It was with extreme sadness that we learnt last Friday of the sudden death of Mr. Peter Whitelaw. Peter Whitelaw had been a loyal and stalwart member of both the Springbok Club/ELC and the London Swinton Circle for several years, and will be greatly missed. A full obituary to him will appear in the October edition of the SCN.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
You are reminded of the details of two very important meetings to be held early this forthcoming week, and we hope that as many supporters as possible will be able to attend these events :-
New Britain will be staging a special pro-Gibraltar meeting tomorrow, the details of which are as follows :-

The next London Swinton Circle meeting will take place the following day, the details of which are as follows :-
Guest Speaker : Mr. Tim Akers, the Grassroots Co-ordinator of the Taxpayers' Alliance

In view of the fact that there are so many events being planned by fraternal organisations during October - particularly in order to celebrate the 202nd anniversary of victory at the Battle of Trafalgar - the Springbok Club/ELC will not be organising any specific event at national level this month. The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC will however be staging an informal pub gathering in the Medway Towns area towards the end of the month, full details of which will be given in the October edition of the SCN.
