As could be expected, this year's soccer World Cup finals progressed with ultra-smooth German efficiency, with seemingly only Zidane's infamous head-butt casting a shadow over an otherwise expertly organised tournament.
But what of 2010?
Throughout this year's competition the German press has been full of articles expressing grave doubts about South Africa's ability to stage such a vast international tournament in only four year's time. Planned stadiums haven't even been begun, and other vital forms of infrastructure and communications are currently non-existent (there have even been suggestions that competing teams should be housed within Black townships!). German authorities have apparently already stated that they are prepared to "step into the breach" to stage the tournament again in 2010, and evidently both the United States and Australia have also expressed interest in becoming last-minute hosts in four years time.
The German reports haven't told half the story however. In the decade and a half since the National Party sold-out and surrendered the country, South Africa has been transformed from an advanced first-world nation to a third-world basket-case. South Africa is universally accepted as being the crime capital of the world, and has the planet's highest rate of AIDS infection. The new South African police service is totally corrupt and in many areas law and order has broken down completely. The national economy is collapsing, with companies relocating overseas and power-cuts now the norm in the larger urban areas. Administration and infrastructure have declined to other Black African levels, with unrepaired pot-holed roads meaning that driving is a highly dangerous business even without the constant threat of being hi-jacked! To continue contemplating holding the next World Cup finals in such a disintegrating society is nothing short of madness.
Alas, however, there seems little chance of FIFA averting a cataclysmic disaster by re-locating the venue of the 2010 finals. FIFA President Sepp Blatter has too much at stake - both reputation-wise and financial - to agree to the moving of the tournament away from South Africa. Other FIFA officials must therefore try to seize the initiative by demanding that the 2010 finals be moved elsewhere, for if they don't then there is bound to be a catastrophe of international proportions, with the very lives of players, officials, media representatives and those visiting supporters foolhardy enough to make the trip being in grave danger.
The 2006 Finals produced one little-reported encouraging development however. At matches involving Iran there were massive protests by those opposed to the current evil Ahmadinejad-regime in Iran. These demonstrators were proudly waving masses of the former Iranian flag from the days of the Shah. They didn't just want to be rid of Ahmadinejad therefore - they wanted to be rid of the entire Islamic ogre and for Iran to return to the Western fold. There have been those who have criticised us for our attachment to the real South African flag, but these Iranian patriots have demonstrated that it is not only us who wish to return to an earlier, better and more civilised form of government. We wish them well.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB JUNE MEETING
The Springbok Club/ELC staged a most pleasant and interesting meeting in June which was addressed by Mr James Lewis, a good friend of the organisation and an acclaimed and award-winning travel-writer. Mr Lewis gave a most informative account of his 25-year professional experiences of world travel, especially in relation to South Africa and Poland, and explained how Communist attempts to eradicate nation-states and national identity were being attempted far more frighteningly by the EU bureaucracy than was ever the case in Soviet-dominated Eastern Europe.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC RHODES & FOUNDERS CELEBRATION BUFFET
The Springbok Club/ELC will be staging the first of what are planned to be annual Rhodes & Founders Day celebrations later this month, the details of which are as follows :-

Times : Assemble from 14.30 hrs onwards, main activities to start approx. 15.30 hrs.
Venue : THE CLARENCE (the upstairs function room), 4 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1 (just off Piccadilly opposite the Ritz Hotel - nearest tube station: Green Park).
Guest of Honour : Group Captain PETER PETTER-BOWYER
Peter Petter-Bowyer was born in Rhodesia, and now lives in Norfolk. He is Chairman and Secretary of the Rhodesian Air Force Association in the UK, and generally manages the organisation. "PB", as he is best known, commenced his flying career with the Royal Rhodesian Air Force in 1957. He served as an operational pilot on a variety of piston-engined aircraft, jets, fighter-bombers and helicopters. Operationally involved throughout 13 years of Rhodesia's counter-insurgency war, "PB" was instrumental in developing a number of successful anti-terrorist techniques, including visual reconnaissance that accounted for many of the enemy's numbers. He was also the leading light in saving his country huge amounts in precious foreign currency by developing a range of Rhodesian-manufactured air weapons systems that were much better suited to both bush-warfare and the available strike aircraft than most imported weapons. As Director of Operations at Combined Operations Headquarters with the rank of Group Captain, "PB" was appointed Rhodesia's Cease-fire Commissioner to work directly with the command elements of the British-led Commonwealth Monitoring Force. Following the 1980 victory of ZANU-PF at the polls and the installation of Mugabe as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, "PB" took immediate early retirement.
A sumptuous array of buffet snacks will be provided at this event, and the cost will be £8.00 per head for Full Members of the Springbok Club/ELC, £10.00 per head for Associate Members, and £12.00 per head for non-members. Although there is no necessity for pre-booking, it would help to gauge numbers if all those intending to attend could inform us in advance by 'phoning 07711-188430.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB ACTIVITIES
During the afternoon of Saturday 19th August (at 14.00 hrs) the SC/ELC will be partaking in a "Sherlock Holmes" walking tour organised by "London Horror Tours". After this event an informal reception will be held in a near-by central London pub at which a visiting Australian patriot and long-standing supporter of the movement, Mr Richard "Jock" Spooner, will be the special guest. Fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.
In September the SC/ELC is planning a special meeting at which it is hoped to welcome a leading internationally-renowned economist as guest speaker. Again fuller details will be given in future editions of the SCN.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB BRANCH NEWS
Last month the London Branch of the SC/ELC held the first of what are hoped to be regular informal get-togethers in central London. Unfortunately problems were evidently encountered in obtaining admission by a number of would-be attendees as a result of the venue being a private members' club and not all staff-members being aware of the event. Hopefully this problem has now been sorted out for the future, but the branch would like to apologise to anybody who may have experienced difficulties along these lines last month. Alas a recent attempted gathering by the Chilterns Branch of the SC/ELC turned out to be a sad disaster, with practically nobody turning up. The reason for this was undoubtedly because the erstwhile organiser of this branch, Mr David Williams, has been suffering from increasing bad health, and as a result was not able to circulate invitations to supporters in the region. Mr Williams has subsequently requested to stand-down as organiser of the branch, so we wonder therefore whether any other supporter in the Chilterns area (Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire) would be prepared to take over this position? The theme of Mr Harvey's address will be "The similarities and differences between the Ulster and Southern African struggles".

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle staged two most important, well-attended and highly successful meetings during the last month.
At the first the guest speaker was Mrs Jillian Becker, the well-known author, journalist and expert on counter-terrorism, who spoke on the subject of "Two ways of waging Jihad". Mrs Becker gave a dramatic and masterful overview of the current threats posed to the West by both "hard" and "soft" Islamic Jihad, and also emphasised why it was therefore so important that the Western powers intervened militarily in the Middle East.
The second event, which was the organisation's annual summer buffet, was addressed by Mr Douglas Carswell MP, the Conservative MP for Harwich. One of the most articulate and forward-thinking members of the latest batch of Conservative MPs, Mr Carswell made no bones about the fact that he favoured complete withdrawal from the EU, and also argued strongly in favour of more direct local democracy throughout the UK.
Alas there were problems caused at both meetings by a couple of unsavoury individuals (who we believe not to be members of the LSC) who asked highly offensive questions in opposition to the War Against Terrorism (which furthermore were most insulting to the expert guest speakers), and who at best seemed to advocate appeasement of Islamic expansionism, and at worse downright support for it! These sinister characters would appear therefore to be diametrically opposed to the patriotic ideals upon which the LSC is based, so we therefore call for them to be barred from attending future LSC activities.

PETITION OPPOSING THE NON-ALLOCATION OF S.A. LOTTO FUNDS TO THE S.P.C.A.
A few weeks ago we re-circulated a petition which we had received from a supporter which claimed that a number of SPCA branches in South Africa were facing closure, and that the South African National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund were refusing to allocate the charity any funds. This resulted in a quite dramatic reaction, as several other supporters contacted us (as well as a representative from the SANLDTF itself!) stating that the petition was a "hoax" which had evidently been doing the rounds for several years. We therefore decided to investigate the matter further, yet in spite of e-mailing the apparent instigator of the petition, Chanel Rowan, twice we alas received no response from her whatsoever. We can therefore only come to the conclusion that this petition was indeed a hoax, initiated by forces unknown for reasons that can only be speculated upon. Certainly the petition bore all the characteristics of authenticity, and its contents totally tied-in with the known collapse of infrastructure in the "new" South Africa. Any further information regarding the origins of this petition would therefore be most gratefully received, but in the meantime we would advise everyone to cease re-circulation.
Be this as it may, we also received the following most disturbing message from Louise Joubert of the SANWILD organisation :-
"Maybe you would also consider asking your readers not just to support the SPCA financially but also ask them to write to them re the actions of their wildlife unit (NSPCA) who monitored the removal of 6 young elephants from their breeding herds for elephant backed safari training in Limpopo Province [Far Northern Transvaal}. This is not okay and in my opinion; they (the NSPCA) should have condemned it."
Regardless of the authenticity of the petition, it would therefore seem that all is not well with the South African SPCA.

The petition organised by Raymond Billington drawing attention to the plight of Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensioners was delivered to the British Minister of State on the 30th June 2006. Some 2000 signatures were on it.
From now until the matter has been satisfactorily resolved all supporters are encouraged to visit the recently established Blog Page at : www.zim-pensions.blogspot.com to comment upon the distress and suffering being endured by many Zimbabwe/Rhodesian pensioners and their families. Comments will provide material for the weekly Blog summary and analysis.
The Blog Page is available to bloggers worldwide. If you want their support, make your comments. Keep them brief, to the point, but significant and effective to arouse the sympathetic support needed.
Please encourage all and sundry to visit this page. It is a forum which could become a court of public opinion. Anyone with a computer can log in, comment, exchange viewpoints, or offer support.
Supporters are reminded that petitioning is for pension payment at the historic rate of Zim$2.00 to £1.00, as recorded in the British House of Lords debate in 2001.

We would like to add our congratulations to Jill Lambert (probably better known as Jill Baker from her RTV days) who has recently been awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for services to Zimbabwe/Rhodesian immigrants to Australia. Jill of course visited the UK in 2001 in order to promote her book "Beloved African" when she spoke at a Springbok Club meeting. She impressed us greatly as a sincere and genuine woman dedicated to an ending of the suffering of the Zimbabwe/Rhodesian people. Rarely can an award have been more richly deserved.

MADNESS TAKES ITS TOLL

When I lived in Rhodesia the South African Rand was worth 0.86 Rhodesian Dollars and the British Pound was worth 1.87 South African Rands - and this was under the "illegal rebel regime" which created illegal employment for thousands of "oppressed blacks"!
For centuries Britain won hundreds of battles against the various European nations, but lost the war and invited them in to run this once
brave land. Then to top it all the British handed back the colonies to their "rightful" owners, and promptly invited them to join us here on our little piece of home.
Enoch I hope you are not spinning in your grave, echoes of I told you so.

NUMBERS GAME
Sir,
Have you ever wondered how the audience in TV programmes are arranged particularly if it concerns the questioning of immigrants into Australia?
Audiences are usually well stacked giving the appearance that the ratio of ethnics to Australians in this country is in reverse to actual fact, and are given the most say.
I have been to a number of these interviews and was always outnumbered by obviously well-picked and vocal ethnics who made such statements as "this is a multi-cultural society". The fact of course is this: We were never asked via a referendum if we wanted to change the ethnic structure of our society.
This taxpayer funded multi-culturalism has now created a window of opportunity for terrorists and other creeps who are increasingly committing crimes on a racial basis, particularly rape.
Many of our suburbs are now cesspools of alien crime. Young girls have been horrifically raped for simply being Australian. Terrorist supporters have danced in the streets in support of the exploits of overseas terrorists.
How simple it now is for foreign radicals calmly and openly to buy a ticket at one of our airports, casually board a local plane, overpower the crew, and then perpetrate a similar atrocity such as occurred in the USA?
Among the boat people there were many lone women and their children. Their menfolk had obviously stayed behind to fight for terrorist causes. These woman and children should not have been allowed into Australia as this now allows them to sponsor their terrorist husbands.
Our ancestors, who were pioneers and not grasping migrants, sweated and toiled to build this great country. They had no social services of any kind and lived under great difficulties. To have racial strangers now riding on our backs claiming credit due to others while gaining all the benefits of the toil and strife of our pioneers is an absolute insult.
This was not a nation built by immigrants - it was built by hard-working pioneers under extreme conditions.
Having seen many good young men die during World War II - some in intense agony - in their effort to keep the alien from our shores, I suppose it could be said that I am biased when I say I detest those extremists who have brought this country to a state where terrorists now lurk in our midst.

The once Proud Dutch Nation, a Christian Protestant Land and Empire, which the Spaniards failed to enslave through their brutal armies, has well and truly fallen under the stranglehold of the Crescent, as if a Muslim fleet has sailed into Rotterdam and declared an Islamic State of Netherstan.
It is disgusting beyond all acceptance that a Somali-born Dutch MP, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, should often have to sleep on Army Bases because of Islamic fundamentalist thugs. It seriously makes my blood boil. This mad-house situation is just where the politics of grumble, acquiescence, surrender and cowardice have lead us to.
Just as our incompetent corrupt government desperately needs to be swept from Office, so should that in the Netherlands. It is clear as crystal that what they need is a decent right-wing Christian Protestant government which will deport all these violent Islamic fundamentalists and restore the Dutch Empire in the Dutch East Indies.
Common sense and reason must sweep away this madness and insanity.

ROT IN HELL
There were tears of joy rather than tears of sorrow when we learnt of the recent death of the leftist Welsh ham-actor and self-styled "documentary maker" Kenneth Griffith.
Griffith wasn't just an ordinary left-wing scumbag - he seemed to have a particular visceral hatred for his own British kith and kin. The main targets for his irrational hatred were the Loyalists of Northern Ireland and the White British of South Africa - and he openly supported the anti-British and anti-White terrorist vermin operating in both of these strategic areas of the globe. Probably his most sickening act, however, was to produce a "documentary" glorifying "Sir" Roger Casement. Casement of course was one of the most obnoxious individuals ever to inhabit this planet, being an open homosexual, paedophile, traitor and terrorist gun-runner prior to his just execution. He conducted a self-righteous vendetta campaign against the civilising Belgian administration of the Congo - only for it to be revealed later that his main interest was simply to get his perverted hands on little Congolese negro boys. He subsequently sided with Kaiser Bill's Germany against his own country during WWI, and was directly involved in the smuggling of German weapons to the infant IRA in Dublin. Without doubt Casement was therefore a most despicable rat imaginable - yet here was a piece of filth who Griffith saw fit to "glorify" in one of his self-hating "documentaries".
During his acting career Griffith more often than not played psychopaths, weidos and other mentally deficients; it would appear therefore that he was very accurately type-cast. All three of his marriages evidently failed, thus again confirming that the man was one of nature's inadequates. The world is undoubtedly a far better place following his demise.

As the Soccer World Cup approaches, the attention of the whole world centres on Germany - even among those like most South Africans whose favourite sport is not soccer.
In the UK context, however, a most dark and worrying spectre has raised its ugly head. For historical reasons the various regions of the Britain Isles have always competed on an individual basis in international soccer competitions - an anomaly unknown anywhere else in the world. One would think that this would be an advantage rather than a disadvantage for Britain, as British citizens therefore have four teams to support rather than just one. Alas, however, this has not turned out to be the case in practice, and has been used by enemies of the British nation to divide the country.
During Home Internationals it is quite natural and praiseworthy to support your own particular ancestral or favourite part of the nation, so all those with Scottish connections (including this present writer) would always support Scotland against England (as also Northern Ireland and Wales against England for that matter!) - but this should surely NEVER be the case when other parts of the UK are playing foreign opposition (and we do NOT regard countries of the core Commonwealth as foreign!).
Over more recent years, alas, it has become increasingly common for a number of disloyal Scots to "boast" that they support ANY other team which plays England - and this regrettably has been most notable during the current World Cup competition, even up to the level of the so-called First Minister of Scotland. During the last occasion when Scotland qualified for a World Cup finals but England didn't (Argentina in 1978) English supporters gave their almost universal support to their brother Scots, and it was very difficult to find anyone in England who wasn't rooting for Munster rather than Biarritz during this year's Heineken Cup Final. So why therefore do so many present-day Scots evidently adopt this sick and indeed treacherous attitude?
What makes this spectre even more obscene is that apparently a particular "favourite" alternative team which disloyal Scots are supporting this year is Trinidad and Tobago - a side which doesn't appear to contain many fellow-Kelts! Scotland has produced more than its fair share of geniuses over the years, such men as Alexander Fleming, Adam Smith, James Watt, Mungo Park, John Dunlop and Robert Burns, as well a consistent line of leading British sportsmen and sportswomen, such as Jim Baxter, Gavin Hastings, Colin Montgomery, Liz McColgan, Mike Denness and David Coulthard. By supporting a third-world team rather than their English brothers this coterie of sickly Scots are surely insulting the memory of all of them.
For all true British patriots around the world there are only two teams to support in the current World Cup - England and Australia (though perhaps we should wish the United States well). In the long run, however, there is only one solution to this most worrying and retrograde development, namely that all sports should start fielding united "British Lions"-style teams in all future international competitions.

EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB EMPIRE DAY BUFFET
This year's Empire Day Buffet staged by the Empire Loyalist Club proved to be a well-attended and highly successful event, and confirmed that all the organisation's problems of last year are now well and truly over.
The evening began with a rousing rendition of "Waltzing Matilda" by Mr. Robin Willow, after which two most informative and encouraging speeches were given by the guests of honours, Dr Frank and Dr Amy McGrath, both of whom are leading members of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement. In their talks both Frank and Amy McGrath gave clear overviews about the current constitutional position of Australia, and gave uplifting accounts of how the 1999 Referendum was won. Of particular note in this regard was the information that the leadership of Australians for Constitutional Monarchy was very young (many only in their 20s), and how the younger generation of Australians tended to be far more pro-monarchy than the middle-aged generation. The evening concluded with a sumptuous array of buffet-snacks being provided, and with good camaraderie at he bar.
The only sad note of the evening was the devastating news that Susan, the former manageress of the Dover Street Clarence who always looked after us so well in the past, had tragically died of malaria after a recent visit to Kenya. A minute's silence was therefore observed for her and for Eric Forth MP at the conclusion of the meeting.

RECENT REPORT FROM THE ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to John Gillon and the Hwange Conservation Society (UK) for their donation of spares for the National Parks land-rovers in Hwange National Park. The spares, valued at around ZW$500 million, arrived on British Airways two weeks ago and have been delivered to Hwange. Due to the current economic problems in the country, National Parks have been struggling to maintain their vehicles in Hwange National Park and it is impossible for them to operate efficiently without transport. They need the land-rovers for anti-poaching patrols and to ensure the regular maintenance of the pumps and pump engines. A special thanks to Christine Shields who organized a very successful Valentine's Dinner/Dance in aid of the Hwange Crisis. The money raised has enabled us to pay the duty on the land-rover spares and also covered the expenses involved in delivering the parts to Hwange. A big thank you to all those involved in this fundraiser and to all the people who supported it. There is still some money left in the kitty which we are putting towards another load of fuel for Hwange National Park. Their fuel tanks are dry again and fuel will be needed for the vehicles once they have been repaired. There is still a lot to be done in Hwange. We still need to get more pump engines and spares and fuel is an ongoing problem. If anyone can assist with anything at all, we would be most grateful. Our contact details are as follows :-

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR 2001 AUSTRALIAN CENSUS REPORT
In the May edition of the SCN we carried a most inspiring report entitled "More Encouraging News From Australia", which showed that attempts by the pro-multi-cultural lobby to portray Australia as a country with a substantial multi-ethnic population was false, and that Australia was still an overwhelmingly White country. Unfortunately we neglected to give full acknowledgements in this article to our good friend and supporter Nick Maine from Queensland, who had sent us the original statistics upon which this article was based. Nick and his "New Anzac" colleagues are true heroes of the Australian struggle, and through their continuous efforts over recent years have helped to stymie attempts by the multi-cultural traitors to turn Australia into a "rainbow nation". These 2001 Census figures therefore confirm how successful the "New Anzacs" have been, which is an inspiration to all patriotic activists around the Western World.
In a way it is rather like the situation in the UK, where the pro-multi-cultural lobby also tried to exaggerate the non-White population of the country for their own nefarious reasons - though where the 2001 British census confirmed that non-White numbers were actually far less than they claimed. In this regard it is particularly interesting to recall how Muslim leaders tried to claim that their numbers in the country were some 2 million so that they could claim more influence and government handouts etc., and as a result mosques encouraged their adherents to "invent" extra family members on their Census forms. Even with all these false numbers, however, the final count showed that the Muslim population was actually about one-and-a-half million - i.e. only three-quarters of what they claimed!

ROGUES GALLERY
Many readers will probably recall the problems we encountered from an obscure outfit calling itself the "Conservative Democratic Alliance" a short while ago. We thought that we'd heard the last from this small bunch of malcontents, but alas a supporter has recently alerted us to a further childish smear campaign which they have mounted against us on their web-site.
Why this CDA outfit should be concerned with our movement remains a mystery, for we appear to operate on totally different wavelengths. They are an overtly political organisation concerned only with internal issues, whereas we of course are a global social and patriotic movement with a specific interest in southern Africa, and with only a minor political dimension. The ideology of the CDA seems in any case to be very mixed-up and confused, advocating some very left-wing policies and other far more right-wing ideas. Here, however, may lie a clue to their renewed inexplicable antagonism towards us. Their latest smear campaign against us appears to have begun because some of their supporters took exception to our criticisms of the equally mixed-up and confused BNP fascist organisation in last month's SCN. At the time of the previous smear campaign against us one of our members described the CDA as "The BNP without the jackboots", so there may therefore be a lot of truth in this observation.
Of equal interest is the fact that the three main instigators of this current smear campaign seem to be the same trouble-makers who caused us problems in the past, namely Mike "Scruffy" Smith (who threatened to call the police after a leading LSC officials remonstrated with him concerning his previous vile smear campaign at a LSC meeting where he was most unwelcome), the certifiably insane Arabist Francis "Fruitcake" Andrew (a recent example of Fruitcake's lunacy is his laughable assertion on the CDA's web-site that we are not concerned about Britain's immigration problem!) and the revolting Gregory Frauder-Lost, of whom the less said the better.
Happily we do not seem to be alone in attracting the CDA's venom however, because they appear to have no other motivation apart from making enemies for themselves - most of them needless. They have been particularly antagonistic towards the present British Conservative Party leadership (so why therefore do they call themselves "Conservative" we wonder?), and have engaged in a particularly vicious vendetta campaign with one group of left-wing activists which resulted in a court case. This leftist grouping has furthermore now initiated their own web-site devoted to exposing the unnecessary confrontational antics of "Scruffy" Smith and the CDA. Although viewed from a very left-wing perspective, this web-site even so contains a lot of very interesting information, as well as a number of most amusing pictures and cartoons of Smith - who they nickname "Lard Brain"! By adopting such continuous confrontational attitudes the CDA leadership has therefore committed the classic military blunder of fighting wars on two fronts (or in their case maybe three fronts) at the same time. They will suffer accordingly.

As the Soccer World Cup approaches, the attention of the whole world centres on Germany - even among those like most South Africans whose favourite sport is not soccer.
In the UK context, however, a most dark and worrying spectre has raised its ugly head. For historical reasons the various regions of the Britain Isles have always competed on an individual basis in international soccer competitions - an anomaly unknown anywhere else in the world. One would think that this would be an advantage rather than a disadvantage for Britain, as British citizens therefore have four teams to support rather than just one. Alas, however, this has not turned out to be the case in practice, and has been used by enemies of the British nation to divide the country.
During Home Internationals it is quite natural and praiseworthy to support your own particular ancestral or favourite part of the nation, so all those with Scottish connections (including this present writer) would always support Scotland against England (as also Northern Ireland and Wales against England for that matter!) - but this should surely NEVER be the case when other parts of the UK are playing foreign opposition (and we do NOT regard countries of the core Commonwealth as foreign!).
Over more recent years, alas, it has become increasingly common for a number of disloyal Scots to "boast" that they support ANY other team which plays England - and this regrettably has been most notable during the current World Cup competition, even up to the level of the so-called First Minister of Scotland. During the last occasion when Scotland qualified for a World Cup finals but England didn't (Argentina in 1978) English supporters gave their almost universal support to their brother Scots, and it was very difficult to find anyone in England who wasn't rooting for Munster rather than Biarritz during this year's Heineken Cup Final. So why therefore do so many present-day Scots evidently adopt this sick and indeed treacherous attitude?
What makes this spectre even more obscene is that apparently a particular "favourite" alternative team which disloyal Scots are supporting this year is Trinidad and Tobago - a side which doesn't appear to contain many fellow-Kelts! Scotland has produced more than its fair share of geniuses over the years, such men as Alexander Fleming, Adam Smith, James Watt, Mungo Park, John Dunlop and Robert Burns, as well a consistent line of leading British sportsmen and sportswomen, such as Jim Baxter, Gavin Hastings, Colin Montgomery, Liz McColgan, Mike Denness and David Coulthard. By supporting a third-world team rather than their English brothers this coterie of sickly Scots are surely insulting the memory of all of them.
For all true British patriots around the world there are only two teams to support in the current World Cup - England and Australia (though perhaps we should wish the United States well). In the long run, however, there is only one solution to this most worrying and retrograde development, namely that all sports should start fielding united "British Lions"-style teams in all future international competitions.

EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB EMPIRE DAY BUFFET
This year's Empire Day Buffet staged by the Empire Loyalist Club proved to be a well-attended and highly successful event, and confirmed that all the organisation's problems of last year are now well and truly over.
The evening began with a rousing rendition of "Waltzing Matilda" by Mr. Robin Willow, after which two most informative and encouraging speeches were given by the guests of honours, Dr Frank and Dr Amy McGrath, both of whom are leading members of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement. In their talks both Frank and Amy McGrath gave clear overviews about the current constitutional position of Australia, and gave uplifting accounts of how the 1999 Referendum was won. Of particular note in this regard was the information that the leadership of Australians for Constitutional Monarchy was very young (many only in their 20s), and how the younger generation of Australians tended to be far more pro-monarchy than the middle-aged generation. The evening concluded with a sumptuous array of buffet-snacks being provided, and with good camaraderie at he bar.
The only sad note of the evening was the devastating news that Susan, the former manageress of the Dover Street Clarence who always looked after us so well in the past, had tragically died of malaria after a recent visit to Kenya. A minute's silence was therefore observed for her and for Eric Forth MP at the conclusion of the meeting.

RECENT REPORT FROM THE ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to John Gillon and the Hwange Conservation Society (UK) for their donation of spares for the National Parks land-rovers in Hwange National Park. The spares, valued at around ZW$500 million, arrived on British Airways two weeks ago and have been delivered to Hwange. Due to the current economic problems in the country, National Parks have been struggling to maintain their vehicles in Hwange National Park and it is impossible for them to operate efficiently without transport. They need the land-rovers for anti-poaching patrols and to ensure the regular maintenance of the pumps and pump engines. A special thanks to Christine Shields who organized a very successful Valentine's Dinner/Dance in aid of the Hwange Crisis. The money raised has enabled us to pay the duty on the land-rover spares and also covered the expenses involved in delivering the parts to Hwange. A big thank you to all those involved in this fundraiser and to all the people who supported it. There is still some money left in the kitty which we are putting towards another load of fuel for Hwange National Park. Their fuel tanks are dry again and fuel will be needed for the vehicles once they have been repaired. There is still a lot to be done in Hwange. We still need to get more pump engines and spares and fuel is an ongoing problem. If anyone can assist with anything at all, we would be most grateful. Our contact details are as follows :-

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR 2001 AUSTRALIAN CENSUS REPORT
In the May edition of the SCN we carried a most inspiring report entitled "More Encouraging News From Australia", which showed that attempts by the pro-multi-cultural lobby to portray Australia as a country with a substantial multi-ethnic population was false, and that Australia was still an overwhelmingly White country. Unfortunately we neglected to give full acknowledgements in this article to our good friend and supporter Nick Maine from Queensland, who had sent us the original statistics upon which this article was based. Nick and his "New Anzac" colleagues are true heroes of the Australian struggle, and through their continuous efforts over recent years have helped to stymie attempts by the multi-cultural traitors to turn Australia into a "rainbow nation". These 2001 Census figures therefore confirm how successful the "New Anzacs" have been, which is an inspiration to all patriotic activists around the Western World.
In a way it is rather like the situation in the UK, where the pro-multi-cultural lobby also tried to exaggerate the non-White population of the country for their own nefarious reasons - though where the 2001 British census confirmed that non-White numbers were actually far less than they claimed. In this regard it is particularly interesting to recall how Muslim leaders tried to claim that their numbers in the country were some 2 million so that they could claim more influence and government handouts etc., and as a result mosques encouraged their adherents to "invent" extra family members on their Census forms. Even with all these false numbers, however, the final count showed that the Muslim population was actually about one-and-a-half million - i.e. only three-quarters of what they claimed!

Keith Pinchen, then only a relatively young man, helped to organise the Bulawayo leg of the tour of Rhodesia by officials of the "Save Rhodesia Campaign" of South Africa in 1978. Alas nothing further was heard of him after the fall of Rhodesia the following year, but we would very keen to learn whatever happened to him.

ROGUES GALLERY
Many readers will probably recall the problems we encountered from an obscure outfit calling itself the "Conservative Democratic Alliance" a short while ago. We thought that we'd heard the last from this small bunch of malcontents, but alas a supporter has recently alerted us to a further childish smear campaign which they have mounted against us on their web-site.
Why this CDA outfit should be concerned with our movement remains a mystery, for we appear to operate on totally different wavelengths. They are an overtly political organisation concerned only with internal issues, whereas we of course are a global social and patriotic movement with a specific interest in southern Africa, and with only a minor political dimension. The ideology of the CDA seems in any case to be very mixed-up and confused, advocating some very left-wing policies and other far more right-wing ideas. Here, however, may lie a clue to their renewed inexplicable antagonism towards us. Their latest smear campaign against us appears to have begun because some of their supporters took exception to our criticisms of the equally mixed-up and confused BNP fascist organisation in last month's SCN. At the time of the previous smear campaign against us one of our members described the CDA as "The BNP without the jackboots", so there may therefore be a lot of truth in this observation.
Of equal interest is the fact that the three main instigators of this current smear campaign seem to be the same trouble-makers who caused us problems in the past, namely Mike "Scruffy" Smith (who threatened to call the police after a leading LSC officials remonstrated with him concerning his previous vile smear campaign at a LSC meeting where he was most unwelcome), the certifiably insane Arabist Francis "Fruitcake" Andrew (a recent example of Fruitcake's lunacy is his laughable assertion on the CDA's web-site that we are not concerned about Britain's immigration problem!) and the revolting Gregory Frauder-Lost, of whom the less said the better.
Happily we do not seem to be alone in attracting the CDA's venom however, because they appear to have no other motivation apart from making enemies for themselves - most of them needless. They have been particularly antagonistic towards the present British Conservative Party leadership (so why therefore do they call themselves "Conservative" we wonder?), and have engaged in a particularly vicious vendetta campaign with one group of left-wing activists which resulted in a court case. This leftist grouping has furthermore now initiated their own web-site devoted to exposing the unnecessary confrontational antics of "Scruffy" Smith and the CDA. Although viewed from a very left-wing perspective, this web-site even so contains a lot of very interesting information, as well as a number of most amusing pictures and cartoons of Smith - who they nickname "Lard Brain"! By adopting such continuous confrontational attitudes the CDA leadership has therefore committed the classic military blunder of fighting wars on two fronts (or in their case maybe three fronts) at the same time. They will suffer accordingly.

Although we have been criticised in the past for dwelling on matters of internal British political interest, we feel even so that the recent local government elections in England were of great significance, and therefore have a bearing not only upon Britain's future, but also upon the Western World as a whole.
With Tony Blair's "new" Labour now in self-destruct mode, and the Liberal Democrats reeling from scandals and internal division, it was reasonable to expect that the Conservative Party would therefore make massive gains. Although the results for the CP in David Cameron's first major electoral test as leader were good, in the circumstances they were alas nowhere good enough.
The main beneficiaries tended to be the smaller parties, UKIP and the Greens - but also most worryingly the vile extremist Respect Party and the so-called British National Party (BNP). In spite of the fact that this BNP has sinisterly gained a reputation for being "right-wing" and "ultra-conservative" in the media, in reality nothing could be further from the truth. As Lord Tebbit (the respected Conservative statesman and political analyst) accurately observed, the BNP is in actual fact a racist LEFT-wing party. He was perfectly correct.
Lord Tebbit emphasised this point by quoting from the BNP's own manifesto, in which they advocated a [socialist] centralised controlled economy, and even a return to the failed policy of nationalisation! To these examples could be added the far more damning evidence that the BNP did not support the War against Terrorism in Iraq (thus indicating that their racialism is anti-White rather than pro-White!), do not support the introduction of I.D. cards (which in view of the alleged high number of convicted criminals in their ranks is probably not surprising!) - and the recent revelation that one of their leading officials directed a pornographic homosexual movie! Hardly what can be described as a "right-wing" or an "ultra-conservative" party therefore!
So why therefore did so many voters from council estates vote for them? The answer is probably a mixture between naivety and political ignorance, and a "cry for help". Britain's "multi-cultural" experiment has proved to be an unmitigated disaster, and non-British immigration is once again rising after being virtually halted during the Thatcher years - and the people who are suffering most from these twin spectres are those living on the front-line: the salt-of-the-earth working-class gut-patriots from the council estates.
Alas both of the authentic parties of the Right in Britain (the CP and UKIP) seem to be cowered by "political correctness" at the moment, and as a result are frightened to speak out against the insidious threats posed to the British nation both by continuing "multi-culturalism" and by escalating unassimilable immigration (Eastern European as well as non-White). If either party was to grasp the nettle and have the courage to defy "political correctness" on these issues then not only would they undoubtedly reap rich electoral dividends and save the British nation from increasing danger, but the crypto-fascist Lefties of the so-called BNP would be consigned to the gutter where they belong.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB VISIT TO CECIL RHODES'S BIRTHPLACE
The SC/ELC staged a visit to the Bishop's Stortford Museum last month, which is housed in the very building where Cecil John Rhodes was born on 5th July 1853. The Springbok Club had previously visited this museum in January 2000, but unfortunately this year's trip proved to be a bitter disappointment - for in the intervening years "political correctness" seems to have infected the museum. Gone where the bed where Rhodes was actually born, his early cradle, and the Northern and Southern Rhodesian coat-of-arms on the side of the building, and indeed only three of the rooms in the museum remained dedicated to Rhodes himself - one of these containing some most offensive comments and artefacts! Of far more encouragement, however, was the fact that several of the museum staff seemed equally angered by these unnecessary changes, and indeed encouraged everyone to post objections in their "Suggestion Box". We therefore encourage all supporters who are able to visit this museum in future to do likewise. In spite of this disappointment, and the fact that the numbers in attendance were somewhat lower than anticipated, it even so proved to be a most happy trip, with some most convivial and fruitful discussions taking place in a near-by hostelry afterwards.

Birkenhead-born Dr. Frank McGrath and his Melbourne-born wife Amy both studied history at the University of Sydney where they both gained PhDs, Frank with a thesis on the Australian Constitution and Amy with a thesis on the history of medical organisations. Frank went on to become a practising lawyer and was appointed Chief Judge of the Compensation Court of New South Wales. Both are active members of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement, with Amy being a member of the management committee and Frank a committee member of the Constitution Educational Foundation of Australia. In their talk they will tell of the work of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement and of the current state of pro-monarchy and pro-British sentiment in Australia, with particular regard to the 1999 Referendum victory.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB ACTIVITIES
On Tuesday 13th June the Empire Loyalist Club/Springbok Club will be staging a meeting to be addressed by the well-known award-winning travel writer Mr. James Lewis, who is also a leading official of "The Global Association of Welsh, Irish, Scots and English" (WISE). This meeting will be held at The Clarence, 53 Whitehall, London W1, commencing at 19.15 hrs.
In July the Springbok Club will be staging a buffet to celebrate Rhodes and Founders Day, at which a prominent Rhodesian armed forces chief will be Guest of Honour.
In August the ELC will be staging a meeting at which a visiting Australian patriot and long-standing supporter of the movement will be guest speaker.
In September the ELC anticipates holding a meeting at which the wife of a leading commander of British forces during the Falklands War will be guest speaker.

OVERSEAS CO-ORDINATORS REQUIRED
If the Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC continues to grow and inspire, unfortunately the exact opposite must be said of the organisation's structure in Canada. Mr. John Beattie was appointed as the SC/ELC's Canadian Co-ordinator a few years ago, and initially seemed very keen and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, however, Mr. Beattie failed to organise any activities, and only circulated an irregular "Springbok Canada" cyber-newsletter which contained little in the way of news or reports but merely waffle. Mr. Beattie has now however announced that he wishes to abandon his responsibilities, citing alleged "lack of response" as his reason. We would humbly suggest, however, that any "lack of response" was probably due to Mr. Beattie's own inaction rather than the fault of our many other supporters in Canada. Mr. Beattie evidently runs his own so-called "British People's League", and it would appear that he only took on the position as the SC/ELC's Canadian Co-ordinator for what he thought this organisation could get out of it, rather than what he could contribute to it - a similar state of affairs which sadly seemed to be the case with one of the movement's former U.S. Co-ordinators.
The SC/ELC is now therefore looking for a new Co-ordinator in Canada - as well as in Australia, the U.S. and mainland Europe (happily we can report that a Co-ordinator for New Zealand has recently been appointed). LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle had a sad set-back last month when they were informed that their planned guest speaker, Mr. Eric Forth MP, had been taken seriously ill and wouldn't be able to attend. As most supporters will probably know by now, Mr. Forth tragically died a few days later, and a brief obituary to this great parliamentarian appears later in this edition of the SCN. In his place Prof. Alan Sked, a senior lecturer in history at the London School of Economics, agreed to speak to the LSC, and gave an interesting - if slightly controversial - talk on the current nature of conservatism in the UK.
The LSC's supporting publication, "Tough Talking From The Right", staged a highly successful and enjoyable buffet last month, at which the guest speaker was Mr. Roger Helmer, a Conservative MEP for the East Midlands. Mr. Helmer gave a masterful account of the sinister machinations of the European Union, but also gave optimistic reports of the growing impact of Euroscepticism in many of the member states.
On Tuesday 18th July the LSC will be welcoming Mr. Douglas Carswell MP as guest speaker. Mr. Carswell was elected as the Conservative member of Parliament for Harwich at the 2005 General Election, and is a leading member of the "Better Off Out" campaign. Fuller details will be included in next month's SCN.

MEDIA RELEASE FROM "EARTHLIFE AFRICA"
We have recently received a number of disturbing reports regarding the sinister detainment of the marine mammal protection vessel 'Farley Mowat' in Cape Town Harbour by the "new" South African authorities. Attached below is a copy of a relevant media statement released by the 'Earthlife Africa' organisation :-
"The detainment of the 'Farley Mowat', the direct action arm of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, whose aim is to protect whales, seals and marine life, on what appear to be spurious reasons, is cause for grave concern. The media have reported this to be on behest of the Canadian and Japanese governments, and if this is true, this is an affront to most South Africans. Surely we should not be dancing to the tune of whaling nations when South Africa is a signatory to the anti-whaling moratorium. South Africa, as a signatory of the anti-whaling moratorium should be policing whaling vessels, rather than those protecting the whales.
"In principle, 'Earthlife Africa' supports those groups like Sea Shepherds which endeavour to prevent the killing of whales by the Japanese, who in spite of the moratorium prohibiting the killing of whales continue to do so claiming that they take these actions (the killing of 900 whales annually) for scientific reasons. The actions of the South African Government in detaining this ship appear to fly in the face of our own tourist industry, which earns millions of Rands annually from the wonderful sight of these giant and graceful creatures which frequent our shores."

MORE ENCOURAGING NEWS FROM AUSTRALIA
Recently released figures from the 2001 Australian Census have given the lie to the oft-quoted claim that Australia has somehow become a multi-racial country. Over 90% of the Australian population are shown to be fully or mainly of British descent, with the total White population being approximately 93% to 94%. Of the non-White populations in Australia only the Chinese at 3.2% are in any way significant. All other non-White groups account for less than 1% of the population - including the exaggerated Lebanese presence and even more surprisingly the Australian Aboriginals.

LATEST FALKLANDS NEWS
The following report by Harold Briley, the former BBC Latin America Correspondent, has recently been received :-
The news that the BBC World Service is axing its dedicated and historic 'Calling the Falklands' programme has caused dismay and anger among Falklands supporters in the UK who believe it is an ill-timed error of judgment by the BBC and Foreign Office, who finance the programme. These supporters are campaigning for continuation of the programme with backing from MPs, who have demonstrated strong support for the Islanders in their determined resistance to intensified Argentine economic and diplomatic aggression in that country’s unrelenting campaign to secure sovereignty over the 2,400 islanders.
Argentina continues to hamper tourism to the Islands by restricting air services, objects to Falklands offshore oil prospecting and recently seized a Falklands fishing boat, falsely accusing it of fishing in Argentine waters.
The Conservative Party Secretary of the All-Party Falklands Group in Parliament, Andrew Rosindell, is requesting that the BBC Director General explain the decision to the MPs. Rosindell, who has visited the Falkland Islands, says: "For the tiny amount of money saved, the decision will be interpreted in Buenos Aires as a sign that the British Government does not believe it is important to maintain links with the Falklands."
The Governor evicted by the Argentines in the invasion, Sir Rex Hunt, also supports retention of the programme. Throughout the conflict he broadcast many times on 'Calling the Falklands' to the captive Islanders. He pays handsome tribute to the BBC in his book 'My Falkland Days'. He speaks with unrivalled authority and first-hand experience. He was listening to World Service reports of the unfolding drama on the day of the invasion, sheltering under a table in Government House, pistol in hand, to help defend it.
Islanders complain they learned of the decision to ditch the programme only after secret talks involving the Falklands Government, without public consultation. A strong critic is the programme's long-term presenter, Falkland Islander Graham Bound, who asserts that the programme could be saved and updated at comparatively little cost. He advocates a review of the programme, which was never done, combined with real consultation with the Islanders. "This", he says, "could devise a new-look programme, with more suitable scheduling, perhaps abandoning its current form altogether, to amalgamate with the Falkland Islands Broadcasting Service news as a series of London-produced packages. It would still have the Falklands media's means of approaching issues in the wider world through the BBC’s unrivalled network." His words carry more weight than most as he is an expert on the Falklands media, as a journalist who witnessed the 1982 invasion, listened like most Islanders to the programme day in and day out, founded the Falklands only newspaper, "The Penguin News", and wrote an acclaimed book on the courageous part Islanders played in their own liberation. He has been a Falklands Government press officer and is now a respected senior Ministry of Defence information officer, having served in Iraq where he again witnessed the value of BBC World Service news.
Abolishing the two 15-minute programmes a week will save comparatively little money in the BBC’s huge budget. The alternative package of training and programmes offered by the BBC for re-broadcast for the Islands media is welcome as far as it goes, but seems to offer little more than was available previously.

BLACK HOLE
Sir,
We have just learnt that the poverty datum-line for a family of 6 is 21 million dollars a month, so when you take into account that some school teachers nurses and civil servants earn about 5 million a month we are the poorest millionaires in the world. I have to keep on saving this e-mail as I am afraid we are going to loose power as they switch off the electricity at the most inconvenient times, i.e. meal times and any other time it suits them. My son says this is only a taste, and we will loose power for days not hours. The son of a fellow I work with went up to Troutbeck and tells us they only had electricity for 2 hours a day. Wonderful for a holiday resort isn't it! We have so few visitors into the country now and they are making it more and more expensive for motoring tourists to visit. I am not going to bore you with details, but foreign visitors have to pay between 72 and 300 US dollars a month for motor visas, and they are also setting up toll points on roads that require expert pot-hole drivers to negotiate.

In the February 2006 edition of the SCN we told of the trouble which we had experienced from a character named Guenther Zorn from Vienna in Austria. Alas this pathetic individual continues to plague us with a series of defamatory and offensive e-mails. Previously we had not been certain whether he was really a supporter of the Afrikaner people (as he claimed) with some form of communication problem, or whether he was a deliberate ANC-supporting agent provocateur. In his latest antagonistic e-mail he however really let the cat out of the bag, when he stated "ZA, ZW and other former British countries will remain black. Because of your unability to change something. Mbeki etc etc are the hard facts" [sic]. This surely says it all! Herr Zorn is certainly a person who all true South African patriots should therefore avoid!

OBITUARY
ERIC FORTH MP
It was with great sadness that we recently learnt of the sudden death of Eric Forth MP at the tragically early age of 61. Although Eric Forth had never addressed the SC/ELC, he had spoken to our fraternal organisation the London Swinton Circle in the past, where he created an extremely positive impression. Whilst a member of Margaret Thatcher's government during the 1980s he had pressed strongly for normal relations with then NP-governed South Africa, and also criticised William Hague for supporting an "electoral compact" drawn up by the "Commission for Racial Equality", stating: "All this sucking up to minorities is ridiculous; there are millions of people in this country who are White, and they need to be represented." The current British Conservative Party certainly needs more MPs of the calibre of Eric Forth.

Although we have been criticised in the past for dwelling on matters of internal British political interest, we feel even so that the recent local government elections in England were of great significance, and therefore have a bearing not only upon Britain's future, but also upon the Western World as a whole.
With Tony Blair's "new" Labour now in self-destruct mode, and the Liberal Democrats reeling from scandals and internal division, it was reasonable to expect that the Conservative Party would therefore make massive gains. Although the results for the CP in David Cameron's first major electoral test as leader were good, in the circumstances they were alas nowhere good enough.
The main beneficiaries tended to be the smaller parties, UKIP and the Greens - but also most worryingly the vile extremist Respect Party and the so-called British National Party (BNP). In spite of the fact that this BNP has sinisterly gained a reputation for being "right-wing" and "ultra-conservative" in the media, in reality nothing could be further from the truth. As Lord Tebbit (the respected Conservative statesman and political analyst) accurately observed, the BNP is in actual fact a racist LEFT-wing party. He was perfectly correct.
Lord Tebbit emphasised this point by quoting from the BNP's own manifesto, in which they advocated a [socialist] centralised controlled economy, and even a return to the failed policy of nationalisation! To these examples could be added the far more damning evidence that the BNP did not support the War against Terrorism in Iraq (thus indicating that their racialism is anti-White rather than pro-White!), do not support the introduction of I.D. cards (which in view of the alleged high number of convicted criminals in their ranks is probably not surprising!) - and the recent revelation that one of their leading officials directed a pornographic homosexual movie! Hardly what can be described as a "right-wing" or an "ultra-conservative" party therefore!
So why therefore did so many voters from council estates vote for them? The answer is probably a mixture between naivety and political ignorance, and a "cry for help". Britain's "multi-cultural" experiment has proved to be an unmitigated disaster, and non-British immigration is once again rising after being virtually halted during the Thatcher years - and the people who are suffering most from these twin spectres are those living on the front-line: the salt-of-the-earth working-class gut-patriots from the council estates.
Alas both of the authentic parties of the Right in Britain (the CP and UKIP) seem to be cowered by "political correctness" at the moment, and as a result are frightened to speak out against the insidious threats posed to the British nation both by continuing "multi-culturalism" and by escalating unassimilable immigration (Eastern European as well as non-White). If either party was to grasp the nettle and have the courage to defy "political correctness" on these issues then not only would they undoubtedly reap rich electoral dividends and save the British nation from increasing danger, but the crypto-fascist Lefties of the so-called BNP would be consigned to the gutter where they belong.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/EMPIRE LOYALIST CLUB VISIT TO CECIL RHODES'S BIRTHPLACE
The SC/ELC staged a visit to the Bishop's Stortford Museum last month, which is housed in the very building where Cecil John Rhodes was born on 5th July 1853. The Springbok Club had previously visited this museum in January 2000, but unfortunately this year's trip proved to be a bitter disappointment - for in the intervening years "political correctness" seems to have infected the museum. Gone where the bed where Rhodes was actually born, his early cradle, and the Northern and Southern Rhodesian coat-of-arms on the side of the building, and indeed only three of the rooms in the museum remained dedicated to Rhodes himself - one of these containing some most offensive comments and artefacts! Of far more encouragement, however, was the fact that several of the museum staff seemed equally angered by these unnecessary changes, and indeed encouraged everyone to post objections in their "Suggestion Box". We therefore encourage all supporters who are able to visit this museum in future to do likewise. In spite of this disappointment, and the fact that the numbers in attendance were somewhat lower than anticipated, it even so proved to be a most happy trip, with some most convivial and fruitful discussions taking place in a near-by hostelry afterwards.

Birkenhead-born Dr. Frank McGrath and his Melbourne-born wife Amy both studied history at the University of Sydney where they both gained PhDs, Frank with a thesis on the Australian Constitution and Amy with a thesis on the history of medical organisations. Frank went on to become a practising lawyer and was appointed Chief Judge of the Compensation Court of New South Wales. Both are active members of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement, with Amy being a member of the management committee and Frank a committee member of the Constitution Educational Foundation of Australia. In their talk they will tell of the work of the Australians for Constitutional Monarchy movement and of the current state of pro-monarchy and pro-British sentiment in Australia, with particular regard to the 1999 Referendum victory.

On Tuesday 13th June the Empire Loyalist Club/Springbok Club will be staging a meeting to be addressed by the well-known award-winning travel writer Mr. James Lewis, who is also a leading official of "The Global Association of Welsh, Irish, Scots and English" (WISE). This meeting will be held at The Clarence, 53 Whitehall, London W1, commencing at 19.15 hrs.
In July the Springbok Club will be staging a buffet to celebrate Rhodes and Founders Day, at which a prominent Rhodesian armed forces chief will be Guest of Honour.
In August the ELC will be staging a meeting at which a visiting Australian patriot and long-standing supporter of the movement will be guest speaker.
In September the ELC anticipates holding a meeting at which the wife of a leading commander of British forces during the Falklands War will be guest speaker.

OVERSEAS CO-ORDINATORS REQUIRED
If the Northern Ireland Branch of the SC/ELC continues to grow and inspire, unfortunately the exact opposite must be said of the organisation's structure in Canada. Mr. John Beattie was appointed as the SC/ELC's Canadian Co-ordinator a few years ago, and initially seemed very keen and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, however, Mr. Beattie failed to organise any activities, and only circulated an irregular "Springbok Canada" cyber-newsletter which contained little in the way of news or reports but merely waffle. Mr. Beattie has now however announced that he wishes to abandon his responsibilities, citing alleged "lack of response" as his reason. We would humbly suggest, however, that any "lack of response" was probably due to Mr. Beattie's own inaction rather than the fault of our many other supporters in Canada. Mr. Beattie evidently runs his own so-called "British People's League", and it would appear that he only took on the position as the SC/ELC's Canadian Co-ordinator for what he thought this organisation could get out of it, rather than what he could contribute to it - a similar state of affairs which sadly seemed to be the case with one of the movement's former U.S. Co-ordinators.
The SC/ELC is now therefore looking for a new Co-ordinator in Canada - as well as in Australia, the U.S. and mainland Europe (happily we can report that a Co-ordinator for New Zealand has recently been appointed). LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle had a sad set-back last month when they were informed that their planned guest speaker, Mr. Eric Forth MP, had been taken seriously ill and wouldn't be able to attend. As most supporters will probably know by now, Mr. Forth tragically died a few days later, and a brief obituary to this great parliamentarian appears later in this edition of the SCN. In his place Prof. Alan Sked, a senior lecturer in history at the London School of Economics, agreed to speak to the LSC, and gave an interesting - if slightly controversial - talk on the current nature of conservatism in the UK.
The LSC's supporting publication, "Tough Talking From The Right", staged a highly successful and enjoyable buffet last month, at which the guest speaker was Mr. Roger Helmer, a Conservative MEP for the East Midlands. Mr. Helmer gave a masterful account of the sinister machinations of the European Union, but also gave optimistic reports of the growing impact of Euroscepticism in many of the member states.
On Tuesday 18th July the LSC will be welcoming Mr. Douglas Carswell MP as guest speaker. Mr. Carswell was elected as the Conservative member of Parliament for Harwich at the 2005 General Election, and is a leading member of the "Better Off Out" campaign. We have recently received a number of disturbing reports regarding the sinister detainment of the marine mammal protection vessel 'Farley Mowat' in Cape Town Harbour by the "new" South African authorities. Attached below is a copy of a relevant media statement released by the 'Earthlife Africa' organisation :-
"The detainment of the 'Farley Mowat', the direct action arm of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, whose aim is to protect whales, seals and marine life, on what appear to be spurious reasons, is cause for grave concern. The media have reported this to be on behest of the Canadian and Japanese governments, and if this is true, this is an affront to most South Africans. Surely we should not be dancing to the tune of whaling nations when South Africa is a signatory to the anti-whaling moratorium. South Africa, as a signatory of the anti-whaling moratorium should be policing whaling vessels, rather than those protecting the whales.
"In principle, 'Earthlife Africa' supports those groups like Sea Shepherds which endeavour to prevent the killing of whales by the Japanese, who in spite of the moratorium prohibiting the killing of whales continue to do so claiming that they take these actions (the killing of 900 whales annually) for scientific reasons. The actions of the South African Government in detaining this ship appear to fly in the face of our own tourist industry, which earns millions of Rands annually from the wonderful sight of these giant and graceful creatures which frequent our shores."

MORE ENCOURAGING NEWS FROM AUSTRALIA
Recently released figures from the 2001 Australian Census have given the lie to the oft-quoted claim that Australia has somehow become a multi-racial country. Over 90% of the Australian population are shown to be fully or mainly of British descent, with the total White population being approximately 93% to 94%. Of the non-White populations in Australia only the Chinese at 3.2% are in any way significant. All other non-White groups account for less than 1% of the population - including the exaggerated Lebanese presence and even more surprisingly the Australian Aboriginals.

The news that the BBC World Service is axing its dedicated and historic 'Calling the Falklands' programme has caused dismay and anger among Falklands supporters in the UK who believe it is an ill-timed error of judgment by the BBC and Foreign Office, who finance the programme. These supporters are campaigning for continuation of the programme with backing from MPs, who have demonstrated strong support for the Islanders in their determined resistance to intensified Argentine economic and diplomatic aggression in that country’s unrelenting campaign to secure sovereignty over the 2,400 islanders.
Argentina continues to hamper tourism to the Islands by restricting air services, objects to Falklands offshore oil prospecting and recently seized a Falklands fishing boat, falsely accusing it of fishing in Argentine waters.
The Conservative Party Secretary of the All-Party Falklands Group in Parliament, Andrew Rosindell, is requesting that the BBC Director General explain the decision to the MPs. Rosindell, who has visited the Falkland Islands, says: "For the tiny amount of money saved, the decision will be interpreted in Buenos Aires as a sign that the British Government does not believe it is important to maintain links with the Falklands."
The Governor evicted by the Argentines in the invasion, Sir Rex Hunt, also supports retention of the programme. Throughout the conflict he broadcast many times on 'Calling the Falklands' to the captive Islanders. He pays handsome tribute to the BBC in his book 'My Falkland Days'. He speaks with unrivalled authority and first-hand experience. He was listening to World Service reports of the unfolding drama on the day of the invasion, sheltering under a table in Government House, pistol in hand, to help defend it.
Islanders complain they learned of the decision to ditch the programme only after secret talks involving the Falklands Government, without public consultation. A strong critic is the programme's long-term presenter, Falkland Islander Graham Bound, who asserts that the programme could be saved and updated at comparatively little cost. He advocates a review of the programme, which was never done, combined with real consultation with the Islanders. "This", he says, "could devise a new-look programme, with more suitable scheduling, perhaps abandoning its current form altogether, to amalgamate with the Falkland Islands Broadcasting Service news as a series of London-produced packages. It would still have the Falklands media's means of approaching issues in the wider world through the BBC’s unrivalled network." His words carry more weight than most as he is an expert on the Falklands media, as a journalist who witnessed the 1982 invasion, listened like most Islanders to the programme day in and day out, founded the Falklands only newspaper, "The Penguin News", and wrote an acclaimed book on the courageous part Islanders played in their own liberation. He has been a Falklands Government press officer and is now a respected senior Ministry of Defence information officer, having served in Iraq where he again witnessed the value of BBC World Service news.
Abolishing the two 15-minute programmes a week will save comparatively little money in the BBC’s huge budget. The alternative package of training and programmes offered by the BBC for re-broadcast for the Islands media is welcome as far as it goes, but seems to offer little more than was available previously.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
BLACK HOLE
Sir,
We have just learnt that the poverty datum-line for a family of 6 is 21 million dollars a month, so when you take into account that some school teachers nurses and civil servants earn about 5 million a month we are the poorest millionaires in the world. I have to keep on saving this e-mail as I am afraid we are going to loose power as they switch off the electricity at the most inconvenient times, i.e. meal times and any other time it suits them. My son says this is only a taste, and we will loose power for days not hours. The son of a fellow I work with went up to Troutbeck and tells us they only had electricity for 2 hours a day. Wonderful for a holiday resort isn't it! We have so few visitors into the country now and they are making it more and more expensive for motoring tourists to visit. I am not going to bore you with details, but foreign visitors have to pay between 72 and 300 US dollars a month for motor visas, and they are also setting up toll points on roads that require expert pot-hole drivers to negotiate.

The tourists flocked to Zambia, Sir Ranulph Fiennes the explorer retraced DL's footsteps and I got a super interview from him when he got back, for the last issue of Spotlight.

ROGUES GALLERY
In the February 2006 edition of the SCN we told of the trouble which we had experienced from a character named Guenther Zorn from Vienna in Austria. Alas this pathetic individual continues to plague us with a series of defamatory and offensive e-mails. Previously we had not been certain whether he was really a supporter of the Afrikaner people (as he claimed) with some form of communication problem, or whether he was a deliberate ANC-supporting agent provocateur. In his latest antagonistic e-mail he however really let the cat out of the bag, when he stated "ZA, ZW and other former British countries will remain black. Because of your unability to change something. Mbeki etc etc are the hard facts" [sic]. This surely says it all! Herr Zorn is certainly a person who all true South African patriots should therefore avoid!

OBITUARY
ERIC FORTH MP
It was with great sadness that we recently learnt of the sudden death of Eric Forth MP at the tragically early age of 61. Although Eric Forth had never addressed the SC/ELC, he had spoken to our fraternal organisation the London Swinton Circle in the past, where he created an extremely positive impression. Whilst a member of Margaret Thatcher's government during the 1980s he had pressed strongly for normal relations with then NP-governed South Africa, and also criticised William Hague for supporting an "electoral compact" drawn up by the "Commission for Racial Equality", stating: "All this sucking up to minorities is ridiculous; there are millions of people in this country who are White, and they need to be represented." The current British Conservative Party certainly needs more MPs of the calibre of Eric Forth.
