 50.5% of the popular vote. This was not only a magnificent personal achievement and a vote of confidence in President Trump himself, but it also reflected a massive sea-change in the American and international zeitgeist.

President Trump’s return to power will not only have enormous beneficial effects for the United States – a substantial economic uplift through tariff reforms and the dropping of all the ridiculous “net zero” regulations, and an effective halting of illegal immigration and the repatriation of illegal immigrants already in the country – but will also herald huge positive changes in the international arena. The fratricidal military conflict in the Ukraine will probably swiftly be brought to an end and Israel will be supported far more forthrightly in its battles against Islamic terrorism.

But Donald Trump’s glorious victory in the United States should not be viewed in isolation. Across the West patriotic forces are clearly now on the ascendancy. Patriotic “right of centre” governments are already in place in Hungary and Italy, and the current coalition government in New Zealand is certainly a lot preferable to its predecessor! In the Netherlands both the Partij Voor de Vrijheid and the Boer Burger Beweging now hold prominent positions in government, and in France the Rassemblement National seems to be on the verge of power. Even in the UK, where the “first past the post” electoral system makes advancement for new parties very difficult, ReformUK made a very significant break-through at the recent General Election, and with the ruling Labour Party already in deep trouble and split down the middle (particularly over how to deal with President Trump!) and the Conservative Party seeming to have committed suicide by farcically electing a negress foreigner as leader, it would seem that ReformUK could be far closer to power than was thought possible. The dark despondent era when “wokism” seemed to be entrenched globally from the 1990s until very recently now seems to be drawing to an end therefore, and Donald Trump’s great victory could have an even more encouraging knock-on effect throughout the West in this regard.

Now therefore is a time to rejoice – and to rejoice eagerly – but not for too long nor to the detriment of all else, as there is still much work to be done. Donald Trump’s victory must be an inspiration to all patriots - not to sit back on their laurels, but to re-double their efforts!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

Last month the Springbok Club organised the annual "Raising of the Flag" ceremony, which this year took place at Fox Corner near Guildford in Surrey, the place where Frederick Courteney Selous (after whom the Rhodesian Selous Scouts Regiment was of course named) lived for most of his married life. After rendezvousing at the Fox Inn the Springbok Club party assembled outside the near-by house where Frederick Courteney Selous had lived, and here Sgt. Graham Gillmore (ex-Grenadier Guards, RLI and South African Pathfinders Company), the Parade Commander, supervised the ceremony. The Union Flag was raised by Miss Sarah Mort and the Rhodesian Flag by Miss Hannah Mort, after which the current Springbok Club chairman said a few words about the legacy of Frederick Courteney Selous, followed by the singing of both the British and the Rhodesian National Anthems. Toasts in Sandeman's Port were then raised to the King and Queen, the immortal memories of Frederick Courteney Selous and Peter Sladden, and to all those who had fought and died for the Rhodesian cause. The Springbok Club party then returned to the Fox Inn where Mr. Gary Vincent presented the second part of his PowerPoint trilogy about the life and career of Frederick Courteney Selous, and where - surprisingly - they were joined by members of the Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir, who gave some splendid renditions of tradition Welsh hymns and arias at the bar, to round off a truly inspiring and memorable day!

Geoff Hill was the co-founder and the first editor of Rhodesians Worldwide magazine. For more than two decades Geoff Hill has worked as chief Africa correspondent for The Washington Times, and writes regularly for The Spectator. He was also the first non-American to win a John Steinbeck Award for his work.

Geoff was the guest speaker at the Springbok Club's April meeting when we enjoyed our biggest attendance for a long time, and he certainly didn't disappoint as he gave a "closed door" briefing on events in Southern Africa, which ended with a standing ovation and a volume of questions, all of which he was happy to answer.

A lot has changed since then in Southern Africa, including elections in South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana (which has resulted in a new government).

The future however remains uncertain. Russia and China are playing a long game across the region, and Islamic State seems to be winning the war in northern Mozambique. Britain and the United States are doing their best to keep up, but both have new leaders with little grasp of the region.

Much of what Geoff shared with us in April never makes the news, and so once again Chatham House Rules will apply.

The following report which we have received from the Animal Survival International organisation about the plight of rhinos in the “new” South Africa causes great worries. It reads as follows:-

“An orphaned rhino calf barely survived an attack by hyenas after losing his mother to poachers. He needs your immediate support for life-saving veterinary care and rehabilitation.

“As the African rhino poaching crisis continues to wipe out animal populations across the country, its latest victim - just 18 months old - is fighting for his life.

“Now named Bavati, the young calf was orphaned when his mother was slaughtered by poachers, effectively leaving him for dead as rhino calves can suckle for up to two years and cannot fend for themselves without their primary caregiver.

“Defenceless and surely confused, he was then pursued by a clan of hyenas who sensed his weakness. Without his mother to protect him, Bavati was attacked, his face and tail badly injured by the pack. It is miraculous that the calf survived the attack, but now, he needs more than a miracle to pull through - he needs YOU,

“The young bull calf was already experiencing unimaginable pain following the traumatic loss of his mother. As if he had not suffered enough, he was then chased and severely injured by hyenas!

“When a mother rhino is poached, her calf will often die soon afterward due to injuries inflicted by poachers, attacks by lions or hyenas, or starvation. This compounds an already escalating crisis as rhino numbers fall and further hampers the regeneration of this widely hunted species.

“As soon as our partner, the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary (CFW), was alerted to Bavati’s case, they rushed to the scene with a team of wildlife vets. They found that the hyena wounds to his face and tail had become infected, and he was in critical condition. He was given emergency on-site treatment before being carefully loaded into a transportation crate for his journey back to Care for Wild (in an undisclosed location – for his safety).

“Bavati was found alive with a raging infection from his hyena-inflicted wounds and is currently fighting for his life.

“The calf is still extremely vulnerable at this stage and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. With your support right now, we can cover the cost of his urgent veterinary care and long-term rehabilitation. His will be a long road to recovery, and for a species under immense threat from poaching, every life counts.

“Bavati is the latest in a long line of poaching victims in South Africa. Official poaching statistics from South Africa's Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE) reveals that 448 rhinos were killed in 2022 alone. Research shows a rhino is killed in South Africa every 20 hours.

“In 2021, you stood with us and helped rush emergency, life-saving funds to CFW following their rescue of FOUR rhino calves orphaned by poaching within just days of each other, including 12-hour-old Daisy, who, thanks to your support, received the care she needed to pull through.

“Right now, Bavati urgently needs the very same support if he is to have a chance of recovery.

“If we can raise $7,000 (£5,650), we can cover Bavati’s costly medical treatment, including wound care, pain relief, antibiotics, and ongoing blood tests to help CFW monitor his health and prolonged recovery.

SAFEGUARD WOMEN’S SPORT

According to the United Nations report, "Violence Against Women and Girls in Sports," transgender (i.e. perverted men masquerading as women) athletes have won 890 medals in 29 different women's sports up until March 2024. This disgusting and truly shocking state of affairs – particularly when it involves physical-contact sports – can surely not be allowed to continue, and the various sporting authorities around the world must act to ensure that only those who are indisputably female (i.e. those who do not have a “Y” sex chromosome) are allowed to compete in female-only sporting competitions.

But there is alas something even more insidious affecting much of women’s sport today. There currently seems to be a high proportion of women who identify as lesbians (i.e. women who form unnatural intimate relationships with other women) in leading administrative and playing roles throughout women’s sport. They are of course part of the so-called “LGBT+” movement (where the “L” stands for “lesbian” and the “T” stands for “transgender”), and so therefore seem to be in close liaison with those perverted men who are undermining the very sanctity of the female sports which they are supposed to be safeguarding. Surely young girls around the world deserve to be able to experience the joys of sporting competitions without becoming prey not only for perverted men, but also for these invariably predatory perverted women.

SOUND WORDS FROM RUPERT EVERETT

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October Rupert Everett, the award-winning actor, stated “I have a great affection for all the stories of the [British] Empire”, adding that he found “a great romance” in the history of the European empires established worldwide since the 15th century. He then went on to say “The men in my family were all kind of empire-rulers, kind of military, naval, brisk. They loved doing very macho things like mowing and sailing and those things”.

Given that Everett was brought up and educated as a Roman Catholic, and holds some very liberal views on social matters, these patriotic pro-Imperial opinions which he has recently expressed are even more surprising. Perhaps this is therefore yet another example of the way that the wind is blowing!

MORE WISE WORDS FROM BERNARD-HENRI LEVI

In the editorial of the August 2020 Edition of the SCN we praised the renowned French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy for his incisive book “The Virus in the Age of Madness”, the crux of which was that the Covid-19 crisis was not so much a “pandemic of a virus” but was rather a “pandemic of fear – a pandemic of panic”.

Now comes news that Bernard-Henri Levi has published another book which has led to further sustained criticism of him by the “woke brigade”. This book, entitled “Israel Alone”, argues forcefully that although many Western countries pay lip-service towards support for Israel in its battles against Islamic terrorism, they only want Israel to survive and not to win the war – and thereby cause huge potential problems for themselves against the same fundamental foe in the future.

We may not agree with every opinion which Bernard-Henri Levi has advocated in the past, but now following his admirable stance regarding the Covid-1984 paranoia as expressed in “The Virus in the Age of Madness” we again find ourselves in full agreement with his views as expressed in “Israel Alone”. No.312: Mr. KEITH HULSE of Stoke-on-Trent and Durban

In the tail-piece article of last month’s SCN, “Remembering the Magoo Bar Bombing”, we mentioned Mr. Keith Hulse who had been badly injured in this ANC terrorist atrocity. Keith Hulse was born at Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire where he was a friend of Alan and Peter Mountford (see March 2003 and July 2023 SCNs) and was encouraged by them to emigrate to South Africa, where he settled in Durban and became a keen “member” of the “Roper Set” (see August 2016 SCN and The Imperial Patriot No.40). Like most of those associated with the “Roper Set” he was an avid sportsman, excelling in Marathon Running (he gained silver medals in the Comrades Marathon on several occasions). Alas contact with him ceased when we were forced to re-locate to the UK in 1990, but we would imagine that like most other British immigrants he returned to the UK after the ANC were handed power. It would however be good to be able to hear from him again.

BRIDGING THE CHASM

I am sure you would find Andrew Bridgen a most interesting speaker. He has been honest and consistent in standing up for the truth.

As you rightly point out, Reform UK continues to advance. I can see why decent Tories are in a quandary: the Tories are such a broad church that the party really cannot continue in its present form. The divergence which goes back to the 1970s has become a chasm. Half of their MPs would be better off as Lib Dims. There are more than enough other parties catering for people who like woke, mass immigration and being bossed around by big government. If the Tories can't offer a clear alternative suitable to people such as you and me, there is no point to their existence - it's a simple as that. They have only themselves to blame for ReformUK's surge. I still think the final shape of the centre right is impossible to predict. We really need a younger person who can attract the young, like Jordan Bardella in France. If ReformUK could find (and promote) a young person with charisma who was a cross between Geert Wilders, Viktor Orban and Javier Milei, that would be a game changer.

REMEMBERING TOM NOBBS

Tom Nobbs was a Rhodesian who served in the Selous Scouts Regiment. He was injured during the early years of the Bush War however, and relocated to the U.K. as a result, where he often proudly wore his Selous Scout’s blazer. His patriotic zeal did not desert him once he had settled in his British ancestral homeland however, and he joined and became an active member of the Dartford Branch of the National Front. (It must be emphasised however that this was in the days when the National Front was still a mainstream democratic party, and before it was infiltrated and taken over by a cadre of neo-fascists).

He attended a public meeting of the NF held at Chatham Town Hall in 1975, which – in spite of the fact that the party was still then a democratic mainstream party – was being subjected to protests by an extreme-Leftist mob. Seeing a seemingly more violent section of the mob approaching towards a side-door with the apparent intention of breaking into the meeting Tom picked up a beer bottle and bravely confronted them. The Leftist mob realised that he meant business and fortunately backed away.

After the takeover of the NF by the neo-fascist clique Tom, along with most of the true membership, left in order to join the genuinely patriotic National Party of the United Kingdom. Sadly his poor health as a result of his service on the front-line of the West’s struggle against Communist terrorism caught up with him, and he died a few years later. It is known that Tom was married, but it is not certain whether he had any children. Tom Nobbs was clearly a brave patriot however, and he should not be forgotten. If any reader knows any more detailed information about his life and career in the Selous Scouts then we would of course be very keen to learn about it.

Although this has probably been said at all recent U.S. Presidential elections, the fact remains that with two vicious military conflicts taking place in the world at the moment this year’s U.S. Presidential Election is more vital than ever.

The 2020 Presidential Election was shrouded in controversy, with allegations of electoral fraud being levelled both concerning the reliability of the Dominion Voting Machines and regarding voter impersonation. If in just three states where the most compelling allegations of irregular voting practices took place, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan, the result had gone the other way then President Donald J. Trump would have been re-elected, and the world would now be a far different – and we would maintain a far better – place.

At the time of writing polls suggest that this year’s result will be very close, but with all the Covid-1984 restrictions now having disappeared (something which many believe enabled the irregularities of 2020 to take place) and the fact that GOP officials will be watching far more vigilantly for any “dirty tricks” by Donkey Party supporters, it therefore seems highly unlikely that the alleged fraudulent practices of 2020 will again be able to take place. An analysis of opinion polls suggests that the national outcome will all depend upon the result in Pennsylvania, and for this reason we hope and pray that especially in this state all patriotic citizens will make every effort to maximise the vote for the Trump/Vance ticket.

It is not only in the United States itself where all must be hoping that the Trump/Vance ticket is victorious however. President Joe Biden has clearly been suffering from dementia for several years, and this has of course presented great potential dangers to the whole of the Western World. He has only been lukewarm in his support for Israel in their battle against

Islamic terrorism, and furthermore has taken a regrettably biased stance regarding the tragic fratricidal conflict in the Ukraine. His chosen successor Kamala Harris seems to be way out of her depth however, and being an ethnic mongrel is highly unlikely to put the interests of the West first.

To be sure President Donald J. Trump’s first term in office did not all go perfectly, but his team clearly learnt from their early mistakes, and at the end of his first term he offered great hope for the future of the West – something which our enemies clearly realised and were eager to stymie. This hope for the future is now alive again as he strives for a second term in office. It is not only the United States itself which stands to gain from a renewed economic competence as he “puts America first” and attempts to stop the massive invasion by alien immigrants across the southern border, but also the rest of the Western World as a whole. He has vowed to stop the tragic conflict in the Ukraine “on day one” and will undoubtedly take a far more forthright stance in support of Israel and in order to liberate the people of Persia by crushing the mad mullahs of Iran. If Donald J. Trump is re-elected then the days ahead will clearly inspire us.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club held a most successful and encouraging gathering during September at a venue in central London. At this event Gary Vincent gave a re-showing of his PowerPoint presentation about the early life of Frederick Courtney Selous, after which Susan Gordon gave a very interesting report-back about a dynamic patriotic festival which she had attended during July in central London. This was then followed by a most fruitful open discussion about the future of the patriotic struggle in the UK, and the part which our broader movement could play in this.

The Springbok Club will be organising this year's "Raising of the Flag" ceremony on Saturday 19th October. This will actually be a joint-event held to dovetail with the second phase of the Springbok Club's trilogy of events to commemorate the life and achievements of Frederick Courteney Selous, after whom the elite Rhodesian regiment, the Selous Scouts, was of course named. Details of this year's event are as follows :- Date : Saturday 19th October 2024.

Rendezvous venue : The Fox Inn, Fox Corner, Guildford Road, Pirbright, Nr. Guildford, Surrey, GU3 3PP.

Rendezvous times : between 13.00 hrs and 14.00 hrs.

After rendezvousing at The Fox Inn, where a fine selection of real ales will be available, the Springbok Club party will move on at approximately 15.00 hrs to the near-by estate where Frederick Courteney Selous spent most of his married life, Heatherside, where the traditional "Raising of the Flag" ceremony will take place. This will consist of the raisings of both the Union and Rhodesian Flags, the singing of both the British and Rhodesian National Anthems, a short speech giving honour to Frederick Courteney Selous, and the drinking of toasts to the immortal memories of Frederick Courteney Selous, Peter Sladden and all those who fought and died for the Rhodesian cause during the country's history with Sandeman's Port.

After the ceremony the Springbok Club party will adjourn back to The Fox Inn where Mr. Gary Vincent will give the second part of his PowerPoint presentation about the life and achievements of Frederick Courteney Selous, and where a sumptuous meal will be available.

Although there will be no charge for attending this event, we do ask that all those intending to attend to inform us in advance so that numbers can be gauged accordingly. We trust therefore that all supporters will make every effort to attend this important and inspiring ceremony, and will also bear in mind that organising such an event, particularly the publishing of the wee programme by Patriotic Press to mark the occasion, entails a fair number of expenses. “It pains us to tell you that they have encountered dogs who had been doused with gasoline and set alight, stoned, and even hacked with machetes.

“As animal lovers, it is unimaginable to us that there are people who treat innocent animals with such sickening cruelty. We are determined to show these poor creatures that not all humans are devoid of kindness. Please, will you help us?

“One of the most critical needs in Nairobi is animal sterilization. The KSPCA runs spay and neuter campaigns in poor areas but receives absolutely no government support, and funds are extremely low. This tireless team desperately needs our help to continue their vital work.

“We have promised to help in a community bordering Kibera - the largest and poorest slum in Africa. If we can raise $5,000 (£4,360), we can kickstart this critical project to spare the helpless animals of Nairobi from lives of unspeakable anguish and abuse. THE AMERICA’S CUP

This year’s America’s Cup competition in Barcelona has already produced some quite exciting racing, with Britain’s Ineos Britannia winning the Louis Vuitton Cup and thereby qualifying to challenge the holders New Zealand’s Emirates Team New Zealand in the final for the actual America’s Cup itself (though at the time of writing the outcome of this is still undecided).

Even though the AC75 class of yacht with its twin hydrofoils has produced some very fast and entertaining races, we would argue that this is not what the original America’s Cup was all about – and is not what it should be all about today. The first race in this competition, when it was called the “Royal Yacht Squadron’s £100 Cup”, comprised of a single circuit around the Isle of Wight, and was won by the New York Yacht Club’s J-Class Gaff Schooner America – hence its subsequent name. The New York Yacht Club subsequently put out a challenge to all-comers around the world to compete for the Cup, but the venue for these challenges and the class of yacht were not specifically stated.

Surely it would be a far better idea if the Louis Vuitton Cup was to become the premier international competition for the most advanced classes of modern twin hydrofoils, whereas the America’s Cup should revert to being a single race around the Isle of Wight in J-Class Schooners for all-comers?

STAND BY THE CHAGOS ISLANDS!

Of all the controversial actions of the Starmer Labour Government, undoubtedly the most despicable has been their attempted surrender of the British Indian Ocean Overseas Territory of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. The Chagos Islands are approximately 1362 miles away from Mauritius, and the only dubious claim which the Mauritian authorities have to the islands is that when Mauritius was also a British colony the islands were administered from Port Louis! It must also be remembered of course that the vast majority of the Chagosian people (some of whom currently live in enforced exile in the UK) wish to remain a British Overseas Territory, and are highly suspicious of Mauritian intentions.

It is not only that the island of Diego Garcia is a strategically important military base for Britain (and indeed for the West as a whole) which makes this attempted sell-out of the islands such a treasonable act, but also because if the they cease to be a sovereign British Overseas Territory (colony) then for the first time in some 250 years “The Sun will Set on the British Empire”!

Before we blame the current Starmer Labour Government too much for this attempted act of treason it must be remembered that the wheels were set in motion for this surrender of sovereignty by the previous so-called Conservative Government, when James Cleverly was briefly Foreign Secretary. As Cleverly is of Negro (Sierra Leonean) ethnic origin perhaps it is not surprising therefore that he has little feelings for Britain and its Imperial obligations!

It is now essential that all British patriots protest as strongly as possible against this disgusting attempted sell-out of our territory, and to give their full support to the Chagosian people in their desire to remain under benevolent British administration.

Although we never met Mnr. J.J. Sir,

I'm passing this on as you may have an interest in or concerns about people trafficking and international migration. It is big business. Many millions are involved and I mean people as well as $$$$ !

So much of the illegal movement of people could have been stopped many, many years ago as the business and the routes were exposed by investigative journalists and insiders. My naive questions always were "Why does the government not close down these routes?”, “Why does it not return the illegals discovered?”, “Why does it not track down and expose the traffickers?”.

I’ve recently received an item from a group based in Arizona, but it could have come from many other countries. Anyone able to pay the traffickers to get them to the US, UK, EU, or here in Canada then it is very easy indeed to apply for asylum as so many in so very many countries suffer from persecution, discrimination, political/religious oppression, a complete absence of human rights, no access to a lawyer, civil unrest, local conflicts etc. One does not say that "I am fleeing from poverty"!

South Africa is now the sh*t-hole nation of terrorists. I recently came across this posting from some idiots who left U.K. after 25 years to return to live in “Azania” :-

SHELL SHOCK

Sir,

I have been doing my usual morning research. Today, I looked into President Biden's $90 Billion request to rush more arms to the Ukraine. As of late December, 2023, here's just how bad off America is:

Now out of their usual 152 mm shells, the Ukraine has been firing at least 110,000 155-mm American shells per month, really needs to fire at least 356,000 such shells per month as a minimum, and wants to fire about 600,000 per month. The USA itself produces only 28,000 per month, meaning the Ukraine expends what we ourselves build in a year - and worse, now Israel also needs 155-mm shells, and we're presently too low for our own defence, so Israel may not get any.

Worse: Fiscal procurement documents show that the numbers of Joint Direct Attack Munitions and Small Diameter Bombs - both needed by Israel - only totalled about 2,000 and 3,000 respectively - less than Israel already fired in a week.

Worser: A January CSIS report I have shows that the USA would run out of all critical munitions that it had then within only 8 days of high-intensity war in the Taiwan Strait.

That means that, as of today, the USA cannot fight in a three-region war or really sustain our two-front war [Ukraine & Israel], cannot sustain a major escalation in the Middle East, and if China does go into Taiwan then South Korea would likely be invaded and the Second Greater Pacific Conflict would turn the region into a shooting gallery.

Worser-Worser: The Navy only procured 70 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles last year, per the 2024 Defence Budget freely available on the net. That means if all of the Navy's ships were deployed, the 2023 procurement only allocates each ship 0.96 of a single Tomahawk. The same report also shows that the USA only procured 58 MK-48 torpedoes; meaning that if all 22 of America's Virginia Class subs were in use, the entire procurement would not be enough to reload their 88 torpedo bays even once.

Worser-Worser-&-Worser: The U.S. Military Inventory suggests that America only has about 4,000 Tomahawk Missiles. If so, that means that the U.S. Navy cannot even reload all of its ships at once - they can only fire 2,300 at a time and they can only fire once in a major conflict.

Worstest: The 2015 $305 Million USD Lockheed Martin contract for Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles means America only had about 3,000 such missiles (with several hundred used in combat now) and you only have about 120 Long-Range Anti-Ship Missiles.

My Conclusion: When I told you 16 months ago that the USA needs 13 months to match what Russia builds in only 30 days because of America's foolish outsourcing of all manufacturing, I was correct. When Ross Perot warned us in 1996 that we would face global conflict a few decades after all of the upfront money from outsourcing of manufacturing had been reaped, he was entirely correct - and, now that Poland and Germany finally realise that folks like me were right to predict a loss over the past 15 months or so, they are foolishly and openly talking about a direct war with Russia, but they don't build anything, either.

...this shall end very badly.

REMEMBERING THE MAGOO BAR BOMBING

On 14th June 1986 a car bomb exploded outside the popular Magoo’s Bar of the Parade Hotel on Durban’s beachfront. It killed three women, Angelique Pattenden, Julie van der Linde and Marchelle Gerrard, and injured 73 other people.

Among those injured was Keith Hulse, a British immigrant from Stoke-on-Trent and a close friend of several of those actively involved in the patriotic movement in the city. Keith was rushed to the near-by Addington Hospital by his close colleague and leading member of “The Roper Set” Alan Mountford (see “Where are they now?” section of the March 2003 SCN) in his car, even though three of its tyres had been flattened by the blast. Alan’s brave and quick-thinking action probably saved Keith’s life. A true hero of our times!

The evil perpetrator of this bombing was subsequently discovered to be a certain Robert McBride, the Coloured grandson of the notorious IRA terrorist operative from the 1930s Sean McBride, who subsequently became a delegate of the Republic of Ireland to the United Nations, and then elected by the UN General Assembly to the post of “High Commissioner” for South-West Africa – a territory which he unilaterally renamed “Namibia”! McBride jnr. was arrested, tried, found guilty and rightly sentenced to be hanged for his part in the Magoo’s Bar atrocity. Alas however the handover of power in South Africa to the ANC terrorist regime meant that not only was the demonic McBride’s death sentence commuted, but he was even granted an amnesty and released from jail!

The ANC terrorists look after their own however, and following their ascent to power McBride jnr. was appointed chief of the Ekuhuleni [sic] Metro Police. This appointment did not last for long however, for following an incident at the end of 2006 he was convicted of drunken driving and defeating the ends of justice and dismissed from the force (see “Interesting Beeld Report” in October 2007 SCN). In spite of this conviction he was appointed Executive Director of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate in February 2014! He was however suspended from this position by the Minister of Police in March 2015 following allegations that he had been involved in gun-running into South Africa, with the apparent intention of assassinating leading members of Inkatha, including Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, though no charges were evidently brought against him in this regard for some unknown reason. He was finally appointed as Head of the Foreign Branch of the State Security Agency in July 2020, but this appointment also didn’t last long as in 2022 he was suspended following the capture of four South African “spies” in Mozambique, and the subsequent diplomatic protests which were made by the Mozambique Government.

The Magoo Bar bombing must therefore never be forgotten for three important reasons. Firstly we should always remember the three innocent women killed in this outrage, as also we should always remember the heroism of the likes of Alan Mountford. Secondly it demonstrated the close international terrorist links between IRA terrorism and ANC terrorism, and proved that such links are often genetic. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it demonstrated that pure evil exists in this world in the form of the likes of Robert McBride, who no matter how many “second chances” they are given still revert to satanic criminality time and time again.

There has probably never been a British Prime Minister who has descended so quickly in popularity than Sir Keir Starmer. Even though he came to power with a massive majority and much goodwill barely three months ago, one only has to see the extent of the hatred for him which is so widely expressed on social media to realise just how rapidly and thoroughly his initial approval rating has plummeted.

When other Labour Prime Ministers came to power through General Election victories their popularity remained high for a considerable time, even though they pursued policies which were most detrimental to the well-being of the British nation and people. Clement Attlee never experienced any significant slump in his ratings following his landslide victory in 1945 even though he betrayed the British Empire and enacted the economically ruinous nationalisation programme, and indeed still clung onto power five years later; Harold Wilson, perhaps the most evil character ever to enter 10 Downing Street, greatly increased his majority in the snap General Election which he called 18 months after his initial victory; and Sir Tony Blair managed to win two subsequent General Elections on the trot after his initial landslide of 1997. So why therefore has Sir Keir Starmer’s popularity disintegrated so fast and so catastrophically?

The ”received wisdom” is that this has been because of his decision to discontinue the Winter Fuel Allowance handed out to some pensioners. But pensioners only form a relatively small percentage of the population, and in any case not all of them are affected. Furthermore the Winter Fuel Allowance was only initiated by Gordon Brown during Blair’s New Labour Administration, so therefore isn’t something which has long-standing resonance. No, the rapid decline in Starmer’s popularity has almost certainly been because of something which many people have alas been too frightened even to mention for “politically correct” reasons – namely his draconian reaction to the national uprisings following the savage murder of three innocent young girls in Southport by an immigrant descendent, and other similar recent acts of savagery committed against innocent British citizens by ethnic aliens!

Ever since the first “Race Relations Act” of 1965 was first passed by the Wilson Government – the most hideous curtailment of free speech and choice ever enacted in the UK – the vast bulk of the population seem to have been cowered into silence out of fear of being considered “hateful”, “unchristian” or – dare we say it - “fascist”. To be sure there was limited opposition to this enforced egalitarianism during the 1960s and ‘70s, and indeed even during more recent decades, but the recent murders of the three innocent young girls in Southport seems to have been the final straw which has broken the camel’s back – not so much the actual savage killings themselves but the demonic reactions of the Starmer Government to the protests against them, which have involved the arrests, chargings and even imprisonments of ordinary British citizens, not only for taking part in direct physical demonstrations against the unwanted immigrants, but also even more reprehensively simply for posting critical comments on social media!

But there has been one very hopeful sign emerging from Starmer’s over-reaction, and that has been the revelation of the overwhelming youthfulness of those taking part in the protests – both on the streets and on-line (and there have been reports that some 30 children have been imprisoned merely for posting critical comments on-line!). It is now almost 60 years since the first “Race Relations Act” was passed, but in spite of some two generations of brainwashing, the natural patriotic instincts of today’s youngsters shine out like a beacon to inspire their elder generations! It is not only in Britain where these healthy patriotic instincts are manifesting themselves among the younger generations in spite of 60-odd years of “woke” brainwashing however. The average age of supporters of Donald J. Trump in the United States is far lower than that of Donkey Party activists, and the same is true regarding supporters of the Rassemblement National in France and the AfD in Germany.

Mr. Johnny Rotten, the popular singer, recently stated: "I never thought I'd live to see the day when the right-wing would become the cool ones giving the middle finger to the establishment, and the left-wing becoming the snivelling self-righteous twatty ones going around shaming everyone". Sir Keir Starner should not get too comfy in Downing Street therefore. He is clearly already Yesterday’s Man.

The Springbok Club will be holding an informal gathering during the afternoon of Saturday 21st September at a venue in central London at which there will be a re-showing of Gary Vincent’s PowerPoint presentation about the early life of Frederick Courtney Selous. Following this presentation Susan Gordon will be giving a report-back on a patriotic festival which she attended during July in central London, after which there will be an open discussion about this. On Saturday 9th November the Springbok Club will be holding a meeting in central London to celebrate UDI Day, at which the organisation will be welcoming back Mr. Geoff Hill (the Africa correspondent of The Washington Times and The Spectator) who in April gave such an enthralling and illuminating talk about the then forthcoming four important General Elections taking place in Southern Africa, who this time will be giving a report-back on the outcomes and resulting implications of these elections. MESSAGE FROM THE ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION

We have recently received the following most concerning report from the Animal Survival International organisation regarding the plight of leopards in the “new” South Africa. It reads as follows:-

“We come to you with an urgent plea for help: a captive wildlife facility in South Africa is shutting down. They have found new locations for most of their animals, but a hand-reared 13-year-old leopard remains. He has just days to be rehomed, which is why our partner, Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary, has turned to us for help.

“Panthera Africa, an expert big-cat sanctuary and rehabilitation facility in the Western Cape, has the space for the cat but not the funds to relocate him. Another complication is that the leopard’s transport permit expires in less than a week, so the funds to relocate him must be found immediately.

“Panthera Africa’s sanctuary will allow the cat - named Gabriel - to live as close to ‘free’ as possible - something we know every wild animal deserves, but tragically doesn’t always get.

“With your help, we will relocate Gabriel, a 13-year-old hand-reared leopard, from a captive facility in South Africa to a new home where he will finally experience life as close to freedom as possible.

“Gabriel has lived in a small, captive facility for his entire life, and because he was hand-reared as a cub, he can never be released into the wild. Tragically, human interference in this wild animal’s life means he will never be able to hunt or fend for himself.

“A big risk Gabriel faces now is that if he is not transferred to Panthera Africa within the next few days, he could be snapped up by a breeding facility.

“In South Africa, captive breeding facilities exist with their nefarious activities taking place under the radar, all in the name of financial gain. Here, big cats are bred in captivity, and the cubs are removed from their mothers almost immediately, to be used for exhibition purposes, petting zoos, or sold, often to people who have not the faintest idea how to care for a wild animal.

“In the wild, a female leopard will reproduce every two to two-and-a-half years. However, in captive facilities where cubs are removed from their mothers almost immediately, females go into heat much faster, which means they can breed far more often.

“We cannot allow Gabriel to end up at a breeding facility. No wild animal should be kept and bred in captivity, and while we work hard to fight this scourge around the world, sometimes we must focus on one animal at a time - like Gabriel.

“Leopards everywhere are in trouble – and we must do everything we can to help.

“Leopards, the smallest of all big cat species, are in serious trouble. Habitat loss and human activity, such as trophy hunting and the illegal wildlife trade, have caused a significant decline in their numbers in recent decades.

“Around the world, they are exploited by the entertainment industry, forced to perform tricks in circuses, caged in zoos or bred for human ownership or interaction. Wealthy people, often in Middle Eastern countries, buy leopard cubs as pets as a show of their wealth - usually with no knowledge of how to care for them - and it almost always ends in disaster for the animal.

“This is why we must fight to preserve every leopard life we can.

“We have only days remaining to move this beautiful wild cat, and we urgently need your help to make it happen.

“The Panthera Africa sanctuary offers the ideal environment for a wild cat: a spacious 6,500-square-meter, semi-wild enclosure with natural vegetation, hiding places and shelter - in stark comparison to Gabriel’s current home, which is less than a tenth of the size.

“Their expert team is working with a specialist wildlife veterinarian and relocation team to prepare Gabriel for relocation to their sanctuary, 932 miles (1,500 km) away from where he currently is - they hope to relocate him at the end of this week.

“Prior to his relocation, he must have a full health check to determine his current physical state and physiological needs. This includes vaccinations, sterilization, bloodwork and a full body X-ray to check for any abnormalities like arthritis due to his age. He will also have an assessment of an old injury to both front legs, which is causing him to limp.

“If we can raise $4000, (£3,213), we will be able to cover the costs of Gabriel’s relocation, his veterinary care, and the right nutrition to support his health for the first months in his new home.

“Please, help us give Gabriel his freedom and well-being!

“Panthera Africa cares for big cats and other wild animals that are emotionally, physically or genetically impaired and cannot be fully rehabilitated and released into the wild. Once at their sanctuary, animals receive expert care for the rest of their lives.

DISGRACEFUL FLAGS AT THE VUELTA

In spite of being as well organised as ever, and producing some really exciting cycling over some very difficult courses (won of course by Primož Roglič of Slovenia after a gallant and gutsy showing by Ben O’Connor of Australia who eventually finished second), this year’s Vuelta a España was alas marred by masses of objectionable Palestinian flags being waved at the finishes of most stages of the tour. There were no Palestinian teams competing in this year’s tour, and neither were there any Palestinian riders. The presence of these flags was therefore completely anachronistic – but it was also deeply disturbing. We all know of course that this flag is the official flag of the Palestinian authority – but in the present circumstances it is synonymous with the satanic Hamas terrorist attack against innocent Israeli citizens on 7th October 2023. The sight of all these de facto Hamas Palestinian flags was therefore abhorrent not only to all Israelis, but also to all those who oppose international terrorism.

Another very significant fact was that the largest preponderance of these controversial displays seemed to occur when stages ended in or near the Basque lands, and indeed these Palestinian flags were often waved in close juxtaposition with Basque flags. In this regard it should never be forgotten that the main Basque terrorist organisation, ETA, enjoyed close fraternal relations with their fellow terrorists from the Provisional IRA during the 1970s. It was a case of “terrorists of the world unite” then and it seems as if it is still a case of “terrorists of the world unite” today. Be this as it may, the Spanish authorities must be severely criticised for not intervening and removing the offensive de facto Hamas Palestinian flags from display at this year’s Vuelta.

NEW LIGHT ON “THE LIGHT” NEWSPAPER

In the June 2021 Edition of the SCN we included an item about The Light freebee newspaper which read as follows :-

“We were recently sent – anonymously – a copy of a most intriguing newspaper entitled The Light. The headline of the issue which was sent to us, No.9, read ‘What Pandemic?’, which clearly indicates that this newspaper does not exactly tow the line of the medicrats who maintain that that Covid-19 virus is the most deadly virus which has ever mutated! …. To be sure this edition also contains a number of articles which are somewhat ‘off message’, but even so this newspaper provides extremely informative reading.”

Recently this present writer came across a man handing out free copies of The Light in the street, and still being interested in the publication took a copy and remarked that although many of the articles in it were excellent there were alas still a few items which were rather cranky. At this the man handing out the copies snapped back “everything in it has been fact-checked”! As a result of this astonishing claim a few investigations were carried out, which revealed that The Light had a most notorious reputation for peddling outrageous conspiracy theories - the most sickening of which being the hinting that the Jewish Holocaust of WW2 never happened. It would seem therefore that we were right in our June 2021 item to add the caveat that some of their articles seemed somewhat “off message”!

There remains one very strange aspect about The Light however, and that is how can they afford to publish such a substantial newspaper on a regular monthly basis with a print-run apparently running into the tens of thousands but with no price and with no commercial advertising? We know only too well how difficult it is to publish even a small 8-page magazine on an irregular basis simply through voluntary donations. Quite clearly therefore The Light must have some source of sinister financial backing! Long-standing South African readers might well remember an equally strange periodical which was published there from the 1960s to the 1980s called South African Observer, which similarly peddled poisonous Holocaust-denying conspiracy theories, and thereby became an acute embarrassment to the patriotic parties fighting against the National Party’s sell-out policies. A supporter from Kent has reminded us that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the fall (or perhaps more accurately surrender) of Lourenço Marques to the FRELIMO terrorists, an event which led directly to independence being granted to Mozambique by the new ultra-Leftist Portuguese regime the following year – with all the problems which this presented to the rest of southern Africa. This whole sell-out was of course precipitated by the Leftist coup in Portugal the previous year, which was clearly engineered by sinister internationalist forces whose primary aim was not so much to overthrow the benevolent Caetano government in metropolitan Portugal itself (though of course the Portuguese people have suffered as a result ever since!) but to destroy Portugal’s overseas provinces, and thereby to destabilise first Rhodesia and South-West Africa and then South Africa itself. As subsequent history has unfortunately shown, this demonic plan worked only too well!

We first made contact with Ann Forbes from Bertsham (a suburb of Johannesburg) several years ago now when she was producing a small patriotic publication called MEGA-SA, and we agreed a reciprocal exchange agreement with her. Alas we haven’t seen any copies of MEGA-SA for some considerable time now, and correspondence sent to her last known address, a P.O.Box in Bertsham, has been returned to us as the Box is now evidently closed. We wondered for a while whether she could be the same person as Ann-Maria Forbes (see “Where are They Now?” in the November 2012 SCN), but alas an enquiry sent to her last known address in Manchester has remained unanswered. GREEN FOR GO-ING MAD

Sir,

Climate Change and "Green Energy": These two subjects came to public attention in the mid 1980's when the UN formed the IPCC. The IPCC hypothesis then, as now, was that "Average global temperatures have been increasing since the mid 1950's and this is almost certainly due to the burning of fossil fuels". "We must dramatically reduce our dependency on coal and oil and invest/switch to wind, solar and biofuels". "We" have had around 36 years experience. What has been "our" experience? What have been the costs, performances, contributions to national grids and subsidies paid out by national governments? No mention at all in the mainstream media here in Canada or in the UK. Why is that? Manufacturers and operators will not commit their investors dollars without contractual guarantees. They will not put their faith in Mother Nature. These are complex subjects, but we/the scientific community have very reliable historic records on the planet's many climate changes. I have worked in many countries - many densely populated countries - that are increasing their dependency on fossil fuels. Canada, say our political class and mainstream media, are committed to net zero. Canada contributes perhaps 1.8% of all GHG's released into the atmosphere. On a global scale it's an irrelevance. Here are a few examples of what is happening in other countries. Not a mention here in the Canadian press. Carbon and environmental taxes have been a godsend to our politicians. Surely no one can object to these taxes, however these massive revenues go into the general pot and help pay the interest on our massive debts and not towards reducing GHG's. Perhaps I'm missing something or just unable to separate out the political rhetoric and bullshit from what will really take place here in Canada. The UK has been considering its nuclear options for over 20 years! Tons of data from the UK on their experiences of wind, solar and bio but ne’er a mention here, why is that?

BAD WIND

Sir,

Danish renewable energy firm Orsted said it will build the world's single largest off-shore wind farm off Britain's eastern coast. I cannot for the life of me understand the thinking behind the massive wind farm order. This is an intermittent power source, which will demand huge subsidies from UK householders and taxpayers and which will require a reliable back-up power generation system when it is producing little or no electricity. Apart from being unreliable off-shore wind farms are a blight on the landscape and are a massive hazard to bird life. It is also being built by a Danish company which will increase our existing massive total balance of payments deficit with the EU which has already cost us over £2 trillion.

The alternative is to invest heavily in Rolls Royce SMR's, which can be operated continuously (except for maintenance periods) and which are designed and made in the UK by the world renowned UK manufacturer. In addition, SMRs provide the same energy output p.a. at a lower capital cost than wind farms. Also, 370,000 miles of new HV cables and overhead lines, must be installed to connect remote wind and solar farms. The reactors in RN submarines are expected to last for over 30 years, compared with a 20 year typical life span for a wind turbine and 40,000 UK jobs will be created during development and commissioning of SMRs – leaving us independent in spares and back-up. Once these are fully developed and operational they would provide excellent export potential, thereby earning the UK valuable foreign funds.

The only valid reason must be that the former Conservative government had a death wish for UK design and manufacturing. In this it is surely joined by the Labour, Lib Dem and Green parties. So in any future general election please do not vote for suicidal UK policies by voting for any of these parties.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE

Sir,

Up until nine months ago, I was a writer and foreign teacher in Thailand. I have met many people from North Korea as Thailand and Malaysia have diplomatic relations with the DPRK. I also had some Russian students.

As such, my view of the war is quite unusual. For one, I feel the war in the Ukraine is probably a loss for America and NATO but just will take a while. I have many reasons to say that:

First, Russia has over 6,500 nuclear bombs, is capable of manufacturing their own munitions far quicker that the USA or NATO who have dangerously outsourced much production overseas and who rely on much more complicated weapons. While the weapons in Israel are very different than in the Ukraine, long-term, America won't be able to keep pace with Russia.

For two, when I came back to America, I warned as many Americans as I could that Russia is far more patient. I also cautioned that Russia will eventually step up the war but on their timeline. Most Americans don't understand that while young Russians don't want to fight, most Russians over age 35 or so do. There is a gap related to the fall of the USSR which started in 1986 and ended in 1991's collapse. So, the notion that President Putin has no support is about as wrong as were the stories of his "death from cirrhosis any day now."

Also, America and NATO made the mistake of relying on new technology to win; the same error that Adolf Hitler made and the reverse of WWII philosophy. We only ended the Greater Pacific conflict with two new bombs and, yes, we did also have Alan Turing for code-breaking, but of all secrets military secrets are among the most fleeting. It was inevitable that Russia would start defeating new technology with time, I said so publicly and that's precisely what's happening now.

As long as Russia can rely on simpler and quicker munitions they will either win or there won't be anything left worth having.

Americans also failed to realize that per Dr. Jason Richwine's 2009 (approximately) Harvard Dissertation on race and I.Q., the most reliable aspect of social science, North Koreans have a higher I.Q. on average than does America. From memory, I believe about averages of 106 for Korea and only 98 for American average I.Q.; now declining because of mass importation of foreign nationals from lower I.Q. countries and the decline of Caucasians who broadly invented almost all modern technology.

Koreans are not inventive but they are far smarter so the advancement of their weapons is no surprise, and it is almost certain that Russia will begin a mass transfer of knowledge into Korea as good faith for the support which may quite possibly turn the tide.

Finally, prolonged American and NATO support for a likely Ukrainian victory back-fired with the October 7th Arab attack upon Israel; an ally America must have. Long-term, that causes sustainability problems and further depletes American stock-piles at the worst time.

Because of the American Administration's blunders in the Ukraine and the surprise attack upon Israel, now America is in two prolonged campaigns and, per Sun Tzu, never get bogged down in long campaigns due to increasing risk of new actors and loss; chaos theory.

America now is in two long campaigns, President Biden has all but undone Russia's initial same mistake and the door is now wide open for a conflict in Taiwan. China knows Taiwan is a very hard target and probably won't get all those microchips if they invade, but even lacking the aspect of surprise, after January 13th, 2024, the opportunity has been excellent and ever since the passing of Cai Check and first generation patriots, now Taiwan really is a democracy and no longer a dressed up dictatorship in disguise to please America; a mortal problem on China's backdoor steps.

So, if that happens next, much of N.E. Asia may become a shooting range at a time when America's stock piles are low and production is very slow, up to 13 months sometimes versus only months in Russia and the DPRK.

That's my analysis. It's only a matter of time before Russia wins what they need in the Ukraine. Even if America somehow stops Russia (very unlikely unless Putin loses support or is overthrown), there will be little left of Ukraine but smoking ruin, miscalculation could mean a nuclear exchange, and Taiwan may fall and the next Greater Pacific Conflict may be triggered.

Finally, there is a cause for all of this which most Americans missed but I saw all but on our border: the Tatmadaw Overthrow of Burma's recent democratically elected government only one week after President Trump's last day in D.C.

What Americans don't understand is that Burma's electronic voting machines, and probably some manual voting machines too, were rigged in favour of the Tatmadaw much as they are rigged in South Africa for the ANC; a terrorist government.

The problem was the Tatmadaw was so unpopular they still lost and were both angry, as well as in panic. Once President Biden was in office and the last of Trump’s government was gone, the Tatmadaw gambled Biden would not bomb them and they gambled correctly.

This all starts there, from two nations with suspected voting fraud, and I knew America's enemies were watching. That was a green light and because America allowed the Tatmadaw to get away with that, that leads to Afghanistan, then to the Ukraine, in part to Israel, a very likely internal attack on America's own soil and quite possibly the fall of Taiwan and a hot war I don't think America would want because of massive casualties

That will be Biden's legacy; it's time to start respecting Korea and, in my view, the Ukraine is probably already a loss.

Thank you for the January Edition of your Springbok Cyber Newsletter with the reference to Israel.

In my fading years of life I still do not understand why South African Jews sided with the ANC. I am now 85, my money lies with the Old Mutual in Cape Town, I am allowed R14,000 a year. Our family grave in Durban has been taken away because it has not been used in the last 25 years. My 46 year old funeral policy is frozen because I live outside South Africa.

I know one thing Israel will never be defeated. My Bible tells me the land was given to the Jews by our Creator.

As you know, Vladimir Bukovsky told us when he came here from the Gulag in the 1970s. “I have lived in your future”: he could see us going the same way, little by little, as Russia did suddenly in the 1917 Revolution.

He also told us that the so-called “Menshevik” path was the one chosen for the West – gradual, but ending up in the same place – ruin.

Russia eventually got out of that, we are still going in.

OBITUARIES

THORLEY OLIVER

It was with much sadness that we recently learnt that Mrs.Thorley Oliver had died at the end of 2021. Thorley had been born in Rhodesia in 1946, and it is believed that she was the daughter of Noel Hunt, the great Rhodesian writer, political analyst and patriot, who wrote expertly-analysed articles inter alia for the original S.A.Patriot (see for example edition No.21). Thorley was married to John Duncan Oliver, an active member of the Rhodesian Action Party who stood as RAP candidate for the Waterfalls Constituency at the vital 1977 Rhodesian General Election. After the fall of Rhodesia in 1979 John and Thorley moved to their ancestral British homeland, settling at Chard in Somerset. They first made contact with the Springbok Club at the 2018 “Raising of the Flag” ceremony which was held at Bath in Somerset, and where Thorley was given the honour of hoisting the Union Flag – an act which John subsequently told us made her “really cuffed”! We thought and hoped that we would establish strong and beneficial contact with them following this event, but alas John died the following year, and as we have now learnt Thorley herself followed him barely two years later. Although we only met them on the one occasion they made a lasting impression on us for their continuing dedication and loyalty to the Rhodesian cause, and their memory will continue to inspire us.

JOHN REDFERN

It was with great sorrow that we recently learnt of the death of John Redfern at the end of last year, after battling valiantly against pulmonary fibrosis for several years.

John was born at Plumtree in Rhodesia in 1938, the son of Alan Gardiner Redfern, an Assistant Native Commissioner, who was tragically killed during the Desert Campaign of WW2.

John was educated at Churchill Boys High School, Salisbury, and being inspired by the knowledge of his father’s military exploits he joined the school’s Cadet Corps, volunteering to join the Corp’s bagpipe band wherein he eventually rose to become Pipe Major.

He followed his father into the Army, studying and training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and being commissioned in 1958 with high marks and being top of the Rhodesian contingent. After completing two courses for junior officers in the UK he returned to Rhodesia where he joined the Rhodesian African Rifles. His military career in the RAR saw him serving under the command of Maj.Gen. Peter Walls, and seeing active service in concert with his South African and Portuguese military counterparts, before being appointed as Director of Military Intelligence in 1976, a post which he held until the fall of Rhodesia in 1980. He was then invited to join the SADF where he was appointed firstly a Senior Staff Officer in the Military Intelligence Directorate, before becoming Chief Director of Communications in the SADF. He remained in the SADF until 1997, being awarded the Southern Cross Medal and the Medal for Meritorious Service, and was also awarded the Order of the Cloud and Banner (Cravat) by the Republic of China (Taiwan) for his military liaison with their armed forces.

John married Mary Stróm, his Swedish-born fiancée, in 1960 when only 22, having obtained permission from his Rhodesian Army commander to marry so young. It was to prove a long happy and successful marriage, and produced two fine daughters. The other important influence upon John’s life was his strong and enduring Chistian faith.

Undoubtedly however John’s greatest achievement in life was his tireless and unstinting work in keeping the Rhodesian cause, spirit and ideal alive. He was instrumental in re-energising the Rhodesia Association of South Africa and re-branding the organisation the Flame Lily Foundation (FLF) even before he retired from the SADF, being successively the association’s National Chairman and then National Secretary. In these positions – where he was greatly assisted by his wife Mary who proved to be a constant tower-of-strength – he built up the organisation into a vibrant, successful and well-administrated institution, bringing hope and encouragement to all ex-Rhodesians forced into exile in South Africa. He was particularly active in ensuring that pensioners received the pensions which they were due from both the British and the new Zimbabwe authorities, and furthermore ensured that the organisation generated sufficient funds through social events and other fund-raising activities to make sure that destitute Rhodesian pensioners were well looked after. His other great achievement through the FLF was to produce regular publications such as The Flag and Msasa Mail which not only kept ex-Rhodesians and their supporters informed about the activities of the organisation and developments in Zimbabwe, but also reminded them constantly of Rhodesian history and their heritage which had to be preserved.

Following his final retirement from the SADF John studied and qualified as an official National Cultural Tourist Guide in South Africa, but this new occupation never dimmed his energetic activities with the FLF, and indeed the organisation grew in strength. He also maintained good and mutually beneficial contacts with other expat’ Rhodesian organisations, particularly with Rhodesians Worldwide, which performs the same services for ex-Rhodesians in other parts of the world as the FLF performs in South Africa. During a trip to the UK in 2001 John addressed a Springbok Club meeting whereat he gave a masterful speech explaining vividly the then current deteriorating situations throughout southern Africa, and also telling everyone about the work and activities and the aims and objectives of the FLF – a meeting which is still remembered fondly by all those who attended it.

John Redfern died at Cefane near East London at the end of last year just a few days after he and Mary celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. In the words of the famous Clem Tholet song “Rhodesians Never Die”, and this will certainly be the case with John Redfern, as his memory and inspiration will live on with all those who had the honour and privilege to have known him. His achievements through the FLF were phenomenal, and the ongoing work of this organisation and the publications which it produced will ensure that the achievements of the great nation of Rhodesia will never be forgotten and that this heritage will be passed on to future generations. Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to John’s widow Mary, his daughters Yvonne and Lynette, his grandchildren and all those who have picked up his baton to maintain the fantastic work of the FLF.
