When news first came of the recent terrorist atrocities in Madrid it was quite natural to assume that they were the action of ETA. The subsequent revelation that they were actually the work of al-Qa'eda may at first have seemed strange - until it is remembered that of all the Western nations contributing forces to the War against Terrorism in Iraq, Spain was the country which demonstrated the most noticeable domestic opposition.
If there is one thing which our experiences on the African continent have shown us it is that non-Whites always tend to admire strength, and always tend to despise weakness. It was for this reason that al-Qa'eda undoubtedly chose Spain as the West's "weakest link" - and the subsequent Spanish general election result proved they were completely correct in so doing! The election of the weak-willed and internationalist Spanish Socialist Party will therefore for long be a terrible stain on the reputation of the Spanish nation and people. It was a victory for terrorism. It was a victory for appeasement.
Of course this clear involvement of al-Qa'eda terrorists in support of the former Ba'athist regime in Iraq gives a lie to all those naive fools who have been trying to claim that there was no connection between these two organisations. Al-Qa'eda and Saddam Hussein's Iraq were inextricably linked - as is further being proved by the on-going campaign of al-Qa'eda-orchestrated terror now taking place in Iraq itself.
The current climate will prove a very testing time for Pres. George W. Bush and other leaders of the West, but we hope and believe that they will remain resolute and ruthless in confronting the evils of fundamentalist Islamic terror, and will realise that the West must retain an indefinite presence in Iraq. The showing of such strength will not increase the possiblity of further Madrid-type outrages. It will diminish them.

SPRINGBOK CLUB MARCH MEETING
The Springbok Club was most honoured to welcome Dr. Philip du Toit as their guest speaker in March. Dr. du Toit is an attorney who practises in Pretoria, and who shot to fame earlier this year when his book "The Great South African Land Scandal", which chronicles the Zimbabwe-style farm seizures and intimidation campaign in South Africa, was published. In a very well-received, though at times quite chilling speech, Dr. du Toit detailed the crisis which was currently engulfing South African rural areas, caused both by the illegal ANC-backed land "redistribution" claims and by the horrific ongoing terror attacks against the White farming community. He also told of the success which the book had obtained in South Africa by alerting people to what was really happening in the rural areas, and how the ANC regime was trying both to discredit and suppress it.

PHILIP BENWELL MEETING
Mr. Philip Benwell MBE of the Australian Constitutional Monarchy League will be addressing a meeting to be hosted by Lord Molyneaux of Killead at the House of Lords on 21st April, when he will be speaking on the issue of the sovereignty of the Commonwealth Realms under the proposed "Constitution of Europe".
Unfortunately all tickets for this event have now been allocated, but a full report will be appearing in next month's SCN.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NORTHERN IRELAND BRANCH INAUGURAL MEETING
An immensely successful inaugural meeting of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Springbok Club was held on Saturday 27th March 2004, at Burnside Orange Hall.
Nigel Owens BA(Hons), Chairman of the Northern Ireland Branch, delivered a short speech entitled "The Worldwide Battle for True Conservatism", the highlights of which were as follows :-
It is important for us to realise that the battle for true conservatism is not "lost" - it is "being waged".
In the words of the Rt. Hon. Ian Douglas Smith (Prime Minister of Rhodesia) when he issued the Unilateral Declaration of Independence : "We...have rejected the doctrinaire philosophy of appeasement and surrender. The decision which we have taken today is a refusal...to sell (our) birth-right. We have struck a blow for the preservation of justice, civilisation and Christianity. God bless you all." This is the "mission statement" of the N.I. Springbok Club.
Some encouragements and victories include :-
a] overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the Taliban regime in Afghanisatan.
b] the groundswell of monarchist sentiment created by the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations and the aftermath of the death of our Queen Mother (the last Empress of India).
c] support for a Romanov restoration in Russia is growing, the renaming of Leningrad etc.
d] growth of African conservative parties such as the MDC, Inkarta Freedom Party, Freedom Front Plus and the South African Christian Democratic Party.
e] strong stand taken by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and the Likud Party, and by President Bush of the USA in the face of Islamic and Arab terrorism.
f] results of the Swedish and Gibraltar referendums.
g] recent steps taken by the Dutch Government to regain control of their asylum/immigration situation.
h] results of the recent Ulster Assembly election - we congratulate all of the anti-agreement MLAs.
Still a lot of work to do however :-
a] in this land, the Labour government is still as entrenched as ever.
b] prospect of a Kerry presidency in the US looms threateningly on the horizon (i.e. 'another Kennedy'). Pray that George Bush wins.
c] international opposition to Mugabe - whilst finally in existence - lacks real teeth. During WWII, Rhodesia committed more servicemen/women per capita to defend our country than any other British dominion. Our debt to Rhodesia is one of blood - we owe them for this blood debit. When we were facing up to the stark prospect of national extinction at the hands of the Nazis and our necks were on the line, Rhodesia was there for us. Now, we need to be there for them. This fact alone is justification enough for British military intervention in modern day "Zimbabwe".
d] world continues largely to ignore the plight of South Africa and the injustices there.
e] our government has now gone soft on Libya, yet is becoming increasingly critical of Israel.
f] the presence of a large number of unacceptable MPs like Jenny Tonge, John McDonnell, George Galloway and Claire Short in our parliament.
CONCLUSION
We will win, that much is sure. How can I be so certain? It is simple - we will win because we are right (this is something which no one else has on their side). The truth will always overcome falsehood, good will always overcome evil - that which is right will always overcome that which is wrong. One is of God and the other is of Satan. We must take the view of Ian Douglas Smith's Unilateral Declaration of Independence when it said : "we the Government of Rhodesia, in humble submission to Almighty God who controls the destinies of nations...earnestly praying that we and the people of Rhodesia will not be hindered in our determination to continue exercising our undoubted right to demonstrate the same loyalty and devotion"
Like the settlers at Blood River, we on the right are living in "a day of trouble". Like the settlers at Blood River, there is only one way out - we need to seek the Lord and look to Him for deliverance. It's time, once more, to "circle the wagons". Do this, and then the victory will come - and never forget, our's is nothing less than a holy cause.
Messages of support were received and read out from the Chairman and the Branch Development Officer of the Springbok Club, as well as from representatives of the London, Kent and Chilterns branches, which were all well-received by the enthusiastic audience. Branch office holders for the forthcoming year were agreed (with Nigel Owens remaining as Chairman/Secretary) and a number of other decisions concerning the development of the branch were taken. The meeting ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

SPRINGBOK CLUB BRANCH NEWS
The Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club will shortly be holding an informal get-together, the details of which are as follows :-
Date : Saturday 17th April
Time : Assemble from approximately 14.30 onwards
Venue : "The Bell" (the main bar), Frogmoor, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. (This venue is in the centre of High Wycombe, approximately 10 minutes walk from the railway station)
Later during the afternoon there will be a trip to near-by West Wycombe Park, the "Hellfire Cave" and West Wycombe village, all of which are National Trust properties.

River trip details : The trip will be from Richmond to Westminster, and will commence at 16.00 hrs. The cost will be £7.00 per head (£10.00 return), though a group discount will be available for a party of 20 or more.

The London Swinton Circle held a most interesting meeting in March which was addressed by John and Laura Midgley of the Campaign Against Political Correctness. In a most enthralling presentation they not only detailed some of the worst examples of "political correctness" which were plaguing the nation, but also demonstrated how it could be, and was being counteracted.

No.65 : Mr. ARTHUR MORRIS
Although being born and bred in York, Arthur Morris was to prove himself a great South African patriot. Residing in Durban, he became active with the Civic Action League (a local voters rights pressure group) eventually becoming chairman of the organisation. Once elected to this position he was prepared to co-operate closely with other patriotic movements in the area, such as the Patriotic Forum and Action White Natal, and was eventually elected a Durban City Councillor under the CAL banner in 1988. He proved to be a highly efficient and popular Councillor, and was always well known and well remembered for his jolly and witty sense of humour. A number of former friends would like to re-contact him.

The Foreign Secretary's criticism of Israeli action against the Palestinian terrorist leadership is misconceived. Anyone who takes up arms against a democratic state should expect to suffer the full force of justified military resistance.
With the elimination of Yassin, the Israelis have set a positive example - as often before - for the Free World. If we are to defeat Islamist terrorists, we shall need to act ruthlessly against our enemies, ignore the mendacious bleating of anti-American, anti-capitalist and anti-semitic "human rights" campaigners, and stand four-square with our friends - not least the USA and Israel.

BLOOD MONEY
Sir,
I would just like to comment about the "farm-murders" (and other horrendous crimes) in South Africa. The first problem that we have in terms of crime is that the government fails to deter criminals from doing their foul deeds. Our judicial system is pathetic (one in 6 cases end up in conviction, if that) and the police service (which used to be a police FORCE) is pretty much useless in apprehending these criminals.
The other problem that we're having is this: government benefits financially from crime. All expenses towards self-protection and preservation comes from "after-tax" income for the man in the street. The government "pockets" 14% Value Added Tax on each and every Rand spent. Let me give you an interesting example: A car thieve steals a R300,000.00 BMW and delivers it to the nearest chop-shop. For his trouble he receives between R10,000.00 to R15,000.00. The owner of the car claims against his short term insurance, receives a cheque for the book-value of the car, and buys another one for R300,000.00. This transaction nets R42,000.00 in VAT for the government (as a direct result of a criminal activity).
We have been busy for the past 24 months to prepare a constitutional court case in order to determine whether this income, which is not only immoral, is unconstitutional. Also, from every victim of crime that dies as a result of the criminal action, the government collects Estate Duty and Death Taxes. The question here is: What was the government's income in Estate Duty from the estates of +/- 1600 murdered farmers (as a direct result of crime)?

KERRY VIRUS
Sir,
Senator John Kerry, the Democrat candidate for the American presidency, recently showed himself to be little more than yet another Kennedy backed wannabe.
When pitching for the gullible votes of Irish Americans his comments about Northern Ireland and the DUP were nothing short of immoral and disgusting.
His pathetic demands that the armed Marxist terrorists of the IRA be allowed into government reminds us all of the kind of nonsense spoken repeatedly by people of Kerry's ilk. You could just imagine someone of the calibre of Ted Kennedy, Michael Dukakis, Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, Al Gore and good old JFK himself coming out with drivel like this.
Kerry remarked that he would put the Northern Ireland situation high on his agenda if he is elected President. Comments such as this should send a shiver down every conservative patriot's neck.
President Bush, on the other hand, has increasingly been coming round to the anti-agreement unionist perspective. Only Bush can stop Kerry - pray that Bush wins.

Mr. NICK MAINE
It was with much sadness that we recently learnt that the great Australian patriotic activist, Mr. Nick Maine, had decided to retire from active politics. Mr. Maine is now 82 years of age and has been suffering from depression for some time, but even so this proved very unhappy news for us.
We have been in close and mutually-beneficial liaison with Nick for over two decades - way back to the days when our movement was still based in South Africa itself. Throughout this period Nick's dedication to the cause of his kith and kin around the world never faultered, especially concerning those from southern Africa. In the domestic Australian context he was an energetic campaigner both for the Monarchy and for a halt to "third world" immigration. On both these fronts he of course witnessed great triumphs over the past few years - which makes his depression even more saddening.
We wish Nick a happy and peaceful retirement from political activism, but are confident that a new generation of Australian patriots are ready to take up his baton and to follow his example.

Mbeki is very fond of talking about an "African Renaissance", a so-called "return" to a mythical era of Black-ruled progress in Africa. But what is the truth of the matter?
The world's oldest Black-ruled state is Haiti, which "celebrated" it's 200th anniversary of independence from France this year. Haiti, however, is by far the poorest and most backward nation in the Western Hemisphere, and throughout its 200 year history has constantly "progressed" from one bloody revolution followed by a tyrannical dictatorship, to another equally savage coup followed by an equally despotic ruler. Haiti's latest president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was hailed as an exception just a few years ago when he obtained power with popular support, but in reality he proved just as corrupt, incompetent and power-hungry as all his predecessors, so that his recent overthrow became inevitable. Significantly, however, one of the few overseas leaders to visit Haiti in order to give Aristide support at the time of his anniversary celebrations was South Africa's Mbeki!
The original blame for Haiti's sorry state of affairs rests squarely with Napoleonic France, for although Napoleon Bonaparte was eager to invade practically every neighbouring White European state, he was not prepared to send troops to defend an existing and rightful part of the French Empire. How far much better the world would be today if the situation had been reversed! Present-day France has however been prepared to send troops to help restore order in this traditional sphere of French influence (which comes as a welcomed change after France's refusal to support the necessary Western intervention in Iraq), albeit in conjunction with Canada and the United States. The American assistance in this regard is particularly pleasing however, and confirms that under Pres. George W. Bush the United States is definitely prepared to "take up the White Man's burden".
Meanwhile the despot and former Catholic priest Aristide has fled, and is rumoured to be seeking sanctuary with Mbeki in South Africa. This would seem to be a logical move as the two tyrants are like peas in a pod. They deserve each other.

SPRINGBOK CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING
The Springbok Club was most privileged to be able to welcome Mr. Frank Maloney, the famous boxing manager, as their guest speaker in February. As well as being the manager of such well-known boxing champions as Lennox Lewis, Paul Ingle and Scott Harrison, Mr. Maloney is also the official UKIP candidate in the forthcoming London Mayoral Election. In a powerful speech and a lively question-and-answer session Mr. Maloney clearly outlined his visionary plans for London if he was to be elected Mayor, which seemed to meet with the full approval of those in attendance. Before the meeting begun, however, a brief moment's silence was observed for Mr. Maurice Owen, the well-known Durban-based boxing promoter, who was also a strong supporter of the Springbok Club and a friend of Mr. Maloney, who sadly died at the end of last year.

The Springbok Club will be staging a short-notice meeting at the end of March when the guest speaker will be Dr. Philip du Toit, the author of the acclaimed book "The Great South African Land Scandal". The details are as follows:-

Dr. Philip du Toit is an attorney who practises in Pretoria. He completed his doctorate in Labour Law (with emphasis on the agricultural sector) at the Pacific Western University in California, and now lectures on industrial and commercial law at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Pretoria. He shot to prominence when his book "The Great South African Land Scandal", which chronicles the Zimbabwe-style farm seizures and intimidation campaign in South Africa, was published earlier this year. This book greatly angered the ANC-regime, and various attempts have been made to suppress it. Dr. du Toit will be talking about the crisis currently facing South African farmers, and the facts concerning the publication of his book.

The Inaugural meeting of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Springbok Club (which will also act as an initial AGM) has now been finalised, and details are as follows:-
Date : Saturday 27th March 2004
Time : Assemble at 12 noon (when light refreshments will be available). The meeting itself will commence at 13.00 hrs.
Venue : The Burnside Orange Hall, Burnside Road, Burnside, Co.Antrim (exit the M2 at Junction 6, turn left onto Loughanmore Road then second right onto Burnside Road).
This Inaugural meeting is being organised by founding N.I. Branch Chairman/Secretary Nigel Owens, who can be contacted on: 079808-56105. An exciting itinerary of items has been drawn up for discussion at this meeting, and it is hoped that as many members and supporters of the Springbok Club from Northern Ireland (and from anywhere else who can make the journey) as possible will be able to attend this important event.

In view of the short-notice meeting arranged for March 24th, and the fact that the anticipated visit of Springbok Club US joint co-ordinator Ferdi Fourie to the UK still hasn't been confirmed, it has been decided to postpone the date of the informal pub-gathering of the Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club until Saturday 11th April. This will be held at "The Bell", Frogmoor, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and if Ferdi Fourie is in the UK at the time he will be present to meet everyone at this event.
The river trip along the Thames at Richmond by the London (Capital) Branch of the Springbok Club has now been finalised for early May. Full details will be given in the April edition of the SCN.

The London Swinton Circle held a very interesting meeting last month, when the guest speaker was Mr. Nigel Farage, the UKIP MEP for South-East England. In a most informative address Mr. Farage recounted the disasters which EU membership had been to the UK, and also outlined details of UKIP's plans for complete withdrawal.

GIBRALTAR 300th ANNIVERSARY SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING & CELEBRATION
Senior officials of the Springbok Club and the London Swinton Circle were most honoured to be invited to attend a Thanksgiving Service and subsequent reception to mark the 300th Anniversary of Gibraltar becoming British. The Thanksgiving Service was held at St.Clement Danes Church in the Strand and was attended, inter alia, by HRH the Duke of Kent (representing HM The Queen), Baroness Thatcher and the Rt. Hon. Iain Duncan Smith MP. Lessons were read by Mr. Albert Poggio MBE (official UK Representative of the Government of Gibraltar), Baroness Symons (Minister of State at the FCO) and the Rt. Hon. Michael Howard MP (Leader of the Opposition). In a most inspiring address the Hon. Peter Caruana QC (the Chief Minister of Gibraltar) stated that Gibraltar wanted nothing but friendship with her neighbour Spain, but that this friendship must be reciprocated. At the reception held at the Savoy Hotel afterwards speeches were made by the Mayor of Westminster and by Peter Caruana, who emphasised how Gibraltar was proud to be part of the Great British Family, and would remain so for at least another 300 years. Good contacts were also made at this reception with a number of old and new friends, including Sir Bob Peliza (former Chief Minister of Gibraltar), Maurice Xiberras (former Deputy Chief Minister of Gibraltar), and Nathan Payas and Andrea Martin, the soloists who sang so beautiful at the Service.

MEETING WITH JACK LOGGENBERG
Mr. Jack Loggenberg, a leading official of the Transvaal Agricultural Union (TLU/TAU), met with three leading members of the Springbok Club during a recent visit to London. This proved to be a most fruitful meeting, and close contacts were established between the two organisations as a result. It was also agreed that Mr. Loggenberg would speak at a Springbok Club meeting during his next visit to London later this year.

But on the positive side he obtained three trade groupings to become the highest paid infantry private. After WWII, being aware of the loss of so many good young lives during the war, Nick became disgusted with scheming politicians who were betraying these young men who had given their all to keep the alien from our shores, so during the mid 1950s he formed a political union. At 81 Nick is still involved with politics in his attempts to expose corruption in politics - but that's another story!

I want to tell you, as a South African living in Moscow for four years, that the Russians
are not interested in South Africa anymore. They hate Black people with a passion. We
heard a rumour that the South African ambassador's wife had a cigarette stubbed out on
her chest when in public once. At least two South Afrcan ambassadors have been mugged,
once was mugged twice. Most Black people are too frightened to go out in public. The Russians are probably the best racists on earth. This is so ironic considering the impact that the Soviet Union once had on South Africa's destiny. What they really wanted was the wealth of South Africa and other African countries. They now know that their country is probably the richest country in the world with regard to oil and mineral wealth - so why bother with South Africa? They have plenty of problems of their own before they can start thinking of expansion - that was a Brezhnev dream. The sooner Black people in South Africa know that the Russians are not and never will be their friends, the better for everyone involved.

We have recently been informed, however, that Andrew is involved with the "Conservative Democratic Alliance" web-site (an organisation, incidently, which is neither Conservative nor Democratic, and which contains several characters of a similar obnoxious anti-British nature as Andrew himself), where he likes to send very long and boring extracts from the Bible or other early Christian writings.
As we said in the previous edition of the SCN, Mr. Francis Andrew is certainly a lunatic character who we advise everyone to avoid at all costs.

Mbeki is very fond of talking about an "African Renaissance", a so-called "return" to a mythical era of Black-ruled progress in Africa. But what is the truth of the matter?
The world's oldest Black-ruled state is Haiti, which "celebrated" it's 200th anniversary of independence from France this year. Haiti, however, is by far the poorest and most backward nation in the Western Hemisphere, and throughout its 200 year history has constantly "progressed" from one bloody revolution followed by a tyrannical dictatorship, to another equally savage coup followed by an equally despotic ruler. Haiti's latest president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was hailed as an exception just a few years ago when he obtained power with popular support, but in reality he proved just as corrupt, incompetent and power-hungry as all his predecessors, so that his recent overthrow became inevitable. Significantly, however, one of the few overseas leaders to visit Haiti in order to give Aristide support at the time of his anniversary celebrations was South Africa's Mbeki!
The original blame for Haiti's sorry state of affairs rests squarely with Napoleonic France, for although Napoleon Bonaparte was eager to invade practically every neighbouring White European state, he was not prepared to send troops to defend an existing and rightful part of the French Empire. How far much better the world would be today if the situation had been reversed! Present-day France has however been prepared to send troops to help restore order in this traditional sphere of French influence (which comes as a welcomed change after France's refusal to support the necessary Western intervention in Iraq), albeit in conjunction with Canada and the United States. The American assistance in this regard is particularly pleasing however, and confirms that under Pres. George W. Bush the United States is definitely prepared to "take up the White Man's burden".
Meanwhile the despot and former Catholic priest Aristide has fled, and is rumoured to be seeking sanctuary with Mbeki in South Africa. This would seem to be a logical move as the two tyrants are like peas in a pod. They deserve each other.

The Springbok Club was most privileged to be able to welcome Mr. Frank Maloney, the famous boxing manager, as their guest speaker in February. As well as being the manager of such well-known boxing champions as Lennox Lewis, Paul Ingle and Scott Harrison, Mr. Maloney is also the official UKIP candidate in the forthcoming London Mayoral Election. In a powerful speech and a lively question-and-answer session Mr. Maloney clearly outlined his visionary plans for London if he was to be elected Mayor, which seemed to meet with the full approval of those in attendance. Before the meeting begun, however, a brief moment's silence was observed for Mr. Maurice Owen, the well-known Durban-based boxing promoter, who was also a strong supporter of the Springbok Club and a friend of Mr. Maloney, who sadly died at the end of last year.

Dr. Philip du Toit is an attorney who practises in Pretoria. He completed his doctorate in Labour Law (with emphasis on the agricultural sector) at the Pacific Western University in California, and now lectures on industrial and commercial law at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Pretoria. He shot to prominence when his book "The Great South African Land Scandal", which chronicles the Zimbabwe-style farm seizures and intimidation campaign in South Africa, was published earlier this year. This book greatly angered the ANC-regime, and various attempts have been made to suppress it. Dr. du Toit will be talking about the crisis currently facing South African farmers, and the facts concerning the publication of his book.

But on the positive side he obtained three trade groupings to become the highest paid infantry private. After WWII, being aware of the loss of so many good young lives during the war, Nick became disgusted with scheming politicians who were betraying these young men who had given their all to keep the alien from our shores, so during the mid 1950s he formed a political union. At 81 Nick is still involved with politics in his attempts to expose corruption in politics - but that's another story!

Although originating from the UK, Danny Grant became a leading jockey in Rhodesia, riding at both the Borrowdale and Bulawayo courses. After the fall of Rhodesia he first centred himself in Natal, before moving to stables at the Bloemfontein track. Nothing is known of him since then, but a number of old contacts would be pleased to meet up with him again.

I want to tell you, as a South African living in Moscow for four years, that the Russians
are not interested in South Africa anymore. They hate Black people with a passion. We
heard a rumour that the South African ambassador's wife had a cigarette stubbed out on
her chest when in public once. At least two South Afrcan ambassadors have been mugged,
once was mugged twice. Most Black people are too frightened to go out in public. The Russians are probably the best racists on earth. This is so ironic considering the impact that the Soviet Union once had on South Africa's destiny. What they really wanted was the wealth of South Africa and other African countries. They now know that their country is probably the richest country in the world with regard to oil and mineral wealth - so why bother with South Africa? They have plenty of problems of their own before they can start thinking of expansion - that was a Brezhnev dream. The sooner Black people in South Africa know that the Russians are not and never will be their friends, the better for everyone involved.

Alas we must report that Mr. Francis Andrew, the bachelor who now resides in Jordan where he teaches litle Arab boys to speak English, continues to bombard us with infantile and insulting e-mails - many of them of a deranged lavatorial nature - in spite of constant requests by us to cease all contact.
We have recently been informed, however, that Andrew is involved with the "Conservative Democratic Alliance" web-site (an organisation, incidently, which is neither Conservative nor Democratic, and which contains several characters of a similar obnoxious anti-British nature as Andrew himself), where he likes to send very long and boring extracts from the Bible or other early Christian writings.
As we said in the previous edition of the SCN, Mr. Francis Andrew is certainly a lunatic character who we advise everyone to avoid at all costs.

Towards the end of January the Natal rugby side made a short trip to London to play a friendly match against Harlequins. A number of officials of the Springbok Club were initially offered tickets for this match, but alas circumstances eventually prevented attendance, so the match was therefore only viewed on TV.
There had been the fear, however, that there would also be a number of traitors and sell-outs in the crowd who would be waving the blood-stained flag of the ANC regime, which could have led to nasty confrontations. In the event, however, it seemed we had little to worry about, as only one example of the hideous ANC flag was ever viewed on the screen. For the most part the Natal supporters were proudly displaying the emblems and colours of the Natal team, and although we could see no examples of the Natal flag (the beautiful "red ensign" design, which alas must now be very hard to come by under the present dispensation) it was clear that the sentiments of the crowd were fully behind the ideals of "the Last Outpost of the British Empire". Furthermore, it was also most encouraging to note that the team still play as NATAL, and not under the abominable title of "KwaZulu-Natal" (and in this regard it should be remembered that several members of today's Springbok Club were active supporters of Action White Natal during the mid-1980s, an organisation which SUCCESSFULLY campaigned against the establishment of a joint KwaZulu/Natal authority at the time).
It has of course been a constant source of anger for all true South African patriots to see traitors and those who Lenin accurately described as "useful idiots" waving the obnoxious terrorist flag at overseas sporting events where South African competitors take part - probably much to the embarrassment of these competitors themselves. Perhaps the demonstration of more patriotic sentiments displayed by the Natal supporters indicates that these days are gradually coming to an end.
With the terrorist regime now being in power in South Africa for over a decade maybe we are at last seeing the first manifestations of genuine patriotic resistance. In this respect it is more important than ever that the real South African flag (and indeed the Natal flag and those of the other three provinces) are displayed more and more frequently. The Springbok Club will certainly be in the vanguard of this campaign.

SPRINGBOK CLUB AGM
The Springbok Club held their 2004 AGM at the end of January, which proved to be a most happy and successful event, with a larger than ever turnout, thus confirming the continuing growth of the movement.
Allan Robertson presented the Treasurer's report for 2003, Alan Harvey the Organiser's report, and Daniel Wilkinson the Branch Development report - copies of the first two of which are available upon request.
After this David Wedgwood temporarily took the chair for the election of the Executive Committee for 2004, and the out-going committee were subsequently re-elected en bloc.
Although there were no offical motions tabled for debate, an informal and most useful discussion then took place regarding the conditions of membership and branch structures.
At the end of the meeting Allan Robertson gave a most enlightening talk about developments among patriotic organisations in the UK, and the way in which the Springbok Club plans to co-operate with them.

FEBRUARY SPRINGBOK CLUB MEETING
The Springbok Club will be staging a most interesting meeting later this month at which the guest speaker will be Mr. Frank Maloney, the boxing promotor and official UKIP candidate for Mayor of London. The details are as follows:-

Venue : The Clarence (the upstairs Function Room), 4 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1 (just off Piccadilly, practically opposite the Ritz Hotel - nearest tube station: Green Park).
Frank Maloney was born at Peckham, south-east London, of British-Irish parentage. A keen sportsman from an early age, he toyed with the idea of becoming both a jockey and a professional footballer, before concentrating upon his main love - boxing. He fought 67 times as an amateur in the flyweight division, but subsequently made his name as a leading and highly successful professional manager, managing such famous champions as Lennox Lewis, Paul Ingle and Alex Arthur. He has visited South Africa on a number of occasions during his boxing career, and gained a great love for the country. A proud Londoner, Frank has become alarmed by the city’s deterioration and loss of traditional character during recent years, and as a result has been adopted as the official UKIP candidate for the forthcoming London Mayoral election, where his campaign has attracted unprecedented media attention.

SPRINGBOK CLUB BRANCH ACTIVITIES
The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club staged a most enjoyable trip to the Zulu War “Special Living History Event” at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham last month, which marked the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Rorke's Drift. Inter alia they witnessed a re-enactment of the drill and weaponry of the time of the Zulu Wars by “The Die Hards” historical re-enactment society, and a riveting talk on the Battle of Isandhlwana by Julian Wybra. After the visit to the museum a convivial and highly useful informal get-together was held at the near-by historic King George V pub in Old Brompton - which possesses a massive collection of wall-plaque badges from ships of the Royal Navy, and which was the venue for countless send-offs and welcome-homes for servicemen servicing in various parts of the British Empire in days gone by.

The date of the informal pub-gathering to be staged by the Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club in High Wycombe has been put back to later during March.
The planned river trip along the Thames at Richmond by the London (Capital) Branch of the Springbok Club now looks like being held in early May.

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE EVENTS
The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to welcome Sir Teddy Taylor MP, the Conservative MP for Rochford and Southend East, as their guest speaker in January. Sir Teddy gave a masterful exposure of the damage which membership of the EU was doing to Britain and its economy, and why negotiated withdrawal would be in the country's best interests. He also emphasised the fact that the media was not as antagonistic to our aims and ideals as many pessimists would have us believe, and that with a bit of effort it was always easy to obtain media publicity. During question time a number of people emphasised the fact that many life-long Conservatives were preparing to vote for UKIP in the forthcoming Euro Elections, if only to convince the new Conservative leadership to take a more Euro-sceptic stance.

ROGUES GALLERY
British-born Francis Andrew made contact with us several years ago, and assured us not only that he fully supported the aims and objectives of the Springbok Club, but also that he was a proud neo-Imperialist. A bachelor who has spent the past twenty or so years living in the Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan where he's taught little Arab boys to speak English, there have however proved to be many ambiguities about Mr. Andrew - not least the fact that he is a devout Roman Catholic whilst at the same time still claiming to support the Act of Settlement and the DUP in Northern Ireland!
We initially accepted Mr. Andrew's claims of support at face value, but were absolutely dumbfounded when he subsequently told us that he did not support his own country during the recent War Against Terrorism in Iraq! When we criticised him for his unpatriotic stance in this regard his reaction was to send us a number of insulting and extremely childish e-mails. Quite clearly, therefore, when the crunch came Mr. Andrew decided that his loyalties lay with the societies where he resided rather than with the country which gave him birth.
Although we at first thought that Mr. Andrew was simply a straight-forward traitor who had "conned" us for a number of years, some of his subsequent outpourings tend to suggest that he may suffer from serious psychiatric problems. Inter alia he has claimed to be in contact with Enoch Powell from beyond the grave, and that the great man supports his anti-British stance on Iraq (FACT: Enoch Powell was a lifelong British patriot who voluntarily enlisted in the ranks at the start of WWII), that Iraq is not an Islamic country (FACT: Iraq is 93% Muslim), and that the population of the UK is "12 to 14% ethnic" (FACT: even the biased government 2001 Census only tried to claim that 6.9% of the population was non-White; it has been estimated that a more accurate figure is only 2.8%). Not only does Mr. Andrew apparently possess an extreme hatred for his own country (as demonstrated by his bizarre claim that it is "12 to 14% ethnic"), but he also holds a totally paranoiac hatred for the United States, believing in weird "conspiracy theories" regarding the CIA which would make even the most extreme Leftist proud, and failing to comprehend the seismic shift in policies which take place on the change of US administrations.
So bizarre did many of Mr. Andrew's communications become (involving many wild mood swings) that we eventually asked him to cease all contact - but in spite of these simple requests he continues to bombard us with increasingly deranged and infantile e-mails. Has anyone else been plagued by this wretched man in this way we wonder, and does anyone know anything more about his background? In any case, Mr. Francis Andrew certainly appears to be a character best to be avoided!

THE CURSE OF SPRINGBOK
In the December 2003 edition of the SCN we exposed the fact that John "Porky" Hiddleston, the original "nominal" editor of "S.A.Patriot" who ran away with significant funds in 1981, had been selected as an official (though happily unsuccessful) UUP candidate for Belfast South during the recent Northern Ireland Assembly elections. Our astonishment in this regard, moreover, was magnified by the fact that we knew that "Porky" Hiddleston had for long harboured anti-Semitic sentiments - which were confirmed by the contents of his short-lived "Ulster Watchman" broadsheet.
We have subsequently learnt that "Porky's" disreputable past has now also been exposed by the well-known anti-fascist magazine "Searchlight" - which fully revealed his neo-fascist credentials! Let us hope therefore that this will be the end of this loathsome creature's attempts to enter public life, and that he will crawl back into the sewer from whence he came.
Other troublemakers such as Tuohy, Waring, Scholtz and Andrew should take note!

February 2004 edition
Towards the end of January the Natal rugby side made a short trip to London to play a friendly match against Harlequins. A number of officials of the Springbok Club were initially offered tickets for this match, but alas circumstances eventually prevented attendance, so the match was therefore only viewed on TV.
There had been the fear, however, that there would also be a number of traitors and sell-outs in the crowd who would be waving the blood-stained flag of the ANC regime, which could have led to nasty confrontations. In the event, however, it seemed we had little to worry about, as only one example of the hideous ANC flag was ever viewed on the screen. For the most part the Natal supporters were proudly displaying the emblems and colours of the Natal team, and although we could see no examples of the Natal flag (the beautiful "red ensign" design, which alas must now be very hard to come by under the present dispensation) it was clear that the sentiments of the crowd were fully behind the ideals of "the Last Outpost of the British Empire". Furthermore, it was also most encouraging to note that the team still play as NATAL, and not under the abominable title of "KwaZulu-Natal" (and in this regard it should be remembered that several members of today's Springbok Club were active supporters of Action White Natal during the mid-1980s, an organisation which SUCCESSFULLY campaigned against the establishment of a joint KwaZulu/Natal authority at the time).
It has of course been a constant source of anger for all true South African patriots to see traitors and those who Lenin accurately described as "useful idiots" waving the obnoxious terrorist flag at overseas sporting events where South African competitors take part - probably much to the embarrassment of these competitors themselves. Perhaps the demonstration of more patriotic sentiments displayed by the Natal supporters indicates that these days are gradually coming to an end.
With the terrorist regime now being in power in South Africa for over a decade maybe we are at last seeing the first manifestations of genuine patriotic resistance. In this respect it is more important than ever that the real South African flag (and indeed the Natal flag and those of the other three provinces) are displayed more and more frequently. The Springbok Club will certainly be in the vanguard of this campaign.

SPRINGBOK CLUB AGM
The Springbok Club held their 2004 AGM at the end of January, which proved to be a most happy and successful event, with a larger than ever turnout, thus confirming the continuing growth of the movement.
Allan Robertson presented the Treasurer's report for 2003, Alan Harvey the Organiser's report, and Daniel Wilkinson the Branch Development report - copies of the first two of which are available upon request.
After this David Wedgwood temporarily took the chair for the election of the Executive Committee for 2004, and the out-going committee were subsequently re-elected en bloc.
Although there were no offical motions tabled for debate, an informal and most useful discussion then took place regarding the conditions of membership and branch structures.
At the end of the meeting Allan Robertson gave a most enlightening talk about developments among patriotic organisations in the UK, and the way in which the Springbok Club plans to co-operate with them.

The Springbok Club will be staging a most interesting meeting later this month at which the guest speaker will be Mr. Frank Maloney, the boxing promotor and official UKIP candidate for Mayor of London. The details are as follows:-

Frank Maloney was born at Peckham, south-east London, of British-Irish parentage. A keen sportsman from an early age, he toyed with the idea of becoming both a jockey and a professional footballer, before concentrating upon his main love - boxing. He fought 67 times as an amateur in the flyweight division, but subsequently made his name as a leading and highly successful professional manager, managing such famous champions as Lennox Lewis, Paul Ingle and Alex Arthur. He has visited South Africa on a number of occasions during his boxing career, and gained a great love for the country. A proud Londoner, Frank has become alarmed by the city’s deterioration and loss of traditional character during recent years, and as a result has been adopted as the official UKIP candidate for the forthcoming London Mayoral election, where his campaign has attracted unprecedented media attention.

SPRINGBOK CLUB BRANCH ACTIVITIES
The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club staged a most enjoyable trip to the Zulu War “Special Living History Event” at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham last month, which marked the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Rorke's Drift. Inter alia they witnessed a re-enactment of the drill and weaponry of the time of the Zulu Wars by “The Die Hards” historical re-enactment society, and a riveting talk on the Battle of Isandhlwana by Julian Wybra. After the visit to the museum a convivial and highly useful informal get-together was held at the near-by historic King George V pub in Old Brompton - which possesses a massive collection of wall-plaque badges from ships of the Royal Navy, and which was the venue for countless send-offs and welcome-homes for servicemen servicing in various parts of the British Empire in days gone by.

The date of the informal pub-gathering to be staged by the Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club in High Wycombe has been put back to later during March.
The planned river trip along the Thames at Richmond by the London (Capital) Branch of the Springbok Club now looks like being held in early May.

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE EVENTS
The London Swinton Circle was most honoured to welcome Sir Teddy Taylor MP, the Conservative MP for Rochford and Southend East, as their guest speaker in January. Sir Teddy gave a masterful exposure of the damage which membership of the EU was doing to Britain and its economy, and why negotiated withdrawal would be in the country's best interests. He also emphasised the fact that the media was not as antagonistic to our aims and ideals as many pessimists would have us believe, and that with a bit of effort it was always easy to obtain media publicity. During question time a number of people emphasised the fact that many life-long Conservatives were preparing to vote for UKIP in the forthcoming Euro Elections, if only to convince the new Conservative leadership to take a more Euro-sceptic stance.

The result of the recent Northern Ireland Assembly elections, which saw the DUP emerging as the largest single party, and the overall Unionist vote increasing compared to the overall Nationalist vote, was a highly significant and highly encouraging event. When the subsequent defection of Jeffrey Donaldson and two elected colleagues from the UUP to the DUP is also taken into account then the situation gives even more reason for optimism concerning Ulster's future.
In spite of over three decades of attacks by terrorist scum and weakness on the part of their national leaders, the Ulster people have continued to display their traditional spirit of "No Surrender" and "Not an Inch", which has assured their survival and prosperity over the centuries. It is just a pity that their kith and kin in southern Africa couldn't have displayed the same spirit of defiance and determination when faced by the same twin enemies during the final three decades of the last century, in which case they would undoubtedly still control their own countries to this day.
But it is against the broader picture of worldwide developments that this electoral triumph should be viewed. Following the victory of the pro-monarchy forces in the Australian constitutional referendum, the overwhelming vote by the Gibraltar people to remain British, and perhaps most significantly of all the military triumphs of the Western nations in the War Against Terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, it shows that the pendulum of world history has well and truly swung, and that the British people around the world - and indeed the West in general - have awoken from their slumber and are now once again defending themselves and asserting their rights and natural position.
The "politically correct" days of the 1990s, and indeed the whole era of appeasement and surrender which typified the post-WWII years, are now a thing of the past. The future for the pan-British people therefore looks both bright and beckoning.

SPRINGBOK CLUB'S DAY OF THE VOW COMMEMORATIONS
The Springbok Club held what was probably their most successful Day of the Vow commemoration function ever at the end of 2003, when they were extremely honoured to welcome Mr. Andrew Hunter MP as their Guest of Honour. Mr. Hunter is of course the MP for Basingstoke, having been elected for the Conservative Party, though now sitting as an Independent Conservative following his decision to contest the recent Northern Ireland Assembly elections on behalf of the DUP, where he was only narrowly defeated in the Lagan Valley constituency. As well as being a good friend of Ulster he has also proved to be an extremely good and long-standing friend of South Africa, having sat on both the British-South Africa and the British-Bophuthatswana Parliamentary Groups. In his riveting speech Mr. Hunter recounted his own experiences from his many visits to South Africa, and told of the inspiration which he had gained both from the Battle of Blood River and from his trips to the Voortrekker Memorial in Pretoria.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB ACTIVITIES
The Springbok Club's 2004 AGM will be held on Saturday 17 January, and all fully paid-up members will have been informed of the precise details by now.
Unfortunately the Springbok Club's planned trip to the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum in Bristol during February has now had to be postponed until June. An alternative event for February involving a most interesting high-profile guest speaker is at the moment being finalised, and full details will be given in February's SCN.
On 21 April the Springbok Club will be joining forces with the London Swinton Circle and a number of other patriotic organisations to host a meeting to be addressed by Philip Benwell MBE, the Chairman of the "Australian Constitutional Monarchy League".
In May the Springbok Club will be holding their annual Empire Day Buffet, at which a prominent academic will be the Guest of Honour.

This event is being staged to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Rorke’s Drift, and will include a re-enactment of the drill and weaponry of the time by “The Die Hards” historical re-enactment society, models and dioramas by the Gravesham (Gravesend) Military Modelling Society, artefacts, militaria, films and sounds, and talks and discussions by experts on the Battles of Rorke’s Drift, Isandhlwana and Ulundi.
After the visit to the museum a convivial informal get-together will take place at the near-by King George V pub in Old Brompton (opposite the Main Gate and church of Chatham Historical Dockyard).

The following document was produced by Dr Jan du Plessis a geostrategic analyst in Pretoria. I attended a conference in Pretoria in September 2003, where Dr du Plessis presented a most fascinating analysis of where he believes South Africa is going in the next ten years.
These documents below are open source documents from Dr du Plessis. As you will see, these are proper analyses aimed at management of companies who are in South Africa, or who may wish to invest here. These documents describe the major forces which Dr du Plessis believes will drive South Africa in the next decade.
The reason he calls this "Beyond Democracy" is because the major forces now taking control of South Africa are things which cannot be controlled at the ballot box any more.

FILM CIRCLE

I went to the London Film Festival on October 28 and saw two documentaries, one after the other. The first was titled "Rhodesia Countdown", made in the late 1960s, and anti-Smith. The second was called "Zimbabwe Countdown", made recently, and anti-Mugabe. Both were made by Michael Readman who said that Zimbabwe was now in a "catastrophic state". He went on to say "Whatever Rhodesia's faults - I wouldn't have voted RF before 1977 - it did at least function!". What was that about a sinner who repenteth?
By the way, you'll be surprised(!) to know that he's found it difficult to get his new film shown in South Africa. SABC's been told not to show anything anti-Mugabe. I also expect you've heard the news from Namibia - or Zimbabwe Mark-2?

ROGUES GALLERY
We are most grateful to the supporter who sent us an article from the "Sunday Times" confirming that the rumours which we reported in the October 2003 edition of the SCN about Mr. Carl Werth joining the ANC were correct.
As we remarked on that occasion, Werth becomes the second former leading member of the Conservative Party to throw in his lot with the ANC, following the earlier revelation that former CP journalist Arthur Kemp was now aligned to the ANC. It is not known whether Werth and Kemp are directly connected in their defections, although they were both top English-speaking personalities in the CP at the same time during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and it is believed that they were in close contact at that time.
It was of course in the March 2000 edition of the SCN that we first exposed young Mr. Kemp's association with the ANC-controlled "new" South African security service in an article titled "The Plot Thickens", although it subsequently transpired that this revelation had earlier been reported in the "Mail & Guardian"! This resulted in a quite hysterical and paranoid reaction from young Mr. Kemp, in which he tried to smear one leading member of the Springbok Club with a number of easily disprovable lies.
At the time we were uncertain how young Mr. Kemp had become aware of this article as he was not on the SCN circulation list, but it was subsequently revealed that his source was an obscure Swedish individual by the name of Tommy Ryden, who was at the time on our circulation list, and who evidently was a close confident of young Mr. Kemp.
Ryden subsequently started circulating the same pathetic smears as Kemp, although he had never met the Springbok Club member in question, neither did he know anything about him!
We heard the rumour that Ryden had a criminal conviction in Sweden, though at the time we knew no details. A number of Swedish supporters have recently told us a few more facts about this Ryden character however, who is described as coming from "Planet Pluto". Evidently he did serve a prison sentence in Sweden for libel of a racial nature (whatever that might mean?), but in view of the very liberal nature of Swedish society it must have been something very extreme which Ryden had written in order to merit a prison sentence!
We wonder if the ANC hierarchy are aware of the weird and unsavoury nature of the overseas contacts of their new apparatchiks?

OBITUARY
MAURICE OWEN
It was with great sadness that we recently learnt of the death of Maurice Owen.
Maurice Owen was a former Natal Heavyweight Amateur Boxing champion, and after he retired from the ring became a renowned Boxing promoter, as well as running his own highly successful floor and wall tiling business in Durban. He was also a keen patron of the turf, and owned several race-horses.
Maurice was also a great South African patriot. He became actively involved in the Conservative Party and the Patriotic Forum during the late 1980s, and was also a greatly popular and much respected member of the Durban Parliamentary Debating Society, where he was elected "State President" in 1990.
Alas the demise of South Africa had a bad effect upon him, and his aim was constantly to be able to leave the country, but unfortunately his business commitments always prevented this. He was greatly encouraged to learn of the growing success of the Springbok Club, and was in regular written contact with S.A.Patriot-in-Exile magazine until a few years ago, when failing health alas meant that he was no longer able to correspond.
We extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Barbara and to the rest of his family. His memory will however live on, and will encourage us to re-double our efforts for the patriotic cause which he so believed in during the years to come.

The result of the recent Northern Ireland Assembly elections, which saw the DUP emerging as the largest single party, and the overall Unionist vote increasing compared to the overall Nationalist vote, was a highly significant and highly encouraging event. When the subsequent defection of Jeffrey Donaldson and two elected colleagues from the UUP to the DUP is also taken into account then the situation gives even more reason for optimism concerning Ulster's future.
In spite of over three decades of attacks by terrorist scum and weakness on the part of their national leaders, the Ulster people have continued to display their traditional spirit of "No Surrender" and "Not an Inch", which has assured their survival and prosperity over the centuries. It is just a pity that their kith and kin in southern Africa couldn't have displayed the same spirit of defiance and determination when faced by the same twin enemies during the final three decades of the last century, in which case they would undoubtedly still control their own countries to this day.

In a most enthralling address Mr. Gale, who was formerly a BBC producer, did not so much dwell upon the problems facing the country, but rather gave tips and advice about how Conservatives at grass-roots level could counteract these problems, particularly through media contact.

Margaret Peach (nee Pearce) was born in Pietermaritzburg and spent her early years on a farm at Winterton in Natal. After completing her training and travelling around Europe she accepted a nursing post in 1960 at Kariba Hospital in what was then Southern Rhodesia. There she met and married Tinkey Haslam, one of the game wardens involved in "Operation Noah", which was a huge exercise in nature conservation, rescuing animals as the waters of the Zambezi began to fill up the massive newly-constructed Kariba Dam.

The following document was produced by Dr Jan du Plessis a geostrategic analyst in Pretoria. I attended a conference in Pretoria in September 2003, where Dr du Plessis presented a most fascinating analysis of where he believes South Africa is going in the next ten years.
These documents below are open source documents from Dr du Plessis. As you will see, these are proper analyses aimed at management of companies who are in South Africa, or who may wish to invest here. These documents describe the major forces which Dr du Plessis believes will drive South Africa in the next decade.
The reason he calls this "Beyond Democracy" is because the major forces now taking control of South Africa are things which cannot be controlled at the ballot box any more.
Among the interesting things he told during his talk were the following :-
o AIDS is killing teachers faster than they are being trained
o 400,000 people out of 44 million pay 65% of the total taxes in the country
o AIDS killed 600,000 South Africans in 2002 and is expected to kill 700,000 in 2004.

FILM CIRCLE
Sir,
I went to the London Film Festival on October 28 and saw two documentaries, one after the other. The first was titled "Rhodesia Countdown", made in the late 1960s, and anti-Smith. The second was called "Zimbabwe Countdown", made recently, and anti-Mugabe. Both were made by Michael Readman who said that Zimbabwe was now in a "catastrophic state". He went on to say "Whatever Rhodesia's faults - I wouldn't have voted RF before 1977 - it did at least function!". What was that about a sinner who repenteth?
By the way, you'll be surprised(!) to know that he's found it difficult to get his new film shown in South Africa. SABC's been told not to show anything anti-Mugabe. I also expect you've heard the news from Namibia - or Zimbabwe Mark-2?

ROGUES GALLERY
We are most grateful to the supporter who sent us an article from the "Sunday Times" confirming that the rumours which we reported in the October 2003 edition of the SCN about Mr. Carl Werth joining the ANC were correct.
As we remarked on that occasion, Werth becomes the second former leading member of the Conservative Party to throw in his lot with the ANC, following the earlier revelation that former CP journalist Arthur Kemp was now aligned to the ANC. It is not known whether Werth and Kemp are directly connected in their defections, although they were both top English-speaking personalities in the CP at the same time during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and it is believed that they were in close contact at that time.
It was of course in the March 2000 edition of the SCN that we first exposed young Mr. Kemp's association with the ANC-controlled "new" South African security service in an article titled "The Plot Thickens", although it subsequently transpired that this revelation had earlier been reported in the "Mail & Guardian"! This resulted in a quite hysterical and paranoid reaction from young Mr. Kemp, in which he tried to smear one leading member of the Springbok Club with a number of easily disprovable lies.
At the time we were uncertain how young Mr. Kemp had become aware of this article as he was not on the SCN circulation list, but it was subsequently revealed that his source was an obscure Swedish individual by the name of Tommy Ryden, who was at the time on our circulation list, and who evidently was a close confident of young Mr. Kemp.
Ryden subsequently started circulating the same pathetic smears as Kemp, although he had never met the Springbok Club member in question, neither did he know anything about him!
We heard the rumour that Ryden had a criminal conviction in Sweden, though at the time we knew no details. A number of Swedish supporters have recently told us a few more facts about this Ryden character however, who is described as coming from "Planet Pluto". Evidently he did serve a prison sentence in Sweden for libel of a racial nature (whatever that might mean?), but in view of the very liberal nature of Swedish society it must have been something very extreme which Ryden had written in order to merit a prison sentence!
We wonder if the ANC hierarchy are aware of the weird and unsavoury nature of the overseas contacts of their new apparatchiks?

OBITUARY
MAURICE OWEN
It was with great sadness that we recently learnt of the death of Maurice Owen.
Maurice Owen was a former Natal Heavyweight Amateur Boxing champion, and after he retired from the ring became a renowned Boxing promoter, as well as running his own highly successful floor and wall tiling business in Durban. He was also a keen patron of the turf, and owned several race-horses.
Maurice was also a great South African patriot. He became actively involved in the Conservative Party and the Patriotic Forum during the late 1980s, and was also a greatly popular and much respected member of the Durban Parliamentary Debating Society, where he was elected "State President" in 1990.
Alas the demise of South Africa had a bad effect upon him, and his aim was constantly to be able to leave the country, but unfortunately his business commitments always prevented this. He was greatly encouraged to learn of the growing success of the Springbok Club, and was in regular written contact with S.A.Patriot-in-Exile magazine until a few years ago, when failing health alas meant that he was no longer able to correspond.
We extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Barbara and to the rest of his family. His memory will however live on, and will encourage us to re-double our efforts for the patriotic cause which he so believed in during the years to come.
