International headlines over the past couple of months have been dominated by the popular uprisings in certain Arab countries against despotic regimes - though in the case of Libya even the term "despotic" probably seems too polite to describe Gaddafi and his henchmen!

Perhaps the most encouraging factor about these uprisings is that they have in the main been orchestrated the younger, more secular, more media-savvy and pro-Western sections of the population, and have not involved Islamic fundamentalist elements such as the Muslim Brotherhood. It is also a fact that these uprisings have undoubtedly been encouraged, if not actually influenced, by Western intervention to remove similar tyrannical regimes in the Islamic world, specifically in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Libyan freedom-fighters may proclaim that they can liberate themselves without any need for Western military intervention, but alas more recent developments in that unfortunate land have demonstrated that forces loyal to the madman Gaddafi cannot be defeated by internal opposition alone, and that some form of Western muscular aid is necessary.

But perhaps there is another more basic factor regarding these uprisings which has been overlooked. The discontent with the ruling regimes hasn't simply occurred overnight - there has clearly been massive opposition to the rule of the tyrants for many decades, indeed right from the moments when they usurped power. In the regard the post-WWII Western mindset is probably to blame. Had the French not abdicated power in Tunisia then the Tunisian people would not have suffered under Ben Ali. Had Britain not capitulated to UN pressure after the Suez intervention then the Egyptian people would not have been under the yoke of Mubarak (it should never be forgotten that Mubarak is the direct second-heir of the despot Nasser). Had the Italians not abandoned Libya then the Libyan people would have been infinitely less suppressed.

Even after their abdication of colonial authority the Western powers still alas acted in a most reprehensible - maybe even cowardly - manner. It didn't take long for the deranged megalomaniac Gaddafi to reveal his true colours after he deposed King Idris some 41 years ago, yet the Western powers did nothing - nothing - (except for a few ineffective bombing raids during the mid-1980s) to remove this tyrant. As a result Gaddafi's regime was able to enact the bombing of PanAm 103 over Lockerbie, murder WPC Yvonne Fletcher in London, and to supply arms to their brother-terrorists of SF/IRA. Had the West possessed leadership with courage and determination 41 years ago to intervene once the true nature of Gaddafi's evil regime became apparent then not only would the Libyan people have been spared 41 years of unnecessary suffering, but WPC Fletcher, all the innocents killed at Lockerbie and the countless innocent citizens of Northern Ireland who were slaughter by SF/IRA scum using weapons supplied by Gaddafi would all probably still be alive today.

But how does all this relate to those of us from Southern Africa? For two main reasons. Firstly Gaddafi enjoyed very close personal friendship with the unreconstructed ANC terrorist leader "Nelson" Mandela (indeed a picture of Gaddafi and his brother-terrorist Mandela hugging one another appeared in S.A.Patriot-in-Exile No.35). How much longer, we therefore wonder, before the Blacks of South Africa rise up against the tyrants of the ANC regime in a similar manner to which the Arabs of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya have risen up against their own despots? - and likewise in "Zimbabwe" and "Namibia" against the tyrannical ZANU/PF and SWAPO regimes also?

Secondly it has been extremely encouraging to observe that the Libyan freedom-fighters have not only totally rejected the plain green flag of the Gaddafi regime, but furthermore, instead of adopting some form of new flag, have eagerly reinstated the former flag of King Idris's Libya! There have been many who have cynically dismissed our own adherence to the only true and real South African flag, saying that "it will never be reinstated" - yet here now is the third example since the NP capitulation to the ANC terrorists where a country has reverted to their former authentic flags after a period of suppressive dictatorial rule - firstly in Russia (and indeed, with minor alterations, in other former Iron Curtain countries also), then in Afghanistan, and now in Libya. As far as world history is concerned, therefore, it's probably best never to say "never"!

SPRINGBOK CLUB FEBRUARY EVENT

The Springbok Club held a happy and constructive social get-together in south London last month, at which ExCo member Susan Gordon gave a most informative illustrated report-back on her recent trip back to Kenya where she was born. Unfortunately the new location in south London didn't prove very convenient for many supporters, and the turnout was therefore somewhat lower than hoped and anticipated. This was a pity, as those her weren't able to attend because of the location missed a most pleasant and convivial evening's activity.

SPRINGBOK CLUB'S MARCH ACTIVITY

As agreed at the Springbok Club's 2011 AGM in January, the organisation will be staging a special informal "Sports Day" in March, the details of which are as follows :-

Date  :   Saturday 19th March

Time  :   Turn up at any time from mid-day onwards

Venue :   The Bok Bar, 56 Blandford Street, London W1U 7JA (nearest underground station: Baker Street. Cross the Marylebone Road [A501] then head down Baker Street, where Blandford Street is the fourth on the left.)

Screenings of both the Cricket World Cup matches between South Africa and Bangladesh (East Bengal) and Australia and Pakistan (the North-West Frontier Districts), as well as all three Rugby 6-nation matches will be shown at this venue during the day. The location is also very adjacent to Madam Tussaud’s Waxworks, the Wallace Collection with its fine armoury, a comprehensive bookshop with a good history section at 91 Marylebone High Street, and Regents Park - so all are therefore invited to what promises to be a most enjoyable and uplifting informal day out.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB EVENTS

In April 2011 the Springbok Club will be holding a full day's activities to celebrate Van Riebeeck's Day, which it is anticipated will include a braai and special musical entertainment.

In May the Springbok Club will be staging a trip to Hatfield House in Hertfordshire in order to pay respects at the RLI "Troopie" Statue which is now situated there, as well as touring Hatfield House itself.

SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS

The Swinton Circle held a most successful and enthralling meeting earlier this month which was addressed by Mr. Christopher Gillibrand MA, MBA. Mr. Gillibrand, who is a highly respected political commentator and the director of a Brussels-based pro-free market think-tank, gave a highly informative talk entitled "EU - the Final Act?" in which he demonstrated why Britain's entanglement with the EU was the main reason for the UK's current political, social and economic catastrophe. He finished his talk on a far more optimistic note however, asking the question "what will happen now, and what can we do about it?", which was a call to action to defend traditional British liberties, advocating that Britain should once more look towards the outside world (particularly the United States) rather than to the European continent for its closest relationships.

A further most encouraging development from this meeting was that a number of excellent new contacts were made, which could lead to several similar interesting guest speakers being invited to address the Swinton Circle in the near future - in addition to the MP speakers who are already scheduled for later during the year.

TAU SA MEDIA RELEASE

We have recently been forwarded the following significant media statement by the Transvaal Agricultural Union of South Africa :-

"TAU SA objects in the strongest terms imaginable to the newly-appointed Deputy Minister of Police Maggie Sotyu's statement that Whites are sentenced too light by the courts and that they should be punished heavier.

"She stepped close to the same ill-considered and irresponsible trap of some of her colleagues in the past, by making wild statements without a single fact to submit to her unsubstantiated assertion, even just to try to substantiate it.

"In fact, TAU SA is of the opinion that Whites are even more heavily punished than others. This was clear from the sentence of the Skierlik-shooter and from the fact that a rugby player gets R100,000 bail in connection with the death of a cop. Even Mr. Clive Derby-Lewis's case shows that Whites are more heavily punished and denied their rights, in contrast to the treatment of Mr. Zuma's friend, Shabir Shaik.

"'The deputy minister again creates an environment where Whites are given an unfair sense of guilt and where whites will become victims of hateful racist elements. This can lead to violence against whites, which can include farm attacks,' said Mr. Ben Marais, President of TAU SA.

"TAU SA calls on Mr. Zuma immediately to recall his newly appointed deputy minister as she has not yet entrenched in her new position, because she is blowing up racial hatred, and shows a callous disregard for the work of the judiciary, said Marais."

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?

No.148 :  Mr. DAVID OVERTON of Cape Town.

David Overton was one of the four original founders of the Save Rhodesia Campaign in Cape Town during the mid 1970s. Alas, following the internal friction which affected the organisation shortly after its formation, when Brendan Willmer staged a coup to eject his fellow-founders Stanley Deane and Bernie Foyle, David Overton initially sided with the wretched Willmer - though this was a decision which he subsequently lived to regret. He was a highly talented and extremely likeable political operative, and acted as a supremely effective press officer for the SRC during the early period of its existence. Once he saw through the phoniness of Willmer, however, he left the organisation, and is believed to have moved to Europe in order to embark upon a writing career. Willmer, and alas Stanley Deane and Bernie Foyle also, are all now dead, but we have no idea of what became of David Overton. Any further information about him would therefore be most appreciated.

Sir,

The nail that sticks up gets hammered down, the tall trees catch the wind. The price we pay for honesty is the attacks of the dishonest, who vastly outnumber us. No doubt there are a few Blacks involved with that freebie newspaper ["The South African"] - go figure. Also, a lot of South Africans still think of "home" as it was - they are blissfully unaware of what it is like to today - like the Rhodesian "When-we's."

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Sir,

You may recall that after President de Klerk repealed all the apartheid legislation South Africa was plunged into an orgy of violence. Some 12,000 people (mainly Blacks) lost their lives between 1990 ad 1994. The security forces killed about 700 trying to maintain peace in the townships. Blacks were responsible for killing about 11,000 of their own.

Question: What was it all about? Answer: To terrorise the proletariat into voting for the ANC in the forthcoming elections - which the West duly declared free and fair.

We now also know that some 3,700 White farmers in South Africa have been randomly and brutally slaughtered in the 16 years since "freedom" in 1994.

Question: Again we ask the question - Why? Answer: Look at Zimbabwe. Can you see the similarities? If anyone has any doubts about what is going on in South Africa today, and why it is happening, we only need to look at what is taking place north of the Limpopo in Zimbabwe.

We should also remember that the British Labour Government knighted Robert Mugabe whilst all this violence was being perpetrated. Similarly the British politicians and civil servants at the forefront of ending Rhodesian UDI were also the recipients of national honours.

Has the time not come for you to start informing your readers of the truth behind all the nefarious activities of the ANC? Has the time not come for the civilised world actually to make a stand and restore capable government to these previous Western allies before they fall into the opposition camp forever?

The eloquent illustrated address by Roy Bennett to the UK Parliament clearly laid out the game plan of ZANU-PF and the ANC. Is anybody going to do something or are we just going to tut-tut and continue with our 'politically correct' lives for fear of being labelled "racist"?

ESCAPE ROUTE

Sir,

When word got out that Canada granted Brandon Huntley asylum, the ANC regime put great pressure on Ottawa to have it reversed, since it 'embarrassed' the illicit Marxist regime in South Africa. Not many people know that more than 800 White South Africans have been granted political asylum in the past ten years, numerous of those being in the UK. Why the Huntley case drew so much attention is not known.

DIRTY TRICKS

Thankfully we have received no further reports of the circulation of the vile and evil fabricated obscene pictures claimed to be of the editor of the SCN, no doubt because this disgusting smear has been reported to the Police - and the person responsible for this depraved concoction knows this to be the case!

We have however recently been informed of a very similar degenerate smear campaign which has been waged against a well-known EuroSceptic maverick (we won't name the EuroSceptic in question or the web-site on which this smear appears in other to spare him embarrassment). This attack also involved a fabricated picture of an individual in a perverted pose - though in this case with the head of the victim superimposed upon a semi-naked male body (probably by means of Photoshop software, which we were informed by an expert had obviously been used on some of the earlier doctored pictures of the editor). Although this recent fake picture claiming to be of the EuroSceptic maverick is clothed in somewhat different fetish attire to the previous concocted photographs, the body-build of the figure pictured indicates that the same male model was used in both cases.

It of course brings us no pleasure to learn that there is now another innocent victim of the evil fabricator of these pornographic pictures, but it does even so confirm that the culprit is a totally sick individual, who is in dire need of psychiatric treatment.

On March 15th tickets will go on sale for the 2012 London Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This of course will be an exciting moment not only for all British sports fans, but for all British patriots. The UK hasn't hosted any Olympic Games since 1948, and for a nation with such sporting pedigree this has been far, far too long to wait. London 2012 will undoubtedly be the greatest and most spectacular event to take place in Britain since the Coronation of 1953, and the legacy which will follow will endow British youth for generations to come.

But the advantages of staging an Olympic Games cannot only be measured in sporting terms. The Games have already generated massive employment opportunities in the construction and advertising industries, and once the competitions actually begin the extra income resulting from tourism and international media rights will be enormous. With the whole world currently languishing in economic recession this will give the UK a head-and-a-half advantage over all other Western nations.

On several occasions previously over recent years - most notably Barcelona in 1992, Sydney in 2000 and Vancouver (for the Winter Olympics) in 2010 - the staging of Olympic Games have not only brought immediate sporting excitement, but have also acted as catalysts to regenerate nations, and to enhance national self-confidence. There is no reason to believe why this should not also prove to be the case in the UK after London 2012. An ancient and Imperially glorious nation will be rejuvenated and reactivated. The days ahead will surely inspire us!

In view of all these self-evident advantages gained by hosting the Olympic Games it would be reasonable to expect that nobody in the UK could possibly be opposed to them - but this astonishingly does not appear to be the case. There appears to be a small group of bleeding-heart liberals who not only oppose London hosting the 2012 Olympic Games, but who actually advocate that all future Olympics should be held in Athens! These kill-joys who float this ludicrous idea clearly miss the whole point. It is the different geographical and cultural location of the venue which MAKES each Olympiad so distinct and memorable. Fanny Blankers-Koen's triumphs are not remembered because they took place in 1948, but because they took place in London; Emil Zatopek's achievements are not recalled because they happened in 1952 but because his victories were in Helsinki; Mark Spitz's world-beating records are hailed not because they occurred in 1972 but because Munich was the venue; Ian Thorpe's victories have not gone down in Australian folklore because they happened in 2000, but because they took place in Sydney!

So why do these left-wing weirdoes wish to stop the Olympics being staged in different venues every four years? The answer would appear to be obvious. Those of this mindset are opposed to ALL manifestations of nationalism and patriotism. To them the upsurge in national pride which occurs in one country after another each Olympiad is anathema. Make no mistake, if they succeed in their ridiculous proposal of staging every Summer Olympics in Athens (where do they advocate staging each Winter Olympics we wonder?) then their next step - as already suggested in some leftist circles - is for all competitors to compete as individuals in identical Olympic vests rather than representing their nations. They wish to eliminate all traces of national and ethnic identity for their own warped ideological agenda, so therefore must be opposed at every opportunity.

But we shouldn't worry about these irrelevant anti-national kill-joys. The London Olympics are now so well advanced that they will go ahead come what may - and we can't wait! And after London there will of course be Rio in 2016, celebrating its broader Lusitanian culture and identity. Then perhaps, sometime in a post-ANC South Africa, we may dream of a future Olympics taking place in Durban, Jo'burg or Pretoria!

SPRINGBOK CLUB 2011 A.G.M.

The Springbok Club held a most successful 2011 AGM last month. After all the problems which engulfed the organisation towards the end of 2010 this was expected to be a very difficult meeting, but in the event the Springbok Club emerged renewed and reinvigorated. A new committee with a new Chairman was elected, but more importantly significant decisions were agreed upon about the direction that the organisation should take in future. It was decided to concentrate more upon presenting a "golden vision" for the future from now onwards, rather than dwelling upon Southern Africa's present appalling problems. Everyone knows the disastrous situation prevailing in current day South Africa and Zimbabwe, and there are plenty of more politically-orientated bodies who are already alerting the outside world to this tragedy, but what is needed - and this after all was why the Springbok Club was founded in the first place - is a forward-looking organisation offering an exciting and exhilarating vision for the future. From now onwards, therefore, the Springbok Club will concentrate more upon the social, sporting, cultural, historical and wildlife aspects of our task in uniting expatriate Southern Africans and their friends, and organising for the future!

SPRINGBOK CLUB'S FEBRUARY ACTIVITY

The Springbok Club will be holding a special get-together later the month at which our Treasurer, Susan Gordon, will be giving an illustrated presentation of her recent trip to Kenya. This event will take place on Thursday 24th February at the "Collier's Tup" (directly opposite Collier's Wood Tube Station on the Northern Line - south branch). Start gathering from 18.00 hrs onwards, and the actual presentation will begin at approx. 18.30 hrs.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB EVENTS

On Saturday 19th March the Springbok Club will be staging a special "sports day" in south London, when supporters will be able to view the World Cup Cricket match between Bangladesh and South Africa and the final rounds of this year's 6 Nations Rugby competition.

In April 2011 the Springbok Club will be holding a full day's activities to celebrate Van Riebeeck's Day, which it is anticipated will include a braai and special musical entertainment.

In May the Springbok Club will be staging a trip to Hatfield House in Hertfordshire in order to pay respects at the RLI "Troopie" Statue which is now situated there, as well as touring Hatfield House.

SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS

Unfortunately last month's Swinton Circle meeting which was to have been addressed by Mr. Gordon Henderson MP had to be postponed at the last minute because of a misunderstanding. Mr. Henderson has agreed to address the Swinton Circle at a later date however, probably towards the end of the year.

Christopher Gillibrand is a highly respected political commentator and the director of a Brussels-based pro-free market think-tank. Mr. Gillibrand is the son of a trade union leader, a former Conservative Party constituency treasurer and a local council candidate in Oxford. He has been active for many years on the right of the Conservative Party, and will speak from first-hand experience about the day-by-day attacks on British institutions and freedoms by the European establishment. The theme of his talk will be: "EU - the Final Act?", and will focus upon daily life in the Brussels bubble and its isolation from real life, coupled with a real and systemic democratic deficit. He will also illustrate the degree to which the EU is responsible for the UK's current political, social and economic catastrophe. Finally he will ask the question "what will happen now, and what can we do about it?". It will be a call to action to defend traditional British liberties.

LATEST REPORTS FROM THE ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE

On Thursday 7th October 2010, in Gokwe, President Robert Mugabe held a ZANU-PF rally combined with the official opening of the Women's Empowerment Bank. In order to entice people to attend this event, 3 elephant, 3 buffalo and a number of smaller animals were shot and cooked. It is common knowledge that under the current economic climate, many people in the rural areas are starving and will make an effort to attend any function where free food is available.

The baboon population in Mwenezi is in danger of being wiped out as villagers in the area have resorted to eating them in an effort to avert hunger and starvation. Prior to the Land Reform Programme in 2000 Mwenezi had an abundance of wildlife, but everything was slaughtered by the land invaders shortly after 2000. Baboons are now the only animals left there. Mwenezi is a very dry area, suitable only for game farming and the villagers say they are now killing the baboons in desperation in order to feed their families. Under normal circumstances, humans would not dream of eating baboon meat but the villagers feel they have no option since their appeals to the government for assistance have fallen on deaf ears.

We would like to congratulate the South Africa Police, National Parks and the Hawks for their sterling efforts in trying to combat the rhino poaching problem in South Africa. In the past few weeks, 26 suspected rhino poachers have been apprehended. Amongst those arrested was a large group of 11 suspects, including well known South African businessman, Dawie Groenewald and his wife, Sariette. The Groenewald’s own "Out of Africa Adventurous Safaris" - an outfit that has frequently been linked to illegal hunting and poaching. The 11 poachers were released on bail pending the court case in April 2011. Dawie Groenewald wasted no time paying his bail of one million rand.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

CONSERVATIVE WAY FORWARD

Sir,

Thank you for your e-mail. It was an interesting evening at the Springbok Club meeting in October, as these always are, i.e. getting to know what really happens. I prefer to keep all political 'stuff' on the computer...this is very wide ranging, right across the spectrum. Inside track from the Cons top brass...individual activists with a worldwide feed in....EU stuff galore....Taxpayers Alliance....Cons Way Forward, you name it! If the hoi polloi saw the political section in-tray each morning they would think that we are definitely in loony land....not just might be!

Although Bert's talk was most enlightening....albeit alarming...I do feel that the Springbok Club are missing their way. His web-site is provocative rather than constructive. Much better that it was dedicated to just reporting facts from BOTH (Black &White) sides of the problem....without over-dramatic pictures which obviously show a bias against the Blacks.....NO GOOD! Using aggressive/abusive language NEVER helps....just tweaks the tiger's tail even harder...and he then turns round and bites you. So change the title to something mild but also creating a 'must read' scenario.....which then gets out there for all to see. Most important bit!

On the basis that members and friends have first-hand knowledge of South Africa (as opposed to media and MP's guessing) I would suggest that the Springbok Club consider 'back-selling' their discontent to advantage. What a press release this would cause. I have stacks of contacts at both national and regional level....political etc.

In simple terms the Springbok Club through all its branches should support the following emanating from the UK and pointed very directly at South Africa....ONLY.

1. Nutrition. Food structures and dietary education.....lobbying and suggestion.....maybe more.

2. Numbers. Birth control....plane loads of condoms etc etc!

3. Farming. Equipment on properly planned and sourced programmes, and delivered/installed right to/on the doorstep of the ultimate users/beneficiaries. This MUST be the rule for all products delivered for whatever....even emergency international calls for aid.

4. General Health. Simple equipment, such as mosquito nets, which do not need to be delivered by an MP from the UK! The 'new' minister for this is Stephen O'Brien who happens to be the MP for my constituency here. However he might be most interested to have the backing and involvement of the Springbok Club. You would have to let him have his head.....but NO unnecessary junketing please! He was over there the other day and is responsible for a Charity that deals with malaria. He was brought up in Kenya...so knows the ropes.

5. Housing improvements. This is a big one, but some helpful lobbying by 'them that know' could be helpful.

6. Sports and Recreation equipment. Particularly aimed at 'youth' 6s/18s. Crayons and paints.....footballs, cricket gear. Musical instruments etc. I started something on these lines in New York for 'needy community youth groups'....it's mentioned in the Constitutional Record of the US. Good quality second-hand and/or new (buy two and give one) equipment is shipped and delivered to source!

7. Exploitation of wild animals....particularly OVER-shooting in situ for absurd fees....and selling of same for export.....this is a lobbying exercise....bringing pressure to bear.

There was talk at the meeting of a 'charity' for Whites....racial....BUT the above big 7 should be linked in with established 'charities' and others....AND COMBINE into one larger organization. This gives the whole initiative TEETH, scale etc. ALL pulling as one team....NOT 'we are better than you', 'we've been going longer etc'. No celebs other than those putting money right into the pot.....and NONE of this money sent to cover a general appeal or individual project. DO NOT SEND cash (this includes a single cent, penny, euro or whatever!!) to power-crazed loonies who immediately convert it into Saville Row suits, Masseratis or a simple transfer to SWITZERLAND!!! This has to stop NOW....and would be a prominent feature in the announcements related to the 'THE NEW SPRINGBOK CLUB'

Please share this with whoever....maybe the whole membership. Their big trump card is that they know the background...BUT bleating into beer, letting bees out of bonnets at 10,000 miles range achieves nothing.

DIRTY TRICKS

In the January edition of the SCN we reported on the most alarming targeted attacks which had been mounted against the Springbok Club and its associates during the previous couple of months, most disturbingly a deranged smear campaign against the editor of the SCN featuring clearly fabricated pornographic photographs.

As we also reported, this most degenerate attack was reported to the Police who took it very seriously, particularly in view of the obvious "hacking" into our computer and the stealing of our address book - which is a criminal offence. The Police have now reported back and have confirmed that the person responsible for concocting these depraved smears has now been positively identified following enquiries made to the ISPs involved, and he turns out to be the person who was initially suspected. Unfortunately, however, it has also been ascertained that the culprit has now left the UK and returned to his native South Africa, so is therefore now outside the jurisdiction of any British Police force. The matter has however been handed over to their South African counterparts via InterPol, so it remains to be seen what action if any they will take (the culprit is believed once more to be working for an agency of the "new" South African government, so it is possible that the ANC regime will seek to "protect" him). One thing is for certain however, and that is that if he ever attempts to re-enter the UK he will be apprehended at the port of entry for questioning, and very possibly arrested. Once again, however, the Police have advised us not to make any comment about the individual(s) involved, an instruction which we will of course adhere to - in spite of the fact that we are itching to name them!

We have furthermore been both touched and humbled by the level of support which we have received from supporters around the world following this most vile and evil attack upon us. Below we list just some of the many messages of solidarity which we have received :-
