It has been very reassuring to receive many supportive responses to our hard-hitting editorial in last month’s SCN, in which we questioned the extent and severity of the current Wuhan Flu epidemic, heavily criticised the draconian “lockdown” measures which had been enforced worldwide to deal with it, and condemned all those supine individuals who had been willing to comply with these tyrannical restrictions without any resistance. To be sure, we did receive a couple of messages opposing the line which we have taken, and two more which were very ambiguous in nature, but on the whole the reaction from our readers has been most encouragingly positive, with several saying that they would re-circulate our comments. It would seem therefore that our supporters possess far more common-sense than the average citizen!
During the last month there have been several further specific developments which have only increased suspicions about the true situation prevailing around the world. Firstly the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was himself admitted to hospital allegedly suffering from the COVID-19 virus (Wuhan Flu). Since then rumours have abounded that he had actually tested negative for COVID-19 and that in reality he had been stricken by another similar flu-like virus which had been around for many years. If true – and even if not – this simply reminds everyone that in the past other nasty infectious viruses have been floating around in the atmosphere without any busybody medicrats previously advocating that the whole of society should be closed down in order to deal with them! We have also of course had the cases of two prominent advocates of the “lockdown” restrictions themselves quite openly flouting them – Dr. Catherine Calderwood and Professor Neil Ferguson. Quite clearly therefore these two leading experts are fully aware that the “lockdown” regulations are unwarranted.
But there is another far more sinister individual sitting on one of the UK Government’s advisory panels. Her name is Susan Michie and she sits on the “COVID-19 Behavioural Science Advisory Group”. Michie is a Health Psychologist at University College London, and has appeared on BBC2’s Newsnight attempting to justify the imposition of the draconian “lockdown” restrictions. But it is not her academic qualifications or pronouncements which concern us however, but the fact that she is a leading member of the Communist Party of Britain! The CPB broke away from the official Communist Party of Great Britain in 1988 in order to advocate more extreme Stalinist policies and to follow a pro-Peking agenda. For an alleged Conservative Government to appoint a person with such vile anti-democratic views to sit on an important scientific advisory panel is surely nothing short of disgusting!
As we emphasised in last month’s editorial, not all medical advisors around the world advocate “lockdown” policies in order to restrict the spread of Wuhan Flu. It is not only Sweden and Belarus who have taken a more sensible position in this regard, but also we hear Cambodia and Nicaragua, with Mongolia abandoning a “lockdown” after a very short period, and several European countries making the restrictions only advisory. It is difficult to compare how the two different approaches have resulted however, as figures from many Western countries are totally unreliable. This is not only because no distinction between those dying with Wuhan Flu and those dying from Wuhan Flu is made, but furthermore because many deaths from other strains of flu-like viruses are also counted in order to “boost numbers” – and indeed we have even received a report of a death from a clear heart attack having “COVID-19” recorded on the death certificate as a contributory cause of death! When total deaths are compared to those in similar periods in previous years are analysed, however, initial results suggest that although the numbers have hardly altered in Sweden and Belorus, they have risen significantly in those countries like the UK where the “lockdown” restrictions have been vigorously enforced. This is not only because of higher suicide, domestic violence and high blood-pressure death rates which we mentioned last month, but also because people with other life-threatening conditions have either been too scared to enter hospital, or because the hospital authorities have only interested in treating those who have tested positive for Wuhan Flu! It would seem therefore that those who have enforced the “lockdown” lunacy have blood on their hands.
So why therefore have so many nations succumbed to all this unjustified panic and over-reaction to the Wuhan Flu epidemic? In authoritarian states ranging from Orbán’s Hungary on the Right to Ramaphosa’s “new” South Africa on the Left it has undoubtedly been in order for them to establish even greater totalitarian control; in the United States it has been because states where the Donkey Party is in power they have wanted to damage President Trump; and in most of the EU it has been because they are frightened to disobey Auntie Angela. In Britain, however, the main reason is clearly quite different – indeed it is openly stated! The aim isn’t to save lives - it is to save the “precious” National Health Service!
Before WW2 Britain had an excellent and efficient health sector based on free-market principles, where independent hospitals and GPs were free to run their own practices with no centralised bureaucratic interference. For the poor and under-privileged who could not afford health services there was a system known as “The Panel” which operated perfectly adequately. This however was not good enough for the Attlee Labour Government which sadly came to power after WW2, who were hell-bent on imposing socialist medicine onto the UK. This was orchestrated by their Minister of Health, the demonic Aneaurin Bevan. Bevan was a hideous character, both physically and ideologically. Initially an ardent socialist and member of the Labour Party, he defected to Sir Oswald Mosley during the early 1930s, before returning to the Labour Party before the start of WW2. He didn’t join the wartime coalition government however, but sat on the tiny opposition benches, and here he delivered one of the most disgraceful speeches made during the war years, when he condemned the National Government (who were then of course fighting a war for national survival) for not doing enough to support the Soviet Union! A decade later, moreover, he made an equally treacherous speech in Trafalgar Square in which he condemned Britain’s action during the Suez Crisis. The NHS which Bevan created soon became notorious for providing free medical treatment to all and sundry upon demand, and as a result acquired the nickname of the “National Hypochondriacs Service”!
Since then the NHS has become something of a secular religion for the Left and others who should know better, and all criticism of it has become verboten. This has never been more apparent than during the current Wuhan Flu epidemic of course, for as we know there have been many quite ludicrous manifestations of support for it. But has all this praise for socialist medicine been justified? When it was initially believed that the NHS didn’t have enough beds where did they look for help – eh, the private sector, When it was realised that they didn’t possess sufficient ventilators who did they approach to manufacture extra supplies – eh, the private sector. When it was then believed that new hospitals had to be established urgently (the “Nightingale Hospitals”, which have actually been barely used) who did they look to to construct them – eh, the private sector. When it was discovered that the NHS had allowed most of the protection equipment for its staff to become out of date without renewing them, who did they approach to replace everything – eh, the private sector. It seems obvious therefore that in spite of the NHS receiving over £140.4 BILLION in taxpayers’ money each year the private sector can still do things far more efficiently than they can - so surely it is therefore time to privatise the lot of it!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
It goes without saying that because of all the continuing “lockdown” nonsense the Springbok Club was again unable to stage any activities last month. The organisation has however managed to obtain four excellent guest speakers for the next few months, once all restrictions have been lifted. We’ve also learnt the splendid news that a member from East Anglia celebrated VE Day by displaying a large REAL South African flag at the front of the house where he was living!

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS
The Patriotic Forum has also of course been unable to stage any events during the last month because of all the “lockdown” lunacy. The planned joint celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the landing of Captain James Cook at Botany Bay and of Empire Day will still be staged IMMEDIATELY that all the draconian “lockdown” restrictions have been lifted however - though we can also report that the Patriotic Forum reminded everyone of the anniversary of Captain Cook’s claiming of Australia for the British crown both by e-mail and via FaceBook, so that all supporters could celebrate this important occasion in their own individual way!. The organisation is also provisionally planning six other activities for the latter part of the year.

MESSAGE FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS
We have recently received this following most sorrowful message from the Network for Animals organisation :-
“When a country suffers, its animals suffer most. We urgently need help to save donkeys in Zimbabwe!
“The country is suffering from the worst drought in 40 years. In some parts of Zimbabwe, it hasn’t rained in over a year. The drought is so bad the UN say two million people could starve to death and is raising hundreds of millions of dollars to help them. Animals aren’t getting that kind of help so it’s up to animal lovers like us to help.
“Donkeys can’t find food on their normal grazing pastures and their owners, who depend on the donkeys to pull transport carts, can’t afford to buy food because prices have sky-rocketed.
“Donkeys are dying daily, and our team saw starving donkeys everywhere.
“We found an emaciated donkey foal who had been abandoned and left to die. He was badly dehydrated and so weak from starvation, he couldn’t walk – and his pulse was fading. We worked as fast as we could. We talked to him while we worked – calling him “Simon” – to keep him conscious. We managed to get him to MARES, a donkey sanctuary that we support financially. We thought he was on the road to recovery but, as we write this – we have just learned that he has passed away.
“We have tears in our eyes. We must save donkeys like Simon. Please, please help us. We desperately need donations to buy hay bales for the donkeys in Zimbabwe to help get them through this drought.
“Network for Animals relies entirely on donations from generous animal lovers like you. People are desperately poor in Zimbabwe, and simply can’t help. We must help!

NEWS OF MARTIN POTTER
Most readers will probably remember Martin Potter, who together with Shaun Tomson was one of South Africa’s top Surfers during the early 1980s, and one of the leading Surfers in the World at the time. Upon prompting from Patrick Kenney, a great supporter of our movement, a keen Surfer himself and one of the most steadfast campaigners against beach integration, we carried a feature on Surfing in S.A.Patriot No.18. This article was accompanied by a picture of Martin Potter, (admittedly rather blurred!) who Patrick greatly admired and evidently knew fairly well. Martin Potter actually wasn’t South African by birth – he was born at Blyth in Northumberland – but his parents had emigrated to South Africa when he was 2 years old and whilst the country still enjoyed civilised rule. His mother however saw the writing on the wall for civilised South Africa before most of us however, and decided that in order to safeguard Martin’s Surfing career the family must return to the UK, settling at the Cornish Surfing paradise of Newquay. Alas little more was heard of Martin Potter after this move, but we’ve recently learnt that he is now a leading commentator on the sport for the World Surfing League World Tour, and is now based in Victoria, Australia. It was good to learn that Martin is still heavily involved with Surfing therefore, and we wish him and his family every success for the future.

AUSTRALIA REMEMBERS
Reg Watson from Tasmania, Australia, has recently forwarded us a copy of the following extremely well-researched and historically fascinating article which he’s written in order to mark the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook’s landing at Botany Bay :-
“April 26th this year will be the 250th anniversary of the first voyage of James Cook and the first European discovery of the eastern coast of Australia then known at New Holland.
“On the 26th August 1768, one of the world’s greatest explorers, James Cook, left Plymouth England on the bark, The Endeavour, of 370 tons, originally called The Earl of Pembroke. Then a lieutenant (commissioned by King George III) and not captain, this Yorkshireman of forty years of age was ordered to sail to Tahiti where the transit of Venus was observed the 3rd June 1769. It was hoped that by doing so, the distance could be worked out between the sun and the earth. Navigation depended on astronomy, so besides being a voyage of exploration it was also a scientific one. On board with Cook were some notable people, such as astronomer, Charles Green, two well-known naturalists, Swedish Dr Daniel Carl Solander and 25 year old Joseph Banks together with assistants and artist John Reynolds and artist and naturalist Herman Sporing. There were also a crew of 71 and 12 marines, making a total of 93 men.
“Cook was also innovative in that he took measures to prevent scurvy (lack of vitamin C) in his men, making sure they ate fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, pickled cabbage and vinegar where ever possible. He looked after the men’s clothing, so they would have dry and warm things to wear in the cold latitudes. He also took musical instruments, books and fishing lines for the men to use in their time off.
“Opening his sealed orders after the transit, he was told to explore the existence of any great land south of Tahiti to latitude 40. Leaving the south Pacific island he took a chief with him named Tupaia. Not finding any great south land he sailed for New Zealand. There he met the local natives, which was a peaceful encounter, leaving on the 1st March 1770 after five months sailing around the two islands. He then had to make a decision to return directly to England via Cape Horn or to go home via the Cape of Good Hope. So, on 1st April 1770 the Endeavour sailed westward towards Van Diemen’s Land. On the 20th April, second-in-command, Lieutenant Zachary Hicks sighted land which was on the north-east coast of Victoria. Cook named it Point Hicks. Nine days later, 29th April, following the coast, he anchored for the first time in Australian waters at a spot now known as Kurnell, a site on Botany Bay. Cook ordered his wife’s cousin Isaac Smith to ‘jump ou’” and set foot on land. Therefore Able Seaman Smith was the first recorded Englishman to set foot on Australian soil. The following day, in the afternoon, Cook, Banks, Solander and Tupaia landed. Here they met some aborigines and a minor altercation occurred, but efforts of friendship were fruitful. They stayed for a week. During this time, Seaman Forby Sutherland died of illness on the 2nd May and became the first European known to die on the shore. Sutherland District takes his name. Also one sailor deserted and what became of him no one knows.
“There are numerous memorials to the landing, sometimes confusion with the date. This is because Cook’s log dates are a day behind calendar dates. After leaving, further exploration and landings occurred. Port Jackson, Port Stephens, Cape Hawke, Moreton Bay, Cape Townhend, the Barrier Reef, Magnetic Land, Whitsunday Passage and many other points and localities were named. Off the coast of Queensland the Endeavour struck a reef and after 23 hours on the rocks, Cook succeeded in heaving her off into deep waters. He did this by throwing overboard guns, ballast, casks, decayed stores, in an effort to lift the ship off the coral on the next high tide. Initially he was unsuccessful; finally in a higher tide the Endeavour was free and floating. In his journal he gave the overall name of “New South Wales.” He then sailed through the strait between Australia and New Guinea and landed at Batavia, where a number of his companions and crew died from malaria. Finally Cook returned to England where he became the hero of the day.
“So what are we doing to celebrate and highlight this remarkable man and his most important historical voyage to our land? Very little I am afraid, whereas New Zealand is planning substantial events. Here we are bereft of leadership on the issue. The replica of the Endeavour will be sailing around Australia for the anniversary, but in actual fact, it only sailed the eastern coast. There will be a number of exhibitions. How can such a powerful event be down-played by the nation? One can only shake one’s head for lack of fibre.
“Cook, as we should all know, had two more voyages and after the second voyage he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society. He died 14th February 1779 while in Hawaii on his third voyage.
“How do we sum up Cook? His meticulous maps of his discoveries and his humanitarian treatment of both his crew and the people he came in contact with have given him a heroic reputation which has lasted for centuries.”

Although Willmer was a complete rogue who did great harm to the patriotic movement in Southern Africa during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and although he is long since dead and therefore has no current relevance, this article even so makes enthralling reading, and acts as a warning about the modus operandi of similar such political charlatans who might be around today. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
NOT SO MAD
Sir,
I never had the privilege of meeting “Mad Mike” Hoare, but have known people who did. "Mad Mike” was in real life eminently charming, intelligent, cultured, well-adjusted and a brilliant commander.
After an adventurous life serving in the British Army and organizing safaris, he first of all fought for Tshombe in the Western-betrayed secession of Katanga. Then, in 1964, he was summoned back to the Congo to spend a total of eighteen months founding and leading Five Commando-and seeing off the drug and blood-crazed Simbas, saving the Congo from Communism and barbarism.
Unfortunately in 1974 his offer to lead a force of between 1,500 and 2,000 men against Frelimo when the Portuguese collapsed in Mozambique was refuted by the appeasers running South African foreign policy at the time. While he was technical adviser on the film "The Wild Geese" I doubt if the Colonel was really based on him - Colonel Faulkner was a drunk; Colonel Hoare wrote that "Nobody will follow a booze artist - except possibly into a pub!"
As for the Seychelles - I wish he'd succeeded. Given proper backing he would have, and his treatment in prison by a vindictive government was far worse than Mandela's!
Politically he was against apartheid, against Communism, and for a better deal for the Blacks without handing over the country to them. South Africa could have done worse than make him President - and did!

FRAUDER-LOST
Sir,
Mr Jacob Rees-Mogg was pictured sitting next to Gregory Lauder-Frost at a dinner several years ago, after accepting an invite from the “Traditional Britain Group”. Confronted about the event, Mr Rees-Mogg admitted he had been tipped off about Lauder-Frost's views, but claimed Tory HQ had failed to corroborate the warning.
Rees-Mogg insisted he 'deeply regrets' attending a dinner party with such a far-right activist after being warned of his views. The Tory darling said he found the views of Gregory Lauder-Frost 'disgusting' and would never have gone had he been fully aware of them.
Gregory MacLennan Scholey Lauder-Frost (born Gregory Frost in August 1951) is an Australian-born convicted criminal and formerly associated with the right-most fringes of the Conservative Party. He is founder and vice-chairman of the “Traditional Britain Group” and is UK head of the far-right book publisher Arktos, seen as the publishing wing of the “alt-right” movement. Self-styled 'GLF' (an abbreviation of his initials), his opponents have been known to parody him as 'TPF' ('tonsured pleb frost') or 'Frauder-Lost'.

FRIENDS OF RHODESIA
Sir,
Many years ago I was involved in a campaign here in Tasmania to help a better awareness of Rhodesia and to off-set the madness of hate against the country. Later I was a medical reporter and met, interviewed and became friends with two gentlemen, one now dead, who though Welsh went to Rhodesia and set up within one of the districts the first blood-transfusion service. The other, a micro-biologist, was an ex-major in the South African Army, who led the campaign here in Tasmania to rid the State of hidatis. Not sure whether he, Dr Gold Smidt, is still around.

ACTS OF DEFIANCE
Sir,
Many thanks for the very informative e-mails and all of the hard work you devote to it. I have had my doubts re this pandemic since the very beginning, but it is going to be very difficult ever to get to the real cause. A good and brave action would be for the world to wipe off their debts to China; they cannot, or would not want to argue with the rest of the world’s trading - but who would have the courage?
All this however should be a salutary lesson that we have to become a nation of producers, not consumers, which we should be, especially with the exponential rise of technology and AI making the need for imported cheap labour redundant. This in itself will bring problems from the bleeding-heart liberals re immigration and surplus labour, as our current population is approaching 70 million, 90% of which are a cost to the country.
My tiny contribution is that I never deal with companies that do not have their call centres in the UK, which would create much needed work, plus the spin off spending. Perhaps this is something we could all become involved with?

OBITUARY
SIR STIRLING MOSS
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Sir Stirling Moss, aged 90. Stirling Moss had been born in West London in1929, the son of a wealthy Yorkshire dentist and a mother who was a descendent of one of the Duke of Wellington’s leading army officers during the Napoleonic Wars. He was educated at Haileybury and Imperial Service College, but did not prove academically brilliant – not because of any lack of intelligence but because of pure disinterest. His main interest at school was sport, at which he excelled in all disciplines, especially Rugby.
After school, however, like his sister Pat, his sporting interests turned to the main pursuits of his parents – show jumping and motor racing. Although his sister continued a successful career in both sports, Stirling himself soon concentrated purely on motor racing. He had started driving an Austin 7 aged only 7, driving around an orchard owned by his father. He obtained a driving licence at the earliest age possible and immediately put down a deposit on his first racing car, a Cooper F3. His breakthrough came in 1950 however, when he won the Ulster TT in dreadfully wet conditions driving a Jaguar Sports Car. After that he had a wide choice of F1 teams eager to sign him up!
In all he drove in 530 races during his career, winning an incredibly high number of 212 of them. 16 of his victories were in F1 races, but surprisingly he never won the F1 World Championship, which he competed in from 1951 until his near-fatal crash in 1962. It has been calculated, however, that if the F1 World Championship had used the same scoring system in his day as it uses today then he would have been World Champion on four occasions! Perhaps his greatest achievement, however was winning the Mille Miglia race in Italy in 1955 in the fastest time ever recorded. (The Mille Miglia was a 1000 mile race around public roads in Italy in a “Tour de France type style”, which was discontinued after 1957 following demands from the Vatican that it be stopped on safety grounds).
But Sir Stirling Moss was not only a great motor racer, he was also – like so many others involved in motor sport in his day – a great patriot. He always tried to race in British cars whenever possible, and lived for most of his adult life in a personally designed house in Mayfair, London, rather than becoming a tax-exile in Monte Carlo like so many later F1 drivers decided to do. He also had no qualms about competing in South Africa during the days of civilised rule in that country, in spite of pressures from Left-wing extremists which alas many other sportsmen of the era succumbed to. Unfortunately, however, again like so many other patriotic motor racers of his time, his patriotism didn’t find form in any more direct political activities – but he was determined that his triumphs should not only reflect on himself personally, but also brought prestige to the country of his birth and ancestry.
Sir Stirling was nicknamed “The Boy” during the early part of his career, but this epithet was actually appropriate throughout his life, for he never lost his youthful enthusiasm. He also clearly believed in Nietzsche’s great injunction to “Live dangerously”, as he often stated that he thought there was no point in living if there wasn’t the spice of danger. He never competed professionally again after his serious crash of 1962 at Goodwood, but he maintained close involvement in motor sports for the rest of his life, giving advice and expertise to budding drivers and manufacturers alike. He was knighted in 2000, an accolade which many thought was long overdue. Always an incurable ladies man, he was married three times, and had a daughter and a son. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to his surviving wife and to his children.

Over the past month the entire world seems to have gone mad. The emergence of a new strain of virus in Wuhan, China, towards the end of last year, known alternatively as Coronavirus, COVID-19 and Wuhan Flu (though we will only use the latter more colloquial term from now onwards) has caused irrational panic and total over-reactions amongst most of the world’s governing authorities.
We must spell out some basic indisputable facts. Viruses have been with us and have regularly mutated ever since life on earth began, and death, although always very sad, is also something which has always been with us and which cannot be prevented. The extent and severity of the current Wuhan Flu outbreak has however been greatly exaggerated. It is apparently not as virulent as previous epidemics caused by the mutation of flu viruses such as the Swine Flu epidemic of 2009/10 and the Asian Flu epidemic of 1957/58 - let alone the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918/19! Furthermore the "lockdown" restrictions which have been put in place around the world are clearly way over the top, and because they restrict our fundamental rights of freedom of movement and freedom of association must therefore be regarded as highly suspicious. If such extreme measures were not considered necessary during earlier epidemics of flu virus mutations such as those mentioned above then why are they considered necessary now? This is a basic question which simply hasn’t been answered by any of the pro-socialist-medicine fanatics who have advocated and imposed the draconian “lockdown” measures.
But not all medical experts and scientists are in agreement that Wuhan Flu is so dangerous that it warrants the tyrannical “lockdown” restrictions. The human body is a remarkable organism and manages to produce anti-bodies which attack and eliminate virus threats. The alternative solution advocated to counteract the current or any viral epidemic is known as Herd Immunity. Put simply this means allowing the virus to spread naturally among the population, but is then rapidly attacked by human anti-bodies and mutated out of existence. To be sure, this involves the deaths of some of the more vulnerable members of society who contract the virus whilst still virulent, but such deaths are also resulting from the alternative “lockdown” solution - if official figures are to be believed! Herd Immunity was always the method used to overcome viral epidemics in the past, so why not now? It is also the method that has been chosen with greater effect by medical authorities in both Sweden and Belarus - and as one is an ultra-liberal society and the other an extremely authoritarian state they therefore can't be in cahoots!
We must also take a close look at the death figures being banded about around the world in order to justify the dictatorial “lockdown” measures. In the Lombardy region of Italy (how odd that the current epidemic never seemed to spread extensively outside this region?) it was stated that 98.8% (in other words almost 100%) of those admitted to hospital with Wuhan Flu either had pre-existing respiratory problems or were over 80, and two-thirds of the initial intake into British hospitals with the virus were said to have been given nine months or less to live in any case! It has also been significant to note that the majority of those named to have died from the virus in the UK seem to have been immigrants - particularly from South Asia, an area of the world of course notorious for its poor personal hygiene standards. The question must be asked therefore how many of those who it was claimed died of Wuhan Flu actually more accurately should have been described as having died with Wuhan Flu – if indeed they had been correctly diagnosed with the virus at all! It will be very interesting to note how the total number of deaths from natural causes during the period of the epidemic compares to numbers from the same period in other years. Early anecdotal figures from Lombardy indicate that the difference is very small.
Our main objection to the draconian "lockdown" restrictions, however, is that as President Trump accurately stated, “the ‘cure’ is far worse than the disease” – our only difference to this statement by President Trump is that we would insert the word “infinitely” between “is” and “far”! Financial worries have always been the main causes of suicides, and there have already been reports of escalating suicide rates around the world - as well as cases of domestic violence and child abuse through families being cooped up for so long together. There have also been reports of far higher rates of death through high blood-pressure as a result of increasing anxiety - and many observations of bad driving have been reported, which we suspect may be mainly due to so much anger about the unpopular "lockdown" and fear of police-state arrests simply for motoring.
But it is the long-term economic devastation which will prove the biggest disaster to result from the lunatic “lockdown” restrictions. Already billions of Pounds/Dollars/Euros have been promised around the globe in order to compensate companies and individuals ruined by the imposition of these unjustified regulations. As Theresa May accurately stated a couple of years ago “there is no magic money tree”, so these promises can therefore only be fulfilled by taking out massive loans – and loans have to be repaid! Taxes will therefore have to be raised dramatically and vital services drastically cut back – and not only during the immediate future but for generations to come. Our children’s and our grandchildren’s generations are therefore going to have to suffer great deprivation simply because some Medicrat fanatics had the bright idea of closing down the whole of society for a few weeks – or even worse, God forbid, for a few months! Even if we are to accept that the Wuhan Flu virus is as severe and as extensive as some pro-socialist-medicine bureaucrats suggest, and even if we are to accept that the draconian “lockdown” measures are the only way to deal with it, is trying to prevent the earlier-than-expected deaths of tens of thousands of people today really worth the well-being of tens of millions of people, not only today but for generations to come?
We are not conspiracy theorists, and always reject the wackier conspiracy theories such as those advanced by the certifiable David Icke with the contempt which they deserve, but there is quite clearly something very suspicious – indeed very sinister - going on here. For those who doubt our analysis of the situation and the conclusions which we have drawn we suggest that they read just a few of the multitude of postings which we have received on this subject over the past few weeks. There is however another aspect to the Wuhan Flu epidemic which we regard as even more worrying and concerning than the over-the-top actions of the authorities themselves, and that is the tame and sheep-like manner in which so much of the populations of the world have accepted the draconian restrictions placed on them without question – dutifully not leaving their houses except for prescribed reasons, and ludicrously standing two metres (why always the metric measurement we wonder, why not six feet?) apart from their fellow human-beings. One cannot help wondering therefore whether the real reason for the whole international exercise was to see just how compliantly the sheep would behave? Most sickening of all, however, has been the rise of “little Hitlers” in pharmacies, supermarkets and Post Offices who with a little bit of unqualified authority given to them tell their fellow citizens to stand behind arbitrary lines and castigate them for going out to post letters which they do not believe are necessary. These jumped-up little nincompoops should remember that at the Nuremberg trials it was ruled that acting on orders to enforce bad laws was no defence!
Quite clearly a lot of people are going to have a lot of things to answer for once all this nonsense is over. In the meantime we call for a coordinated worldwide resistance campaign to oppose all these ridiculous “lockdown” regulations – and for a person of eminence and global respect to emerge who will be brave enough to say to the faces of all the Medicrat fanatics advocating these unsubstantiated restrictions: “THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES”!

As soon as everything is back to normal this meeting will of course be immediately re-scheduled. The Springbok Club is also pleased to announce that two other prominent personalities have agreed to speak for the organisation before the end of the year.

WHAT DID VAN NIEKERK DO?
Grant van Niekerk, the Coloured South African jockey who has been riding in Hong Kong for the past two seasons, was suddenly sacked by the Hong Kong Jockey Club earlier this month, and had his licence withdrawn. He was “sacked” – not “warned off” – and the HKJC went to great lengths to emphasise that the “decision was as a result of a conduct-related matter which does not pertain to any race riding or other racing integrity-related matter”. We wonder therefore if anyone knows what van Niekerk did which caused this extreme and sudden action?

PORTILLO LETS CAT OUT OF THE BAG
In an otherwise excellent episode about Hong Kong from his latest BBC series Great Asian Railway Journeys, Michael Portillo stated in an off-guarded moment that both he (whilst still Secretary of State for Defence) and Chris Patten (the last British Governor of Hong Kong before the sell-out to Communist China) agreed that Britain’s possession of a colony at the end of the 20th century was an “anachronism”. To express such unpatriotic sentiments whilst both men held such top government positions was of course disgusting – particularly as the result of these appalling sentiments in this specific case meant the complete sell-out of the Hong Kong people to CCP oppression, a terrible fate which has become ever more obvious over recent months.
Chris Patten was always regarded as a very liberal member of the Conservative Party , and was highly unpopular therein as a result, so perhaps nothing better could have been expected from him. Michael Portillo, on the other hand, was initially regarded as being well to the Right of the Party, although many had their doubts about his true position. Maybe these doubts were very well-founded therefore, particularly as he has expressed several other Left-leaning comments during his otherwise brilliant Great Railway Journeys programmes. Michael Portillo has proved a superb broadcaster, so perhaps this should have been his chosen profession right from the start, rather than his ill-judged venture into Conservative politics.

No.257 - Professor DAVID MARSLAND of Buckingham.
David Marsland held leading academic positions at both Brunel University and the University of Buckingham, at the latter being Professor of Sociology. He was also an acclaimed geo-political commentator and produced many influential papers on current world affairs. He became a good friend of our movement when it became clear how close he was to us ideologically, and he was guest speaker at several Springbok Club and Swinton Circle meetings. Alas recent correspondence which we’ve sent to his University of Buckingham address have been returned as he’s evidently retired from his academic positions there, and attempts to contact him via his last known e-mail address have not been successful. We would therefore be most grateful if anyone could let us know how he can now be contacted.

Jan Adriaan apparently had very similar experiences of Gordon “The Gherkin” Parkin to me. [see March 2020 SCN – Ed.]. I recall him once promising to take me to a National Forum meeting when my car was in for repair, but he never turned up, and his attitude when I complained to him on next meeting can only be described as cavalier. Then there was the occasion when we were holding a fireworks display and knowing that he had two young daughters gave him an invite to join us, but when he never turned up and I phoned him up his wife told me that he had gone to play football and she knew nothing about the invitation! He’s the most unreliable person who I’ve ever known. How on earth did his plumbing business survive?

He was never a person of any peerage background in the UK, but a scallywag criminal, convicted and jailed in the UK of a working background in Australia. He is not British or near it. Mr. Frost has misled the UK public for decades to his real life story with his fake UK accent of upper class tones. One could say he is an imposter who got the unsuspecting Mr. Rees-Mogg to dinner so he could talk pure manure to Mr. Rees-Mogg in 2013. We are not the Left-wing of UK but strongly protest to imposters and lost fraudsters who have wandered onto our shores. Foreign criminals should always be deported Mr. Frost.

If Israel Folau is right, Hell is going to be a very crowded place. I also believe that his extreme religious views have nothing to do with his ability or eligibility to play rugby. It was wrong to ban Muhammad Ali from boxing for refusing the draft, wrong to hound South African sportsmen because of apartheid, wrong to bar a Greek triple jumper from the 2012 Olympics for supporting Golden Dawn, and all sports boycotts should be rejected unless a rival event of similar stature can be organised. Let us keep politics and everything else out of sport.

I thought you were altogether far too kind to Allan Robertson in the obituary which you carried to him last month. All the “good work” which he may have done in the early part of his political life surely amounted to nothing in the light of the manner in which he betrayed his former friends and attempted to takeover the Swinton Circle and turn it into a neo-fascist front-organisation in 2008, and then lived “in denial” refusing to accept that he had been constitutionally expelled and causing so many untold difficulties and embarrassments to the authentic Swinton Circle by establishing his fake London Swinton Circle in attempted rivalry after that.
Robertson was simply a coward who was too weak to stand up to the neo-fascist infiltrators. He isn’t even worthy to be remembered, let alone praised in the manner that you accorded him.

OBITUARY
THOMAS MICHAEL BERNARD “MAD MIKE” HOARE
Thomas Michael Bernard Hoare – better known to the world as “Mad Mike” Hoare, or more colloquially as “Mad Mike Prostitute” - was a larger-than-life character best known for his mercenary activities in Africa, who sadly died last February aged 100 exactly. He was born at Calcutta, India, in 1919 to an Anglo-Irish family, but moved with his family to Ireland whilst only a few years old. With the granting of independence to the 26 southern counties of Ireland his parents, who were staunch Unionists and British loyalists, decided to move to the mainland. Although a bright child he was not overtly academically brilliant, and he never attempted to enter university, preferring instead to train to become an accountant.
At the outbreak of WWII he immediately volunteered to join the Territorial Army, but as soon as it was possible he enlisted in the Regular Army – in the ranks – joining the London Irish Rifles. He soon started studying to pass officer entry exams, and was quickly successful, and then starting as a 2nd Lieutenant eventually rose to the rank of Colonel. He was transferred to the Royal Ulster Rifles, where he fought against the Japanese both on the Indian border and in Burma. After WWII he emigrated to South Africa, settling in Durban, and started his own accountancy practice, whilst also dabblng in a number of other businesses – but urban life was not for him and so in 1953 he established his own tourism and safari company which enabled him to travel extensively throughout Africa. From then onwards he lived according to Nietzsche’s great dictum “live dangerously” – and as he lived to be 100 this certainly didn’t appear to be a bad maxim to follow!
In 1961 during his African travels he met Moise Tshombe, then a budding Congolese politician who, dismayed by the chaotic situation in the country caused by Belgium’s over-hasty abdication of power, was advocating an independence breakaway by his native province of Katanga. “Mad Mike” accepted Tshombe’s request to establish a mercenary army to assist with the establishment of an independent Katanga, and quickly managed to gather together a contingent of WWII-veteran colleagues from Durban, including several who subsequently supported our movement in the city some 20 or so years later, notably Tom Hawkins and Gerry Colenbrander, as well as Jerry Puren and Peter Duffy. The expedition to Katanga was initially a well-executed military success, but alas massive UN intervention forced Katanga to surrender and re-integrate into the Congolese state. Tshombe’s talents soon propelled him to prominence in central Congolese politics however, and once he had become President he quickly re-established his relationship with “Mad Mike” and hired him and his mercenaries to defeat and destroy the pro-Communist rebels in the east of the country. This proved to be an even greater military success for “Mad Mike”, with the rebels being rapidly annihilated in both Albertville and Stanleyville. It was at this time that “Mad Mike” made his famous comment about killing Communists being like killing vermin – with killing African Nationalists being not far short of this!
After the Congo operation had been concluded “Mad Mike” returned to anonymity as a semi-recluse in Durban – but all this was to change in 1981. He emerged as the mercenary leader of the ill-fated Ancient Order of Froth-Blowers Seychelles Coup attempt - which as well as including Jerry Puren and Peter Duffy again also contained our good friends Ken Dalglish and Mike Webb. After being accidently rumbled by Seychelles security staff the mercenaries hi-jacked a stop-over Air India jet and forced it to fly to Durban. Here they were all promptly arrested, but as the South African NP-government didn’t want to risk handing them over to any international authorities they were all tried in South Africa instead. All were found guilty and sentenced to lengthy terms of imprisonment in Pretoria Central Jail, with “Mad Mike” himself receiving a 20-year sentence – though he was subsequently released after serving only 33 months. This present writer met “Mad Mike” – a surprisingly short man in stature - when he addressed a meeting of The Circle Club in Durban during 1987, whereat he began his speech by quite openly stating “I received a ‘phone call from the State President’s Office who asked if I would lead an operation to overthrow the Seychelles Government” [these may not have been his exact words, but this was certainly the gist of what he said!]. It proved a captivating and highly informative speech, only ruined somewhat by describing the habits of some of the Black prisoners at Pretoria Central in somewhat over-graphic details!
In 1989 he relocated to France (he was a fluent French-speaker) and most surprisingly, given that he was brought up in the Church of Ireland, converted to Roman Catholicism. His devotion to this faith proved strong, and although by then a quite elderly man he completed a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela by walking the entire length of northern Spain. In 2009 he unexpectedly returned to the by then ANC-ruled South Africa to live on the Bluff in Durban, a most strange thing to do given that he had earlier compared killing Communists to killing vermin! Our sincere condolences are extended to all of his five remaining children.

Over the past month the entire world seems to have gone mad. The emergence of a new strain of virus in Wuhan, China, towards the end of last year, known alternatively as Coronavirus, COVID-19 and Wuhan Flu (though we will only use the latter more colloquial term from now onwards) has caused irrational panic and total over-reactions amongst most of the world’s governing authorities.
We must spell out some basic indisputable facts. Viruses have been with us and have regularly mutated ever since life on earth began, and death, although always very sad, is also something which has always been with us and which cannot be prevented. The extent and severity of the current Wuhan Flu outbreak has however been greatly exaggerated. It is apparently not as virulent as previous epidemics caused by the mutation of flu viruses such as the Swine Flu epidemic of 2009/10 and the Asian Flu epidemic of 1957/58 - let alone the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918/19! Furthermore the "lockdown" restrictions which have been put in place around the world are clearly way over the top, and because they restrict our fundamental rights of freedom of movement and freedom of association must therefore be regarded as highly suspicious. If such extreme measures were not considered necessary during earlier epidemics of flu virus mutations such as those mentioned above then why are they considered necessary now? This is a basic question which simply hasn’t been answered by any of the pro-socialist-medicine fanatics who have advocated and imposed the draconian “lockdown” measures.
But not all medical experts and scientists are in agreement that Wuhan Flu is so dangerous that it warrants the tyrannical “lockdown” restrictions. The human body is a remarkable organism and manages to produce anti-bodies which attack and eliminate virus threats. The alternative solution advocated to counteract the current or any viral epidemic is known as Herd Immunity. Put simply this means allowing the virus to spread naturally among the population, but is then rapidly attacked by human anti-bodies and mutated out of existence. To be sure, this involves the deaths of some of the more vulnerable members of society who contract the virus whilst still virulent, but such deaths are also resulting from the alternative “lockdown” solution - if official figures are to be believed! Herd Immunity was always the method used to overcome viral epidemics in the past, so why not now? It is also the method that has been chosen with greater effect by medical authorities in both Sweden and Belarus - and as one is an ultra-liberal society and the other an extremely authoritarian state they therefore can't be in cahoots!
We must also take a close look at the death figures being banded about around the world in order to justify the dictatorial “lockdown” measures. In the Lombardy region of Italy (how odd that the current epidemic never seemed to spread extensively outside this region?) it was stated that 98.8% (in other words almost 100%) of those admitted to hospital with Wuhan Flu either had pre-existing respiratory problems or were over 80, and two-thirds of the initial intake into British hospitals with the virus were said to have been given nine months or less to live in any case! It has also been significant to note that the majority of those named to have died from the virus in the UK seem to have been immigrants - particularly from South Asia, an area of the world of course notorious for its poor personal hygiene standards. The question must be asked therefore how many of those who it was claimed died of Wuhan Flu actually more accurately should have been described as having died with Wuhan Flu – if indeed they had been correctly diagnosed with the virus at all! It will be very interesting to note how the total number of deaths from natural causes during the period of the epidemic compares to numbers from the same period in other years. Early anecdotal figures from Lombardy indicate that the difference is very small.
Our main objection to the draconian "lockdown" restrictions, however, is that as President Trump accurately stated, “the ‘cure’ is far worse than the disease” – our only difference to this statement by President Trump is that we would insert the word “infinitely” between “is” and “far”! Financial worries have always been the main causes of suicides, and there have already been reports of escalating suicide rates around the world - as well as cases of domestic violence and child abuse through families being cooped up for so long together. There have also been reports of far higher rates of death through high blood-pressure as a result of increasing anxiety - and many observations of bad driving have been reported, which we suspect may be mainly due to so much anger about the unpopular "lockdown" and fear of police-state arrests simply for motoring.
But it is the long-term economic devastation which will prove the biggest disaster to result from the lunatic “lockdown” restrictions. Already billions of Pounds/Dollars/Euros have been promised around the globe in order to compensate companies and individuals ruined by the imposition of these unjustified regulations. As Theresa May accurately stated a couple of years ago “there is no magic money tree”, so these promises can therefore only be fulfilled by taking out massive loans – and loans have to be repaid! Taxes will therefore have to be raised dramatically and vital services drastically cut back – and not only during the immediate future but for generations to come. Our children’s and our grandchildren’s generations are therefore going to have to suffer great deprivation simply because some Medicrat fanatics had the bright idea of closing down the whole of society for a few weeks – or even worse, God forbid, for a few months! Even if we are to accept that the Wuhan Flu virus is as severe and as extensive as some pro-socialist-medicine bureaucrats suggest, and even if we are to accept that the draconian “lockdown” measures are the only way to deal with it, is trying to prevent the earlier-than-expected deaths of tens of thousands of people today really worth the well-being of tens of millions of people, not only today but for generations to come?
We are not conspiracy theorists, and always reject the wackier conspiracy theories such as those advanced by the certifiable David Icke with the contempt which they deserve, but there is quite clearly something very suspicious – indeed very sinister - going on here. For those who doubt our analysis of the situation and the conclusions which we have drawn we suggest that they read just a few of the multitude of postings which we have received on this subject over the past few weeks. There is however another aspect to the Wuhan Flu epidemic which we regard as even more worrying and concerning than the over-the-top actions of the authorities themselves, and that is the tame and sheep-like manner in which so much of the populations of the world have accepted the draconian restrictions placed on them without question – dutifully not leaving their houses except for prescribed reasons, and ludicrously standing two metres (why always the metric measurement we wonder, why not six feet?) apart from their fellow human-beings. One cannot help wondering therefore whether the real reason for the whole international exercise was to see just how compliantly the sheep would behave? Most sickening of all, however, has been the rise of “little Hitlers” in pharmacies, supermarkets and Post Offices who with a little bit of unqualified authority given to them tell their fellow citizens to stand behind arbitrary lines and castigate them for going out to post letters which they do not believe are necessary. These jumped-up little nincompoops should remember that at the Nuremberg trials it was ruled that acting on orders to enforce bad laws was no defence!
Quite clearly a lot of people are going to have a lot of things to answer for once all this nonsense is over. In the meantime we call for a coordinated worldwide resistance campaign to oppose all these ridiculous “lockdown” regulations – and for a person of eminence and global respect to emerge who will be brave enough to say to the faces of all the Medicrat fanatics advocating these unsubstantiated restrictions: “THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES”!

”Luckily the break in the perimeter fence was noticed timeously and reparations can start immediately. Although incidents like these are not uncommon or isolated, reparations require substantial fencing material, which we do not always have on hand.

WHAT DID VAN NIEKERK DO?
Grant van Niekerk, the Coloured South African jockey who has been riding in Hong Kong for the past two seasons, was suddenly sacked by the Hong Kong Jockey Club earlier this month, and had his licence withdrawn. He was “sacked” – not “warned off” – and the HKJC went to great lengths to emphasise that the “decision was as a result of a conduct-related matter which does not pertain to any race riding or other racing integrity-related matter”. We wonder therefore if anyone knows what van Niekerk did which caused this extreme and sudden action?

ENCOURAGING NEWS FROM ISRAEL
We have recently received the following most encouraging report about Israeli/British friendship and co-operation from the We Believe in Israel organisation. It should never be forgotten of course that during the days of civilised rule the State of Israel was one of South Africa’s best overseas friends, and that de Klerk’s sell-out to the anti-Semite Mandela and his ANC terrorists hurt Israel more than any other country :-

PORTILLO LETS CAT OUT OF THE BAG
In an otherwise excellent episode about Hong Kong from his latest BBC series Great Asian Railway Journeys, Michael Portillo stated in an off-guarded moment that both he (whilst still Secretary of State for Defence) and Chris Patten (the last British Governor of Hong Kong before the sell-out to Communist China) agreed that Britain’s possession of a colony at the end of the 20th century was an “anachronism”. To express such unpatriotic sentiments whilst both men held such top government positions was of course disgusting – particularly as the result of these appalling sentiments in this specific case meant the complete sell-out of the Hong Kong people to CCP oppression, a terrible fate which has become ever more obvious over recent months.
Chris Patten was always regarded as a very liberal member of the Conservative Party , and was highly unpopular therein as a result, so perhaps nothing better could have been expected from him. Michael Portillo, on the other hand, was initially regarded as being well to the Right of the Party, although many had their doubts about his true position. Maybe these doubts were very well-founded therefore, particularly as he has expressed several other Left-leaning comments during his otherwise brilliant Great Railway Journeys programmes. Michael Portillo has proved a superb broadcaster, so perhaps this should have been his chosen profession right from the start, rather than his ill-judged venture into Conservative politics.

No.257 - Professor DAVID MARSLAND of Buckingham.
David Marsland held leading academic positions at both Brunel University and the University of Buckingham, at the latter being Professor of Sociology. He was also an acclaimed geo-political commentator and produced many influential papers on current world affairs. He became a good friend of our movement when it became clear how close he was to us ideologically, and he was guest speaker at several Springbok Club and Swinton Circle meetings. Alas recent correspondence which we’ve sent to his University of Buckingham address have been returned as he’s evidently retired from his academic positions there, and attempts to contact him via his last known e-mail address have not been successful. Jan Adriaan apparently had very similar experiences of Gordon “The Gherkin” Parkin to me. [see March 2020 SCN – Ed.]. I recall him once promising to take me to a National Forum meeting when my car was in for repair, but he never turned up, and his attitude when I complained to him on next meeting can only be described as cavalier. Then there was the occasion when we were holding a fireworks display and knowing that he had two young daughters gave him an invite to join us, but when he never turned up and I phoned him up his wife told me that he had gone to play football and she knew nothing about the invitation! He’s the most unreliable person who I’ve ever known. How on earth did his plumbing business survive?

To add to the real story of the thieving convicted jail-bird Mr. Frost, his parents were not UK ex-pats as he says, but his Mum was a born American citizen and his Father an Australian by many generations. He was never a person of any peerage background in the UK, but a scallywag criminal, convicted and jailed in the UK of a working background in Australia. He is not British or near it. Mr. Frost has misled the UK public for decades to his real life story with his fake UK accent of upper class tones. One could say he is an imposter who got the unsuspecting Mr. Rees-Mogg to dinner so he could talk pure manure to Mr. Rees-Mogg in 2013. We are not the Left-wing of UK but strongly protest to imposters and lost fraudsters who have wandered onto our shores. Foreign criminals should always be deported Mr. Frost.

If Israel Folau is right, Hell is going to be a very crowded place. I also believe that his extreme religious views have nothing to do with his ability or eligibility to play rugby. It was wrong to ban Muhammad Ali from boxing for refusing the draft, wrong to hound South African sportsmen because of apartheid, wrong to bar a Greek triple jumper from the 2012 Olympics for supporting Golden Dawn, and all sports boycotts should be rejected unless a rival event of similar stature can be organised. Let us keep politics and everything else out of sport.

I thought you were altogether far too kind to Allan Robertson in the obituary which you carried to him last month. All the “good work” which he may have done in the early part of his political life surely amounted to nothing in the light of the manner in which he betrayed his former friends and attempted to takeover the Swinton Circle and turn it into a neo-fascist front-organisation in 2008, and then lived “in denial” refusing to accept that he had been constitutionally expelled and causing so many untold difficulties and embarrassments to the authentic Swinton Circle by establishing his fake London Swinton Circle in attempted rivalry after that.
Robertson was simply a coward who was too weak to stand up to the neo-fascist infiltrators. He isn’t even worthy to be remembered, let alone praised in the manner that you accorded him.

OBITUARY
THOMAS MICHAEL BERNARD “MAD MIKE” HOARE
Thomas Michael Bernard Hoare – better known to the world as “Mad Mike” Hoare, or more colloquially as “Mad Mike Prostitute” - was a larger-than-life character best known for his mercenary activities in Africa, who sadly died last February aged 100 exactly. He was born at Calcutta, India, in 1919 to an Anglo-Irish family, but moved with his family to Ireland whilst only a few years old. With the granting of independence to the 26 southern counties of Ireland his parents, who were staunch Unionists and British loyalists, decided to move to the mainland. Although a bright child he was not overtly academically brilliant, and he never attempted to enter university, preferring instead to train to become an accountant.
At the outbreak of WWII he immediately volunteered to join the Territorial Army, but as soon as it was possible he enlisted in the Regular Army – in the ranks – joining the London Irish Rifles. He soon started studying to pass officer entry exams, and was quickly successful, and then starting as a 2nd Lieutenant eventually rose to the rank of Colonel. He was transferred to the Royal Ulster Rifles, where he fought against the Japanese both on the Indian border and in Burma. After WWII he emigrated to South Africa, settling in Durban, and started his own accountancy practice, whilst also dabblng in a number of other businesses – but urban life was not for him and so in 1953 he established his own tourism and safari company which enabled him to travel extensively throughout Africa. From then onwards he lived according to Nietzsche’s great dictum “live dangerously” – and as he lived to be 100 this certainly didn’t appear to be a bad maxim to follow!
In 1961 during his African travels he met Moise Tshombe, then a budding Congolese politician who, dismayed by the chaotic situation in the country caused by Belgium’s over-hasty abdication of power, was advocating an independence breakaway by his native province of Katanga. “Mad Mike” accepted Tshombe’s request to establish a mercenary army to assist with the establishment of an independent Katanga, and quickly managed to gather together a contingent of WWII-veteran colleagues from Durban, including several who subsequently supported our movement in the city some 20 or so years later, notably Tom Hawkins and Gerry Colenbrander, as well as Jerry Puren and Peter Duffy. The expedition to Katanga was initially a well-executed military success, but alas massive UN intervention forced Katanga to surrender and re-integrate into the Congolese state. Tshombe’s talents soon propelled him to prominence in central Congolese politics however, and once he had become President he quickly re-established his relationship with “Mad Mike” and hired him and his mercenaries to defeat and destroy the pro-Communist rebels in the east of the country. This proved to be an even greater military success for “Mad Mike”, with the rebels being rapidly annihilated in both Albertville and Stanleyville. It was at this time that “Mad Mike” made his famous comment about killing Communists being like killing vermin – with killing African Nationalists being not far short of this!
After the Congo operation had been concluded “Mad Mike” returned to anonymity as a semi-recluse in Durban – but all this was to change in 1981. He emerged as the mercenary leader of the ill-fated Ancient Order of Froth-Blowers Seychelles Coup attempt - which as well as including Jerry Puren and Peter Duffy again also contained our good friends Ken Dalglish and Mike Webb. After being accidently rumbled by Seychelles security staff the mercenaries hi-jacked a stop-over Air India jet and forced it to fly to Durban. Here they were all promptly arrested, but as the South African NP-government didn’t want to risk handing them over to any international authorities they were all tried in South Africa instead. All were found guilty and sentenced to lengthy terms of imprisonment in Pretoria Central Jail, with “Mad Mike” himself receiving a 20-year sentence – though he was subsequently released after serving only 33 months. This present writer met “Mad Mike” – a surprisingly short man in stature - when he addressed a meeting of The Circle Club in Durban during 1987, whereat he began his speech by quite openly stating “I received a ‘phone call from the State President’s Office who asked if I would lead an operation to overthrow the Seychelles Government” [these may not have been his exact words, but this was certainly the gist of what he said!]. It proved a captivating and highly informative speech, only ruined somewhat by describing the habits of some of the Black prisoners at Pretoria Central in somewhat over-graphic details!
In 1989 he relocated to France (he was a fluent French-speaker) and most surprisingly, given that he was brought up in the Church of Ireland, converted to Roman Catholicism. His devotion to this faith proved strong, and although by then a quite elderly man he completed a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela by walking the entire length of northern Spain. In 2009 he unexpectedly returned to the by then ANC-ruled South Africa to live on the Bluff in Durban, a most strange thing to do given that he had earlier compared killing Communists to killing vermin! Our sincere condolences are extended to all of his five remaining children.

After all the great joy which he has brought to the vast majority of the British people by successfully finalising the Brexit procedure, it has been wonderful to learn that Mr. Boris Johnson has now found personal happiness through his engagement to Ms. Carrie Symonds, and by the news that she is expecting their first child. We therefore wish Mr. and the future Mrs. Johnson every success and happiness for the future.
Although we were delighted when Mr. Johnson was victorious in the Conservative Party leadership election and when he was subsequently so gloriously triumphant at last year’s General Election, and of course were euphoric with the speedy and efficient manner in which he procured Britain’s exit from the European Union, we have however been somewhat disappointed with certain aspects of his government. This was particularly the case regarding the high number of non-ethnically-British characters who he appointed to his initial cabinet, as we exemplified in the editorial of the August 2019 Edition of the SCN. More recent of course the number of immigrant and immigrant-descended members of his cabinet have been reduced by two, and furthermore the departure of his ethically-Indian Home Secretary increasingly seems to be inevitable following a string of complaints about her bullying and intemperate behaviour made by several independent civil servants. But this has not been enough. If Mr. Johnson wishes to be re-elected at the next General Election – particularly to retain all the “red wall” seats which he unexpectedly won in 2019 – then he must ensure that his is a British Government for a British people.
But Boris Johnson isn’t the only Western leader who we originally had high hopes of but who has surprisingly disappointed us over recent months. As was detailed in the November 2019 Edition of the SCN, in spite of doing much which we approved of President Donald J. Trump blotted his copybook badly by announcing that US troops would be withdrawn from the Middle East way before the War against ISIS/ISIL and other militant Islamic forces had been properly won. Happily it later emerged that this announcement was not completely accurate, and that significant US troops would be staying in the region even so – and of course there was more relief when it was learnt that US forces had eliminated the Iranian terrorist commander Qassem Soleimani. More recently, however, there have been renewed worries by the news that US officials have signed a so-called “agreement for bringing peace” with the Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan. Surely the civilised world should never be parlaying with terrorists: they should be taking action to eradicate them! During the 1930s Field Marshall Bernard Lee Montgomery stated: “There is only one way to destroy terrorism, and that is to destroy the terrorists”. This was true in the 1930s, and it is still true in the 21st Century.
We are at a loss to understand why President Trump should condone such at act of abject appeasement. Appeasement didn’t work in 1938 and it won’t work now. There also doesn’t seem to be any electoral advantage for the GOP from it, for the “peacenik” liberals who would support such kow-towing to terrorists would all be supporting the ultra-egalitarian Joe Biden (or possibly the fanatical-socialist “Bernie”!) regardless. Surely if would be far better if President Trump were to throw more “red meat” to his GOP support-base by increasing US military intervention in the Middle East, and thereby stemming the flow of Islamic “refugees” invading the West. Happily very shortly after this “agreement for bringing peace” was signed there were reported to be renewed US air-strikes against Taliban terrorist bases. We hope and pray that these will not only continue but will be upgraded.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
The Springbok Club staged a most interesting and enjoyable trip to the Wallace Collection in London last month, and it was particularly encouraging to note that there was a higher attendance for such an away trip staged by the organisation than for several years. As well as viewing the special exhibition entitled “Forgotten Masters: Indian Painting for the East Indian Company” members of the party also took the opportunity to view many of the other famous paintings on display in the collection. After the conclusion of the visit Springbok Club tour party members adjourned to a near-by hostelry for a most enjoyable conclusion to the day.

James Lockwood was born at Pembury and raised at Tunbridge Wells in Kent. He read Law at King's College, London. After graduating he worked for almost a decade as a civilian investigator with Kent Police, and then for the Kent County Council managing aspects of the road network. After a stint in tax recruitment, he entered the healthcare tax sector as an NHS tax consultant. He was initiated into the Orange Order in February 2004, the Royal Black Institution in 2006 and the Apprentice Boys of Derry in 2004. He is a member of the Royal Society of St George and of UKIP. He was a former council candidate for the Conservative Party, and a former chairman of the Young Conservatives in the Cities of London & Westminster Conservative Association, overlapping with the chairmanship of Jacob Rees-Mogg. Currently he is Metropolitan Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Orange Order and served as London District Master from 2016 to 2018, is currently the Master of the South of England District Chapter of the Royal Black Institution, and is also Kent Branch Club Secretary for the Apprentice Boys of Derry. He also maintains an interest in other fraternal orders. His main interests outside the Loyal Orders are Badminton, Cricket, history, politics, genealogy, classical music and creative writing. Through the Orange Order he developed a keen interest in Lord Carson, regarded as the Father of Northern Ireland, and appeared on the BBC’s Mastermind quiz programme in 2013, with the life of Lord Carson being his specialist subject.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS
The Patriotic Forum will be holding a special Australian-themed event towards the end of April 2020 in order to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of Captain James Cook’s landing at Botany Bay. This event will consist of a visit to a number of sites in London associated with Captain Cook during the afternoon, followed by a gathering featuring a PowerPoint presentation and a short talk by a supporter with strong Australian connections in the evening. More details about this event will be given in next month’s SCN.

In late May the Patriotic Forum will be holding its traditional Empire Day celebration event, and in August will stage the first of its annual “Delderfield Lectures”(to be held in honour of the late Dennis Delderfield, who founded New Britain, a component part of today’s Patriotic Forum), at which the guest speaker will be a long-standing soul-mate of Dennis Delderfield who similarly campaigned for decades to achieve Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union. MESSAGE FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS
We have recently received the following most disturbing message about a revolting development in the “new” South Africa from the Network for Animals organisation. It reads as follows :-
“When you think of lions – Simba from The Lion King might come to mind – a magnificent creature living free in the wild. STAND BY FOR A SHOCK!
“In South Africa, these majestic creatures are bred in captivity and then drugged and paraded for ‘trophy hunters’ to shoot from parked vehicles. It’s sickening cruelty – the dazed lions are shot for FUN!
“There are about 200 places in South Africa that breed lions in captivity for canned lion hunting. As many as 6,000 lions are ‘stockpiled’ for hunters. When a lioness gives birth, her cubs are taken from her and used for tourists to pet and pose with them in photographs.
“When a lion gets bigger and harder to handle, it is moved to an enclosed area and there it stays until someone pays to shoot it.
“They call it canned lion hunting because the poor lions are literally served up on a plate for hunters. The lions can’t run, hide or defend themselves in any way.
“The lions are frequently drugged to make it easier for hunters, who often shoot the poor creatures while they sit inside a nearby vehicle. Often it takes several shots before the animal dies.
“In neighboring Zimbabwe, a lion called Cecil was shot with a bow and arrow and suffered for 12 hours before dying!
“It’s that horrible, that stark, that cruel. We need your help to stop it.
“We want your help to fight this cruelty and have it outlawed. It’s an uphill battle because the canned lion industry is wealthy, and so far the South African government is ignoring the cruelty. We have to lobby government; we have to raise public awareness and we have to support other groups.
“Please, if you possibly can, make a donation to Network for Animals today so that we can make canned lion hunting illegal.
“Every day this horror is allowed to continue means more dead lions at a time when the population is dropping throughout Africa. There used to be 200,000 lions in Africa, now there are around 25,000. Please, please help us fight the evil business that destroys their dignity and then them.

THE STRUGGLE FOR MORAL DECENCY IN WORLD SPORTS CONTINUES
During this year’s Australian Lawn Tennis Open Tournament a special trophy was presented to Margaret Court by Rod Laver in order to mark the 50th anniversary of her phenomenal achievement in winning all four major Women’s Singles titles in 1970. A video recording was played on the giant screens at the stadium of her triumphs in 1970, followed by an interview in which she stated how proud she was to be an Australian. Margaret Court, nowadays a Pentecostal minister, was of course cheered to the rafters by the patriotic crowd – but not everybody present was apparently as happy with this presentation as were the vast majority of the crowd. Two former champions - Martina Navratilova, an admitted lesbian, and John McEnroe, a foul-mouthed tantrum-prone brat – voiced pathetic opposition to the award being made to her because they objected to her forthright and principled campaign against the perversion of homosexuality, even holding up a childishly-daubed banner unilaterally proclaiming the Margeret Court Arena, the show-court named in her honour, as “Evonne Goolagong Arena” (after an Aborigine former champion). Navratilova and McEnroe were subsequently severely reprimanded by Tennis Australia for this sickening stunt, but it also came to light that they had tried to put pressure on Rod Laver not to make the presentation, though he had defiantly dismissed them with the contempt which they deserved.
At much the same time Israel Folau, the former Australian Rugby Union full-back who had earlier been unjustly “sacked” by Rugby Australia for taking a similar brave and principled stance against the poison of homosexuality as Margaret Court had done, decided to change codes and joined the Catalans Dragons Rugby League team. By so doing the directors of the Catalans Dragons club not only refused to bow to pressure from the pro-homosexual lobby, but also withstood opposition from their fellow Rugby League directors from other teams in the Super League who had cowardly kow-towed to the politically-correct brigade.
Sport is not an arena where homosexual predators against young children should be allowed to function – let alone be encouraged. We therefore salute not only Margaret Court and Israel Folau on their brave and forthright stands, but also Rod Laver and the directors of the Catalans Dragons Rugby League Club for having the courage to reject the threats from the obnoxious pro-homosexual lobby.

HOLOCAUST DENIAL DEBUNKED
On 17th February BBC2 broadcast a highly informative programme entitled “Confronting Holocaust Denial”, which was presented by David Baddiel. In this programme the theory that the Holocaust – the systematic murder of the Jewish people by the Nazi regime in Germany during the 1940s – never happened was fully and expertly debunked by David Baddiel and other historians and witnesses who appeared on the programme.
Of all the fruitcake conspiracy theories which alas abound in the world today the idea of Holocaust Denial is not only the most ridiculous (surely no historical episode has been more fully and indisputably documented and chronicled?) but also the most offensive, as it defames the six million or so innocent victims who died at the hands of the Nazi monsters. One cannot help but question the mental condition of all those who advance such nonsense therefore, and this was well illustrated in this programme by a Holocaust Denier from the Republic of Ireland who was interviewed who was quite clearly not all there up top – even writing and singing two bizarre songs “celebrating” his lunatic ideas.
Of particular interest to us, however, was the display of certain professionally produced material from the 1970s which claimed that the Holocaust was a lie. These publications we were unfortunately exposed to at the time, and had been published and printed by a certain Anthony “Tony” Hancock. Although alas taken-in for a while, we of course quickly realised that such publications were a load of rubbish and that it was Holocaust Denial itself which was a lie, and as a result decided to drop all contact with Hancock. This however only resulted in a dirty-tricks campaign being enacted against us by Hancock and a couple of his associates, which involved PhotoShop-fabricated pictures claiming to be of the editor of this periodical in various vile pornographic poses (Hancock was a PhotoShop expert), which happily were easily shown to be fake. Furthermore an e-mail was subsequently leaked to us in which Hancock admitted that he had fabricated these photos because we had “made disparaging remarks about Holocaust Denial”! Hancock died in 2012 from what has been described as “slow motion suicide by self-neglect”. Shortly before his death, however, it was revealed that he had been arrested (though never charged) for indecent exposure in front of a group of young women near to the Brighton beachfront. Such therefore is the calibre of the leading proponents of Holocaust Denial!

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
No.256 - Mr. STEPHEN SMIT of Kloof
Stephen Smit ran an estimable animal welfare organisation called FALCON (“Front for Animal Liberation and the Conservation of Nature”) in Natal during the 1980s. He spoke at a sitting of the “Durban Parliament” (the Durban Parliamentary Debating Society) when the Conservative caucus formed the “Government” and spoke expertly and movingly, easily winning the motion which he proposed. It became obvious, however, that apart from the issue of animal welfare itself he didn’t see eye-to-eye with the Conservative benches on many other matters! He clearly came across as a very decent and friendly person however, and it would be very interesting to learn where he is now, and whether FALCON has been allowed to continue functioning under the ANC regime.

I remember once phoning him up on important HNP business when he suddenly broke in and said “Hold on, the paper’s jammed in my photocopy machine. Wait a second while I fix it”. I held on for some time until the phone went dead. He never called me back. After that incident I thought it best to forget about him. I have no idea what then became of him.

FRAUDER-LOST

Gregory Lauder-Frost was born plain Gregory Frost in The Salvation Army Mothers' Hospital "Hillcrest" in Merewether, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on 8 August 1951 to Australian Wallace Frost (great-great grandson of English convict Thomas Frost, who was transported to Australia in 1810 for stealing a large sum of money - Lauder-Frost himself was sentenced to two years in prison for embezzling over £111,000 from Riverside Health Authority in 1992 and declared bankrupt in 1993) and US-born Cecily Scholey Lauder, the daughter of Scottish-born Matt Lauder jnr who had emigrated to Australia, then to the US (where he was naturalised, and his daughter was born) and thence back to Australia, where Matt Lauder jnr became a naturalised Australian.
His parents married at St Andrew's Church (Presbyterian) in Newcastle, New South Wales, in April 1948. Wallace Frost is described on the marriage certificate as a 'boilermaker' and Cecily Scholey Lauder is described as a 'tracer'. Lauder-Frost's grandfathers are described on his parents' marriage certificate as a 'truck driver' and an 'electrician' respectively.
His great-great-uncle was the popular Scottish entertainer Sir Harry Lauder who made a considerable amount of money from his show business career. Lauder-Frost likes to claim that the house known as Lauder Ha', which Sir Harry had built in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire in 1936, on land purchased just a few years earlier, was his "family seat" – thus giving the impression that he is descended from landed gentry. However, being distant relatives, none of Lauder-Frost's immediate family were beneficiaries in Sir Harry's will. Lauder Ha', which was put in the name of Sir Harry's niece and companion, Margaret 'Greta' Lauder, to avoid death duties, passed to Margaret 'Greta' Lauder and the house and contents were auctioned off after her death in 1966.

OBITUARIES
TERENCE DEAN “TERRY” OLIVER
It was with great shock and extreme sadness that we recently learnt of the death of Terry Oliver at the tragically early age of only 44.
Terry Oliver was born at Bulawayo in 1975, the son of Ian and Kathy Oliver, who had both emigrated to Rhodesia whilst young from the UK. He was educated at Tennyson Junior School in Bulawayo, before in 1987, with the advent of the ZANU/PF regime, his family moved to the UK, settling in Ramsgate. Here Terry continued his education, showing a flair for technology and practical tradesmanship. He studied and qualified as a welder, gaining many higher qualifications in the profession. With a growing family to provide for he also took on a position as a security guard, rapidly gaining promotion and gaining high respect among his contemporaries.
Together with the rest of his family, Terry became a stalwart of the Kent Branch of the Rhodesians Worldwide organisation. Here his constant smile, his infectious humour and his effervescent comradeship made him a greatly loved and highly valued colleague around the braai-stand. Although at times circumstances alas prevented him from being a regular attendee of branch monthly meetings, it is no exaggeration to say that he helped to make the Kent Branch one of the most dynamic and successful of the organisation’s branches.
As John Edmond states in his famous song: “Rhodesians never die” – a song which was aptly played at Terry’s packed funeral – and Terry Oliver probably exemplified this assertion more than most. He will live on not only in the blood and DNA of his four children, but also in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He personified all that was great about the Rhodesian people, and it was a true honour and privilege to have known him.
Our sincere condolences are extended to his parents Ian and Kathy, and to his children Reece, Hayley, Kyle and Eryn.

ALLAN BARRIE ROBERTSON
As many readers will know, Allan Barrie Robertson died on 10th February 2020 from a massive heart attack, aged only 53.
Allan Robertson had been born in Glasgow on 23rd February 1966 into a staunchly Protestant and Loyalist family. Academically brilliant, he gained a place at the University of Glasgow where he studied History, graduating with distinction. Whilst at the University of Glasgow he became active in both the Orange Order and in politics, becoming particularly involved with the Scotland branch of the Conservative Monday Club, of which he became Chairman.
Upon graduating he decided to move to London in order to take up a high position in the Civil Service with the Department of Education. Once firmly ensconced in London he resumed his activism in patriotic politics, joining his local branch of the Conservative Party and becoming actively involved in one of the London lodges of the Orange Order. The Loyal Orders were at this time, the early 1990s, enjoying increasing support in the Capital, and Allan Robertson’s keen and dedicated activism was undoubtedly a key contribution to this growth.
Allan Robertson was not only a staunch British patriot but was furthermore a staunch British Imperial patriot. He had for long supported the rights of his kith and kin in Southern Africa (he was as active member of the Scottish Friends of South Africa whilst studying at University) and was also an active supporter of Gibraltar, visiting the colony on many occasions. In view of this it was not surprising that he gravitated towards the Neo-Imperialist movement in London, joining and rising to high office in both the London Swinton Circle and in the Springbok Club.
He was also an extremely gifted writer, and was not only a founding contributing editor of the acclaimed patriotic magazine Right Now!, but also founded and edited his own broadsheet Tough Talking From the Right. He was a strong advocate of the restoration of capital punishment, and wrote many well-researched and expertly-argued articles advocating this cause.
The period from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s proved a halcyon time for the Neo-Imperialist movement, and indeed for the patriotic cause as a whole, and Allan Robertson undoubtedly played a significant role in this upsurge of support. He became Chairman of the Springbok Club and Organiser of the Swinton Circle (which by that time had dropped the “London” prefix) whilst this present writer held the reverse positions. The arrangement worked brilliantly, with the two fraternal organisations growing steadily in both size and influence.
Alas all this changed radically in 2008, for suddenly and inexplicably Robertson started writing letters advocating that the Springbok Club be closed down and that this present writer should resign from all positions within the Swinton Circle. At first it could not be fathomed out what had caused this astonishing volte-face by Allan Robertson, but then it was discovered that he had aligned himself with a small clique of political extremists who had previously been barred from attending Swinton Circle meetings, but who were then attempting to infiltrate and take over the organisation. Why Robertson should so suddenly and unexpectedly decide to betray his former friends and colleagues and to join forces with those who sought to destroy the organisations which he had previously so keenly supported is a matter of conjecture, but as it is only conjecture it is therefore probably best not to comment any further.
After all attempts to resolve the dumbfounding turn of events amicably failed the remaining Committee members of the Swinton Circle were sadly faced with no alternative but to call an Emergency General Meeting, and at this EGM (held on 17th January 2009) a motion was passed by 13 votes to nil (2 abstentions) to expel Allan Robertson and two associates (one of who, Christopher Luke, who is also now dead) from the organisation for gross misconduct. All three were given 30 days to appeal against this decision, but none availed themselves of the opportunity of doing so. Their expulsions therefore became absolute in February 2009.
This it was thought would be the end of the whole sorry saga, but alas this did not turn out to be the case, for Robertson set up his own rival “London Swinton Circle” (reviving the former prefix), and for the next decade operated in rivalry to the patriotic mainstream, rather than working in unison with his former friends and colleagues which he had done so effectively previously. By so doing he alas managed to “con” many good people who were unaware of the true facts into believing that his rival organisation was the genuine Swinton Circle, and also caused great embarrassment to the authentic organisation by inviting several political extremists and other unsavoury characters to be his guest speakers.
Over more recent years, however, the rumour was heard that Allan Robertson had decided to disassociate himself from all these extremists and was eager to re-establish friendly links with his former friends and colleagues once again. “Feelers” were put out that if he was to issue a sincere apology for his misconduct of 2008 then any attempt on his part to re-associate with the real Swinton Circle would be looked upon very favourably. Alas however at the time of his death no such apology had been forthcoming.
The real tragedy of Allan Robertson’s prematurely early death wasn’t so much his death in itself therefore, but rather that it occurred before he could be re-united with his former friends and colleagues in the patriotic mainstream, and therefore before his undoubted talents and abilities could once again be harnessed to the advantage of a united patriotic movement which he once believed so passionately in.

March 2020 edition
After all the great joy which he has brought to the vast majority of the British people by successfully finalising the Brexit procedure, it has been wonderful to learn that Mr. Boris Johnson has now found personal happiness through his engagement to Ms. Carrie Symonds, and by the news that she is expecting their first child. We therefore wish Mr. and the future Mrs. Johnson every success and happiness for the future.
Although we were delighted when Mr. Johnson was victorious in the Conservative Party leadership election and when he was subsequently so gloriously triumphant at last year’s General Election, and of course were euphoric with the speedy and efficient manner in which he procured Britain’s exit from the European Union, we have however been somewhat disappointed with certain aspects of his government. This was particularly the case regarding the high number of non-ethnically-British characters who he appointed to his initial cabinet, as we exemplified in the editorial of the August 2019 Edition of the SCN. More recent of course the number of immigrant and immigrant-descended members of his cabinet have been reduced by two, and furthermore the departure of his ethically-Indian Home Secretary increasingly seems to be inevitable following a string of complaints about her bullying and intemperate behaviour made by several independent civil servants. But this has not been enough. If Mr. Johnson wishes to be re-elected at the next General Election – particularly to retain all the “red wall” seats which he unexpectedly won in 2019 – then he must ensure that his is a British Government for a British people.
But Boris Johnson isn’t the only Western leader who we originally had high hopes of but who has surprisingly disappointed us over recent months. As was detailed in the November 2019 Edition of the SCN, in spite of doing much which we approved of President Donald J. Trump blotted his copybook badly by announcing that US troops would be withdrawn from the Middle East way before the War against ISIS/ISIL and other militant Islamic forces had been properly won. Happily it later emerged that this announcement was not completely accurate, and that significant US troops would be staying in the region even so – and of course there was more relief when it was learnt that US forces had eliminated the Iranian terrorist commander Qassem Soleimani. More recently, however, there have been renewed worries by the news that US officials have signed a so-called “agreement for bringing peace” with the Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan. Surely the civilised world should never be parlaying with terrorists: they should be taking action to eradicate them! During the 1930s Field Marshall Bernard Lee Montgomery stated: “There is only one way to destroy terrorism, and that is to destroy the terrorists”. This was true in the 1930s, and it is still true in the 21st Century.
We are at a loss to understand why President Trump should condone such at act of abject appeasement. Appeasement didn’t work in 1938 and it won’t work now. There also doesn’t seem to be any electoral advantage for the GOP from it, for the “peacenik” liberals who would support such kow-towing to terrorists would all be supporting the ultra-egalitarian Joe Biden (or possibly the fanatical-socialist “Bernie”!) regardless. Surely if would be far better if President Trump were to throw more “red meat” to his GOP support-base by increasing US military intervention in the Middle East, and thereby stemming the flow of Islamic “refugees” invading the West. Happily very shortly after this “agreement for bringing peace” was signed there were reported to be renewed US air-strikes against Taliban terrorist bases. We hope and pray that these will not only continue but will be upgraded.

The Springbok Club staged a most interesting and enjoyable trip to the Wallace Collection in London last month, and it was particularly encouraging to note that there was a higher attendance for such an away trip staged by the organisation than for several years. As well as viewing the special exhibition entitled “Forgotten Masters: Indian Painting for the East Indian Company” members of the party also took the opportunity to view many of the other famous paintings on display in the collection. After the conclusion of the visit Springbok Club tour party members adjourned to a near-by hostelry for a most enjoyable conclusion to the day.

After a stint in tax recruitment, he entered the healthcare tax sector as an NHS tax consultant. He was initiated into the Orange Order in February 2004, the Royal Black Institution in 2006 and the Apprentice Boys of Derry in 2004. He is a member of the Royal Society of St George and of UKIP. He was a former council candidate for the Conservative Party, and a former chairman of the Young Conservatives in the Cities of London & Westminster Conservative Association, overlapping with the chairmanship of Jacob Rees-Mogg. Currently he is Metropolitan Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Orange Order and served as London District Master from 2016 to 2018, is currently the Master of the South of England District Chapter of the Royal Black Institution, and is also Kent Branch Club Secretary for the Apprentice Boys of Derry. He also maintains an interest in other fraternal orders. His main interests outside the Loyal Orders are Badminton, Cricket, history, politics, genealogy, classical music and creative writing. Through the Orange Order he developed a keen interest in Lord Carson, regarded as the Father of Northern Ireland, and appeared on the BBC’s Mastermind quiz programme in 2013, with the life of Lord Carson being his specialist subject.

The Patriotic Forum will be holding a special Australian-themed event towards the end of April 2020 in order to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of Captain James Cook’s landing at Botany Bay. This event will consist of a visit to a number of sites in London associated with Captain Cook during the afternoon, followed by a gathering featuring a PowerPoint presentation and a short talk by a supporter with strong Australian connections in the evening. We have recently received the following most disturbing message about a revolting development in the “new” South Africa from the Network for Animals organisation. It reads as follows :-
“When you think of lions – Simba from The Lion King might come to mind – a magnificent creature living free in the wild. STAND BY FOR A SHOCK!
“In South Africa, these majestic creatures are bred in captivity and then drugged and paraded for ‘trophy hunters’ to shoot from parked vehicles. It’s sickening cruelty – the dazed lions are shot for FUN!
“There are about 200 places in South Africa that breed lions in captivity for canned lion hunting. As many as 6,000 lions are ‘stockpiled’ for hunters. When a lioness gives birth, her cubs are taken from her and used for tourists to pet and pose with them in photographs.
“When a lion gets bigger and harder to handle, it is moved to an enclosed area and there it stays until someone pays to shoot it.
“They call it canned lion hunting because the poor lions are literally served up on a plate for hunters. The lions can’t run, hide or defend themselves in any way.
“The lions are frequently drugged to make it easier for hunters, who often shoot the poor creatures while they sit inside a nearby vehicle. Often it takes several shots before the animal dies.
“In neighboring Zimbabwe, a lion called Cecil was shot with a bow and arrow and suffered for 12 hours before dying!
“It’s that horrible, that stark, that cruel. We need your help to stop it.
“We want your help to fight this cruelty and have it outlawed. It’s an uphill battle because the canned lion industry is wealthy, and so far the South African government is ignoring the cruelty. We have to lobby government; we have to raise public awareness and we have to support other groups.
“Please, if you possibly can, make a donation to Network for Animals today so that we can make canned lion hunting illegal.

THE STRUGGLE FOR MORAL DECENCY IN WORLD SPORTS CONTINUES
During this year’s Australian Lawn Tennis Open Tournament a special trophy was presented to Margaret Court by Rod Laver in order to mark the 50th anniversary of her phenomenal achievement in winning all four major Women’s Singles titles in 1970. A video recording was played on the giant screens at the stadium of her triumphs in 1970, followed by an interview in which she stated how proud she was to be an Australian. Margaret Court, nowadays a Pentecostal minister, was of course cheered to the rafters by the patriotic crowd – but not everybody present was apparently as happy with this presentation as were the vast majority of the crowd. Two former champions - Martina Navratilova, an admitted lesbian, and John McEnroe, a foul-mouthed tantrum-prone brat – voiced pathetic opposition to the award being made to her because they objected to her forthright and principled campaign against the perversion of homosexuality, even holding up a childishly-daubed banner unilaterally proclaiming the Margeret Court Arena, the show-court named in her honour, as “Evonne Goolagong Arena” (after an Aborigine former champion). Navratilova and McEnroe were subsequently severely reprimanded by Tennis Australia for this sickening stunt, but it also came to light that they had tried to put pressure on Rod Laver not to make the presentation, though he had defiantly dismissed them with the contempt which they deserved.
At much the same time Israel Folau, the former Australian Rugby Union full-back who had earlier been unjustly “sacked” by Rugby Australia for taking a similar brave and principled stance against the poison of homosexuality as Margaret Court had done, decided to change codes and joined the Catalans Dragons Rugby League team. By so doing the directors of the Catalans Dragons club not only refused to bow to pressure from the pro-homosexual lobby, but also withstood opposition from their fellow Rugby League directors from other teams in the Super League who had cowardly kow-towed to the politically-correct brigade.
Sport is not an arena where homosexual predators against young children should be allowed to function – let alone be encouraged. We therefore salute not only Margaret Court and Israel Folau on their brave and forthright stands, but also Rod Laver and the directors of the Catalans Dragons Rugby League Club for having the courage to reject the threats from the obnoxious pro-homosexual lobby.

HOLOCAUST DENIAL DEBUNKED
On 17th February BBC2 broadcast a highly informative programme entitled “Confronting Holocaust Denial”, which was presented by David Baddiel. In this programme the theory that the Holocaust – the systematic murder of the Jewish people by the Nazi regime in Germany during the 1940s – never happened was fully and expertly debunked by David Baddiel and other historians and witnesses who appeared on the programme.
Of all the fruitcake conspiracy theories which alas abound in the world today the idea of Holocaust Denial is not only the most ridiculous (surely no historical episode has been more fully and indisputably documented and chronicled?) but also the most offensive, as it defames the six million or so innocent victims who died at the hands of the Nazi monsters. One cannot help but question the mental condition of all those who advance such nonsense therefore, and this was well illustrated in this programme by a Holocaust Denier from the Republic of Ireland who was interviewed who was quite clearly not all there up top – even writing and singing two bizarre songs “celebrating” his lunatic ideas.
Of particular interest to us, however, was the display of certain professionally produced material from the 1970s which claimed that the Holocaust was a lie. These publications we were unfortunately exposed to at the time, and had been published and printed by a certain Anthony “Tony” Hancock. Although alas taken-in for a while, we of course quickly realised that such publications were a load of rubbish and that it was Holocaust Denial itself which was a lie, and as a result decided to drop all contact with Hancock. This however only resulted in a dirty-tricks campaign being enacted against us by Hancock and a couple of his associates, which involved PhotoShop-fabricated pictures claiming to be of the editor of this periodical in various vile pornographic poses (Hancock was a PhotoShop expert), which happily were easily shown to be fake. Furthermore an e-mail was subsequently leaked to us in which Hancock admitted that he had fabricated these photos because we had “made disparaging remarks about Holocaust Denial”! Hancock died in 2012 from what has been described as “slow motion suicide by self-neglect”. Shortly before his death, however, it was revealed that he had been arrested (though never charged) for indecent exposure in front of a group of young women near to the Brighton beachfront. Such therefore is the calibre of the leading proponents of Holocaust Denial!

REVEALING ASSESSMENT OF PRINCE HARRY AND HIS WIFE

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
No.256 - Mr. STEPHEN SMIT of Kloof
Stephen Smit ran an estimable animal welfare organisation called FALCON (“Front for Animal Liberation and the Conservation of Nature”) in Natal during the 1980s. He spoke at a sitting of the “Durban Parliament” (the Durban Parliamentary Debating Society) when the Conservative caucus formed the “Government” and spoke expertly and movingly, easily winning the motion which he proposed. It became obvious, however, that apart from the issue of animal welfare itself he didn’t see eye-to-eye with the Conservative benches on many other matters! He clearly came across as a very decent and friendly person however, and it would be very interesting to learn where he is now, and whether FALCON has been allowed to continue functioning under the ANC regime.

I remember once phoning him up on important HNP business when he suddenly broke in and said “Hold on, the paper’s jammed in my photocopy machine. Wait a second while I fix it”. I held on for some time until the phone went dead. He never called me back. After that incident I thought it best to forget about him. I have no idea what then became of him.

FRAUDER-LOST

Gregory Lauder-Frost was born plain Gregory Frost in The Salvation Army Mothers' Hospital "Hillcrest" in Merewether, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia on 8 August 1951 to Australian Wallace Frost (great-great grandson of English convict Thomas Frost, who was transported to Australia in 1810 for stealing a large sum of money - Lauder-Frost himself was sentenced to two years in prison for embezzling over £111,000 from Riverside Health Authority in 1992 and declared bankrupt in 1993) and US-born Cecily Scholey Lauder, the daughter of Scottish-born Matt Lauder jnr who had emigrated to Australia, then to the US (where he was naturalised, and his daughter was born) and thence back to Australia, where Matt Lauder jnr became a naturalised Australian.
His parents married at St Andrew's Church (Presbyterian) in Newcastle, New South Wales, in April 1948. Wallace Frost is described on the marriage certificate as a 'boilermaker' and Cecily Scholey Lauder is described as a 'tracer'. Lauder-Frost's grandfathers are described on his parents' marriage certificate as a 'truck driver' and an 'electrician' respectively.
His great-great-uncle was the popular Scottish entertainer Sir Harry Lauder who made a considerable amount of money from his show business career. Lauder-Frost likes to claim that the house known as Lauder Ha', which Sir Harry had built in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire in 1936, on land purchased just a few years earlier, was his "family seat" – thus giving the impression that he is descended from landed gentry. However, being distant relatives, none of Lauder-Frost's immediate family were beneficiaries in Sir Harry's will. Lauder Ha', which was put in the name of Sir Harry's niece and companion, Margaret 'Greta' Lauder, to avoid death duties, passed to Margaret 'Greta' Lauder and the house and contents were auctioned off after her death in 1966.

OBITUARIES
TERENCE DEAN “TERRY” OLIVER
It was with great shock and extreme sadness that we recently learnt of the death of Terry Oliver at the tragically early age of only 44.
Terry Oliver was born at Bulawayo in 1975, the son of Ian and Kathy Oliver, who had both emigrated to Rhodesia whilst young from the UK. He was educated at Tennyson Junior School in Bulawayo, before in 1987, with the advent of the ZANU/PF regime, his family moved to the UK, settling in Ramsgate. Here Terry continued his education, showing a flair for technology and practical tradesmanship. He studied and qualified as a welder, gaining many higher qualifications in the profession. With a growing family to provide for he also took on a position as a security guard, rapidly gaining promotion and gaining high respect among his contemporaries.
Together with the rest of his family, Terry became a stalwart of the Kent Branch of the Rhodesians Worldwide organisation. Here his constant smile, his infectious humour and his effervescent comradeship made him a greatly loved and highly valued colleague around the braai-stand. Although at times circumstances alas prevented him from being a regular attendee of branch monthly meetings, it is no exaggeration to say that he helped to make the Kent Branch one of the most dynamic and successful of the organisation’s branches.
As John Edmond states in his famous song: “Rhodesians never die” – a song which was aptly played at Terry’s packed funeral – and Terry Oliver probably exemplified this assertion more than most. He will live on not only in the blood and DNA of his four children, but also in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He personified all that was great about the Rhodesian people, and it was a true honour and privilege to have known him.
Our sincere condolences are extended to his parents Ian and Kathy, and to his children Reece, Hayley, Kyle and Eryn.

ALLAN BARRIE ROBERTSON
As many readers will know, Allan Barrie Robertson died on 10th February 2020 from a massive heart attack, aged only 53.
Allan Robertson had been born in Glasgow on 23rd February 1966 into a staunchly Protestant and Loyalist family. Academically brilliant, he gained a place at the University of Glasgow where he studied History, graduating with distinction. Whilst at the University of Glasgow he became active in both the Orange Order and in politics, becoming particularly involved with the Scotland branch of the Conservative Monday Club, of which he became Chairman.
Upon graduating he decided to move to London in order to take up a high position in the Civil Service with the Department of Education. Once firmly ensconced in London he resumed his activism in patriotic politics, joining his local branch of the Conservative Party and becoming actively involved in one of the London lodges of the Orange Order. The Loyal Orders were at this time, the early 1990s, enjoying increasing support in the Capital, and Allan Robertson’s keen and dedicated activism was undoubtedly a key contribution to this growth.
Allan Robertson was not only a staunch British patriot but was furthermore a staunch British Imperial patriot. He had for long supported the rights of his kith and kin in Southern Africa (he was as active member of the Scottish Friends of South Africa whilst studying at University) and was also an active supporter of Gibraltar, visiting the colony on many occasions. In view of this it was not surprising that he gravitated towards the Neo-Imperialist movement in London, joining and rising to high office in both the London Swinton Circle and in the Springbok Club.
He was also an extremely gifted writer, and was not only a founding contributing editor of the acclaimed patriotic magazine Right Now!, but also founded and edited his own broadsheet Tough Talking From the Right. He was a strong advocate of the restoration of capital punishment, and wrote many well-researched and expertly-argued articles advocating this cause.
The period from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s proved a halcyon time for the Neo-Imperialist movement, and indeed for the patriotic cause as a whole, and Allan Robertson undoubtedly played a significant role in this upsurge of support. He became Chairman of the Springbok Club and Organiser of the Swinton Circle (which by that time had dropped the “London” prefix) whilst this present writer held the reverse positions. The arrangement worked brilliantly, with the two fraternal organisations growing steadily in both size and influence.
Alas all this changed radically in 2008, for suddenly and inexplicably Robertson started writing letters advocating that the Springbok Club be closed down and that this present writer should resign from all positions within the Swinton Circle. At first it could not be fathomed out what had caused this astonishing volte-face by Allan Robertson, but then it was discovered that he had aligned himself with a small clique of political extremists who had previously been barred from attending Swinton Circle meetings, but who were then attempting to infiltrate and take over the organisation. Why Robertson should so suddenly and unexpectedly decide to betray his former friends and colleagues and to join forces with those who sought to destroy the organisations which he had previously so keenly supported is a matter of conjecture, but as it is only conjecture it is therefore probably best not to comment any further.
After all attempts to resolve the dumbfounding turn of events amicably failed the remaining Committee members of the Swinton Circle were sadly faced with no alternative but to call an Emergency General Meeting, and at this EGM (held on 17th January 2009) a motion was passed by 13 votes to nil (2 abstentions) to expel Allan Robertson and two associates (one of who, Christopher Luke, who is also now dead) from the organisation for gross misconduct. All three were given 30 days to appeal against this decision, but none availed themselves of the opportunity of doing so. Their expulsions therefore became absolute in February 2009.
This it was thought would be the end of the whole sorry saga, but alas this did not turn out to be the case, for Robertson set up his own rival “London Swinton Circle” (reviving the former prefix), and for the next decade operated in rivalry to the patriotic mainstream, rather than working in unison with his former friends and colleagues which he had done so effectively previously. By so doing he alas managed to “con” many good people who were unaware of the true facts into believing that his rival organisation was the genuine Swinton Circle, and also caused great embarrassment to the authentic organisation by inviting several political extremists and other unsavoury characters to be his guest speakers.
Over more recent years, however, the rumour was heard that Allan Robertson had decided to disassociate himself from all these extremists and was eager to re-establish friendly links with his former friends and colleagues once again. “Feelers” were put out that if he was to issue a sincere apology for his misconduct of 2008 then any attempt on his part to re-associate with the real Swinton Circle would be looked upon very favourably. Alas however at the time of his death no such apology had been forthcoming.
The real tragedy of Allan Robertson’s prematurely early death wasn’t so much his death in itself therefore, but rather that it occurred before he could be re-united with his former friends and colleagues in the patriotic mainstream, and therefore before his undoubted talents and abilities could once again be harnessed to the advantage of a united patriotic movement which he once believed so passionately in.

Over the centuries the British monarchy has served the British people very well. To be sure, there have been some rogues who have sat upon the throne, but these were mainly effectively removed without any lasting damage being caused to the nation. Indeed, ever since the Glorious Revolution of 1688 and the consequent establishment of constitutional monarchy, the power, prestige and prosperity of the United Kingdom (as came to fruition under Queen Anne in 1707) only increased, with successive monarchs all presiding over an expansion of the bounteous British Empire.
In spite of the hiccup of 1936 when Edward VIII chose a totally unsuitable woman to be his wife, the respect which the British people held for their monarch held good, and the steadfastness of his brother and successor George VI was an inspiration to the British nation and the Commonwealth as they withstood and overcame German aggression during WWII – just as his father George V had provided similar inspiration against the same threat during WWI, and as his great-grandmother Queen Victoria had done by personifying national advancement throughout the nineteenth century.
It is difficult to criticise the present Queen Elizabeth, as increasing constitutional constraints have made it very difficult for her to do other than “to consult, to encourage and to warn”, but we do however believe that she should have warned successive governments strongly about their great mistakes in dismantling the British Empire, joining the Common Market/EU and allowing massive alien immigration into the British homeland, all steps which had a grave detrimental effect upon the well-being of her subjects. Furthermore, her willingness to welcome evil overseas dictators and terrorists on state visits seemingly without any criticism will surely mean that history will not view her entirely kindly.
But it is two more recent developments concerning the British Royal Family which are of concern now. Firstly HRH the Duke of York has been criticised for his business relationship with the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died mysteriously in jail whilst facing charges of engaging in underage-sex. This criticism is therefore nothing more than an allegation of “guilt by association”. The subsequent accusation of a similar crime committed by HRH the Duke of York himself was made by a publicity-seeking woman of admitted lax morals during her youth, and lacks any form of substantiated proof whatsoever. If the photograph produced to try to justify this claim was genuine then HRH the Duke of York must have a very long left arm! HRH the Duke of York is highly popular, is a British war hero and, his unwise choice of friends notwithstanding, has served his country extremely well in many other ways. Quite clearly there are those both inside and outside Royal circles who wish to do him down, and the reasons for this are a matter of puzzling concern.
The other recent crisis which has hit the Royal Family involves Prince Harry (now officially titled the Duke of Sussex) and is far more worrying and serious. It is surely now an accepted fact that he made a highly unsuitable choice in his wife, but there is a more important “elephant in the room” involved which has been hardly mentioned in the UK media, namely the severe doubts over his true paternity. Rumours have abounded for years on the Internet and in “pub talk” that his biological father was actually Major James Hewitt, but there has been an almost complete blackout regarding this theory in the British media – though apparently not so much in Australia and other parts of the world where the subject has been discussed openly. The rumour has been floated that a DNA test was carried out on Prince Harry and the result was that he was indeed the son of the Prince of Wales – but as these have only been rumours there is therefore no evidence that any such tests ever took place! We therefore call upon the authorities to conduct an open DNA test upon Prince Harry to be conducted by respected experts, and if the result proves that he has no Royal blood then he and his descendants must be removed from the order of succession. Be this as it may, the actions of Prince Harry – or the Duke of Sussex as he now officially should be called – in abandoning his HRH prefix and withdrawing from all Royal duties, must mean that some far more fundamental actions will further have to be taken. Already a motion has been tabled in the Brighton & Hove City Council requesting that the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex be revoked, presumably because they do not approve of the name of their beautiful and beloved county being sullied because of the ethnicity of the controversial Duchess. Surely therefore the precedence of Prince Harry’s great-granduncle, who also insisted upon marrying an equally unsuitable divorcée, should be enacted, and he should similarly be instructed to abandon any position for himself and his descendants in the order of succession to the throne. Perhaps it might also be a good idea for the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be renounced, and that instead the couple be awarded the titles given to his great-granduncle and his wife, namely the Duke and Duchess of Windsor – titles which have been in abeyance since the death of the earlier Duchess.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
Happily it can be reported that the Springbok Club’s 2020 AGM held last month proved a most enjoyable and successful occasion, with an attendance somewhat higher than for several years. A new member was elected to the Committee to take the place of the vacancy, and a new appointment as Fund-raiser was also successfully filled. A motion was also proposed and passed that the annual fee for Associate Membership should be raised from £10.00 to £15.00, although the fee for Full Membership would remain at £20.00 per annum. After the business side of proceedings was concluded Mr. Gary Vincent gave a superlative PowerPoint presentation about the 1820 Settlers in order to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their colonisation of the Eastern Cape. This presentation dwelt on the selection process for the initial settlers (which mainly took place at the “Crown & Anchor” Ballroom in London, the site of the current “The George” pub in the Strand), the voyages of the main ships S.S.Chapman and S.S.Nautilus to transport the settlers to the Eastern Cape, and the significant part played in the whole enterprise by Sir Rafate Donkin – after whose late wife Port Elizabeth was named. Unexpectedly this presentation ended with the words “The Beginning” rather than “The End” – which was truly accurate as the colonisation of the Eastern Cape by the 1820 Settlers actually marked the beginning of the establishment of British civilisation in this part of Southern Africa – a triumphant achievement which was alas betrayed by the sell-out “National Party” government of South Africa some 170 years later!

The Springbok Club will be staging a trip to the Wallace Collection in London on Saturday 15th February, in order to see a special exhibition entitled “Forgotten Masters: Indian Painting for the East Indian Company”. Rendezvous at “The Devonshire Arms”, 7 Duke Street, London, W1U 3EE, between 14.00 hrs and 15.00 hrs., before leaving for the near-by Wallace Collection at 15.00 hrs sharp. After viewing the exhibition the Springbok Club party will adjourn to another near-by hostelry for discussions and a convivial conclusion to the day.

On the evening of Friday 31st January a large contingent of Patriotic Forum members and supporters participated in the massive celebrations at Parliament Square marking the restoration of Britain’s sovereign independence. This proved a most spectacular and memorable event, and good new contacts were established with a number of prominent Brexit Party members and others who had campaigned for decades to achieve Britain’s withdrawal from the hated European Union. The Patriotic Forum had special publicity flyers printed for this event, and hundreds were distributed among the large crowds, alerting everyone to the on-going activities which the Patriotic Forum will continue to stage in order to advance the patriotic cause. It was also most encouraging to make contact with a group of Flemish nationalists who had journeyed over to London specially for this occasion. Although of course the Patriotic Forum, being a staunchly Unionist organisation, doesn’t support the cause of Flemish breakaway from the Belgium nation, the fact that a group of fellow anti-EU Europeans went out of their way to support the enactment of Brexit can only be regarded as a great encouragement.

Unfortunately the planned guest speaker for the Patriotic Forum’s annual New Zealand Day celebration meeting had to withdraw because of an unexpected return visit to New Zealand, so this year’s event was therefore a far lower-keyed affair than anticipated. The scheduled guest speaker has promised that she will speak for the organisation in a future year however.

“The African country of Botswana has taken the outrageous step of legalizing elephant hunting, at a time when elephants are dying, at the rate of 100 a day, from poaching – and it’s getting worse in Botswana. A recent aerial wildlife survey, conducted by Elephants Without Borders (EWB), showed an increased number of fresh elephant carcasses in the north of the country, undoubtedly the victims of poaching..
“Even worse, Botswana now wants to sell ivory from the dead elephants on the world markets!
“Make no mistake, the present government of Botswana cares nothing for elephants, viewing them as little more than a nuisance. Such is their contempt for world opinion and the safety of elephants, that it recently presented stools, made from elephant feet, to three African leaders during a meeting on the future of elephants.
“If the Botswana government continues, the country’s elephants will be wiped out – all 130,000 of them.
“The scale of this disaster is utterly catastrophic for elephants. During the 20th century, it is estimated that there were between three to five million African elephants. Now, there are only 400,000 left, and that number drops every single day, by 100 or more.
“Yet Botswana is asking the upcoming meeting of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), to allow it to export elephant tusks to the world, in spite of an international ban on the trade.
“This outrageous behavior by Botswana makes Network for Animals’ work to save elephants in neighboring South Africa, even more important. We are relocating elephant families to wilderness areas, thousands of miles from poaching routes, and we are helping protect them by financing anti-poaching patrols.
“In the light of these latest developments, we urgently need to do more – and do it faster, and we need your help to do so. Please give generously to Network for Animals today so that, no matter what happens in Botswana, we can save as many wild elephants as possible.
“The area we work in is called the Addo National Park, and it is really the best hope for the world’s elephants. It is nearly 800 miles from Botswana, and 1,000 miles from the poaching hotspot of Mozambique. At Addo, if nowhere else, elephants will, hopefully, be safe.

ANOTHER SOUTH AFRICAN POISONING SCANDAL?
Shortly after the touring England Cricket team arrived in South Africa recently several of their leading players were taken ill with food poisoning, and as a result the weakened England team lost a couple of matches which they were expected to win easily. Although there has been no suggestion that these poisonings were deliberate, the whole incident does bring back memories of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final in South Africa, when several members of the hot-favourite New Zealand team were laid low with food-poisoning in an incident which was later revealed to have been deliberate (see April 2016 SCN). Although it was claimed that this poisoning was enacted at the behest of a Far Eastern betting syndicate, many believe that its true reason was in order for the ANC-regime to gain international prestige by means of a sporting triumph. In view of this the “new” South Africa’s surprising victory at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan becomes even more potentially sinister, as they were not expected to beat Wales in the semi-final, let alone the in-form England team in the final. Perhaps a full investigation should therefore take place in order to check whether any of the Welsh or English players displayed any subsequent signs of food-poisoning?

No.255 - Mr. GERRY BARKER of Durban and Australia
Gerry Barker was a prominent member of the Roper Set in Durban. British by birth, he had a brother named Alan (although he was not so active in the Roper Set) and was a keen and talented sportsman. He lived in Durban for many years, before re-emigrating to Australia in the early-1980s, but only about a year later he returned to Durban on a visit where he amazed and amused everybody by having perfected an outrageous Australian accent! It would be very interesting to learn whether he is still based in Australia, or whether he has continued his globe-trotting!

GHERKIN REMEMBERED
Sir,
I have recently come across an extremely interesting press cutting from the Sunday Times of March 8th 1992 featuring a certain Mr. Gordon Parkin. The report begins as follows :-
“Right-wing Durban city councillor Gordon Parkin was nervous and ‘hyped up’ during his maiden speech at City Hall. But when the Democratic Party’s Yvonne Hart asked him to speak up he angrily suggested that she ‘come outside’. Mayor Gys Muller ordered Mr.Parkin to leave the council chamber after he refused to withdraw his ‘threatening’ remark. It was the first time a Durban councillor had been ejected after making a maiden speech. The confrontation occurred on Monday when Mr.Parkin – councillor for Umhlatazana East - rose to speak on the issue of appointing a task-force to draw up by-laws to control informal street-trading. Mr.Parkin had not said anything in the chamber since his election last year, and appeared nervous on his big day, He spoke quickly – and not into the microphone. Several councillors asked him to speak up, but Mr.Parkin continued to ‘ramble’. When Mrs.Hart stood up and asked him to speak more slowly, he said: ‘If you want to argue, come outside’.”
I knew Mr.Gordon Parkin several years ago, but I didn’t know previously that he had been elected a Durban city councilor. I’m afraid however that my memories of him were not very favourable. He attached himself to the “Right-wing” movement in the city during the struggle against the NP’s betrayal programme, but managed to upset and alienate one person after another. The two main reasons for this were his habit of telling people what to do, but then doing nothing himself (i.e. being “all talk but no action”), and failing to turn up to meetings and other activities after promising to do so. It was a great surprise therefore to learn that he was elected to council as a “Right-winger”. Who was behind his election campaign I therefore wonder, and how come people voted for such an incapable and unqualified candidate who only brought shame to the Right-wing cause by his oafish behaviour?

OBITUARY
TERRY JONES
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Terry Jones, the famous comedian and comedy scriptwriter, at the age of 77. Terry Jones was born at Colwyn Bay, but moved with his family to Surrey whilst still a boy. He attended the Royal Guildford Grammar School where his precocious talents propelled him not only to become head boy, but also to become captain of the school’s Rugby Union Football 1st XV. He was also a keen member of the school’s Officer Cadet Corp, wherein he proved to be a crack shot. After school he won a place at St.Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he studied English and History – but he also immersed himself in university drama and comedy reviews.
As a result of the acclaim which he received for his comedy productions at university he was recruited into the scriptwriting team for David Frost’s various TV programmes, and from there went on to appear on the screen himself in the ground-breaking TV comedy series Do Not Adjust Your Set, alongside his Oxford colleague Michael Palin. Together with the other main characters from the Do Not Adjust Your Set team Terry Jones joined up with members from the other ground-breaking TV comedy series of the period, At Last the 1948 Show, in order to form probably the greatest comedy manifestation of all time – Monty Python’s Flying Circus. The rest, as they say, is history.
Terry Jones remained with the Monty Python team throughout all of its on-and-off reincarnations for the rest of his life, even though he, like all other team members, branched out into his own comedy ventures. But his solo ventures were not only of a comedy nature, for he also returned to his academic expertise by writing, producing and presenting several TV documentary series about medieval history – though these always had constant humorous twists! Probably the most important of these was his series Crusades, which emphasised none too subtly that the West faced the same threat from Islamic expansionism today as it did during medieval times.
The Monty Python team, and Terry Jones in particular, brought great joy and laughter to millions of people during the dark depressing era of the latter half of the 20th century, in particular by pillorying and ridiculing many of the “politically correct” shibboleths of the time – something which alas most subsequent mainstream comedians have been too frightened to do. Over the centuries the British monarchy has served the British people very well. To be sure, there have been some rogues who have sat upon the throne, but these were mainly effectively removed without any lasting damage being caused to the nation. Indeed, ever since the Glorious Revolution of 1688 and the consequent establishment of constitutional monarchy, the power, prestige and prosperity of the United Kingdom (as came to fruition under Queen Anne in 1707) only increased, with successive monarchs all presiding over an expansion of the bounteous British Empire.
In spite of the hiccup of 1936 when Edward VIII chose a totally unsuitable woman to be his wife, the respect which the British people held for their monarch held good, and the steadfastness of his brother and successor George VI was an inspiration to the British nation and the Commonwealth as they withstood and overcame German aggression during WWII – just as his father George V had provided similar inspiration against the same threat during WWI, and as his great-grandmother Queen Victoria had done by personifying national advancement throughout the nineteenth century.
It is difficult to criticise the present Queen Elizabeth, as increasing constitutional constraints have made it very difficult for her to do other than “to consult, to encourage and to warn”, but we do however believe that she should have warned successive governments strongly about their great mistakes in dismantling the British Empire, joining the Common Market/EU and allowing massive alien immigration into the British homeland, all steps which had a grave detrimental effect upon the well-being of her subjects. Furthermore, her willingness to welcome evil overseas dictators and terrorists on state visits seemingly without any criticism will surely mean that history will not view her entirely kindly.
But it is two more recent developments concerning the British Royal Family which are of concern now. Firstly HRH the Duke of York has been criticised for his business relationship with the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died mysteriously in jail whilst facing charges of engaging in underage-sex. This criticism is therefore nothing more than an allegation of “guilt by association”. The subsequent accusation of a similar crime committed by HRH the Duke of York himself was made by a publicity-seeking woman of admitted lax morals during her youth, and lacks any form of substantiated proof whatsoever. If the photograph produced to try to justify this claim was genuine then HRH the Duke of York must have a very long left arm! HRH the Duke of York is highly popular, is a British war hero and, his unwise choice of friends notwithstanding, has served his country extremely well in many other ways. Quite clearly there are those both inside and outside Royal circles who wish to do him down, and the reasons for this are a matter of puzzling concern.
The other recent crisis which has hit the Royal Family involves Prince Harry (now officially titled the Duke of Sussex) and is far more worrying and serious. It is surely now an accepted fact that he made a highly unsuitable choice in his wife, but there is a more important “elephant in the room” involved which has been hardly mentioned in the UK media, namely the severe doubts over his true paternity. Rumours have abounded for years on the Internet and in “pub talk” that his biological father was actually Major James Hewitt, but there has been an almost complete blackout regarding this theory in the British media – though apparently not so much in Australia and other parts of the world where the subject has been discussed openly. The rumour has been floated that a DNA test was carried out on Prince Harry and the result was that he was indeed the son of the Prince of Wales – but as these have only been rumours there is therefore no evidence that any such tests ever took place! We therefore call upon the authorities to conduct an open DNA test upon Prince Harry to be conducted by respected experts, and if the result proves that he has no Royal blood then he and his descendants must be removed from the order of succession. Be this as it may, the actions of Prince Harry – or the Duke of Sussex as he now officially should be called – in abandoning his HRH prefix and withdrawing from all Royal duties, must mean that some far more fundamental actions will further have to be taken. Already a motion has been tabled in the Brighton & Hove City Council requesting that the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex be revoked, presumably because they do not approve of the name of their beautiful and beloved county being sullied because of the ethnicity of the controversial Duchess. Surely therefore the precedence of Prince Harry’s great-granduncle, who also insisted upon marrying an equally unsuitable divorcée, should be enacted, and he should similarly be instructed to abandon any position for himself and his descendants in the order of succession to the throne. Perhaps it might also be a good idea for the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be renounced, and that instead the couple be awarded the titles given to his great-granduncle and his wife, namely the Duke and Duchess of Windsor – titles which have been in abeyance since the death of the earlier Duchess.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
Happily it can be reported that the Springbok Club’s 2020 AGM held last month proved a most enjoyable and successful occasion, with an attendance somewhat higher than for several years. A new member was elected to the Committee to take the place of the vacancy, and a new appointment as Fund-raiser was also successfully filled. A motion was also proposed and passed that the annual fee for Associate Membership should be raised from £10.00 to £15.00, although the fee for Full Membership would remain at £20.00 per annum. After the business side of proceedings was concluded Mr. Gary Vincent gave a superlative PowerPoint presentation about the 1820 Settlers in order to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their colonisation of the Eastern Cape. This presentation dwelt on the selection process for the initial settlers (which mainly took place at the “Crown & Anchor” Ballroom in London, the site of the current “The George” pub in the Strand), the voyages of the main ships S.S.Chapman and S.S.Nautilus to transport the settlers to the Eastern Cape, and the significant part played in the whole enterprise by Sir Rafate Donkin – after whose late wife Port Elizabeth was named. Unexpectedly this presentation ended with the words “The Beginning” rather than “The End” – which was truly accurate as the colonisation of the Eastern Cape by the 1820 Settlers actually marked the beginning of the establishment of British civilisation in this part of Southern Africa – a triumphant achievement which was alas betrayed by the sell-out “National Party” government of South Africa some 170 years later!

After viewing the exhibition the Springbok Club party will adjourn to another near-by hostelry for discussions and a convivial conclusion to the day.

ANOTHER SOUTH AFRICAN POISONING SCANDAL?
Shortly after the touring England Cricket team arrived in South Africa recently several of their leading players were taken ill with food poisoning, and as a result the weakened England team lost a couple of matches which they were expected to win easily. Although there has been no suggestion that these poisonings were deliberate, the whole incident does bring back memories of the 1995 Rugby World Cup Final in South Africa, when several members of the hot-favourite New Zealand team were laid low with food-poisoning in an incident which was later revealed to have been deliberate (see April 2016 SCN). Although it was claimed that this poisoning was enacted at the behest of a Far Eastern betting syndicate, many believe that its true reason was in order for the ANC-regime to gain international prestige by means of a sporting triumph. In view of this the “new” South Africa’s surprising victory at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan becomes even more potentially sinister, as they were not expected to beat Wales in the semi-final, let alone the in-form England team in the final. Perhaps a full investigation should therefore take place in order to check whether any of the Welsh or English players displayed any subsequent signs of food-poisoning?

We have now learnt that this hate-campaign against Caroline has continued, and somehow – apparently by spreading fake news about her – the pro-perversion lobby has managed to have her barred from entering the United States. The reason she was aiming to visit the U.S. was in order to join other CitizenGO activists from around the world in delivering a protest petition to the Disney Corporation’s headquarters at Orlando in Florida, asking Disney to stop converting their parks and movies into a pro-homosexual propaganda machine. Caroline and her CitizenGO colleagues had the last laugh however, for the organisation successfully managed to deliver its petition containing some half-million signatures to Disney’s CEO at their Orlando HQ! We therefore salute Caroline Farrow and the CitizenGO organisation in their efforts to uphold civilised standards and to protect the well-being of our children in this way. No.255 - Mr. GERRY BARKER of Durban and Australia
Gerry Barker was a prominent member of the Roper Set in Durban. British by birth, he had a brother named Alan (although he was not so active in the Roper Set) and was a keen and talented sportsman. He lived in Durban for many years, before re-emigrating to Australia in the early-1980s, but only about a year later he returned to Durban on a visit where he amazed and amused everybody by having perfected an outrageous Australian accent! It would be very interesting to learn whether he is still based in Australia, or whether he has continued his globe-trotting!

GHERKIN REMEMBERED
Sir,
I have recently come across an extremely interesting press cutting from the Sunday Times of March 8th 1992 featuring a certain Mr. Gordon Parkin. The report begins as follows :-
“Right-wing Durban city councillor Gordon Parkin was nervous and ‘hyped up’ during his maiden speech at City Hall. But when the Democratic Party’s Yvonne Hart asked him to speak up he angrily suggested that she ‘come outside’. Mayor Gys Muller ordered Mr.Parkin to leave the council chamber after he refused to withdraw his ‘threatening’ remark. It was the first time a Durban councillor had been ejected after making a maiden speech. The confrontation occurred on Monday when Mr.Parkin – councillor for Umhlatazana East - rose to speak on the issue of appointing a task-force to draw up by-laws to control informal street-trading. Mr.Parkin had not said anything in the chamber since his election last year, and appeared nervous on his big day, He spoke quickly – and not into the microphone. Several councillors asked him to speak up, but Mr.Parkin continued to ‘ramble’. When Mrs.Hart stood up and asked him to speak more slowly, he said: ‘If you want to argue, come outside’.”
I knew Mr.Gordon Parkin several years ago, but I didn’t know previously that he had been elected a Durban city councilor. I’m afraid however that my memories of him were not very favourable. He attached himself to the “Right-wing” movement in the city during the struggle against the NP’s betrayal programme, but managed to upset and alienate one person after another. The two main reasons for this were his habit of telling people what to do, but then doing nothing himself (i.e. being “all talk but no action”), and failing to turn up to meetings and other activities after promising to do so. It was a great surprise therefore to learn that he was elected to council as a “Right-winger”. Who was behind his election campaign I therefore wonder, and how come people voted for such an incapable and unqualified candidate who only brought shame to the Right-wing cause by his oafish behaviour?

OBITUARY
TERRY JONES
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Terry Jones, the famous comedian and comedy scriptwriter, at the age of 77. Terry Jones was born at Colwyn Bay, but moved with his family to Surrey whilst still a boy. He attended the Royal Guildford Grammar School where his precocious talents propelled him not only to become head boy, but also to become captain of the school’s Rugby Union Football 1st XV. He was also a keen member of the school’s Officer Cadet Corp, wherein he proved to be a crack shot. After school he won a place at St.Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he studied English and History – but he also immersed himself in university drama and comedy reviews.
As a result of the acclaim which he received for his comedy productions at university he was recruited into the scriptwriting team for David Frost’s various TV programmes, and from there went on to appear on the screen himself in the ground-breaking TV comedy series Do Not Adjust Your Set, alongside his Oxford colleague Michael Palin. Together with the other main characters from the Do Not Adjust Your Set team Terry Jones joined up with members from the other ground-breaking TV comedy series of the period, At Last the 1948 Show, in order to form probably the greatest comedy manifestation of all time – Monty Python’s Flying Circus. The rest, as they say, is history.
Terry Jones remained with the Monty Python team throughout all of its on-and-off reincarnations for the rest of his life, even though he, like all other team members, branched out into his own comedy ventures. But his solo ventures were not only of a comedy nature, for he also returned to his academic expertise by writing, producing and presenting several TV documentary series about medieval history – though these always had constant humorous twists! Probably the most important of these was his series Crusades, which emphasised none too subtly that the West faced the same threat from Islamic expansionism today as it did during medieval times.
The Monty Python team, and Terry Jones in particular, brought great joy and laughter to millions of people during the dark depressing era of the latter half of the 20th century, in particular by pillorying and ridiculing many of the “politically correct” shibboleths of the time – something which alas most subsequent mainstream comedians have been too frightened to do. Perhaps now is therefore a good time to remind ourselves of one of the best “non-politically correct” sketches featuring Terry Jones, which can be accessed at :-
