Ever since its inception our movement has constantly tried to highlight the threat posed to White Western civilisation by multi-culturalism and multi-racial societies.
At times during past decades this has proved to be very difficult, as one Western country after another embraced the dubious delights of multi-culturalism and passed insidious "race relations" laws in order to silence those who warned of the dangers. Nowhere was this capitulation to the forces of multi-racialism more sad and surprising than in South Africa, which previously had been viewed as a beacon of sanity and commonsense by White patriots around the globe.
Now, more suddenly than perhaps could have been expected, all this seems to be changing. Throughout Europe and Australasia (and in Britain and the Netherlands in particular) mainstream politicians have at last found the strength to speak out about the problems which allowing a sizeable minority of aliens to settle in their lands has caused. To be sure, at present these concerns have only been expressed in relation to the specific Muslim threat - but a start has at least been made, and this should greatly encourage those of us who recognise that the problem is actually far more fundamental.
The 9/11 and 7/7 Muslim terrorist attacks against the West woke up many who previously deluded themselves about a make-believe multi-cultural "utopia". Even in spite of fierce opposition to the Wars Against Terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq by Mohammedan immigrants and their pro-multi-racial fellow-travellers, most Western leaders (with the sickening exception of the Spanish) stood firm and realised that the Islamic threat was real and had to be confronted at its very heart if Western civilisation was to survive. Now, however, it seems as if more and more establishment politicians realise that the threat doesn't only lie from the Muslim countries alone, but is also present within our own borders.
Over recent weeks Britain has introduced stronger legislation to detain and deport Islamic extremists; Jack Straw and other Labour politicians have voiced strong opposition to the subjugation of Mohammedan women by the wearing of the veil; and the media has been quite open in specifying that a Muslim taxi-driver refused to carry a blind woman and her guide-dog, and that Muslim mobs had attacked the homes of servicemen in the Windsor area. Merely a year or so ago such developments and reporting would have been unthinkable because of fear of "race relations" legislation and the intimidating effects of "political correctness".
It is quite clear therefore that the entire zeitgeist of the Western world has radically changed over the past couple of years - even if there are those who for their own sinister reasons choose to deny this. With more effort to alert and inform people of the true dangers posed to our way of life by continuing multi-culturalism then the situation can only improve even more. The days ahead will inspire us.

SEPTEMBER SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
Last month Alan Harvey, the Organiser/Secretary of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club, addressed the London Branch of the organisation under the theme of "The similarities and differences between the Ulster and Southern African struggles", which was very well received. Unfortunately difficulties within the Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC (difficulties which now happily seem to have been overcome) meant that a similar address planned for Ulster had to be cancelled at very short notice. We apologise to all those who were intending to attend this event, but are pleased to report that it now seems likely that a replacement meeting will be held in Northern Ireland sometime next year.

OCTOBER SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENT
The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club will be staging a trip to the Historic Dockyard Chatham in order to celebrate the 201st anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, to which all friends and supporters are invited. Details of this event are as follows:-
Date : Sunday 22nd October
Assembly point : The Visitor Entrance at the end of Dock Road (the former Pembroke Gate)
Time : Assemble between 11.00 hrs and 11.30 hrs.
The charge for entrance to the Historic Dockyard Chatham is £9.00 per head. If, however, a party of over 15 is assembled then the charge will be only £8.10 per head, and if the party consists of over 20 then only £6.75 per head. As numbers are at present uncertain we would therefore suggest that the highest of these charges should provisionally be anticipated. It will certainly help to gauge numbers, however, if all those hoping to attend could 'phone to confirm on: 07711-188430.
This event will take the form of an informal visit, but two leading Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club officials, Robert Shipley and Alan Harvey, are experts on the history of the Dockyard, and will be giving an unofficial conducted tour.
The high-spot of this visit will be a brief wreath-laying ceremony at the dock in which H.M.S. Victory was built. This will take place at approximately 12.45 hrs, and it is anticipated that Mr. Robin Willow will sing an appropriate sea-shanty at this ceremony.
[ We advise all those travelling from London to catch the 10.03 train from Victoria. By all accounts track-repairs over the weekend will mean that this train will terminate at Rochester. The Visitor Entrance to the Historic Dockyard Chatham is only a short taxi journey away from Rochester Railway Station however. Otherwise catch the 141 bus from Chatham Station.]

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
On Wednesday 15th November the Springbok Club/ELC will be most honoured to welcome Mr. Johnny Rodrigues as Guest of Honour at a special buffet function which it will be staging. Johnny Rodrigues is Chairman of the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, a wildlife protection organisation based at Hwange (Wankie) National Park in Zimbabwe, which works to prevent poaching and other illegal killing of Zimbabwe's precious wildlife, which the current ZANU-PF regime seems either unable or unwilling to prevent. Mr. Rodrigues will be bringing along CDs and DVDs of the work of the ZCTF, and so will be giving a fully-illustrated presentation. This event will take place at The Counting House in the City of London, and fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.
In December the Springbok Club/ELC anticipates welcoming a famous South African journalist as Guest of Honour for its annual Day of the Vow commemorations.
The 2007 AGM of the Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club will take place in January.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC DEVELOPMENTS
We are happy to announce that Mr. Peter King has joined the SC/ELC Executive Committee in place of Mr. Robert Shipley, whose geographic location made it increasingly difficult for him to attend ExCo meetings. Robert Shipley will however continue as the organisation's Overseas Liaison Officer in an ex officio capacity.
Unfortunately unforeseen problems have meant that the SC/ELC has lost its original web-site domain name. A new domain name has now been obtained however, which is : www.springbokclub.org.uk

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
Last month the London Swinton Circle staged two meetings, the first was addressed by Mr. Edward Spalton (a former senior civil servant and businessman, and a leading member of the Freedom Association), and the second by the Rev. Dr. Alan Clifford of the Norwich Reformed Church, who spoke on the subject of "Islam and British Politics". Both meetings proved to be most informative and good successes.

In November the LSC will be staging two important meetings, the first to be held on 14th November will be addressed by Jeffrey Donaldson MP (DUP, Lagan Valley), and the second by David Davies MP (Conservative, Monmouth). Fuller details about both these meetings will appear in next month's SCN.

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
The Argentinian newspaper Clarin has recently carries a major article entitled "London reiterates to the UN that it will not negotiate the sovereignty of the Malvinas [the Falkland Islands] - unless the islanders want this". In the text it says that Britain has said this both to the UN and to the Organisation of American States in response to recent Argentine moves. The article goes on to report what Geoff Hoon was quoted as saying in the newspaper "Scotland on Sunday" that: "There can not be negotiations over the sovereignty of the Falklands unless the Islanders want this. The principle of self-determination underlies the policy of the Government of Tony Blair".

TAU STATEMENT
We have recently received the following media release from the Transvaal Agricultural Union :-
The question of meritocracy is hardly ever discussed in South Africa today. The buzz words are transformation, equality, redistribution, disadvantaged, emerging and rectification. Yet a proposed abuse of meritocracy precipitated riots in India recently, as medical students demonstrated against their government's proposal to allocate quotas at medical schools to people of a lower caste, called "Other Backward Classes" (OBC's). Tentative plans by the Indian government to introduce quotas in the private sector have met with fierce opposition from the business community.
Not so in South Africa where quotas have been forced on the productive sector by sheer force of numbers. Generally, countries where meritocracy is not the benchmark of a person's worth are, in the main, either failing or failed states. Where people are not given their due, where sections of the population are hindered from reaching their potential - societies where the role of women is hobbled for example - these countries usually lag behind and are burdened with corruption, lethargy, poverty and in many instances violence.
The South African government says Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is to rectify the "injustices" inherent in South Africa's past as a result of this country's previous apartheid policy. While there were indeed restrictions, some sectors of the population prospered economically (Indian South Africans were a good example). At the same time, South Africa itself was a top-grade country, where even those outside the first-world economy generally benefited. The country was in the main free from the scourge of crime, poor hospital services, and food scarcities. The farming community was safe, and workers were in general well looked after.
This previous state of affairs is highlighted by Mr Richard Maponya, prominent Soweto businessman who is as far removed from the current crop of BEE passengers as one could imagine. Self-made, Mr Maponya is still active at 88, and compares today's South Africa to the time under apartheid when he made something of himself, despite some restrictions. "Life was wonderful (in Soweto) because you could trust people, and there were no muggings. I used to walk around with bags of money and I never got robbed".
The policy of BEE was ostensibly designed to redistribute wealth. But wealth is a creation, not a commodity, and BEE has resulted in a skewed South African economy where a few have benefited from wealth transfer but not entrepreneurship transfer, the latter of course being the engine which creates wealth.
The government has designated 30% of South Africa's commercial farms to be transferred to the "emerging" Black farming sector by 2014. There has not been one case of a successful transfer. Either the farms have collapsed and are in ruins, or they have been rescued by White mentors or paid consultants who have been contracted to resuscitate the farms and manage them.
This warped result of BEE transformation has resulted in millions of taxpayer Rands being used to rescue what should never have collapsed in the first place.
A "passenger" class has now emerged in South Africa. In some sectors, this class has ruined the sector in which it is involved, and agriculture is a good example. In other sectors, particularly within the business community, BEE appointments are there because the government has ordered that a percentage of all businesses must have Black ownership. Tokenism is rife, in order to obtain government contracts, and the media is replete with photos of well-fed, very well-dressed Black people who have been appointed to the board of this, or are the Human Resources Managers of that. They are not allowed to ruin the big commercial organizations, but many smaller businesses have closed doors because they cannot carry unproductive fellow-travellers.
Who are these instant millionaires who were mostly unheard of before the ANC came to power? Were they geniuses in hiding, waiting for apartheid to be lifted when they could emerge resplendent in all their entrepreneurial glory? Had any of them made any effort at starting a business, using commercial bank loans, employing people, paying rent and taxes, as Richard Maponya and others had done?
After the unbanning of the ANC, the organization tried desperately to raise money through its own organization Movement Marketing Enterprises (MME) The results were disastrous and an audit report showed corruption, mismanagement and technical bankruptcy. The organization's personnel sat in an old donated building in a poor section of Johannesburg. Tokyo Sexwale was on a salary of R2,800 per month. He was head of "Special Projects", but none of the commercial projects the ANC tried its hand at made a profit. The following were all on R3,500 per month: Aziz Pahad, Ronnie Kasrils, Tito Mboweni, Terror Lekota, Pallo Jordan, Gill Marcus, Penuel Maduna, Winnie Mandela, Jacob Zuma and the current president Thabo Mbeki.
The ANC was trying to make money for itself through its "Business Unit" MME, yet with all those ANC VIP's in tow, it was unable to do so. The organization was lucky it came to power when it did, and others took up the slack to accommodate its many passengers!
None other than Mr Moeletsi Mbeki, brother of Thabo Mbeki, said last month that this country should leave "the consumption model of transformation and adopt Asia's productive approach. The new Black middle class plays next to no role in the ownership and control of the productive economy of South Africa. Their role is one of overseeing redistribution of wealth towards consumption"
Vice-Chancellor of Wits University Mr Loyiso Nongxa agrees. "The problem is that when you are redistributing and not growing you will reach a point where there is nothing to distribute any more", he declared.
While some BEE beneficiaries make huge profits and spend this money on cars, clothes, wine farms and expensive second homes, few will build a factory or create jobs for their fellow Blacks. The policy is deeply flawed and even destructive especially in the agricultural sector. The State President's brother's remarks have not come a moment too soon.

ZIMBABWE/RHODESIAN PENSION CAMPAIGN
The Zimbabwe/Rhodesian Pension Petition, with 1,984 signatures, has been delivered, and a posted reply received from the office of the British Prime Minister. The Petition has been passed on to the Department of Work and Pensions; a full reply is expected soon. The letters will then be published on the Blog Site.
Thanks to the laborious and much appreciated efforts of Mr Fred Punter, a UK supporter, hundreds of British Members of Parliament are being lobbied by e-mail to question the tragic and shameful state of affairs regarding the non-payment of Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensions. However MP's may only act on behalf of their own constituents. Accordingly, all UK supporters are urged to forward the letters to their local MP's, giving their own names and the information required by Parliamentary protocol.
Eventually this grievance will be redressed. How soon and how fair will depend on the efforts of all who care.

RESPONSE FROM THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SPCAs
Dear Sir
An e-mail, usually titled SPCA SHUTTING DOWN or SPCA CLOSING DOWN, was originated by a Chanel Rowan who has since blocked her responses from this petition to her mailbox. It was sent out some years ago, and it costs 2 employees approximately 4-5 valuable hours every month to set the record straight.
This unauthorised (albeit well-intended but misinformed) e-mail has been circulating the internet for some years and has caused enormous headaches for the NSPCA and its member SPCAs, particularly with potential supporters. After all, who wants to support an organisation that they perceive as closing!!
There are 97 SPCAs in South Africa and although some of the smaller societies do struggle for survival due to their locations, there is no way that the movement itself would close down. The NSPCA and the SPCA movement as a whole enforces over 90% of the South African animal protection legislation. The SPCA movement is also controlled by its own statutory Act of Parliament even though no funds are received from government.

A further article in the July SCN relates to the "disturbing e-mail" received from Louise Joubert of Sanwild. We would like to make the following comment clarifying the NSPCA’s position.
On 17 April 2006 six young elephants were captured from the wild in the Selati Game Reserve, Limpopo province [Far Northern Transvaal] and were taken by road to "Elephants for Africa" Forever near Tzaneen for domestication in terms of training for elephant-back safaris for the tourist industry.
The capture and transfer of the elephants was witnessed by Karen Trendler and Michael Jamieson of the National Council of SPCAs Wildlife Unit. An invitation had been extended to Karen Trendler by a veterinarian who wishes to pioneer more humane forms of elephant capture, to attend this particular capture. The NSPCA was under the impression that the elephant capture was to take place for the purposes of relocation. We were not aware that the purpose of the capture was to remove young elephants from a social group for purposes of being trained in elephant-back safaris. Limpopo [Far Northern Transvaal] Nature Conservation authorities had issued the relevant permits. The function of NSPCA Wildlife Unit representatives in attending the capture was both to assist the veterinarian by giving him input on more humane ways in which to affect elephant captures, and to perform their legal function of ensuring that the animals being captured were not subject to cruelty. Regardless of the destination, the NSPCA endeavours to be present where possible to monitor capture operations.
The NSPCA has reiterated its statement of policy in media releases over the years that we are opposed to the taking of wild animals, and that wild animals belong in the wild. The NSPCA believes that the capture of wild elephants, "taming" them for lifelong captivity is unethical and cruel.
If legal requirements are adhered to, the NSPCA accepts with reluctance that the activities can, do and will happen. The NSPCA remains vigilant to activities around the country and above all acts on behalf of all animals as per our legal mandate. This is best achieved by being present, on the scene, and observing every detail to ensure the humane treatment of the animals. Being present does not mean we condone. It means we work in a pro-active and reactive manner in support of animals around the country. Further examples may include the roadside sale of live animals or the slaughter methods utilised in the meat industry.
Wild-caught elephant may well be lost to conservation but their humane treatment in long-term captivity remains a priority for this Society. The NSPCA is actively involved in the monitoring of elephant-back safari operations around the country and in lobbying provincial government to control the removal of wild elephant strictly.

AUSTRALIAN MONARCHIST LEAGUE'S LONDON CONFERENCE
Unfortunately a number of changes have had to be made to arrangements for the forthcoming Australian Monarchist League's London Conference. The dinner on the evening of Friday 27th October will take place at the East India Club and will cost £40.00 per head, and the speaker will now be Leo Price QC. There are also now two extra dinners at the East India Club at the same cost on the evenings of Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October, with Rodney Atkinson and Michael Shrimpton as guest speakers respectively.
An open meeting will be held at the House of Lords on Wednesday 1st November (Committee Room 3, commencing at 19.00 hrs, by kind courtesy of Lord Stoddart) at which time Mr. Philip Benwell MBE will launch "The Association of the Commonwealth Realms", the purpose of which will be to work to bring closer together the English-Speaking Realms and to defend The Crown of the United Kingdom.

We have recently been informed by Mr. James Alcock of the Federal Commonwealth Society about an upcoming Canada-Australia summit in 2008. The Premiers of both countries will be meeting in Adelaide, South Australia in that year to discuss forging closer ties. Although at present we know no further details, this certainly sounds like an extremely encouraging development. Ken Sutler-Gore was a former British Conservative Party parliamentary candidate, a director of a leading Durban import/export company, and a top Natal Cricket umpire. He is probably best known, however, as the leading light behind the "Durban Parliamentary Debating Society" ("The Durban Parliament") where many supporters got to know him and admire him well. Many of them would be very keen to learn what has become of him.

We have just listened to an extraordinary announcement on Cape Talk, our local chat show. Some Portuguese coach has been offered R2M a month for coaching Bafana-Bafana! What is still more unbelievable is that he has refused! I thought this was a joke, but it was repeated later in the morning. The members of this team, if you can call them that, are under the impression that the aim of soccer consists solely of shooting for goal, when in reality you must pass to the guy nearest the goalposts! Even I know that! I suppose the ten or so Black directors of this outfit are concerned about the 2010 show in Jo'burg, but my own feeling is that this team will never NEVER shape!

It has been 12 years now since the ex-European South Africans voluntarily handed over power to the Black majority, and still there is no end in sight to the moral criminalization of all things White - and there will never be!
To be fair, apartheid was morally reprehensible, but didn’t the Americans, Australians and Kiwis take it one step further in history - all but wiping out the indigenous peoples who stood in their way? How many Native Americans, Aborigines and Maoris really control their own destinies? Mind you, how many Africans in Africa can claim they live on Cloud Nine? To drop the political-correctness; Africa is a bloody mess, and no civilized human being can live there anymore!

Undoubtedly the most nauseating story to come out of South Africa during recent years has been the account of the self-abasement - some might even say racial-masochism - of former Minister of Law and Order Adriaan Vlok, who according to reports "knelt down and washed the feet of a leading Black cleric to seek forgiveness for the sins [sic] that he committed during his time in office".
One has to wonder, of course, what "sins" were involved in serving to preserve civilised rule - so that South Africa did not become the crime capital of the world, did not witness a genocide campaign against its farming community and urban population, and did not experience the wholesale rape of young children in the bizarre belief that sex with a virgin cures AIDS.
Be this as it may, Vlok's sickening stunt only proves what we tried to warn people throughout the 1980s, namely that the NP government was part of the problem and not part of the solution facing South Africa. In spite of his reputation as being a relative verkrampte, Vlok did absolutely nothing to prevent de Klerk's sell-out of the nation during the early 1990s, and in this he was joined by all the other so-called NP verkramptes such as Magnus Malan. Vlok, however, is not the first NP cabinet minister to reveal his true treacherous colours. "Pik" Botha eagerly joined the terrorist ANC even before the NNP was disbanded, and Piet Koornhof (who incidentally was the little boy who opened the door of the Voortrekker Memorial when it was inaugurated in 1938) divorced his White wife in order to marry a Coloured woman. All this only goes to confirm that the NP was rotten to the core even as far back as the days of B.J.Vorster!
Shortly after being forced to leave South Africa in 1990 this present writer was asked by British supporters of South Africa to write an article explaining the mystery of why the South African Whites so meekly agreed to surrender their country to the terrorists with seemingly no resistance whatsoever. This article, entitled "Why we got it wrong about the Afrikaners", was subsequently written, and in view of the great anger which then existed following the recent fall of South Africa to the forces of darkness, proved to be a very hard-hitting analysis. It was argued that the fault lay with the three main institutions of Afrikanerdom - the NP, the NGK and the Broederbond - all of which regarded their nationalism as geographic rather than ethnic, and the manner in which so many Afrikaners followed the increasingly liberal agenda of these three institutions like sheep (or perhaps more accurately like lemmings).
The reaction to this article was incredible, for, in spite of the fact that it was never published, a copy somehow found its way into the hands of young Mr. Arthur Kemp. Most readers will probably recall how Kemp gave every appearance of being a mainstream conservative like ourselves during the 1980s, but then mysteriously metamorphosised into a neo-Nazi crank during the 1990s, and also how significant evidence came to light to suggest that he had been working for both the old and new South African security agencies all the time, apparently with the brief of adopting a neo-Nazi image in order to embarrass and discredit the authentic forces of right-wing resistance in South Africa. Kemp then posted this article onto a neo-Nazi web-site in the United States - but mischievously and wickedly twisted the analysis to suggest that ALL Afrikaners had been condemned, rather than just the three liberal-leaning Afrikaans institutions. This twisted posting, moreover, resulted in a number of threats being made by lunatic neo-Nazi types from the United States.
Adriaan Vlok, of course, was a leading member of the NP government, a prominent Broederbonder, and - to the best of our knowledge - a staunch member of the NGK. His recent puke-invoking act of self-abasement therefore merely confirms the basic points which were made in this original analysis. One is puzzled, therefore, as to why Kemp should have gone out of his way to vilify this article so wildly - after all he claimed to be a CP-supporting opponent of the NP during the 1980s, and also an avowed atheist? Over to you Mr. Kemp ....

AUGUST SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITY
During August the Springbok Club/ELC took part in a "Sherlock Holmes" walking tour of central London organised by "London Horror Tours". This proved to be a highly enjoyable and informative event, and was joined by Mr. Richard "Jock" Spooner, a long-standing supporter of the movement now based in NSW, Australia. After the tour members adjourned to a Baker Street hostelry where they were joined by other supporters of the SC/ELC, and where "Jock" Spooner conveyed details of the current Australia situation at a convivial informal reception. We are furthermore happy to be able to announce that Mr. Spooner has provisionally agreed to take on the position as the Australian Co-ordinator of the SC/ELC.

SEPTEMBER SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
As most readers will probably be aware, the planned SC/ELC guest speaker for September, Sir Alfred Sherman, sadly died last month, and a brief obituary to this great conservative thinker appears at the end of this edition of the SCN.
Alas the SC/ELC has not been able to organise any alternative attraction at such short notice at national level, but instead the London Branch of the organisation has asked the current Organiser/Secretary of the movement, Alan Harvey, to deliver the same talk that he will be giving to the Northern Ireland Branch later during the month, which will be entitled "The similarities and differences between the Ulster and Southern African struggles". FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
In October the Kent Branch of the Empire Loyalist Club will be organising a trip to Chatham Dockyard (where of course HMS Victory was built) in order to celebrate Trafalgar Day. An informal conducted tour will be led by Mr. Robert Shipley (the Overseas Liaison Officer of the SC/ELC) who is a great authority on the Dockyard and the naval history of the area. Fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.
On Wednesday 15th November the Springbok Club will be most honoured to welcome Mr. Johnny Rodrigues as Guest of Honour at a special buffet function which it will be staging. Johnny Rodrigues is Chairman of the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, a wildlife protection organisation based at Hwange (Wankie) National Park in Zimbabwe, which works to prevent poaching and other illegal killing of Zimbabwe's precious wildlife, whilst the current ZANU-PF regime seems to turn a blind-eye. Mr. Rodrigues will be giving a fully-illustrated talk about the work of ZCTF, and fuller details about this most exciting event will appear in future editions of the SCN.
In December the Springbok Club hopes to welcome a famous South African journalist as Guest of Honour for its annual Day of the Vow commemorations.

Last month the London Swinton Circle welcomed Mr. Stuart Notholt, the Vice-Chairman of the Campaign for an Independent Britain, as guest speaker. ELEPHANTS NEED YOUR HELP
Your help is urgently needed to stop a one-off sale of 60 tonnes of elephant ivory from Botswana [Bechuanaland], Namibia [South-West Africa] and South Africa. This amount of ivory is equivalent to 3,500 dead elephants. If this ivory sale goes ahead it will have a devastating effect on elephants around the world. Any legal sale of ivory will create a smokescreen for illegal ivory trade, creating a huge incentive for poachers to slaughter endless elephants for their tusks.
Ivory poachers kill more than 10,000 elephants in Africa each year to supply the illegal ivory trade. Every time an elephant is killed it brings them one step closer to extinction. Elephants never forget and neither should we. Elephants are highly intelligent social creatures that create lifelong relationships. They cry, play, and have incredible memories - but when an elephant walks by the ivory-stripped remains of a slaughtered loved one, they stop still, pausing sorrowfully to roar and mourn. Elephants can stand vigil over dead herd members for days, even covering the bones with branches and dirt.
Please help the International Fund for Animal Welfare to stop the trade in ivory by sending an e-mail to your local MP. Ask him/her to urge the UK Minister for Bio-diversity, Mr Barry Gardiner MP, to oppose the stockpile sales and any future calls to re-open the trade in ivory.

THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE

In the second edition of this publication a profound article entitled "Dealing with poverty in Africa" appeared, which read as follows:-
"The billions of Pounds that have been pumped into the continent of Africa have done nothing to prevent the famine, AIDS and war that have engulfed the continent since the demise of Empire. Countless government initiatives have failed to address the problems, like the excuse for a pop concert (LIVE 8) and the continuous cancellation of debt. It is time a new initiative was proposed to rid the continent that is a scar on the rest of the world. Under British civilised rule, no such issues existed. Wealth and food was evenly distributed between British army and government officials, and the natives. AIDS was never even in existence under civilised rule and the reasons that have spread AIDS, like homosexuality and sex outside marriage were condemned. As much as the left-wing propaganda and self-determining nuts like to believe otherwise, it is no coincidence that this has all occurred since the surrender of our African colonies to the warlords that now rule. What Africa could really do with now, is a good dose of colonisation under the paternalistic eye of us British. One makes the point very sensibly, that there is no point in ploughing money into countries where the wealth does not filter down to the people, but where a government fat-cat spends it on his wedding ceremony instead! Neither is it a coincidence, that the states of South Africa and Rhodesia are engulfed in their current situations. Since the demise of civilised rule, both countries have gone on a downward spiral. Inflation in Rhodesia peaked at 2000% and over 75% of the population is unemployed. Under British civilised rule in contrast, Rhodesia was the breadbasket of Africa, where the Whites owned the farms, and the Blacks earned a good wage working the land. There was no such disease as AIDS and certainly no famine. Similarly in South Africa the Blacks in the townships are now even poorer than they were under apartheid. Whilst it is a hard argument to make - that a nation has a Divine right to rule - the achievements of the British Empire in building nations to what they are today comes close to the phrase. Our biggest mistake, however, was abandoning these countries when we did, and not nurturing them through to full development. They were so quick to cry 'independence', but so also to come running back for aid at their point of need. The reassertion of British rule around Africa would combat these increasing problems, simply because we have done so in the past. The situation in Zimbabwe, South Africa and smaller nations highlight this point. The demise of the continent of Africa has mirrored the demise of the British Empire. To my way of thinking, there seems to be only one solution to the problem."

ZIMBABWE/RHODESIAN PENSION ENTITLEMENTS
For several years Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensions have been withheld, and, it is suspected, the arrears have been stolen. Zimbabwe has gone from barbarism to degeneration with only a small interval of civilization. The people mainly responsible for that civilizing interval were dumped when the British Government off-loaded its Colonial responsibilities.
Most of the pensioners are British and are enraged by the silent acceptance of their stolen pensions. Many served in the British Forces in World War II, and their fathers fought in World War I. Many were encouraged by the British Government to go to Rhodesia and help in its post-war development. They then became victims of "The Winds of Change" and the blunders of inept or deceitful politicians.
Recently, the G8 countries cancelled $3.5 billion of African debt. Now they are discussing more billions to be given as aid. A fraction of this money would settle all Zimbabwe pension entitlements. Payment of pensions and arrears at the historic rate of Z$2 to one pound Sterling should be made a condition of any future aid procedures.
Many Zimbabwe pensioners are descendants of the Rhodesian Pioneers, who were heroes of Britain's Colonial Empire. They turned bushland into the breadbasket of Central Africa and made Rhodesia the Pearl of Africa. Now the breadbasket has become a basket-case, and these pensioners are surviving on handouts from charitable foundations.
Many pensioners cannot leave Zimbabwe; they are old and frail. Their monthly pensions (paid in Zimbabwe) will buy no more than a loaf of bread. They were born there, they have no other citizenship, their British stock is not recognized - they are dying. Please help them in any way you can.

TAU STATEMENT
We have recently received the following media release from the Transvaal Agricultural Union :-
"The President of TAU SA, Mr Paul van der Walt has requested the [South African] President, Mr Mbeki, in writing to repudiate the Minister of Safety and Security after his utterances that people who complain about crime should rather leave the country. Mr Nqakula's remarks were irresponsible and thoughtless and he owes the country an apology. Notwithstanding wide criticism from opposition parties, stake-holders and the public, Nqakula remains as silent as the graves of victims of crime. Mr van der Walt made it quite clear in his letter that should Mbeki not repudiate his Minister in public this will be interpreted as silent approval of his stance."

NORTHERN RHODESIAN NEWS
The following report appeared in a recent edition of the "News from Zambia" newsletter (available from: 4 Ashurst Way, East Preston, Littlehampton, Sussex, BN16 1AG) :-
"One hundred and forty-two ex-Northern Rhodesia and Zambia residents - as well as several of their children who had grown up in the country - sat down to lunch at the annual gathering of the Northern Rhodesian Reunion Association, in the Bibury Suite of the Salisbury Racecourse in Wiltshire. The oldest member attending was Gervas Clay, 99, who was Resident Commissioner of Barotseland in the 1960s. John Coates, a member of the Northern Rhodesia Police Association and of the Zambia Society Trust, made an appeal for a joint project which supports orphans of Zambian policemen and women. He also paid tribute to John Wyatt's organisation of the excellent lunch. Mrs. Elisabeth Young - whose late husband, Tom Young, was High Commissioner to Zambia, 1998-2002 - raised £150 through the sale of greeting cards, for the Zambia Society Trust."

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
In a recent speech to the UN Falkland Islands Councillor Dr Davies explained that the Islanders are never going to give up their right to self-determination and asked the Decolonisation Committee to support this. He pointed out that self-determination isn't just for "native" people - and pointed out that the majority of Argentines aren't natives themselves, while the Falklands has a history of seven or eight generations of peaceful development, which he pointed out is longer than in many parts of Argentina. He even quoted the Argentine national anthem with its call for liberty, and asked that if Argentines value this so highly themselves then why can't they allow it for the Islanders! He said that in reality Argentina would be a colonial power if it succeeded with its claim, and ended by emphasizing that the Islanders will never sacrifice their right to self-determination "in exchange for material benefits" (clearly a reference to Argentine economic pressure).

BLACK DEATH
Sir,
I was walking home from a Pub - not even half-a-mile from my home - late on a Friday night about a month ago, when I walked past what I thought were a group of Black men getting into their car. I was almost past them when the one bastard said "You interrupted us - we have to kill you now". I looked at them thinking this was some joke - then I realised they were breaking into the car. There were at least three, maybe four of them, and they proceeded to beat me to the point of almost death. Luckily I managed to kick the one bastard and give the hardest punch I have ever managed, which gave me enough time to scramble to my feet and run for my life. I made such a noise by that time people were taking notice, so my attackers left me.
The very next day from my flat window I saw the same people doing this to what could only be a 14 year-old boy, but this time it was early evening. I could do nothing, and then a week after that our family butchery got held-up at gunpoint.
I say VIVA death penalty!

They haven't got a clue! They'll have to pull out all the Whites available to make it work, but they're in the process of exterminating the Whites, and those they haven't exterminated they are systematically removing from the workplace and replacing with incompetent, unqualified Blacks - all in the interests of Black Empowerment, the South African version of "affirmative action". The "Old" South Africa under the Whites could definitely have risen to the occasion, but that's all over now.

OBITUARIES
SIR ALFRED SHERMAN
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Sir Alfred Sherman, particularly as he had agreed to speak at a future Springbok Club/ELC meeting. Sir Alfred was proud of his Jewish roots, but this did not stop him from being intensely loyal to the country where he lived and grew up. A renowned economist, he became a leading advisor to Margaret Thatcher, and was the intellectual force behind so many of the Conservative Party's successes during the 1980s, particularly the policy of privatisation. Sir Alfred was also a strong opponent of non-White immigration into the UK, and advocated a policy of repatriation, even for those non-Whites who by chance had been born in the country. In this regard he was particularly concerned about the dangers posed by the million-and-a-half Muslims resident in the UK - warnings which are of course being confirmed more and more by the day. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to Sir Alfred's grand-nephew Adrian Sherman, as also to other members of his family.

WREX TARR
It was also with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of the popular Rhodesian singer and comedian Wrex Tarr whilst entertaining in Cape Town at the age of 71. Wrex Tarr, the "Chilapalapa King", was certainly not a "politically correct" performer, but was greatly loved and admired in Rhodesia where his acts did so much to lift spirits during the days of the Bush War against Terrorism. Again our sincerest condolences are extended to Wrex's family.

September 2006 edition
Undoubtedly the most nauseating story to come out of South Africa during recent years has been the account of the self-abasement - some might even say racial-masochism - of former Minister of Law and Order Adriaan Vlok, who according to reports "knelt down and washed the feet of a leading Black cleric to seek forgiveness for the sins [sic] that he committed during his time in office".
One has to wonder, of course, what "sins" were involved in serving to preserve civilised rule - so that South Africa did not become the crime capital of the world, did not witness a genocide campaign against its farming community and urban population, and did not experience the wholesale rape of young children in the bizarre belief that sex with a virgin cures AIDS.
Be this as it may, Vlok's sickening stunt only proves what we tried to warn people throughout the 1980s, namely that the NP government was part of the problem and not part of the solution facing South Africa. In spite of his reputation as being a relative verkrampte, Vlok did absolutely nothing to prevent de Klerk's sell-out of the nation during the early 1990s, and in this he was joined by all the other so-called NP verkramptes such as Magnus Malan. Vlok, however, is not the first NP cabinet minister to reveal his true treacherous colours. "Pik" Botha eagerly joined the terrorist ANC even before the NNP was disbanded, and Piet Koornhof (who incidentally was the little boy who opened the door of the Voortrekker Memorial when it was inaugurated in 1938) divorced his White wife in order to marry a Coloured woman. All this only goes to confirm that the NP was rotten to the core even as far back as the days of B.J.Vorster!
Shortly after being forced to leave South Africa in 1990 this present writer was asked by British supporters of South Africa to write an article explaining the mystery of why the South African Whites so meekly agreed to surrender their country to the terrorists with seemingly no resistance whatsoever. This article, entitled "Why we got it wrong about the Afrikaners", was subsequently written, and in view of the great anger which then existed following the recent fall of South Africa to the forces of darkness, proved to be a very hard-hitting analysis. It was argued that the fault lay with the three main institutions of Afrikanerdom - the NP, the NGK and the Broederbond - all of which regarded their nationalism as geographic rather than ethnic, and the manner in which so many Afrikaners followed the increasingly liberal agenda of these three institutions like sheep (or perhaps more accurately like lemmings).
The reaction to this article was incredible, for, in spite of the fact that it was never published, a copy somehow found its way into the hands of young Mr. Arthur Kemp. Most readers will probably recall how Kemp gave every appearance of being a mainstream conservative like ourselves during the 1980s, but then mysteriously metamorphosised into a neo-Nazi crank during the 1990s, and also how significant evidence came to light to suggest that he had been working for both the old and new South African security agencies all the time, apparently with the brief of adopting a neo-Nazi image in order to embarrass and discredit the authentic forces of right-wing resistance in South Africa. Kemp then posted this article onto a neo-Nazi web-site in the United States - but mischievously and wickedly twisted the analysis to suggest that ALL Afrikaners had been condemned, rather than just the three liberal-leaning Afrikaans institutions. This twisted posting, moreover, resulted in a number of threats being made by lunatic neo-Nazi types from the United States.
Adriaan Vlok, of course, was a leading member of the NP government, a prominent Broederbonder, and - to the best of our knowledge - a staunch member of the NGK. His recent puke-invoking act of self-abasement therefore merely confirms the basic points which were made in this original analysis. One is puzzled, therefore, as to why Kemp should have gone out of his way to vilify this article so wildly - after all he claimed to be a CP-supporting opponent of the NP during the 1980s, and also an avowed atheist? Over to you Mr. Kemp ....

AUGUST SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITY
During August the Springbok Club/ELC took part in a "Sherlock Holmes" walking tour of central London organised by "London Horror Tours". This proved to be a highly enjoyable and informative event, and was joined by Mr. Richard "Jock" Spooner, a long-standing supporter of the movement now based in NSW, Australia. After the tour members adjourned to a Baker Street hostelry where they were joined by other supporters of the SC/ELC, and where "Jock" Spooner conveyed details of the current Australia situation at a convivial informal reception. We are furthermore happy to be able to announce that Mr. Spooner has provisionally agreed to take on the position as the Australian Co-ordinator of the SC/ELC.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC ACTIVITIES
In October the Kent Branch of the Empire Loyalist Club will be organising a trip to Chatham Dockyard (where of course HMS Victory was built) in order to celebrate Trafalgar Day. An informal conducted tour will be led by Mr. Robert Shipley (the Overseas Liaison Officer of the SC/ELC) who is a great authority on the Dockyard and the naval history of the area. Fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.
On Wednesday 15th November the Springbok Club will be most honoured to welcome Mr. Johnny Rodrigues as Guest of Honour at a special buffet function which it will be staging. Johnny Rodrigues is Chairman of the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, a wildlife protection organisation based at Hwange (Wankie) National Park in Zimbabwe, which works to prevent poaching and other illegal killing of Zimbabwe's precious wildlife, whilst the current ZANU-PF regime seems to turn a blind-eye. Mr. Rodrigues will be giving a fully-illustrated talk about the work of ZCTF, and fuller details about this most exciting event will appear in future editions of the SCN.
In December the Springbok Club hopes to welcome a famous South African journalist as Guest of Honour for its annual Day of the Vow commemorations.

ELEPHANTS NEED YOUR HELP
Your help is urgently needed to stop a one-off sale of 60 tonnes of elephant ivory from Botswana [Bechuanaland], Namibia [South-West Africa] and South Africa. This amount of ivory is equivalent to 3,500 dead elephants. If this ivory sale goes ahead it will have a devastating effect on elephants around the world. Any legal sale of ivory will create a smokescreen for illegal ivory trade, creating a huge incentive for poachers to slaughter endless elephants for their tusks.
Ivory poachers kill more than 10,000 elephants in Africa each year to supply the illegal ivory trade. Every time an elephant is killed it brings them one step closer to extinction. Elephants never forget and neither should we. Elephants are highly intelligent social creatures that create lifelong relationships. They cry, play, and have incredible memories - but when an elephant walks by the ivory-stripped remains of a slaughtered loved one, they stop still, pausing sorrowfully to roar and mourn. Elephants can stand vigil over dead herd members for days, even covering the bones with branches and dirt.
Please help the International Fund for Animal Welfare to stop the trade in ivory by sending an e-mail to your local MP. Ask him/her to urge the UK Minister for Bio-diversity, Mr Barry Gardiner MP, to oppose the stockpile sales and any future calls to re-open the trade in ivory.

THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE

In the second edition of this publication a profound article entitled "Dealing with poverty in Africa" appeared, which read as follows:-
"The billions of Pounds that have been pumped into the continent of Africa have done nothing to prevent the famine, AIDS and war that have engulfed the continent since the demise of Empire. Countless government initiatives have failed to address the problems, like the excuse for a pop concert (LIVE 8) and the continuous cancellation of debt. It is time a new initiative was proposed to rid the continent that is a scar on the rest of the world. Under British civilised rule, no such issues existed. Wealth and food was evenly distributed between British army and government officials, and the natives. AIDS was never even in existence under civilised rule and the reasons that have spread AIDS, like homosexuality and sex outside marriage were condemned. As much as the left-wing propaganda and self-determining nuts like to believe otherwise, it is no coincidence that this has all occurred since the surrender of our African colonies to the warlords that now rule. What Africa could really do with now, is a good dose of colonisation under the paternalistic eye of us British. One makes the point very sensibly, that there is no point in ploughing money into countries where the wealth does not filter down to the people, but where a government fat-cat spends it on his wedding ceremony instead! Neither is it a coincidence, that the states of South Africa and Rhodesia are engulfed in their current situations. Since the demise of civilised rule, both countries have gone on a downward spiral. Inflation in Rhodesia peaked at 2000% and over 75% of the population is unemployed. Under British civilised rule in contrast, Rhodesia was the breadbasket of Africa, where the Whites owned the farms, and the Blacks earned a good wage working the land. There was no such disease as AIDS and certainly no famine. Similarly in South Africa the Blacks in the townships are now even poorer than they were under apartheid. Whilst it is a hard argument to make - that a nation has a Divine right to rule - the achievements of the British Empire in building nations to what they are today comes close to the phrase. Our biggest mistake, however, was abandoning these countries when we did, and not nurturing them through to full development. They were so quick to cry 'independence', but so also to come running back for aid at their point of need. The reassertion of British rule around Africa would combat these increasing problems, simply because we have done so in the past. The situation in Zimbabwe, South Africa and smaller nations highlight this point. The demise of the continent of Africa has mirrored the demise of the British Empire. To my way of thinking, there seems to be only one solution to the problem."

ZIMBABWE/RHODESIAN PENSION ENTITLEMENTS
For several years Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensions have been withheld, and, it is suspected, the arrears have been stolen. Zimbabwe has gone from barbarism to degeneration with only a small interval of civilization. The people mainly responsible for that civilizing interval were dumped when the British Government off-loaded its Colonial responsibilities.
Most of the pensioners are British and are enraged by the silent acceptance of their stolen pensions. Many served in the British Forces in World War II, and their fathers fought in World War I. Many were encouraged by the British Government to go to Rhodesia and help in its post-war development. They then became victims of "The Winds of Change" and the blunders of inept or deceitful politicians.
Recently, the G8 countries cancelled $3.5 billion of African debt. Now they are discussing more billions to be given as aid. A fraction of this money would settle all Zimbabwe pension entitlements. Payment of pensions and arrears at the historic rate of Z$2 to one pound Sterling should be made a condition of any future aid procedures.
Many Zimbabwe pensioners are descendants of the Rhodesian Pioneers, who were heroes of Britain's Colonial Empire. They turned bushland into the breadbasket of Central Africa and made Rhodesia the Pearl of Africa. Now the breadbasket has become a basket-case, and these pensioners are surviving on handouts from charitable foundations.
Many pensioners cannot leave Zimbabwe; they are old and frail. Their monthly pensions (paid in Zimbabwe) will buy no more than a loaf of bread. They were born there, they have no other citizenship, their British stock is not recognized - they are dying. Please help them in any way you can.

TAU STATEMENT
We have recently received the following media release from the Transvaal Agricultural Union :-
"The President of TAU SA, Mr Paul van der Walt has requested the [South African] President, Mr Mbeki, in writing to repudiate the Minister of Safety and Security after his utterances that people who complain about crime should rather leave the country. Mr Nqakula's remarks were irresponsible and thoughtless and he owes the country an apology. Notwithstanding wide criticism from opposition parties, stake-holders and the public, Nqakula remains as silent as the graves of victims of crime. Mr van der Walt made it quite clear in his letter that should Mbeki not repudiate his Minister in public this will be interpreted as silent approval of his stance."

NORTHERN RHODESIAN NEWS
The following report appeared in a recent edition of the "News from Zambia" newsletter (available from: 4 Ashurst Way, East Preston, Littlehampton, Sussex, BN16 1AG) :-
"One hundred and forty-two ex-Northern Rhodesia and Zambia residents - as well as several of their children who had grown up in the country - sat down to lunch at the annual gathering of the Northern Rhodesian Reunion Association, in the Bibury Suite of the Salisbury Racecourse in Wiltshire. The oldest member attending was Gervas Clay, 99, who was Resident Commissioner of Barotseland in the 1960s. John Coates, a member of the Northern Rhodesia Police Association and of the Zambia Society Trust, made an appeal for a joint project which supports orphans of Zambian policemen and women. He also paid tribute to John Wyatt's organisation of the excellent lunch. Mrs. Elisabeth Young - whose late husband, Tom Young, was High Commissioner to Zambia, 1998-2002 - raised £150 through the sale of greeting cards, for the Zambia Society Trust."

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
In a recent speech to the UN Falkland Islands Councillor Dr Davies explained that the Islanders are never going to give up their right to self-determination and asked the Decolonisation Committee to support this. He pointed out that self-determination isn't just for "native" people - and pointed out that the majority of Argentines aren't natives themselves, while the Falklands has a history of seven or eight generations of peaceful development, which he pointed out is longer than in many parts of Argentina. He even quoted the Argentine national anthem with its call for liberty, and asked that if Argentines value this so highly themselves then why can't they allow it for the Islanders! He said that in reality Argentina would be a colonial power if it succeeded with its claim, and ended by emphasizing that the Islanders will never sacrifice their right to self-determination "in exchange for material benefits" (clearly a reference to Argentine economic pressure).

BLACK DEATH
Sir,
I was walking home from a Pub - not even half-a-mile from my home - late on a Friday night about a month ago, when I walked past what I thought were a group of Black men getting into their car. I was almost past them when the one bastard said "You interrupted us - we have to kill you now". I looked at them thinking this was some joke - then I realised they were breaking into the car. There were at least three, maybe four of them, and they proceeded to beat me to the point of almost death. Luckily I managed to kick the one bastard and give the hardest punch I have ever managed, which gave me enough time to scramble to my feet and run for my life. I made such a noise by that time people were taking notice, so my attackers left me.
The very next day from my flat window I saw the same people doing this to what could only be a 14 year-old boy, but this time it was early evening. I could do nothing, and then a week after that our family butchery got held-up at gunpoint.
I say VIVA death penalty!

OBITUARIES
SIR ALFRED SHERMAN
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Sir Alfred Sherman, particularly as he had agreed to speak at a future Springbok Club/ELC meeting. Sir Alfred was proud of his Jewish roots, but this did not stop him from being intensely loyal to the country where he lived and grew up. A renowned economist, he became a leading advisor to Margaret Thatcher, and was the intellectual force behind so many of the Conservative Party's successes during the 1980s, particularly the policy of privatisation. Sir Alfred was also a strong opponent of non-White immigration into the UK, and advocated a policy of repatriation, even for those non-Whites who by chance had been born in the country. In this regard he was particularly concerned about the dangers posed by the million-and-a-half Muslims resident in the UK - warnings which are of course being confirmed more and more by the day. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to Sir Alfred's grand-nephew Adrian Sherman, as also to other members of his family.

WREX TARR
It was also with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of the popular Rhodesian singer and comedian Wrex Tarr whilst entertaining in Cape Town at the age of 71. Wrex Tarr, the "Chilapalapa King", was certainly not a "politically correct" performer, but was greatly loved and admired in Rhodesia where his acts did so much to lift spirits during the days of the Bush War against Terrorism. Again our sincerest condolences are extended to Wrex's family.

As could have been predicted upon the fall of South Africa in the early 1990s, Israel became the next major target for international terrorists and their Leftist multi-culturalist fellow-travellers.
We predicted in 2000 that the decision of Ehud Barak's then Labour government of Israel to pull-out from southern Lebanon and to stab the Christian South Lebanon Army in the back was a cowardly sell-out, which could only result in severe long-term security dangers for the Israeli people. Likewise the betrayal of the Israeli settlers in the Gaza Strip by the government of the allegedly "hawkish" Ariel Sharon was yet another act of appeasement which all but the most myopic could have seen would only encourage the Hamas Islamic terrorists.
The parallels with the betrayals by the treacherous NP governments of South Africa towards the end of the last century are incredible. John Vorster thought that by selling-out Rhodesia in the 1970s he could protect South Africa - but evidently he had never heard that "Once you pay the Danegeld you'll never get rid of the Dane". Likewise the allegedly "hawkish" P.W.Botha was prepared to surrender SWA to the SWAPO terrorists in order to buy-off the international Leftist onslaught against South Africa itself - equally with exactly the opposite outcome.
Here, however, the parallel ends. Although P.W.Botha was succeeded by the ultimate of traitors in F.W.de Klerk, Sharon was succeeded by a man who surprisingly proved to have a bit of a backbone - Ehud Olmert. Olmert may never have been a military man, and many of his tactics may have proved ham-fisted and blundering, but once Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by the vile Hizbollah terrorists and their rockets started to rain down upon northern Israeli towns (as we predicted in 2000!) he at least had the courage to stand up and fight the terrorist evil, rather than meekly surrendering like the scumbag de Klerk.
Israel's military offensive against the Hizbollah Islamic-fascists has been regarded by some as being "disproportionate". Certainly there have been several strategic blunders by the IDF, and we must all mourn the loss of all innocent civilian life, but when the very future existence of a nation is at stake then surely any form of resistance is acceptable. If only South Africa could have had an Ehud Olmert in 1990!
This movement has no direct interest in Israel, and none of our leading members have any Jewish blood in their veins, but there are those of us who will NEVER forget how Israel proved South Africa's best overseas friend during the final days of civilised rule, and those of us with longer memories will also recall how Israel bravely stood side-by-side with Britain and France during the Suez War of 1956 - when the West was facing the prototype Islamic-fascist leader in Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The Israelis (along with the Serbs) are currently fighting on the West's frontline against aggressive Islamic expansionism which threatens us all. Their fight is therefore our fight. Victory to the IDF!

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC RHODES & FOUNDERS CELEBRATION BUFFET
The Springbok Club/ELC held a most successful event to celebrate Rhodes & Founders Day last month, when the guest of honour was Group Captain Peter Petter-Bowyer, the Chairman/Secretary of the Rhodesian Air Force Association. In a most enlightening and extremely well-received talk Group Captain Petter-Bowyer recounted many of his operational experiences within the Rhodesian Air Force, and detailed how they had been able to overcome international sanctions by developing their own weaponry which had proved extremely effective during the counter-terrorist campaign. He also emphasised how Rhodesia had never been defeated on the battlefield, and why the handover to the terrorists was not inevitable.
The turnout at this function was encouragingly high, and a number of attendees commented afterwards about how they regarded Group Captain Petter-Bowyer's talk as one of the most enthralling which they had ever listened to. The meeting itself was followed by a truly sumptuous buffet, and without doubt this event will prove to be the first of from now onwards annual Rhodes & Founders celebrations by the SC/ELC.

AUGUST SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENT
On Sunday 20th August the SC/ELC will be partaking in a "Sherlock Holmes" walking tour organised by "London Horror Tours". All those wishing to participate in this walking tour should assemble outside the Sherlock Holmes Shop in Baker Street (turn right into Baker Street from Baker Street Underground Station, then walk for 5 to 10 minutes until reaching the Sherlock Holmes Shop opposite the Sherlock Holmes Museum) from 13.45 hrs to 14.00 hrs. A special discount price of only £5.00 per head has been arranged for all SC/ELC supporters who join this tour. After this event an informal reception will be held at "The Volunteer" pub next to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, at which a visiting Australian guest and long-standing supporter of the movement, Mr Richard "Jock" Spooner, will be present. Mr. Spooner was formerly an active member of the National Party of the UK (which can be viewed as the ideological predecessor of today's UKIP) before emigrating to Australia during the late 1970s, and will be able to recount first-hand information about the current situation in Australia from a patriotic perspective.

Japan has been killing whales through a loophole in the global agreement that permits killing in the name of "scientific research." While legitimate scientists agree that there's no need to kill whales in order to study them, the killing of whales for "science" in Japan is really a commercial hunt in disguise.
Japanese whalers have been selling meat from their "research" to supermarkets, gourmet restaurants, even fast-food chains and school cafeterias. Now Japan is increasing the slaughter, doubling the number of whales to be killed in an international marine mammal sanctuary.
Unless they are stopped now Japan will launch a return to full-scale industrial whaling, the last of which once drove whales to the brink of extinction. Only the tremendous resources and clout of the United States has a chance to stop Japan from destroying the world's whales.

ZIMBABWE/RHODESIAN PENSION ENTITLEMENTS
For several years Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensions have been withheld, and, it is suspected, the arrears have been stolen. Zimbabwe has gone from barbarism to degeneration with only a small interval of civilization. The people mainly responsible for that civilizing interval were dumped when the British Government off-loaded it's Colonial responsibilities.
Most of the pensioners are British and are enraged by the silent acceptance of their stolen pensions. Many served in the British Forces in World War II, and their fathers fought in World War I. Many were encouraged by the British Government to go to Rhodesia and help in its post-war development. They then became victims of "The Winds of Change" and the blunders of inept or deceitful politicians.
Recently, the G8 countries cancelled $3.5 billion of African debt. Now they are discussing more billions to be given as aid. A fraction of this money would settle all Zimbabwe pension entitlements. Payment of pensions and arrears at the historic rate of Z$2 to one pound Sterling should be made a condition of any future aid procedures.
Many Zimbabwe pensioners are descendants of the Rhodesian Pioneers, who were heroes of Britain's Colonial Empire. They turned bushland into the breadbasket of Central Africa and made Rhodesia the Pearl of Africa. Now the breadbasket has become a basket-case, and these pensioners are surviving on handouts from charitable foundations.
Many pensioners cannot leave Zimbabwe; they are old and frail. Their monthly pensions (paid in Zimbabwe) will buy no more than a loaf of bread. They were born there, they have no other citizenship, their British stock is not recognized - they are dying. Please help them in any way you can.

LETTER FROM THE RHODES COMPLEX & MUSEUM
Most readers will recall that in April of this year the SC/ELC staged a return visit to the Rhodes Complex and Museum in Bishops Stortford, but were very disappointed with the number of concessions to "political correctness" which had been made at this Museum since the previous visit in 2000. As a result of a number of critical comments being placed in the "suggestion box" by the majority of those from the SC/ELC party, the following most encouraging letter has been received from the Museum Curator :-
"The new Cecil Rhodes Gallery was developed within the limits of the artefacts we have in our collection and the space available for display. We also had to consider how we could make this complicated story accessible to a wide variety of audiences. We have tried to develop a balanced approach to the story of Cecil Rhodes that will enable visitors to make up their own minds about Cecil Rhodes and his achievements. We offer factual information about both Cecil Rhodes and the political, economic and social climate of the time and hope that the information will encourage visitors to leave the galleries with a basic knowledge of the issues involved and a desire to learn more.
"With regard to the number of exhibits relating to Cecil Rhodes, there has not actually really been a reduction in space allocated to Cecil Rhodes, although as the museum is now much bigger this may seem to be the case. With regard [to] the bed and cradle, it was felt that the redevelopment was an opportunity to display other items in the Rhodes collection not previously seen. A reconstructed Victorian Drawing Room was therefore incorporated into the new design instead of the reconstructed bedroom. The bed that was on display did not actually belong to the Rhodes family but was purchased for the set dressing of the bedroom. The cradle is the original cradle in which Cecil Rhodes slept as a child and this is secure in out museum stores to be used in future displays.
"I hope this has helped to answer some of your concerns with regard [to] the new museum, but please do not hesitate to get in touch again if you have any further questions."
In view of this most friendly and helpful letter we would certainly encourage other supporters to visit the Rhodes Complex and Museum, and to voice similar polite concerns about the lack of space dedicated to honouring Bishops Stortford's most famous son.

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
Argentina’s Foreign Affairs minister Jorge Taiana recently claimed that Britain had ignored the "successive calls (for negotiations) from international forums" adding that "UK unilateral actions" have estranged the possibilities of an agreement.
However a British Embassy spokesperson in Buenos Aires said that the UK position is well known: "We will not negotiate on the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands unless and until the Islanders wish us to do so". Furthermore the UK is "awaiting Argentine proposals on a number of areas to improve things. We believe the way forward is to make bilateral agreements work to the benefit of all. The UK is only responsible for matters of defence and foreign policy. All other decisions are taken and financed by the democratically elected Falkland Islands Government". Equally important, it was added, "the UK believes in the principle of self-determination as set out in the Charter of the UN. To force this group of people to change their government against their will would be morally unacceptable".

DIS-GRACE MUGABE
Sir,
It is not surprising that Thabo Mbeki is in Britain negotiating a deal on behalf of Robert Mugabe in order that he has immunity from prosecution from human rights abuses in the past and the present. Now we know what Thabo Mbeki's means when he speaks of quiet diplomacy with Mugabe.
Least we not forget the ANC'S 100th anniversary in 2007 where Mugabe will no doubt be hailed as a hero in the so-called liberation struggle. Where freedom of speech, freedom of association and freedom of movement in Zimbabwe are monitored daily and crushed by the army, police and so-called war veterans. Where the media have been bombed and shut down by Mugabe, where the judiciary is politicised and belong to Mugabe's ZANU-PF regime. All in the name of freedom!
Tony Blair you are embarrassment and a disgrace. No wonder Britain is spiralling out of control. Mugabe and ZANU-PF have total control over the economy in Zimbabwe regardless of which political party forms a new government. Why not give a blank slate to all ZANU-PF members who have murdered, raped and robbed, for that in truth is how deep the mass human rights abuses are. Enter the IMF and the United Nations for Tony Blair's quiet diplomacy.

NEWS-SPEAK
Sir,
South African TV news, if it can any longer be called that, is now pretty grim. Black rules; the language is a sort of English, the accents are ghastly. To one who in his youth was a freelance radio man when SABC and BBC sounded identical, this is hard to bear. What SABC now presents as news is 99% local items of kaffir funerals, (often two in one broadcast) kaffirs being bashed up by brutal White cops (yes, there are still a few of these left) whilst indulging in almost daily strikes and demonstrations, and, as a welcome variation, SA Rugby Board meetings where those participating are, with very few exceptions, Black - although the actual players are almost without exception White. This fact has not escaped the attention of the Rugby Board, who have vowed to change the racial composition of South African Rugby, although this inevitably means the downgrading of play to the level of Bfana Bfana (and God knows, you cannot get much lower than that!) The only "must" in the sports administrators' minds is that the players "must" be Black, irrespective of results. However, all this could be borne by those with TV, because on TV3, known to my amusement as "the English programme" we had real genuine BBC News and Sky News from 06:00 to 07:30 every morning - until the 1st June. 0n this day the voice of democracy was no longer heard on TV3.

Here you are classified as a multi-millionaire if you own a car and a multi-trillionaire if you own your own house. To go shopping we have these special bags for carrying our money around in and nobody tries to rip you off because it is not worth it. The power cuts are getting worse and worse, we are having two a day 06:30 until 11:00, and again 17:45 until about 21:30.

IT'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN
In the December 2005 edition of the SCN we recounted the problems which we had encountered from an ex-South African named Deirdre Fields, now based in the United States, who had been inundating us with unsolicited anti-Semitic postings.
A friend has subsequently forwarded us a copy of an "interview" which this same Deirdre Fields gave to an American organisation called "National Vanguard" recently. In places this seems somewhat like "educating the under-eights" (in one section the interviewer states "Afrikaans, the language of many of the White South Africans, correct?" - no, we're not making this up!). More sickly, however, Mrs. Fields blames all of South Africa's woes - past and present - onto "the Jews", and even more paranoiacally attacks British South Africans in much the same way (forget all about the sell-out NP politicians!). In so doing Mrs. Fields neglects to mention one important fact however, namely that she herself is half-British - her mother being a British South African named Stephanie Hawkins! As we've mentioned before, her uncle, the late, great Tom Hawkins, was a strong supporter of the Durban-based Patriotic Forum (the predecessor of today's Springbok Club) and of S.A.Patriot magazine, and was intensely proud of his service record fighting against the scourge of Nazism during WWII. No doubt he would now be spinning in his grave if he was to hear all the anti-Semitic and anti-British poison which his niece is now spewing out!

August 2006 edition
As could have been predicted upon the fall of South Africa in the early 1990s, Israel became the next major target for international terrorists and their Leftist multi-culturalist fellow-travellers.
We predicted in 2000 that the decision of Ehud Barak's then Labour government of Israel to pull-out from southern Lebanon and to stab the Christian South Lebanon Army in the back was a cowardly sell-out, which could only result in severe long-term security dangers for the Israeli people. Likewise the betrayal of the Israeli settlers in the Gaza Strip by the government of the allegedly "hawkish" Ariel Sharon was yet another act of appeasement which all but the most myopic could have seen would only encourage the Hamas Islamic terrorists.
The parallels with the betrayals by the treacherous NP governments of South Africa towards the end of the last century are incredible. John Vorster thought that by selling-out Rhodesia in the 1970s he could protect South Africa - but evidently he had never heard that "Once you pay the Danegeld you'll never get rid of the Dane". Likewise the allegedly "hawkish" P.W.Botha was prepared to surrender SWA to the SWAPO terrorists in order to buy-off the international Leftist onslaught against South Africa itself - equally with exactly the opposite outcome.
Here, however, the parallel ends. Although P.W.Botha was succeeded by the ultimate of traitors in F.W.de Klerk, Sharon was succeeded by a man who surprisingly proved to have a bit of a backbone - Ehud Olmert. Olmert may never have been a military man, and many of his tactics may have proved ham-fisted and blundering, but once Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by the vile Hizbollah terrorists and their rockets started to rain down upon northern Israeli towns (as we predicted in 2000!) he at least had the courage to stand up and fight the terrorist evil, rather than meekly surrendering like the scumbag de Klerk.
Israel's military offensive against the Hizbollah Islamic-fascists has been regarded by some as being "disproportionate". Certainly there have been several strategic blunders by the IDF, and we must all mourn the loss of all innocent civilian life, but when the very future existence of a nation is at stake then surely any form of resistance is acceptable. If only South Africa could have had an Ehud Olmert in 1990!
This movement has no direct interest in Israel, and none of our leading members have any Jewish blood in their veins, but there are those of us who will NEVER forget how Israel proved South Africa's best overseas friend during the final days of civilised rule, and those of us with longer memories will also recall how Israel bravely stood side-by-side with Britain and France during the Suez War of 1956 - when the West was facing the prototype Islamic-fascist leader in Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The Israelis (along with the Serbs) are currently fighting on the West's frontline against aggressive Islamic expansionism which threatens us all. Their fight is therefore our fight. Victory to the IDF!

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC RHODES & FOUNDERS CELEBRATION BUFFET
The Springbok Club/ELC held a most successful event to celebrate Rhodes & Founders Day last month, when the guest of honour was Group Captain Peter Petter-Bowyer, the Chairman/Secretary of the Rhodesian Air Force Association. In a most enlightening and extremely well-received talk Group Captain Petter-Bowyer recounted many of his operational experiences within the Rhodesian Air Force, and detailed how they had been able to overcome international sanctions by developing their own weaponry which had proved extremely effective during the counter-terrorist campaign. He also emphasised how Rhodesia had never been defeated on the battlefield, and why the handover to the terrorists was not inevitable.
The turnout at this function was encouragingly high, and a number of attendees commented afterwards about how they regarded Group Captain Petter-Bowyer's talk as one of the most enthralling which they had ever listened to. The meeting itself was followed by a truly sumptuous buffet, and without doubt this event will prove to be the first of from now onwards annual Rhodes & Founders celebrations by the SC/ELC.

AUGUST SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENT
On Sunday 20th August the SC/ELC will be partaking in a "Sherlock Holmes" walking tour organised by "London Horror Tours". All those wishing to participate in this walking tour should assemble outside the Sherlock Holmes Shop in Baker Street (turn right into Baker Street from Baker Street Underground Station, then walk for 5 to 10 minutes until reaching the Sherlock Holmes Shop opposite the Sherlock Holmes Museum) from 13.45 hrs to 14.00 hrs. A special discount price of only £5.00 per head has been arranged for all SC/ELC supporters who join this tour. After this event an informal reception will be held at "The Volunteer" pub next to the Sherlock Holmes Museum, at which a visiting Australian guest and long-standing supporter of the movement, Mr Richard "Jock" Spooner, will be present. Mr. Spooner was formerly an active member of the National Party of the UK (which can be viewed as the ideological predecessor of today's UKIP) before emigrating to Australia during the late 1970s, and will be able to recount first-hand information about the current situation in Australia from a patriotic perspective.

HELP STOP JAPANESE WHALE KILLINGS
Japan has been killing whales through a loophole in the global agreement that permits killing in the name of "scientific research." While legitimate scientists agree that there's no need to kill whales in order to study them, the killing of whales for "science" in Japan is really a commercial hunt in disguise.
Japanese whalers have been selling meat from their "research" to supermarkets, gourmet restaurants, even fast-food chains and school cafeterias. Now Japan is increasing the slaughter, doubling the number of whales to be killed in an international marine mammal sanctuary.
Unless they are stopped now Japan will launch a return to full-scale industrial whaling, the last of which once drove whales to the brink of extinction. Only the tremendous resources and clout of the United States has a chance to stop Japan from destroying the world's whales.

ZIMBABWE/RHODESIAN PENSION ENTITLEMENTS
For several years Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensions have been withheld, and, it is suspected, the arrears have been stolen. Zimbabwe has gone from barbarism to degeneration with only a small interval of civilization. The people mainly responsible for that civilizing interval were dumped when the British Government off-loaded it's Colonial responsibilities.
Most of the pensioners are British and are enraged by the silent acceptance of their stolen pensions. Many served in the British Forces in World War II, and their fathers fought in World War I. Many were encouraged by the British Government to go to Rhodesia and help in its post-war development. They then became victims of "The Winds of Change" and the blunders of inept or deceitful politicians.
Recently, the G8 countries cancelled $3.5 billion of African debt. Now they are discussing more billions to be given as aid. A fraction of this money would settle all Zimbabwe pension entitlements. Payment of pensions and arrears at the historic rate of Z$2 to one pound Sterling should be made a condition of any future aid procedures.
Many Zimbabwe pensioners are descendants of the Rhodesian Pioneers, who were heroes of Britain's Colonial Empire. They turned bushland into the breadbasket of Central Africa and made Rhodesia the Pearl of Africa. Now the breadbasket has become a basket-case, and these pensioners are surviving on handouts from charitable foundations.
Many pensioners cannot leave Zimbabwe; they are old and frail. Their monthly pensions (paid in Zimbabwe) will buy no more than a loaf of bread. They were born there, they have no other citizenship, their British stock is not recognized - they are dying. Please help them in any way you can.

LETTER FROM THE RHODES COMPLEX & MUSEUM
Most readers will recall that in April of this year the SC/ELC staged a return visit to the Rhodes Complex and Museum in Bishops Stortford, but were very disappointed with the number of concessions to "political correctness" which had been made at this Museum since the previous visit in 2000. As a result of a number of critical comments being placed in the "suggestion box" by the majority of those from the SC/ELC party, the following most encouraging letter has been received from the Museum Curator :-
"The new Cecil Rhodes Gallery was developed within the limits of the artefacts we have in our collection and the space available for display. We also had to consider how we could make this complicated story accessible to a wide variety of audiences. We have tried to develop a balanced approach to the story of Cecil Rhodes that will enable visitors to make up their own minds about Cecil Rhodes and his achievements. We offer factual information about both Cecil Rhodes and the political, economic and social climate of the time and hope that the information will encourage visitors to leave the galleries with a basic knowledge of the issues involved and a desire to learn more.
"With regard to the number of exhibits relating to Cecil Rhodes, there has not actually really been a reduction in space allocated to Cecil Rhodes, although as the museum is now much bigger this may seem to be the case. With regard [to] the bed and cradle, it was felt that the redevelopment was an opportunity to display other items in the Rhodes collection not previously seen. A reconstructed Victorian Drawing Room was therefore incorporated into the new design instead of the reconstructed bedroom. The bed that was on display did not actually belong to the Rhodes family but was purchased for the set dressing of the bedroom. The cradle is the original cradle in which Cecil Rhodes slept as a child and this is secure in out museum stores to be used in future displays.
"I hope this has helped to answer some of your concerns with regard [to] the new museum, but please do not hesitate to get in touch again if you have any further questions."
In view of this most friendly and helpful letter we would certainly encourage other supporters to visit the Rhodes Complex and Museum, and to voice similar polite concerns about the lack of space dedicated to honouring Bishops Stortford's most famous son.

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
Argentina’s Foreign Affairs minister Jorge Taiana recently claimed that Britain had ignored the "successive calls (for negotiations) from international forums" adding that "UK unilateral actions" have estranged the possibilities of an agreement.
However a British Embassy spokesperson in Buenos Aires said that the UK position is well known: "We will not negotiate on the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands unless and until the Islanders wish us to do so". Furthermore the UK is "awaiting Argentine proposals on a number of areas to improve things. We believe the way forward is to make bilateral agreements work to the benefit of all. The UK is only responsible for matters of defence and foreign policy. All other decisions are taken and financed by the democratically elected Falkland Islands Government". Equally important, it was added, "the UK believes in the principle of self-determination as set out in the Charter of the UN. To force this group of people to change their government against their will would be morally unacceptable".

DIS-GRACE MUGABE
Sir,
It is not surprising that Thabo Mbeki is in Britain negotiating a deal on behalf of Robert Mugabe in order that he has immunity from prosecution from human rights abuses in the past and the present. Now we know what Thabo Mbeki's means when he speaks of quiet diplomacy with Mugabe.
Least we not forget the ANC'S 100th anniversary in 2007 where Mugabe will no doubt be hailed as a hero in the so-called liberation struggle. Where freedom of speech, freedom of association and freedom of movement in Zimbabwe are monitored daily and crushed by the army, police and so-called war veterans. Where the media have been bombed and shut down by Mugabe, where the judiciary is politicised and belong to Mugabe's ZANU-PF regime. All in the name of freedom!
Tony Blair you are embarrassment and a disgrace. No wonder Britain is spiralling out of control. Mugabe and ZANU-PF have total control over the economy in Zimbabwe regardless of which political party forms a new government. Why not give a blank slate to all ZANU-PF members who have murdered, raped and robbed, for that in truth is how deep the mass human rights abuses are. Enter the IMF and the United Nations for Tony Blair's quiet diplomacy.

NEWS-SPEAK
Sir,
South African TV news, if it can any longer be called that, is now pretty grim. Black rules; the language is a sort of English, the accents are ghastly. To one who in his youth was a freelance radio man when SABC and BBC sounded identical, this is hard to bear. What SABC now presents as news is 99% local items of kaffir funerals, (often two in one broadcast) kaffirs being bashed up by brutal White cops (yes, there are still a few of these left) whilst indulging in almost daily strikes and demonstrations, and, as a welcome variation, SA Rugby Board meetings where those participating are, with very few exceptions, Black - although the actual players are almost without exception White. This fact has not escaped the attention of the Rugby Board, who have vowed to change the racial composition of South African Rugby, although this inevitably means the downgrading of play to the level of Bfana Bfana (and God knows, you cannot get much lower than that!) The only "must" in the sports administrators' minds is that the players "must" be Black, irrespective of results. However, all this could be borne by those with TV, because on TV3, known to my amusement as "the English programme" we had real genuine BBC News and Sky News from 06:00 to 07:30 every morning - until the 1st June. 0n this day the voice of democracy was no longer heard on TV3.

The cost of living is sky rocketing so fast that it is impossible to imagine what is like. They have just brought out a $100,000 note which will only buy a half a loaf of bread. Here you are classified as a multi-millionaire if you own a car and a multi-trillionaire if you own your own house. To go shopping we have these special bags for carrying our money around in and nobody tries to rip you off because it is not worth it. The power cuts are getting worse and worse, we are having two a day 06:30 until 11:00, and again 17:45 until about 21:30.

IT'S THAT WOMAN AGAIN
In the December 2005 edition of the SCN we recounted the problems which we had encountered from an ex-South African named Deirdre Fields, now based in the United States, who had been inundating us with unsolicited anti-Semitic postings.
A friend has subsequently forwarded us a copy of an "interview" which this same Deirdre Fields gave to an American organisation called "National Vanguard" recently. In places this seems somewhat like "educating the under-eights" (in one section the interviewer states "Afrikaans, the language of many of the White South Africans, correct?" - no, we're not making this up!). More sickly, however, Mrs. Fields blames all of South Africa's woes - past and present - onto "the Jews", and even more paranoiacally attacks British South Africans in much the same way (forget all about the sell-out NP politicians!). In so doing Mrs. Fields neglects to mention one important fact however, namely that she herself is half-British - her mother being a British South African named Stephanie Hawkins! As we've mentioned before, her uncle, the late, great Tom Hawkins, was a strong supporter of the Durban-based Patriotic Forum (the predecessor of today's Springbok Club) and of S.A.Patriot magazine, and was intensely proud of his service record fighting against the scourge of Nazism during WWII. No doubt he would now be spinning in his grave if he was to hear all the anti-Semitic and anti-British poison which his niece is now spewing out!
