In the February 2020 Edition of the SCN we observed how HRH The Duke of York had been accused – and then almost universally condemned – of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with an American teenager, Virginia Giuffre, without being given any opportunity to defend himself, and then having to pay a rumoured £12 million to the former sex-worker, even though there was no form of collaborated evidence produced against him which would have stood up in a court of law. We further observed that there was widespread speculation that pressure had been placed on the Duke by mysterious forces inside the Palace to “settle” at any price in order not to distract from the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
We have also commented about how the only “evidence” which has been produced to show that HRH The Duke of York ever met Ms.Giuffre, a re-produced photograph showing him with his arm round the young woman, was clearly fabricated, for if this photograph was genuine then he must have an extremely long left arm! More recently we have learnt that a PhotoShop expert has asserted that the angle of the Duke’s head in this notorious picture is clearly unnatural, thus confirming that it was faked, and even more devastatingly a picture has been produced showing that the bath in the London mews house of Ghislaine Maxwell where Ms.Giuffre claimed to share in a love tryst with the Duke was too small to hold two adult people!
The most significant development in this saga, however, has been the withdrawal of similar allegations made by Ms.Giuffre against Mr.Alan Dershowitz, the prominent New York lawyer, with her now stating clearly that her “identification of Dershowitz might have been a mistake”. As a result of this back-tracking by Ms.Giuffre the Duke is now evidently being advised to take legal action both to clear his name and to recover the estimated £12 million extortionate settlement figure which he had been forced to pay.
HRH The Duke of York of course enjoyed a distinguished career in the Royal Navy, serving for 22 years and rising to the rank of Vice Admiral. During the Falklands War he served with great bravery as a Sea King Helicopter pilot on board HMS Invincible, when his very life was constantly in danger. His subsequent RN career was no less illustrious, as he served in potentially dangerous patrols during the final days of the Cold War and the advent of international terrorism. After his Naval service was over he carried on serving his nation by becoming the UK’s Special Representative on International Trade and Investment. In this post he was very successful, in spite of being dubbed “Air Miles Andy” by the Leftist press (how else could anyone boost trade and investments without clocking up lots of Air Miles?), and managed to secure many beneficial trade deals and investments for Britain. To be sure, his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the American multi-millionaire financier, without checking his bona fides was naïve and damaging, but his motivation in trying to obtain massive investments from him into Britain was good.
So why therefore is HRH The Duke of York still being demonised in certain quarters, especially after the late Queen gave her ostentations support to him by insisting that he accompanied her in one of her last public appearances. The suggestion has been made that it is because of “sibling jealousy”, for after all the Duke was constantly more popular than his elder brother during their younger days. We hope that this speculation is incorrect, and that His Majesty The King will put an end to it by immediately restoring all of the Duke’s ranks and honours, and by allowing him to wear the Naval uniform to which he is fully entitled during the coronation ceremonies when he is not wearing his Ducal ermine robes.

Gavin Sandeman of course spoke at the Springbok Club's November buffet/meeting, when he read from some fascinating letters and diary entries written by his illustrious distant relative Cmd. E.C. "Teddy" Tyndale-Biscoe, who of course first raised the Union Flag over what became Salisbury, Rhodesia, in 1890. Unfortunately Gavin didn't have time to read all these letters and diary entries about life in Rhodesia during the 1890s on that occasion, so we have therefore invited him back to continue reading from these engrossing historical documents, and also to tell a bit more about the exploits of other members of his extended Sandeman family around the British Empire.
Gavin was proud to be born in 1946 when our King/Emperor George VI was on the Throne and we still had a worldwide Empire.
After school he went straight into advertising agency work during the "swinging sixties". He then migrated to Canada, before returning to work again in advertising and printing. He was made redundant in 2001 and thereafter worked for himself running a marketing agency; which he regards as the best days of his life.
His Edwardian and Victorian forebears travelled throughout the World to work and fight. Australia, India, Mesopotamia, Canada and Rhodesia all saw their presence. His Father was with landing craft flotillas in the Invasion of Italy, and gained an MBE.
Gavin is committed to fight against modern "wokery", the re-writing of our Imperial history, and all things connected with the desecration of our heritage.

In late March the Springbok Club will be staging a trip to Chislehurst in order to visit the famous Chislehurst Caves, and also the house where Emperor Napoleon III (Louis Napoleon) spent the final few years of his life. In late April the Kent Branch of the Springbok Club will be staging a visit to the famous Rochester Sweeps’ festival. More precise details about both these events will be given in next month’s SCN.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS
The Patriotic Forum held its annual Burns Night/Australia Day celebration last month (it was Australia Day in Australia itself at the time!). This proved to be a most pleasant event, with a haggis meal being enjoyed after the haggis was addressed in the traditional fashion, and a message of greetings from an Australian supporter was conveyed via WhatsApp. Earlier this month a number of Patriotic Forum members also celebrated New Zealand Day in a small but enthusiastic manner.

MESSAGE FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS ORGANISATION
We have recently received the following most concerning report from the Network for Animals organisation about the plight of domestic cats in Zimbabwe (the erstwhile Southern Rhodesia). It reads as follows :-
“Annabel and the other cats of Zimbabwe DESERVE THE BEST WE CAN GIVE THEM - modern enclosures, comfy beds and access to a safe space to play. Please, help us!
“All Annabelle did to end up abandoned at an animal shelter was BE A CAT in Zimbabwe! Please, will you help us help her and many other cats and kittens who have been discarded?
”Annabelle clawed at a carpet in her owners’ home, and when she was punished, her fear made her lose control of her bowels. This caused more ‘damage’ to the rug and made her owners even angrier. It was the final straw for these callous, cold-hearted people, and they dumped her at a shelter and drove away, never to think of her again. Annabelle is only a year old and she will most probably live out the rest of her life at the shelter.
”Every year, unwanted cats and kittens pour into the Friend Animal Foundation shelter - it is their last, and only, hope. It isn’t ‘home’, but it’s all they have.
“There are so many difficulties facing animals unlucky enough to be born in Zimbabwe. The country’s dreadful economic state means that there’s barely enough food for the people, let alone the animals. As a result, helpless animals are born into poverty, left to die of hunger or disease, or abused to death by brutal owners. Only the ‘luckiest’ of these little souls end up at our partner shelter in Harare, the Friend Animal Foundation (FAF).
”FAF is not ‘home’, but it is the closest thing to it for the shelter’s 110 dumped, discarded and homeless cats - just like Annabelle. Some have been abandoned because they are “costly” or no longer “cute kittens”; others were born on the streets and were fortunate enough to be saved by the FAF team. And many are simply feral, fearful and fresh out of hope.
“Cats in Harare CANNOT be left on the streets. They risk being harmed by evil people, hit by cars, or starving to death. They WILL die - it’s simply a matter of WHEN.
“All these sweet creatures deserve loving homes, but few Zimbabweans are interested in adopting animals, or have the means to do so. The cats currently live in specially built enclosures, and FAF has done its best to make these ‘homey’.
“But, having recently come back from the brink of closure, FAF’s resources are pitifully limited. The enclosures are in real need of improvement - the beds are old and stimulation for the cats is sorely lacking. They languish in these bleak areas day after day, year after year.
”Despite this, so many of the cats are friendly and affectionate, desperate for any little bit of human attention. They purr when you touch them and nuzzle in for cuddles and affection. They are just so sweet, and so grateful to be safe.
“Would you want your sickly, beloved pet to recover from illness in a dreary, concrete room devoid of warmth? Of course, you wouldn’t. The cats of FAF deserve better too!
“The cats at FAF are unlikely ever to be adopted, so we must make their enclosures as comfortable and homey as possible. The quarantine area for sickly cats is currently a dismal concrete area - totally unsuited to recovery from serious illness or injury. Would you want to recover in a place like this - or worse, let your beloved cat recover here, with little comfort or cheer?
”The quarantine area, as well as the areas in which the cats live, are in desperate need of refurbishment. FAF also has plans to improve the area in which the elderly cats live out their final years - they dream of giving them safe access to the garden and a sunny, warm space to enjoy their last days or months after suffering so much hardship.
“If, with your help, we can raise the $5,000 (£4,100) required, we can give the FAF cat enclosures the upliftment they desperately need. We can give the cats more space to move around, warmer and comfier beds, and brighter, happier spaces in which to live and recover from their heartbreaking ordeals.
“Your support will help make the animals so happy. It will change their lives!
“Please, will you be a friend to the cats of Friend Animal Foundation, and donate now? They deserve so much better than what life has dealt them thus far, and with your help, we can give them the happiness and comfort they desperately crave and deserve.

SUPPORT THE WOMEN NORDIC COMBINERS
The decision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to include a Women’s Nordic Combined event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo is to be utterly condemned. Nordic Combined is now therefore the only discipline in the Winter Olympics where there are not events for both genders. Women’s events in Nordic Combined may have been rather slow in coming about, but there have been Women’s Nordic Combined World Cup competitions for several years now, and a Women’s Nordic Combined event was included in the Nordic World Ski Championships of 2020. So why therefore has the IOC refused to sanction a similar event in the 2026 Winter Olympics? It seems to be for no other reason than pure sexism, which is surely unacceptable in the Olympic movement. At this year’s Women’s Nordic Combined World Cup events all competitors raised their ski-poles in an X-formation to signify “no eXception”, and one competitor, Gyda Westvold Hansen of Norway, painted a “beard” on her chin in protest. We of course fully support this protest by the Women Nordic Combiners, and hope that as many of our supporters as possible will sign their petition at :-

SOUND WORDS FROM WETHERSPOONS
The Springbok Club’s Burns Night Haggis Dinner was held at a Wetherspoons’ pub in central London, where copies of the current edition of the pub chain’s publication Wetherspoon News were found. This publication turned out to contain a very interesting feature entitled “Down with Declinism”, which was basically a re-print of an excellent article written by Prof. Robert Tombs of Cambridge University which appeared in The Spectator of 8 July 2017. The inclusion of this superbly written article had been prompted by a pessimistic and defeatist article written by Matthew Parris which appeared in The Times of 29 July 2022, and argued that sentiments similar to those expressed by Parris that Britain was somehow in terminal decline – especially as a result of Brexit – were totally false, and that Britain was not declining in economic power nor in global influence compared to other major world players, and that “Brexit was a vote of confidence in our ability to shape our future as an independent democratic nation”.
Although we may not agree with all the points made (the assertions that the British Empire did not bring great economic benefit to Britain and that the abandonment of Empire did not diminish Britain’s influence around the world are clearly wrong), Prof. Tombs is even so to be congratulated upon writing such a well-analysed article – and the management of Wetherspoons are to be congratulated upon re-printing it and circulating it so widely. As they accurately assert, pessimism and declinism (or as we would call it defeatism) are the main enemies being faced by the British nation today – something which manifests itself as “despair (from the right) and glee (from the left)”. It is obvious that the Left have a vested interest in asserting that Britain is in terminal decline – but why do so many from the so-called Right also peddle the declinist/defeatist lie? As we have often implied in the past – particularly in the editorial of the August 2022 Edition of the SCN, specifically regarding the acceptance by so many so-called patriots of the exaggerated ‘official’ figures of non-Whites living in he UK – those who claim to be on our side, but who willingly propagate defeatism and hopelessness, are more insidious enemies of our cause than our more overt foes. Let’s hope therefore that these defeatists somehow manage to read Prof.Tombs’ brilliant article!

SHAMEFUL DECISION BY SOUTH AFRICA RUGBY
Earlier this year South Africa Rugby (the governing body for Rugby Union in the “new” South Africa) invited the Israeli Rugby club Tel Aviv Heat to compete in a second-tier competition – but 24 hours later this invitation was withdrawn following pressure placed on South Africa Rugby by the anti-Semitic ANC regime. The ANC had of course always opposed the policy of separate development in South Africa (when teams were still allowed to compete in the country, albeit on a segregated basis) condemning it as “racist” – yet here they now are refusing to let a team compete in the country at all purely on the grounds of their race! The hypocrisy of the ANC regime – and the cowardice of South Africa Rugby in meekly kow-towing to the ANC’s demands - are sickening.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?
No.291: Ms. JANET HALE of Rhodesia and Durban
Janet Hale was a Rhodesian by birth, and worked for a while as a croupier at the Victoria Falls Casino. Tall and attractive, she moved south to Durban in the late 1970s, and became actively involved with the Durban Branch of the Save Rhodesia Campaign. Alas however she didn’t seem to understand what the organisation stood for, and objected when the SRC gave a platform to Dr.Colin Barlow, the leader of the Rhodesian Action Party, when he toured South Africa in late 1978, and resigned from the organisation as a result. She formed a close relationship with David Dodds, the Durban Branch’s official photographer (see August 2002 SCN), but it is not known whether they ever married. It would be very interesting to learn what became of her.

DRUG CULTURE
Sir,
The article about the Global Covid Summit which you circulated is an excellent piece. As I've said before, I really feel (from a medical perspective) that the genesis of this social control - or a good chunk of it - was America's opioid crisis.
Once America cruised into 2015, suddenly a media hysteria developed about opioids in America. In fact, there was some abuse because of deficiencies in prescription, but what quickly happened next was a manageable problem became a media sensation which then rapidly turned into (mainly) a street crisis. However, rather than go after the Mexican Cartels & illegal Chinese labs which support them, or the illegal aliens who peddle in the street opioids which really cause most of America's high opioid deaths, what happened was suddenly long-standing, life-saving medications like morphine, etc., somehow became 'automatic addiction' and evil incarnate and any legitimate patient who needed them was branded a crook or a druggie.
So, then the U.S. government swooped in with ridiculous policies and chronic pain patients (like me) suddenly became criminals, or untouchables. Good doctors, like Dr. Forrest Tennant, who even invented methadone clinics to treat real addicts, were silenced and shutdown with their patients left to suffer or die. All the research became nothing more than bias-confirmation. The rights of chronic pain patients with horrible, incurable diseases (like me) were promptly destroyed, our privacy was violated in never-ending ways, our human rights no longer existed and I would mark that American opioid crisis as one of the earlier experiments in this kind of mass social control.
Understand, when I was a volunteer nurse at an AIDS clinic nothing came before human rights in that medical facility. In medicine, it matters not to me if someone is a criminal and the FBI might be outside waiting to arrest them, or even if they broke my country's immigration law & Immigration is waiting outside to arrest them, or if they were just a law-abiding, misguided soul. At least for so long as they were under my medical care, until they leave that clinic, I had a moral obligation to treat them. As these doctors said, medicine MUST be separate from anything else. Yet, with today's evil Medicrats, now we even have anti-Caucasian hospital admissions being proposed in several major American cities. Disgusting!
To close, I had a conversation with a 36-year old American nurse about this recently. He promptly rattled on about all of these opioid lies and said that most opioid patients become addicts after even the first treatment. However, when I replied: "Well, if that is true, why is it that none of this happens with opioid patients/chronic pain patients in Thailand? Why is it that Thailand can go months in a row without a single opioid overdose?"
I received no reply. The answer, however, is obvious - Thailand does not have hardly any opioid overdoses because these U.S. FDA approved, life-saving medicines, which in some cases have been used since the 19th century, are really not the problem. Culture, mass-media and government gone amuck is really the problem and this culture is very different.
So, I just wanted to add that. I know I mentioned it in our experimental Zoom meeting a year ago. Yet, as I watch my students' rights being violated with involuntary ATK tests shoved up their noses and watch this youth ruined by masks, forced home-stays and so on, I think we need to take a good look back at America's opioid crisis. I really do feel that, in large part, the set-up probably began there, as well as with the first SARS outbreak some years ago.

WORLD VIEW
Sir,
Thanks for my copy of the latest SCN. It was many years ago that I was a member of the Swinton Circle [now part of the Patriotic Forum – Ed.]. I moved from London to the west coast of Canada in 2008.
George Orwell gets a mention here. He got it right but of course had no way of anticipating the technology revolution that was to take place. I'm afraid that many of the very serious issues and problems that are described here were inevitable. A global population that grew from around 1.6 Billion to 8 Billion in 100 years and continues to grow by over 80 Million per annum come what may. I worked in between 35 and 40 countries over many years and for many companies (UK, Canadian, US, NZ and French), initially East and West Europe and Egypt, and from the mid 1970's all Middle East countries, including Iran, the Levant and the Maghreb and the whole of the Indian sub-continent. My work took me all over those countries and into industry and many levels of government. If I were living in poverty in any one of those countries then I to would do everything possible to move to the UK, US, EU or Canada etc.. I never did work in South America, sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean etc., and millions there could be described as living in poverty.
Corporations and Governments would now rather put their faith and investments into IT rather than humans. IT works 24/7, does not seek a pay rise or, often, get sick. Whatever the public needs, point them towards the web-site. Of course the many millions of migrants moving to the "developed world" are less likely to complain about their "Human Rights" than locals, and are more "flexible" in their attitude to being on minimum wage, being overloaded/abused. There are companies around the world who specialise in providing large groups of workers, either on a work permit basis, that so often leads to permanent residency, or as legal immigrants. At one time I knew the Filipino community in London. They had a duty to send funds back home and would take on all kinds of part time jobs. They would often sleep 4 to a room.
Another big problem is that even when serious crimes are exposed by whistle-blowers or investigative journalists the establishment (central/local government, the Church, the Police and Military etc) react by burying that news. "We must not undermine public confidence in these institutions".
Who is it that now sets the standards for the general public? Sunak, his wife and their billions? Other Ministers of State? Liz Truss? Tony Blair? Those "entrepreneurs" who made many many millions out of the Covid panic. Titles, consultancy contracts to old political friends and supporters? Princes Harry ? That old revolving door between Westminster, Whitehall and "The City" or industry.
It works like this: Cameron, BoJo, Sunak et al sit around the conference table in Downing Street. They discuss all current issues and challenges and agree on policy. Then all justifications are agreed and the scripts written using marketing and spin. Just like selling any other product. Self interest, family interests, a title, a fortune, nepotism, returning favours/you scratch mine and I'll scratch your old boy! All very difficult to resist for some. Again, much better to bury bad news than admit very serious failings by The Party and individuals. Nothing can change until the general public says enough is enough, and mean it ! Democracy and the "Party System" is corrupt and self-serving. Any idiot can become an MP. Join a Party, donate and support the Party and, if you are prepared to be "economic with the truth" and sell your soul then you may well get a safe seat. Once elected you MUST obey the party whips. Take a look at your ruling Conservative Party. What is their funding? Who provides it? What is it spent on? They go about their spin and marketing like any business/commercial operation. They have their script writers and "media" people.
Here in British Columbia, Canada, we have over 1 million people without a General Practitioner, Canada wide it’s way over 2.5 million. Still the population keeps on growing as does the demand on ALL services. A pulp mill just up the coast from me has closed recently, 300 direct and indirect jobs gone. In the UK all main services were sold off to the private sector. The government of the day relies on that private sector to produce the UK's GDP, jobs and tax returns.
The Drax Power Station over there in Yorkshire purchased logging companies here in British Columbia north of me. They clear cut forest, ship the logs to the coast, have them reduced to "nuggets" and then shipped over there to Yorkshire to be burned as "clean fuel" in the Drax Power Station. Lets save the planet folks.

In the September 2020 Edition of the SCN, in the tail-piece article entitled “The ‘White Rhino Club’ (Mk.1) – What Went Wrong?”, we recounted how after it was known that the organisation had been infiltrated by a security forces asset there was much speculation about the identity of this agent. The initial main suspect was a certain Ken Lawson, who had proved to be a troublesome member of the organisation who had not previously been actively involved with any other patriotic body. It was subsequently revealed, however, that it was another mysterious member who was the “spy”, namely a certain Alan Richards.
A short while ago we were contacted by a reader who had read the SCN item in question and who evidently knew Lawson vaguely. He told us that he found Lawson a highly suspicious character, especially as he had decided to remain in the “new” South African after the ANC took over, even though he clearly had the professional qualifications and the ancestral roots which would have made it simple for him to relocate to somewhere in the civilised First World. He further speculated that just because there was one identified asset of the security services who had infiltrated the WRC, this didn’t mean that there couldn’t have been another. There were after all three separate security services operating in South Africa at the time – all seemingly in rivalry with each other!
We wonder therefore whether anyone else can shed any light on the mysterious and trouble-making Mr.Ken Lawson, particularly if it can be confirmed that he was/is working for one of the South African security forces?
