When Mr. Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson was first elected leader of the British Conservative Party – and thereby UK Prime Minister – we were initially filled with great hope and optimism. He after all had spearheaded the “Vote Leave” campaign which enabled Britain to escape from EU entanglement and was viewed by many as “Britain’s Donald Trump”. He was charismatic, humorous and an Old Etonian with a common touch. In short he seemed to be a true and ideal British patriot of the type which Britain sorely needed in these current troubled times.

Alas the first signs that he was not all which he seemed emerged immediately when he announced his first cabinet, as it was full of non-White foreigners – those whom Kipling accurately termed “the lesser breeds”. These people of course have no moral right to be in the country, let alone in the government! Johnson had evidently expressed the desire whilst a small child to become “King of the World”. He therefore perhaps thought that he was holding this hypothetical position when he formed his first cabinet, but alas the only result of this stupidity was to squander all the goodwill which he initially held from his natural support-base of British conservative patriots!

As his premiership progressed, however, he made two further fundamental errors which only confirmed that he was not suitable for the job. Firstly he went along with all the international hysteria regarding the so-called “Covid-19” pandemic, imposing lunatic “lockdowns” and insisting that people go around wearing ridiculous facemasks, instead of taking a far more measured and sane reaction to this new flu strain as the leaders of Sweden and Belarus did. The unnecessary economic and social disruptions to the country have been catastrophic of course – not only through the immediate cost-of-living crisis, but more significantly through all the long-term loans which were necessary in order to pay for all the astronomically high “furlough” payments and other unbudgeted benefits. These loans will of course take generations to pay back, and will mean that a decades-long economic depression faces the British people.

Johnson’s other fundamental error has been his biased and one-sided attitude towards the Russian/Ukrainian conflict, with seemingly no attempt being made to consider both sides of the story. Post-Brexit Russia was of course Britain’s most natural and beneficial ally on the European continent, but now alas this opportunity for a strong economic and security alliance has been destroyed. Britain’s energy and food supplies have therefore been severely restricted, and this of course only adds to country’s economic woes – both short-term and long-term. Mr. Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson will undoubtedly now go down into history as a tragic character of Shakespearian proportions.

But it is the resulting Conservative leadership election which is now of greatest concern. It seems as if every astonishing non-White Conservative MP has been infected with delusions of grandeur and has put their names forward to be next Conservative leader. This of course has made the Conservative Party a laughing-stock among the electorate as a whole, and as a result whoever emerges as leader – be they British or foreign – stands no chance of winning the next General Election. One is left wondering of course how these unqualified foreign nonentities were ever chosen as Conservative candidates in the first place, and were then elected by the Conservative-supporting electorate? All it means is that unless something is done fast to change the Party then the same fate will befall it as befell the Italian Christian Democrats and the French Gaullist RPR/UMP!

Although we are of course totally opposed to socialism and realise that the Labour Party is almost as badly infected with foreign MPs as the current Conservative Party, we even so believe that it is in Britain’s best interests that a General Election is held soon, and that the only viable alternative government, Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, is elected with a massive majority. This will give a five-year breathing space for either the Conservative Party to reform itself and to return to being a genuine British patriotic party as it was up until the premiership of Margaret Thatcher, or alternatively – perhaps preferably – for the various component parties which emerged from the collapse of UKIP to get their act together and to form a united and genuinely patriotic alternative party. ------------------------------------------------------------------

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club staged a most enjoyable and enthralling trip to the London Canal Museum last month. After viewing all the fascinating exhibits at the museum the Springbok Club party were treated to an enlightening tour of the nearby locality, where the organisation’s treasurer, Susan Gordon, described and explained some of the artistic sights of the area, before the party adjourned to a historic hostelry for a convivial ending to the day.

Alas the planned guest speaker for the Springbok Club’s annual Rhodes & Founders Day buffet-meeting will not be able to attend on the scheduled date after all, so the event has therefore had to be postponed, probably until August. The Springbok Club will still be celebrating Rhodes & Founders this year however, with an informal gathering to be held in the downstairs “Snug Room” of The Antelope, 22 Eaton Terrace, Belgravia, London SW1W 8EZ, during the evening of Thursday 21st July, at which a couple of members of the organisation with strong Rhodesian connections will be recounting something of their experiences of that great country.

If the Springbok Club’s buffet-meeting cannot be re-scheduled in August then the organisation will be staging a trip to the Hythe Venetian Fete in Kent later during that month. In September the organisation will be staging the annual “Raising of the Flag” ceremony, this time at a site associated with Lieut. E.C. “Teddy” Tindale-Biscoe RN, who of course first raised the Union Flag at the site which subsequently became Salisbury on 13th September 1890. It is believed that he is probably buried in a family plot in Oxfordshire, and if his grave can be located there then this is where this year’s ceremony will take place. If not then the ceremony will be held at Swanage in Dorset where he spent the final few years of his life and died. Further details about both these events will of course be given in next month’s SCN.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The Patriotic Forum is planning to hold a meeting to be addressed by a recently retired British Army officer during August. The organisation is also organising a meeting to be addressed by an eminent EuroSceptic activist during October. Details about both these events will of course be announced in future editions of the SCN once finalised.

HUMAN/LION CONFLICT MITIGATION PROJECT

We have recently been informed about an estimable initiative being mounted in Merrueshi, Kenya (pronounced ‘Keen-ya’) called the “Human/Lion Conflict Mitigation Project” which seeks to end the needless slaughter of Lions in Kenya by controlling the encroachment of human settlements onto the natural environment of the Lions. Inevitably this initiative has met with criticism from the egalitarian “politically correct” brigade who claim that it advocates population control in Kenya, but we believe that the protection of wild Lions in Africa is in the interests of all mankind, and therefore encourage full support for this campaign. MORE E.C.B. WITCH-HUNT MADNESS

Following the well-reported witch-hunt against Yorkshire C.C.C. by the trouble-making Pakistani cricketer with a chip on his shoulder, Azeem Rafiq, the England & Wales Cricket Board have now kow-towed to another bout of “politically correct” madness by suspending Mr. Chris Kelly, their Professional Umpires’ Manager.

So what was Chris Kelly’s “crime”? He evidently made the humorous remark that he could only see Devon Malcolm, a Negro former player, when he smiled. Although this was a rather feeble joke, the reaction to it by all normal and rational people would be to laugh – but to Devon Malcolm, rather like to Azeen Rafiq, any reference to his race seems to be regarded as an insult!

Devon Malcolm then went on to complain that no non-White professional umpires had been appointed to the ECB’s first-class panel since 1992, without seeming to comprehend that being a professional umpire is a very rigorous and intellectually challenging occupation which very few people – especially non-Whites – have the intellectual capacity and stamina to perform. Most bizarrely of all, however, Devon Malcolm complained that whilst taking his young son around the country to play in youth matches he never saw any other Black players. Does Mr. Malcolm not realise, we wonder, that Britain is a White man’s country, and that outside a few inner-city ghetto areas to view any Negro is a rarity?

We believe that both Azeem Rafiq and Devon Malcolm should stop trying to make martyrs of themselves and should shut up, and that Chris Kelly should be immediately reinstated to his former position and paid suitable compensation for his unjustified suspension.

THE U.K. THEME PATRIOTIC MEDLEY

A subscriber from Surrey has recently reminded us about the UK Theme Patriotic Medley which used to be played every morning before the start of the BBC’s Today radio programme. The UK Theme was a fantasia arranged by Fritz Spiegel of traditional tunes representing the four home countries of the United Kingdom, as well as the national maritime tradition. Alas the daily playing of this theme ceased in 2007 at the height of the “politically correct” era, but now is surely the time to mount a campaign to have it re-instated. Alex Cejnar was a most interesting character who was an early subscriber to S.A.Patriot magazine. Prior to the current crisis, prices for fuel and fertilizer had been rising. It was clear before COVID and the war in Ukraine that long global supply chains and dependency on (imported) inputs and fossil fuels made the prevailing food system vulnerable to regional and global shocks.

OBITUARIES

PHIL BENNETT

Philip “Phil” Bennett, who sadly died last month, was one of the greatest fly-halfs which the game of Rugby Union has ever produced.

He played 414 times for Llanelli (he was a “one-club man” at senior level), scoring 2.535 points, and played 29 times for Wales, scoring 181 points and captaining his country to three 5-nations championship titles. He also made 8 international appearances for the British Lions, captaining the team on their 1977 tour of New Zealand.

He had the unenviable task as succeeding the great Barry John as Wales and British Lions fly-half following Barry John’s unexpected – and many believe far too premature – retirement, but it is testament to the man’s talent that he eventually equaled the great man’s reputation, and indeed surpassed many of his achievements.

Phil Bennett played in two of the most famous games of all time, Llanelli’s 9-3 victory over the awesome New Zealand All Blacks in 1972, and the “greatest try of the century” Barbarians’ match against the same opposition in 1973, when he actually started the move which led to Gareth Edwards’ iconic try. But perhaps Phil Bennett’s greatest achievement was being part of the British Lions’ 1974 touring party to South Africa, “The Invincibles” when he played in all four Internationals. It should never be forgotten that all players selected for this touring party had to endure massive intimidate from far-Left quasi-terrorists if they agreed to show solidarity with their South African kith-and-kin by touring the country, and so all tour members therefore deserve to be remembered as noble heroes.

Probably the only stain on Phil Bennett’s Rugby career was the hysterical anti-English “motivational” speech which he gave as Welsh captain to his fellow team-members prior to the Wales v. England international in 1977. For a man who had played with such pride and distinction for the pro-Union British Lions such a rant was particularly unexpected, though to be fair he subsequently admitted that this diatribe was far too far “over the top”!

After his playing career was over he became a popular and respected media-man, both writing regular newspaper columns and working as a pundit for BBC Wales. He also proved to be a dedicated family man, and our sincere condolences are extended to his widow Pat and his two sons.

ANDY GORAM

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Andy Goram, the highly-talented Rangers and Scotland goalkeeper, at the tragically early age of only 58.

Although Andrew Lewis “Andy” Goram was born at Bury in Lancashire, and played for several soccer clubs in both England and Scotland, he gained international recognition for Scotland as a result of his Scottish parental roots. It was as a Rangers player that he is most famed however, playing for the club between 1991 and 1998 and fully embracing the club’s Loyalist ethos. He loved Northern Ireland and was a regular visitor to Belfast, where he expressed his full support for the Unionist cause. .

In total Andy Goram played 260 games for Rangers, being part of the Rangers squad which won five Scottish League titles, three Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups. He also played 43 international games for Scotland, being a member of the Scotland squad at two World Cups. The true worth of the man and his playing skills is demonstrated by the fact that he gained the nickname of simply “The Goalie” and by the fact that he was once voted Rangers’ greatest ever goalkeeper.

Andy Goram was also a gifted cricketer, being a fine left-hand batter and a useful right-arm medium pace bowler. He played for several clubs in both the Lancashire and Scottish leagues, and was also capped five times for Scotland, including against the 1989 touring Australians. He is the last person to have gained international honours for Scotland at both Association Football and Cricket.

Andy Goram was a great sportsman and a great British patriot, and deserves to be remembered with honour.

With all the other dramatic events dominating the world’s attention over the past couple of years – the Covid-1984 pandemic, Russia’s special military operation in the Ukraine and the tribulations of the British Royal Family – most have totally ignored what is very probably the most important development in current world affairs, namely the attempted expansionism of Communist China and the apparent resulting tensions and conflicts within the ruling Chinese Communist politburo.

The ascendancy of Xi Jinping – the suppressor of Tibet – in 2012 was something of a surprise to many China watchers, as he was clearly a compromise candidate agreed upon by the two major factions which had dominated the CCP up until that date. Xi soon consolidated power however, and although continuing with the economic liberalisation policies begun by Deng Xiaoping and then continued by Jiang Zemin, was clearly more interested in expanding Chinese power overseas and oppressing opponents at home. Xi has pursued naval expansionism into the South China Sea and has extended the brutal suppression tactics which he enacted in Tibet to other autonomous areas of the Chinese Communist state, most notably into Xinjiang (East Turkestan) and Hong Kong – but it is the ongoing threats made by the Xi gang to invade and then to incorporate Taiwan (the Republic of China) into the Communist state (the People’s Republic of China) which poses the greatest concern for world security.

Chine has never had any significant history of overseas imperialism, with Chinese expansionism in the past being restricted to neighbouring countries such as Tibet and Mongolia. During the immediate post-colonial era Communist China tried to make inroads into Africa however, but this proved a failure as so many Chinese officials simply became exasperated with the dimness and incompetence of the African Blacks. Of far more concern over recent years, however, has been Chinese economic expansionism into Australia (Australia is referred to as “New China” in many Chinese text books!), a worrying spectre which alas has been facilitated by many Australian politicians – and not only those from the ALP! A further attempted Chinese expansion into the Pacific area has happily been stymied however, as the Pacific island nations who China was avidly trying to woo have rejected the proposed “China-Pacific Island Countries Common Development Vision”.

But in spite of all of China’s attempted overseas expansionism Xi’s gang are facing severe problems at home, and rumours abound about internal divisions and plots within the ruling politburo. There are apparently three great headaches and areas of conflict confronting Xi’s regime: their wild over-reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, the devastating economic recession (caused mainly by their Covid over-reaction) and widescale opposition to Xi’s perceived support for Russian military action in the Ukraine. Already the Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yi, seems to have been side-lined as a result of his humiliating failure to finalise an agreement with the Pacific Island nations, and the position of Xi’s designated deputy, Li Keqiang, remains unclear. Of far greater concern to Xi and his gang, however, are the machinations of the protégés of Xi’s hated predecessor Hu Jintao.

The main worry about all the apparent plotting and intrigues surrounding Xi is that he will enact his long-threatened invasion of Taiwan in order to distract attention from his other worries, which he in any case probably considers it wise to initiate whilst the weak and cowardly Joe Biden is still in power in the U.S. A military invasion of Taiwan will probably also give the “green light” to the DPRK (whose leader Kim Jong-un is probably even more unhinged and unpredictable than Xi himself) to invade the Republic of Korea, and possibly also to launch nuclear attacks against Japan - and then the whole of eastern Asia will be engulfed in a nuclear apocalypse!

Most - though sadly not all - Westerners are aware of the great threats to Western Civilisation posed by expansionist Islam, regrettably not so many are aware of the equally insidious threat posed by the “Yellow Peril” from the East. As the potential for global Armageddon increases as a result of the instability in China it is important that all Western powers – and by Western powers we include Russia – increase their military spending massively, and prepare for the worst.

The Springbok Club will be staging a trip to the London Canal Museum (12/13 New Wharf Road, London N1 9RT) on Saturday 11th June. Assemble at The Miller;s Pub, 19 Caledonian Road, London N1 9DX (nearest station: Kings Cross/St.Pancras) at approximately 14.00 hrs, from where the party will set off for the museum at 14.30 hrs. There will be an admission charge of £5.00 at the museum (£4.00 for concessions). After the visit the party will adjourn to an adjacent hostelry for a convivial ending to the day, and where Susan Gordon will give a short talk about the history of the area, including that of a most interesting near-by wall mural.

In August the Kent Branch of the Springbok Club will be staging a trip to the Hythe Venetian Fete, and in September the organisation will be staging the annual “Raising of the Flag” ceremony, this time at the grave of Lieut. E.C. “Teddy” Tindale-Biscoe RN in Oxfordshire, who of course first raised the Union Flag at the site which subsequently became Salisbury on 13th September 1890.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The Patriotic Forum held a most enjoyable and informative meeting last month – the first “live” meeting which the organisation had been able to hold since before all the “lockdown” lunacy began. This meeting was addressed by Ms. Hayley de Ronde, who had previously spoken at a most enlightening and well-received Patriotic Forum Zoom meeting. Hayley de Ronde, who holds a BTEC National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in animal management, and is an expert in zoonoses, zoobiquity and zoopharmacognosy (the sciences relating to the similarities between human and animals and how diseases transmit between them) gave a very well-informed but down-to-earth talk in which she explained why the Covid-19 virus was simply a variant of all the other influenza-type viruses, and that its severity had been greatly exaggerated. She also explained why the wearing of facemasks actually caused more potential harm to wearers than any alleged benefit which they may have provided, and why all the other draconian “lockdown” measures were basically useless as it was totally impossible to eliminate any virus once it had mutated, and that the only preventive measures which would have any effect were the regular washing of hands and allowing air to circulate more effectively by opening windows. Her speech however was basically very optimistic about the future, as she explained how the production of natural bodily antibodies would increasingly curtail the Covid-19 virus, and how, like all other viruses, it would eventually simply mutate itself out of existence.

“In Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe, the Bumi Hills Anti-Poaching Unit (BHAPU) - a small but fiercely dedicated anti-poaching unit - faces a mammoth task. The team is responsible for protecting 3,500 elephants in the area from violent ivory poachers. BHAPU cannot do this without a patrol vehicle, and theirs has reached the end of its life.

”The team can expect no help from the authorities because the economy is in terrible trouble and there is simply no money. The BHAPU team kept their old vehicle going as long as they could, but now it is beyond repair; its engine, suspension and steering have all succumbed to a long lifetime of crashing through the African bush in pursuit of animal killers.

“A vehicle is absolutely critical for their patrols. BHAPU has turned to ASI supporters, pleading to help buy a new one because each day they are unable to patrol is another day that elephants face brutal slaughter by poachers.

“The Bumi Hills Anti-Poaching Unit must fight, every single day, to save the 3,500 elephants in their care. We hope to raise $20,000 (£15,000) towards a new patrol vehicle - critical in the fight against the Chinese-driven wildlife trade.

“So often in our work we face the ugly truth that much of the killing is driven by Chinese criminal syndicates seeking ivory. In Zimbabwe they are well on their way to destroying Zimbabwe’s elephant population. It is estimated that 75% of the region’s elephants have fallen victims to poaching in the last 15 years. If the scourge continues at this rate, the entire population could be wiped out within the next five years.

“In partnership with Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, BHAPU is the region’s best defense against poachers. The team has done such good work that poaching in its area is under control, for the moment, but BHAPU must have a vehicle to continue conducting vital patrols in the conservancy’s huge expanse of 580 square miles (1,500 square kilometers).

”With each passing day, poachers become smarter, stealthier and deadlier - not only to the animals but to our teams. Poachers do not hesitate to kill those protecting elephants and the BHAPU team put their lives on the line trying to keep poachers at bay. Yet regular patrols are critical and that's where the use of the patrol vehicle comes in. Our team can cover much more ground, much more quickly and also find the thousands of snares set by poachers more easily.

“Poachers are prowling for vulnerable wildlife as you read these words! We cannot delay getting a patrol vehicle because every hour counts in the fight to save elephants!”

GRAVE MISTAKE BY THE ALL ENGLAND LAWN TENNIS CLUB

The decision by the All England Lawn Tennis Club (or to give them their full name, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club), backed-up by the Lawn Tennis Association, to bar Russian and Belarusian players from competing in this year’s All England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon must be roundly condemned, and the resulting decisions by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) to suspend ranking points from this tournament must be applauded.

Firstly it is surely impossible to justify the barring of some of the world’s leading players such as Daniil Medvedev, Andrev Rublev, Victoria Azarenka and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova simply because of the perceived actions of certain politicians and military leaders from their own countries, and secondly – as this action has apparently been made purely as a result of the current Russian-Ukrainian military conflict – it must be asked why only Russian and Belarusian players have been barred, and not also those from the Ukraine?

For several decades now the All England Lawn Tennis Championships (often, but erroneously, referred to as “The Wimbledon Championships”) have declined in importance on the two Lawn Tennis circuits compared to the other three Grand Slam tournaments, mainly it is believed because of the lack of investment and the insularity of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. This latest unilateral and unjustifiable action of theirs can therefore only accelerate this decline – and they will only have themselves to blame.

James J. Cummings jnr. became a subscriber to the original S.A.Patriot during the mid-1980s. He came from Niles in Illinois in the United States, though it is unknown how he first came to hear about the magazine. Very little else is known about him, although it is believed that he worked for a local newspaper. Recently his copies of The Imperial Patriot have been returned by the postal services however, as he is evidently no longer resident at his last known address. It was with great pleasure that I recently read that Dr.Pauline Webb had died. It was my misfortune to hear her preach at Bath a few years ago, her sermon being littered with anti-White vitriol! It did not surprise me therefore when I researched her background and found that she has been banned from entering South Africa because whilst working as an official of the quasi-Communist “World Council of Churches” she had arranged for donations (which of course came from church-goers collections!) to be made to the ANC and other terrorist organisations! These contributions were accurately termed “Blood Money” by one British newspaper!

During her diabolical sermon she actually praised a fellow Methodist minister for joining “Kenneth Kaunda’s party” (she didn’t even seem to know its name – The United National Independence Party!) whilst working in Zambia (Northern Rhodesia). This fellow Methodist minister was undoubtedly the equally notorious Colin Morris (another disgrace to Methodism!) who acted as mentor and advisor to the tyrant Kaunda. Even more disgustingly I saw her making a sexually suggestive gesture during her sermon. I doubt whether many people in the congregation knew what this gesture meant – but I did! I don’t know whether this gesture indicated that she had sexual fantasies about Colin Morris – or perhaps about Kenneth Kaunda?

Webb’s terrorist-loving pronouncements undoubtedly enraged the wrath of the Lord, and she must now be in a far darker place down below!

( Having had a look at the Wikipedia article about Keith/Kerry Bolton I was shocked. We established good and friendly long-distance contact with him during the early 1980s, and this contact was maintained for most of that decade. Although clearly to the right of the political spectrum, he never gave any indication of being "off the edge" in any way, and indeed seemed to be on much the same political wavelength as we were ourselves. It is therefore very difficult to believe what is written about him on Wikipedia, which has a strong ring of unreality about it, and thus seems to be nothing more than a bizarre "hatchet job". The number of books which it is claimed Bolton has written - and in such a short time period - seems unbelievable. Add to this the fact that New Zealand has such a relatively small population, and one not particularly noted for such extreme esoteric interests, and it is therefore very difficult to fathom out where his sales would have come from! The Wikipedia article itself admits that he's been involved in many controversies, so my guess therefore is that a political (or personal) enemy has simply managed to plant this entry as a way-out farcical smear-job against him.- Ed.)

OBITUARY

LESTER PIGGOTT

Lester Piggott, who sadly died last month aged 86, was undoubtedly the greatest flat jockey of his generation.

His achievements on the turf – 30 Classic wins including nine Derbys, and a total 4,493 wins in Britain – didn’t tell the full story however. He overcame great handicaps in order to fulfill his Racing ambitions, as he was born deaf in one ear and with a speech impediment, and at 5 foot 7 inches he was unusually tall for a flat jockey, which meant that he constantly had to be on a strict diet in order to make the weights. His natural horsemanship and charismatic persona soon made him a national icon however, and his very personality endeared many new converts to the attractions of Horse Racing and intelligent betting.

Alas his otherwise glorious life was marred by a criminal conviction for income tax evasion This misdemeanour was probably more due to a miserly attitude towards money rather than a deliberate intention to defraud the inland revenue however, and his conviction was also not helped by apparent bad legal advice. After release from a year’s imprisonment he soon bounced back however, and even resumed his jockeying career even though well over 50!

Lester Piggott was such a highly respected jockey that his services were sought after around the world. He was most notably prepared to visit South Africa several times during the era of civilised rule, including participating in a spectacular international race meeting at the Greyville course in Durban during the early 1980s, thus bravely defying the United Nations “blacklist” of sportsmen and women who were prepared to participate in sporting events in the country. For this courageous act he should surely be praised.

Our sincere sympathies are extended to his widow and his three children.

As if the Western World hasn’t had enough problems and disasters to cope with over the past couple of years, the results of this year’s Northern Ireland Assembly elections have only added to the seeming death-wish which has engulfed Western civilization.

Although it was widely predicted that Sinn Fein/IRA would top the polls, it seemed impossible to believe that a party with origins dripping with the blood of innocents would manage to gain such massive support in the cradle of Western civilization. But SF/IRA’s “victory” wasn’t as straight-forward as it was portrayed by most of the mainstream media. Although they emerged as the largest party as far as seats and first-preference votes were concerned, they did not win anywhere near a majority of seats or first-preference votes – indeed their number of seats at 27 remained static and their first-preference votes only increased by a minimal 1.1%. Furthermore, as the turnout dropped to only 63.6 % this means that in reality the largest party was the “Stay At Home Party”!

There were some other important statistics which should be born in mind. Although the SF/IRA percentage vote rose minimally, the total republican vote (SF/IRA plus SDLP) declined by 1.8%. Also, although the percentage vote of both of the two main Unionist parties (DUP and UUP) declined somewhat, the vote of the hard-line Traditional Unionist Voice party saw its percentage vote rise by 7.6% - and there were also two Independent Unionist candidates who were elected. The biggest winner however was the liberal Alliance Party, who although officially non-partisan in reality takes far more votes from naïve Unionists than from nationalist voters. It was the Alliance Party therefore who gave SF/IRA their sickening “victory”, rather than the terrorist-apologists themselves. Quite clearly therefore the virus of liberalism is an even more insidious threat to civilization and decency in Northern Ireland than the more overt evil of support for terrorism!

So what for the future? In spite of SF/IRA’s apparent triumph, opinion polls still suggest that approximately 70% of the electorate would vote for Northern Ireland to retain its natural place as an integral part of the United Kingdom. It is furthermore quite obvious that a party with terrorist roots can never be allowed to provide the First Minister of Northern Ireland, regardless of the outcome of the Protocol dispute with the EU. The whole ridiculous power-sharing executive arrangement is therefore doomed for failure in the long run, and a more logical and democratic governing structure must be re-established.

In the short-term, however, another Assembly election seems almost certain to have to be called within six months, and regardless of the situation concerning the power-sharing executive it is essential that Northern Ireland’s good name is restored by ensuring that SF/IRA are not allowed to emerge again as the largest party. In order to do this all Unionist leaders and their parties must be prepared to swallow their pride and to enter into unity negotiations. Both the combined DUP and UUP vote, and the combined DUP and TUV plus Independent Unionist votes exceed that of the plateauing SF/IRA vote. Probably a merger between the DUP and the TUV and some Independent Unionists would be the ideal alternative, as this would allow the more middle-class UUP to concentrate upon winning back those naïve Unionists who were taken in by the Alliance “useful idiots”. As for Naomi Long, she should surely retire from politics and embark upon a career advertising the successes of Weight-Watcher diets.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club staged a trip to the Museum of London Docklands last month, which as it took place on April 23rd gave all attendees the opportunity to celebrate St.George’s/Sigurd’s Day in a convivial atmosphere after the visit! The Museum itself proved fascinating, telling the story of the London Docks and their vital role in Britain’s trading ascendancy from the vision and financing of Robert Milligan who formed the London Dock Company in 1800, and who with the aid of the engineers and architects John Rennie, Hugh McIntosh and Patrick Colquhoun initiated the construction of the West India Docks shortly thereafter, through to the advent of containerisation and the closedown of the Docks. Poignantly this trip took place shortly after the statue to Robert Milligan which stood outside the museum was removed by anti-British political extremists, but a huge picture of this statue still adorns a near-by wall, and it was here that the Springbok Club party paid tribute to this great British hero.

The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club recently staged a trip to the famous Rochester Sweeps Festival, where they enjoyed witnessing all the performances of traditional British folk music and Morris Dancing taking place. It was at this festival in 1994 where the Rochester Declaration which pledged “continuing determination to work for the re-establishment of civilised rule in the African continent” was first signed by supporters of the White Rhino Club.

Hayley de Ronde gave a highly informative and extremely well-received talk at a Patriotic Forum Zoom meeting in February 2021. She founded and administered the acclaimed FaceBook page “Covid-19 Logic vs Strategy” which took an objective, logical and questioning attitude towards the pandemic and the measures being taken to counteract it, though alarmingly this page was removed by the FaceBook authorities because it apparently didn’t comply with current political orthodoxy.

Hayley de Ronde is a professional animal worker who specialises in animal behaviour, health and welfare, and holds a BTEC National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in animal management. She is also an expert in zoonoses, zoobiquity and zoopharmacognosy (the sciences relating to the similarities between human and animals and how diseases transmit between them), and so is therefore well qualified to speak about the true extent and severity of the “Wuhan Flu” pandemic, and the resulting panic and hysteria.

“Africa’s cheetah population has drastically declined. It’s estimated that only about 7,000 remain in the wild (just 1,300 in South Africa). They have been reduced from eight species to just one. They can only be found on 10% of their historical range. In just one African country, Somaliland, at least 300 cheetah cubs are smuggled and sold every year.

“It should comee as no surprise that the cheetah is today listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Ed list of threatened Species, and you can be certain that Animal Survival International (ASI) is committed to using all its power to help save the cheetah in South Africa.

“While South Africa is recognized as the only country in the world with an increasing population of cheetahs - there remains massive reason for concern. Indeed, intensive conservation programs have helped the cheetah population in South Africa increase from approximately 500 in 1975 to a little more than twice this number today - this is progress, but it has taken 45 years!

“Contrast the number of cheetahs today with the more than 100,000 cheetahs who once roamed the African bush!

“Cheetahs are threatened and at risk of extinction for several reasons:

They are caught and sold alive into the exotic pet market, poached for their skin, illegally trophy hunted, and subject to the unrelenting destruction of their habitat.

“On top of all these pressures, scientists warn that cheetah reproduction is being considerably slowed because of climate change. Due to warmer temperatures, male cheetah’s testosterone levels have been reducing and sperm counts 10 times lower than that of domestic cats are being found.

“Add to all of this the challenge of ensuring species diversification (and avoiding inbreeding), which are critical to maintaining a healthy population. Relocation of the cats across South Africa’s provinces is essential, and already underway, to advance diversification of the cheetah gene pool and help save the species.

“Recently, South African National Parks (SANParks) appealed to ASI for help purchasing two hi-tech cheetah tracking collars for use at Mountain Zebra National Park (MZNP). A female cheetah is about to be relocated to the park (where her future breeding partner is already a resident) to expand the genetics of the cheetah population in the park. Understandably, time is of the essence - we need to obtain and fit the collars as soon as possible.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRITISH CYCLING

British Cycling (the main governing body for cycle sport in Great Britain) is to be congratulated upon banning all biological men from competing in women’s competition.

In any more sane era of history such a decision would be so blindingly obvious that it would be laughable to think that any other decision could even be considered – but alas in the global madness of the 2020s such illogical nonsense has been embraced by many sporting authorities. Already over recent years we have seen the obscenities of a man being allowed to compete in a women’s Weight-Lifting event at the Tokyo Olympics, a man being allowed to compete in a US college swimming competition, and a man being allowed to play in a women’s County Cricket team. It is not only the sportswomen themselves who are being insulted and harmed by such lunatic decisions, but all sporting enthusiasts of both sexes who are denied the chance to see sportswomen competing on a level playing field .

But this is not purely a problem for sport. It is a problem for the whole of society. If one has two X sex chromosomes then one is female. If one has an X and a Y chromosome then one is male. Period. To be sure there are occasionally genetic abnormalities and people are born with an extra chromosome, and when this results in two X chromosomes and one Y then the person is “intersex”, or a hermaphrodite. Such chromosomic abnormalities are very, very rare however, and the vast majority of non-women who try to identify themselves as women are simply perverted deviants in dire need of psychiatric treatment. Those who are “intersex” or hermaphrodite (i.e. have XXY sex chromosomes) should be treated with sympathy and understanding of course, but the latest scientific evidence shows that biologically they have more male than female physiological characteristics. It is clear therefore that all those who possess a Y chromosome – regardless of whether they have an extra X chromosome or not – should be regarded as male, and therefore should only be allowed to compete in men’s sporting events.

No.282 - Mr. BILLY KING of Glasgow and Durban.

William “Billy” King hailed from the west coast of Scotland, but emigrated to South Africa during the 1970s, where he took up a position as a Supervisor in the Durban City Council’s Works and Maintenance Deportment. He was a keen (though not fanatical) supporter of Rangers F.C., and although small in statue still proved to be a much sought-after player in the Durban Sunday Soccer League. He was a jolly and friendly person with a mischievous streak (he once posed naked for a team photo!) and was very popular among the expat’ community. He joined the Durban Branch of the Rangers F.C. Supporters Association shortly after it was formed in the late 1970s, and rose to become Chairman. Unfortunately however certain monies which he had collected for one of the Branch’s dinner and draw went missing, and although it was not thought that this was deliberate theft (more a result of his disorganized personal finances) this still proved a very difficult situation for the Branch, and he resigned as a result. It would still however be very interesting to learn what became of him.

For 25 years (beginning in 1995), I worked on the front lines as an ad hoc nurse during the HIV/AIDS outbreak. Given the bizarre characteristics of this wildly unstable Wuhan virus, I believe that the findings presented in the article which was re-circulated via the Patriotic Forum Circulation Service are probably generally correct.

As a former volunteer HIV nurse, I can say firsthand that Dr. Fauci was one of many profiteers during the AIDS crisis because I was standing there when money was siphoned off to ‘elites’ who could not have cared less about the suffering of the ill they claimed to care about. Like today, Dr. Fauci portrayed himself as an all-knowing saint, but was in reality one of many 'doctors' profiting off of so many expensive programmes which were invented to bring the AIDS crisis into containment. Sadly, little of this is new.

As time-tested medications are restricted in many countries in favour of these untested vaccines, and as time-tested pain medications are also vastly restricted in America and forbidden from patients who could again become fully-functional members of society and engage in work, the goal gain-of-function research and forcing patients into unwarranted suffering by restricting time-tested pain medications is clear:

Our global ‘elites’ not only want to know where you are at all times, but they want you to suffer just enough so that you have to stay home and accept a government pittance rather than exercise the talents which God gave you. It is sin and evil in Biblical proportions, and the saddest thing is that none of this is new at all. This is a game which Dr. Fauci has been playing for decades, and modern medicine marched right along with him as the suffering escalated.

This must be stopped, even if it requires an uprising and parents must realise what these vaccines might do to their children who (under normal health) have a remote chance of serious illness or death from this Frankenstein illness.

THE PINETOWN PICTORIAL AND S.A.PATRIOT

We were recently reminded of a very encouraging event which happened shortly after S.A.Patriot magazine was launched in 1980, when an article from the first ever edition of the magazine, “The Lesson of Zimbabwe”, was reproduced with full acknowledgements in The Pinetown Pictorial. This was a local “freebee” newspaper with a print-run of 141,000 which was distributed throughout Pinetown and other municipalities to the west of Durban – and this unexpected free publicity certainly put S.A.Patriot firmly on the map in Natal! Evidently this re-printed article caused some controversy with a few of its more liberal readers, but now some 42 years later it can be seen that it was truly prophetic.

The managing director of The Pinetown Pictorial at the time was Norman Reeves (see obituary in the February 2008 Edition of the SCN – though we have subsequently learnt that prior to serving in the SADF special forces he had served in both the British and Rhodesian armies). Norman Reeves sold his stake in The Pinetown Pictorial shortly after re-publishing this article, and dropped out entirely from patriotic activity during the 1980s, even though this of course was the most vital period in South African history. He also surprisingly decided to remain in the “new” South Africa after the ANC terrorists were handed power. He founded his own private security company during the 1990s, which evidently proved far more effective in fighting crime than the SAPS, but died towards the end of 2007, officially from a heart attack, but he had evidently been badly beaten up by ANC thugs shortly before this.

For those readers who no longer possess copies of early editions of S.A.Patriot, the prophetic article which Norman Reeves re-printed in The Pinetown Pictorial in 1980 read as follows :-

“THE LESSON OF ZIMBABWE

“The term ‘Zimbabwe’ has historically referred to that mysterious set of stone ruins in South-East Mashonaland. The new so-called state of ‘Zimbabwe’ is therefore very appropriately named; before too long that area of land between the Limpopo and the Zambezi which formerly constituted the great nation of Rhodesia will follow the path of all other Black-ruled countries from Haiti onwards and become an absolute ruin

“If the tragedy of Rhodesia has any lesson to teach South Africa it must surely be this; that there is no such thing as moderate Black rule – the Muzorewa ‘Zimbabwe/Rhodesia’ fiasco has undoubtedly shown to all but the most ostrich-like creatures that change, compromise and appeasement leads only to total Marxist-ruled doom.

“As soon as the Rhodesian Whites voted for so-called ‘moderate’ Black rule on 30th January 1979 it was as obvious as the fact that night follows day to all who had even a cursory knowledge of the history of Black Africa that sooner or later the ‘Roosters’ would come home to roost.

“Now the orchestrators of mass sadistic murders like Mugabe and the laughing gooks like Nkomo hold power and authority over the lives of the few misguided Whites who still remain in the country.

“Pathetically the attempt is now being made by some self-proclaimed Rhodesian patriots to put all the blame for the fall of their country onto the South Africans and the British (who inexplicably are supposed to be represented by the nationally unpopular and repulsive personage of pro-EEC traitor ‘Fatty’ Soames). Nothing, however, is ever said about the fact that it was South Africa who acted as the sole life-line for Rhodesia during the years of UDI, or that it was British companies like Shell and BP (as well as numerous other still undisclosed smaller supporting concerns) who kept Rhodesia supplied with her vital requirements in brave defiance of ‘sanction’ legislation. Make no mistake, both of these sources of support would have continued indefinitely had the Rhodesian people showed the slightest sign of a continued will to maintain their independence.

“The real perpetrators of the defeat of Rhodesia were none other than the White electorate of that country themselves. On January 30th 1979 they had a simple ‘Yes/No’ choice between either a Black governmental disaster or the continuation of civilised rule. For no explicable reason they (or 85.4% of them at any rate) voted for the former national suicide option. Robert Mugabe won his real triumph at the polls not during February 1980 but in January 1979 when victory was presented to him on a plate by the Whites. Let us hope and pray that the South African electorate never falls victim to the same bout of astonishing mass insanity.”

In the UK at least, all Covid-1984 restrictions have now been lifted, and the Boris Johnson Government has stated “Britain must learn to live with Covid-19”. We fully agree! Our only criticism is that this statement should have been made in early 2020, rather than early 2022!

It should never be forgotten of course that the Covid-19 virus is simply a variant of the standard influenza virus, and that has been with us ever since human life began on earth! It should also not be forgotten that prior to the fancy name of “Covid-19” being coined for this current variant it was simply known as “Wuhan Flu”. It may have been slightly nastier than other flu variants and somewhat more contagious, but at the end of the day it was just another strain of the influenza virus, something which mankind has lived with for millennia, without any tyrannical authorities demanding that people wear ridiculous face masks or stand 6 feet away from their fellow human-beings – let alone a closedown all facets of human activity!

A more worrying aspect of the paranoia being peddled by the authorities over the past two years has been the recent revelation following a Freedom of Information request that from the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020 until 31st December 2021 only 6,182 people died in England-and-Wales from the virus. The much-bandied figure of over 150,000 deaths referred to those who died with Covid, not from it. These deaths include many who died from heart attacks and strokes where the presence of the Covid infection clearly didn’t contribute in any way to the death, and in at least one notorious case a death from a road accident was also recorded as a “Covid death”! This revelation of course simply confirms the observations of undertakers up and down the country that there had been no noticeable increase in the seasonal totals of deaths - in spite of all the additional deaths caused by the direct effects of the “lockdown” restrictions, most notably increased suicides.

Quite clearly therefore the severity of the Covid-19 virus has been wildly exaggerated – indeed we have been totally lied to about its danger by the medical authorities. By so doing Britain and the rest of the West have endured two years of economic disaster, and our children have been denied two years of proper education. The current cost of living crisis and increased taxation have been directly caused by all this lunacy, and this is going to take decades – if not generations – to be rectified. Those responsible for all this scare-mongering, all the way from the medicrats at the top such as “Sir” Chris “Dim” Whitty, right down to all the self-appointed “Little Hitlers” who have confronted law-abiding citizens asking why they aren’t wearing ridiculous face-masks or standing 6 feet away from their fellow human-beings, must surely one day be held to account.

Much play has recently been made of the fact that staff at No.10 Downing Street held work-related parties contrary to the lunatic Covid regulations. Unlike many we do not condemn those who participated in such parties – indeed we say “Good luck to them!”. Our condemnation is reserved for those scumbags who introduced such draconian and totally irrational restrictions in the first place. Not only do we support the rights of the No.10 party-goers, but we also DEMAND that all those who have been charged and fined for breaking the unjustified “lockdown” laws should be given unreserved pardons and awarded appropriate financial compensation!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club’s 2022 AGM, held last month, proved to be quite a successful occasion, in spite of the fact that the venue had to be slightly changed at the last minute and the turnout was consequently somewhat lower than hoped and anticipated. A replacement committee member was elected following the sad death of a long-standing committee member last year, and a number of minor motions were debated and voted upon. More importantly, however, a schedule of activities for the next few months was decided upon, which are detailed below. After the business side of affairs was completed Mr. Gary Vincent gave another of his fascinating PowerPoint presentations, this one being about the history of our brother Commonwealth country New Zealand from the first voyages of discovery by Capt. James Cook until the establishment of the New Zealand Company and first colonial settlements in 1839/40.

On Saturday 23rd April – St.George’s/Sigurd’s Day – the Springbok Club will be staging a visit to the Museum of London Docklands, No.1 Warehouse, West India Quay, London, E14 4AL. The main reason for this trip is to pay our respects to the memory of that great British hero, Robert Milligan, who planned and financed the construction of London’s West India Docks. Disgustingly a statue of Robert Milligan was removed from its historic position outside the Museum by enemies of our country a couple of years ago, but happily other commemorative memorials to the great man still remain near-by. The Springbok Club party will be assembling at “The Ledger Building” (a Wetherspoons pub) which is situated next-door to the museum at 4 Hertsmere Road, West India Quay, London E14 4AL (nearest stations: West Ferry and West India Quay on the DLR) between 13.30 hrs and 14.30 hrs. ‘Phone: 07711188430 if you have any problems finding this location. After the visit to the Museum of London Docklands the party will be returning to “The Ledger Building” for a convivial celebration of St.George’s/Sigurd’s Day.

There has been much discussion within the Patriotic Forum committee about whether to pay the rather extortionate annual fee of £140.00 in order to renew our Zoom facility, or whether to forgo Zoom meetings and to resume “live” meetings in the London area instead. An AGM of the organisation is therefore being planned for May in order to discuss this matter and other subjects relating to future activities, and the full arrangements regarding this AGM will of course be detailed in next month’s SCN. If any supporter – particularly those based overseas – would be keen for the Patriotic Forum to resume Zoom meetings, and could help to raise the necessary £140.00 annual fee for this facility, then the details about how to make a financial contribution can be found at the end of this edition of the SCN.

RUSSIA’S SPORTING SITUATION

One of the worst side-effects of the current tragic military conflict between Russia and the Ukraine has been the way in which Russian and Belarusian sportsmen and sportswomen have been victimised by many international sporting authorities – in some cases by not allowing them to compete under their national banners, and in others by barring them from competing entirely! This surely is contrary to all tenants of natural justice. It is the politicians and military leaders who are responsible for the present tragic crisis, not the sportsmen and women!

Furthermore, why is it only the Russian and Belarusian sportsmen and sportswomen who are being victimised in this way? Why not the Ukrainian sportsmen and women also? By taking such a biased one-sided stance regarding the sorry conflict the authorities in question do themselves no favours whatsoever, and indeed probably harden attitudes even further. Either competitors from both sides should be restricted, or none at all. Needless to say we would far prefer the latter!

But alas this hasn’t been the first recent example where Russia has been singled-out for sporting punishment. During the past Olympic and Paralympic cycle Russians have not been allowed to compete under their national flag and national anthem in all major global sporting competitions. This has allegedly been because Russia was accused of state-sponsored dopping violations, even though nothing more than circumstantial evidence has ever been produced, and Russian competitors haven’t exactly been producing consistent world-beating performances – certainly not in comparison to competitors from the old GDR during the Cold War!

All these irrational and unjustified witch-hunts against Russian and Belarusian sportsmen and women must cease – for if such an olive-branch was to be extended then it might go some way towards halting the current tragic conflict in the Ukraine.

BBC PROGRAMME ABOUT MARY WHITEHUSE

The recent 2-part BBC2 programme about Mary Whitehouse, the doughty moral crusader from the 1960s and 70s, “Banned: The Mary Whitehouse Story” made fascinating viewing. Although on the face of it Mary Whitehouse was not successful, as she failed to stamp out the scourge of obscenity and sexual perversions which prevailed in the Western World at the time, as the programme vividly demonstrated she definitely came down on the right side of history!

Clearly Mary Whitehouse had the wrong image – that of a middle-class schoolmistress (which indeed she was!), and also surrounded herself with the wrong people, such as the Moors-murderess-apologist Lord Longford, the irascible Roman Catholic-convert Malcolm Muggeridge and – most sickening of all – the race-traitor and child-molester Bishop Trevor Huddleston. She also made a great mistake by linking her estimable campaigns too closely to her own Christian religion. All decent people, of all religions and of none, are of course equally opposed to the evils of pornography and sexual depravity.

But what was pointed out by this programme was that now – some 50 years later – it is obvious that the “permissive society”, which Mary Whitehouse campaigned so valiantly against, has been the direct cause of violence against women and child abuse. As she rightly argued all those years ago, pornography simply degrades and exploits women, and one sexual perversion such as homosexuality inevitably leads to another such as paedophilia.

It is strange therefore that at the time most feminists opposed and belittled Mary Whitehouse, whereas in reality she was the original stereo defender of women’s rights. If her campaigns against pornography had been totally effective then almost certainly Sarah Everard would still be alive today. We need another Mary Whitehouse to emerge today therefore – but this time with a better image and with none of her self-defeating faults.

No.281 - Ms. ROSEMARY SISSONS of Melbourne, Australia.

Rosemary Sissons ran an organisation called the National Fronts of Australia and New Zealand during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and also produced their interesting little publication. It initially seemed that their movement held similar neo-Imperialist views to our own, and so S.A.Patriot arranged a reciprocal exchange of publications with them. Alas copies of the NFANZ’s publication ceased to arrive after a while, even though we continued to honour our side of the agreement. Even more disturbing was the fact that an article in the final edition which we received seemed to suggest that they supported political enemies of ours. In spite of continuing to honour our side of the reciprocal exchange agreement the latest couple of copies of The Imperial Patriot which we’ve sent to Rosemary Sissons have now been returned to us, as she is evidently no longer known at her last known address in Melbourne. It would be very interesting to learn what has happened to her and the NFANZ therefore, and also exactly what their political position really was.

Post Brexit Britain :-

1 After Brexit why is the government still complying with EU set targets on CO2 levels? I have just re-read Christopher Booker's Book "The Real Global Warming Disaster". In this he documents the history of the IPCC's total manipulation of statistical facts concerning global warming. it's publication of lies and untruths about global warming scenarios and its continuous rejection of views expressed by scientists with the authority and experience of their particular subjects which conflict with the IPCC's mantra of proving that AGW is a catastrophe that is about to happen. The government must abolish the mad rush to reduce CO2 levels which is totally non-achievable, un-workable, un-economic and unacceptable as soon as possible.

2 Another failure is the government's failure to delete VAT on energy prices and to close down efficient and cheap to run coal fired power stations - again, to meet EU standards.

3 Why has the government not abolished the CPC for HGV drivers? This again was introduced by EU legislation and was and is totally unnecessary as all lorry drivers are full time professional drivers. If we have 250,000 lorry drivers in the UK the CPC requirement takes 250,000 delivery weeks out of the total.every 5 years. This amounts to 50,000 delivery weeks lost every year. With 50 weeks in the year this amounts to losing 1,000 lorry drivers from the workforce. The costs of all this lost manpower to the UK public must be horrific.

There are many more examples of stupid EU rules which are still being applied by our corrupt civil service.

LESSONS NOT LEARNT

Sir,

Following the Belgians’ overnight departure from the neighboring Congo, a large-scale cross-border invasion took place into North-Eastern area of Portuguese Angola by terrorist gangs intent on occupying the region. The area was poorly served by road communications and was thinly populated by small, hard-scrabble farms settled by Portuguese immigrants who had been enticed to Africa in the hope of making better lives for themselves. Servicing these agriculturalists were a number of [then] small towns and villages, all but the largest of which comprised a couple of general stores, a garage or two, police station and post office. Portuguese military forces in Angola at the time were relatively small and their internal and external military intelligence capability was both risible and negligent. Only the larger settlements held out desperately until reinforcements could be hastily thrown together and sent up-country. Portuguese men, women and children and their loyal African employees were butchered out of hand - typically using machetes. In one particularly shocking episode, Portuguese women were brutalized and fed through the circular saw at a sawmill. The events of the Congo and Angola can also be said to have helped to inform socio-political values among both Blacks and Whites in countries such as Rhodesia and South Africa at the time. Blacks - that violence is a viable alternative to negotiation. Whites - that anarchy and violence lurk just beneath the surface in Africa

THE END OF AN ATTEMPTED REBELLION

Long-standing readers of the SCN will no doubt remember the crisis which the Swinton Circle (one of the component organizations which subsequently merged to form today’s Patriotic Forum) faced in 2008. In a nutshell, certain trouble-making extremists started attending Swinton Circle meetings and caused great problems by aggressive (and in one case totally deranged) questioning of guest speakers, and also by verbally abusing other attendees. It was decided by committee members that the three trouble-makers in question should be barred from attending future meetings, but in July 2008 all three of them turned up, and when asked to leave caused a nasty confrontation .The then Organiser of the Swinton Circle, Mr. Allan Robertson, then commenced the meeting unilaterally with the three barred attendees still present, and it subsequently transpired that Robertson was in league with them and was attempting to facilitate their takeover of the entire organisation. After this he staged an unconstitutional kangaroo court in a ham-fisted attempt to remove the Chairman and some other Committee members (see August 2008 SCN).

A fully constitutional EGM was subsequently called by loyal members of the Committee in January 2009, whereat a motion to expel Robertson and two of his close associates from the organisation was passed (two abstentions, no votes against). Robertson and his two associates – who had all been invited to attend the EGM, though none of them turned up – were however given 30 days to appeal against their expulsions, but none availed themselves of this opportunity, and so in February 2009 their expulsions became absolute (see February 2009 SCN).

There the whole unhappy matter should have ended, but unfortunately Robertson ignored the EGM decision and started to live in denial, staging his own “rival” Swinton Circle meetings, though reviving the full official title of “The London Swinton Circle” in doing so. This rebellion of course caused the official Swinton Circle great problems and embarrassment, particularly when Robertson started to invite some very unsavory and extremist characters to address his meetings. Legal action against Robertson was considered, but alas the cost of such litigation proved to be prohibitive.

Robertson however died from a heart attack in February 2020 (see March 2020 SCN), but not before one of the extremist trouble-makers (the notorious Ian Anderson) and one of his fellow-expelled associates (Christopher Luke, an overt homosexual) had also died. Through various sources we learnt that claims were being made by the remaining backers of Robertson’s rebellion that they would be continuing activities, though nothing ever happened during the subsequent two years to support this claim. Now, however, we have learnt that the web-site of Robertson’s breakaway outfit has been closed down, and so at last, after 13 years, this irritating problem has been removed!

Now however is not the time for triumphalism or retribution. Although of course the two remaining trouble-makers and Robertson’s one remaining fellow-expellee would never be allowed to join the Patriotic Forum, we know that there were several members of Robertson’s breakaway outfit who either through naivety or through ignorance of the full facts were unaware of the true situation. To these genuine patriots we extend the warm hand of friendship, and invite them to join the patriotic mainstream in the form of the Patriotic Forum. After all, as the old South African motto stated: “Unity is Strength”!
