On Thursday 30th September Mr. Simon Silwood, a West Bromwich Albion supporter, was sentenced to eight-weeks in prison. So what was his crime? Theft? Violent assault? Domestic abuse? Drug dealing? No. Mr. Silwood’s “crime” was posting a humorous comment on FaceBook about a WBA player named Romaine Sawyers, who happens to be a negro, and who had made a number of blunders during WBA’s 5-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Mr. Silwood had suggested in his posting that Romaine Sawyers should have been awarded the “Baboon d’Or” for his poor performance, a subtle word-play on the Ballon d’Or, an annual soccer award for the player considered the best of the year. For any normal rational person such a clever play on words would be found funny and would have caused a hearty laugh, but for Romaine Sawyers, who is evidently very thin-skinned, this comment was considered “offensive”.
But regardless of whether this particular comical remark could be regarded as “offensive” or not, is not most humour “offensive” to the butts of the jokes in question? Furthermore, is it not a fundamental right of free speech to be “offensive” to anyone who we want to? As the old playground saying went: “Sticks and stones might break my bones, but words will never hurt me”! This fundamental axiom was probably never better expressed than by Rowan Atkinson in his speech supporting the “Reform Section 5 of the Crime and Courts Act” campaign, which can be accessed at:-

The handing down of a custodial sentence by District Judge Briony Clarke for merely making a jocular posting on a FaceBook members’ group is therefore worrying in the extreme, and makes us wonder precisely what type of society we are currently living in. Even more sickening, perhaps, was the action of the WBA authorities by placing a life ban on Mr.Silwood, thus preventing him from ever again attending any matches played by the team which he has supported since his youth!
It is however clear from the the nature of the charge leveled against Mr.Silwood, and by the remarks made by Judge Clarke, that it was the fact that Romaine Sawyers was a negro which caused an innocuous remark to be considered as a “crime”. It is clear that if Sawyers was White (or perhaps Arab, Indian or Chinese?) then the criminal courts would never have been involved. Are the judicial authorities behind the prosecution and Judge Clarke therefore surreptitiously implying that negroes physically resemble baboons?
If this whole ludicrous incident had been made up then nobody would have believed it, and indeed the whole ridiculous affair is in itself a good reason to laugh. But for Mr.Silwood it was not funny. His whole life has now been ruined by the totally unacceptable actions of some very thin-skinned and sinisterly-motivated individuals. We therefore hope that Romaine Sawyers, Judge Clarke and everyone else involved in this disgusting prosecution make a good study of Rowan Atkinson’s speech as referenced above.
We thus call upon the judicial authorities involved to squash the conviction against Mr.Silwood completely so that there is no longer any stain on his character, and to grant him appropriate financial compensation. We furthermore call upon WBA officials to lift their ban against Mr.Silwood attending future matches and to grant him free season tickets for the rest of his life to atone for their previous unjustified action. If Romaine Sawyers or anyone else objects to the observations which we have made in this article then we believe that they should be free to insult us as much as they like. We after all believe in free speech.

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
The Springbok Club fulfilled its promise to the late, great, Peter Sladden again this year by maintaining the annual “Raising of the Flag” ceremony. This year the ceremony was held at Dalham in Suffolk, a village which has strong associations with Cecil Rhodes and the extended Rhodes family, and took place alongside the grave of Francis “Frank” Rhodes, Cecil Rhodes’ brother. Short keynote speeches were given by Mr. Alan Williamson and by Mr. Jim Sinclair, and the singing of both the British and the Rhodesian national anthems was then led by Mr. Alex Knox-Wylie. After the ceremony itself, and after taking a brief view of the next-door Dalham Hall which was once owned by Cecil Rhodes, the party adjourned to a near-by hostelry where Mr. Gary Vincent gave an updated version of the PowerPoint presentation about James Theodore Bent and how he had been commissioned by Cecil Rhodes to investigate the mysterious Zimbabwe ruins and to report back on his findings about its origins – a presentation which in its earlier form he had given at August’s Springbok Club event.

It has recently been discovered that Lt. E.C. “Teddy” Tyndale-Biscoe, who of course was the first person to hoist the Union Flag during the original “Raising of the Flag” ceremony at Salisbury, Rhodesia, in 1890, is evidently buried at Swanage in Dorset, Tentative plans are now therefore being made to stage the 2022 “Raising of the Flag” ceremony at Swanage.

James Lockwood was born at Pembury and raised at Tunbridge Wells in Kent. He read Law at King's College, London. After graduating he worked for almost a decade as a civilian investigator with Kent Police, and then for the Kent County Council managing aspects of the road network. After a stint in tax recruitment, he entered the healthcare tax sector as an NHS tax consultant. He was initiated into the Orange Order in February 2004, the Royal Black Institution in 2006 and the Apprentice Boys of Derry in 2004. He is also a member of the Royal Society of St George. He was a former council candidate for the Conservative Party, and a former chairman of the Young Conservatives in the Cities of London & Westminster Conservative Association, overlapping with the chairmanship of Jacob Rees-Mogg. Currently he is Metropolitan Provincial Grand Treasurer for the Orange Order and served as London District Master from 2016 to 2018, is currently the Master of the South of England District Chapter of the Royal Black Institution, and is also Kent Branch Club Secretary for the Apprentice Boys of Derry. He also maintains an interest in other fraternal orders. His main interests outside the Loyal Orders are badminton, cricket, history, politics, genealogy, classical music and creative writing. Through the Orange Order he developed a keen interest in Lord Carson, regarded as the Father of Northern Ireland, and appeared on the BBC’s Mastermind quiz programme in 2013, with the life of Lord Carson being his specialist subject.

The Patriotic Forum staged a most interesting and informative Zoom meeting addressed by Mr. Alan Barr last month. Alan Barr, a fervent Ulster Unionist from Co. Antrim, gave a most eloquent and enthralling speech about the recent leadership crisis in he DUP, the current worrying situation in Ulster following the imposition of the EU-imposed Northern Ireland Protocol, and the growing Loyalist resistance to this.

MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL
We have recently received the following important message from the Animal Survival International organisation :-
“We’ve told you before that we are committed to taking back the sea for sea creatures, one beach at a time - and we intend to keep our promise, by cleaning up plastic pollution on beaches around the world. But we need your help.
”This time, we’re focusing on beaches in Cape Town, South Africa, where plastic pollution is having a devastating effect on endangered sea turtle hatchlings.
”Seventy-five percent of all plastic ever produced becomes waste, most of it ending up in our oceans. Shockingly, there is an estimated 5 TRILLION (that’s 5,000,000,000,000!) pieces of plastic in the ocean, and this figure is growing!
“Sea turtles are literally choking under all the garbage! More than half of the world’s turtles have ingested plastic.
“The South African coastline is an important nesting area for endangered loggerhead and leatherback turtles. In the winter months, juvenile turtles are swept down from the northern coast of Natal by the mighty Agulhas current to the southern coast where the stormy seas wash them ashore.
”Most of these stranded hatchlings are suffering from dehydration, hypothermia and injury, which is a natural phenomenon - only one or two hatchlings in every thousand survive to maturity. But what is not natural is that their survival is now even more compromised by the amount of plastic the hatchlings have already ingested in their short lives.
“Our partner, the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation, which rescues, rehabilitates and releases stranded and distressed sea turtles, explained that more than 70% of the turtles they rescue have plastic inside of them. A total of 514 pieces of plastic were passed by the 47 hatchlings currently in the Foundation’s care. Sometimes there is so much plastic inside these baby turtles that they cannot be saved. In one turtle hatchling, they discovered 121 pieces of plastic! Of course, he had no chance of survival and died shortly after being rescued.
“Plastic waste comes in all forms, but often the deadliest are micro-plastics; tiny bits of plastic that turtles mistake for food. When too many micro-plastics are ingested, it causes internal infections, blockages and eventually death.
“Bob and Harry are two adult green turtles undergoing rehabilitation at the Foundation. Bob has been there for seven years recovering from a complicated brain injury. In the first months of Bob’s rehabilitation, he passed substantial amounts of plastic, including a balloon with a string! While Harry passed a large clear piece of plastic which could have been mistaken for a jellyfish.
“But it’s not only plastic waste that is affecting turtles. Discarded fishing gear and ghost nets are also lethal for larger turtles, as the creatures become entangled, injured and weighed down by the ropes and lines.
“Unless we step in, these turtles have little hope for their survival. Their two best chances both depend on us.
“One, we need to clean up the plastic pollution in our seas and on our beaches. And two, we need to help rescue, rehabilitate and release these special creatures back into the ocean. That is why we have teamed up with two important organizations; the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation and The Beach Co-op, whose mission is to clean up South Africa’s beaches. There is strength in numbers, which is why we have banded with these organizations to have a greater positive impact on this issue.
“Every piece of plastic removed from the ocean could be another turtle saved!
“Together with The Beach Co-op, we are planning a massive beach clean-up at one of Cape Town’s turtle hotspots, Sunset Beach. Here, the Two Oceans Foundation team collects and rescues hundreds of hatchlings every year. Already, this year, 60 turtles have been rescued by the Foundation.
”To help reduce the effects of plastic ingestion and to give future rescued turtles a better chance of survival, we are calling on all our supporters to help us and The Beach Co-op clean up Sunset Beach. But this isn’t any beach clean-up. As well as removing the bigger pieces of rubbish, we will also be focusing on sifting the sand and picking up every bit of deadly micro-plastic we can find.
“But reducing plastic on the beach is only half the job. The next step is rescuing and rehabilitating each turtle that is found in distress. To do this we need to raise funds to help the Foundation provide critical medical and rehabilitation care for rescued hatchlings.
“It costs just $2 (£1.50) a day to raise and rehabilitate one baby turtle, and it can take up to a year before the turtle is ready to be released into the wild. That is $730 (£527) per turtle. But, with only one in every 1,000 turtle hatchlings surviving to maturity, each one of these rescued hatchlings is worth it.
”Right now, 47 stranded hatchlings are being cared for at the Foundation’s rehab center. Each one needs constant care, food and monitoring in a high-tech saltwater life-support system if it’s to survive long enough to be released back into the ocean.
“It is easy at this point to feel despondent and hopeless at the state of our oceans and the harm that is being caused to these incredible creatures. But there is hope. Turtles are resilient; they are strong, and they are fighters.”

GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE
On 15th September Michael Holding, the former West Indian cricketer, announced that he was retiring as a sports commentator. Michael Holding was undoubtedly a great bowler, but his media commentating skills left a lot to be desired. His hectoring and supercilious tone annoyed a lot of people, as did his apparent attempts to lose his Caribbean accent. More recently however this annoyance has turned to anger with most viewers.
Holding has become quite open in expressing extreme-Leftist views, and has shown himself to be not only anti-White but indeed opposed to Western Civilisation. He became the cheer-leader among Sky commentators for the Marxist “Black Lives Matter” subversive movement, and more recently has referred to the decision by the New Zealand and then England cricketing authorities to withdraw from tours of Pakistan for security reasons as “Western arrogance”, seemingly disputing that very real intelligence reports had been received about a likely terrorist attack.
In his notorious diatribe at the height of the deranged “taking the knee” hysteria Holding claimed that a negro named Lewis Howard Latimer had invented an improved carbon filament for electric light bulbs. Although he admitted that the electric light bulb itself had been invented by a White man, Thomas Edison, he failed to mention all the other important inventions which had been made by White men and women, namely the telephone, the internal combustion engine, radio, television, the steam engine, nuclear power, the lawn-mower, tarmac roads, the vacuum cleaner, ball-point pens, hydro-electric power, railways, photography, the sewing machine, refrigerators, computers, box-girder bridges, the internet, aircraft, the gramophone, hovercraft, washing machines, hot-air balloons, space rockets, machine guns, the postal service, microwave ovens, radar, the telescope, the water closet, submarines, the bicycle, clocks and watches, the pocket calculator, torpedoes, drones, chronometers, vulcanized rubber, barometers, satnavs [continued on page 94].

Dennis Duncan was a South African who moved to Mesa in Arizona, U.S.A. following the advent of the ANC regime in South Africa. He was very enthusiastic when he first heard about the Springbok Club and offered to establish a structure for the organisation in the United States, though alas nothing ever came of this. More recently e-mails sent to him have been returned as his e-mail address is evidently no longer recognised, and a subsequent letter sent to him through the post has just been returned as he is apparently no longer living at his last known address. Needless to say we would be very interested to learn how and where he can now be contacted.

LOW OPINION
Sir,
What about the constant troubles in the UK. We have seen the rise of multi-culturalism, homosexuality, transgenderism, and now all sorts of issues where children have more authority than their parents in the house.
Has communism finally taken the UK? I think it's has, and we have an over-reaching government here that has used Covid to enslave and control the British people and kill off an economy.
Who knows what the future for South Africa is. But one thing I can say, after living in the UK for 22 years. It is in many ways worse. Anything goes here. Literally!!
Westminster is the worst of all governments trying to kill the UK and its history of Christianity. They have literally devastated the church into a place of moral depravity while venerating Karl Marx.
It doesn't look good here either, and working with this culture is a nightmare. One word misused could see your career ended or your life in jail because you offended a female trying to be a man!!

The post-experimental health issues are now becoming so apparent, yet the sheep cannot join the dots. A friend’s daughter is a nurse and she has observed a dead foetus following a vaccination. This story is one of crime! My own daughter has a slightly older man friend who works in a care home who is now in hospital having suffered a heart attack. Etc etc!!!
In desperation I went to an injection centre on Saturday to reveal the wrong-doings. A Gestapo-like woman wielded her enormous breasts at me as she edged forward making me step backwards and threatened to call the police. I stayed a bit longer. The officials looked suspect and the shop-clinic looked scruffier and dirtier than the Zimbabwean passport office, and so dingy – what a disgrace!

BLURRING BURR

I enjoyed the July edition of the SCN and hope others write in. I can tell you that America's racial (anti-White) ideologies are starting to pick up again. In the last month, we've seen anti-White activists instruct their followers to hate the American flag because they allege it is a symbol of hate. (Nevermind that the Cubans proudly raised the American flag this week as they got violently assaulted for protesting their freedoms from an oppressive government in Cuba.) In Hollywood, there's a new push to cast all future movies by racial quota, and major Broadway shows like Hamilton even re-cast Aaron Burr and some of the Founding Fathers as of African ancestry.

COWS COMING HOME
Sir,
I was always opposed to apartheid on libertarian grounds. I also regard "one man one vote" as a sacred cow that, like all sacred cows, should be questioned.
To me, the old pre-1994 "White" South Africa and the new post-1994 one constitute different countries, For the new one I will say that it seems to have got rid of the old Mary Whitehouse-style censorship, the state seems far less repressive and the elections more democratic. However, the old one was infinitely better governed in that the authorities were a lot more efficient and a lot less corrupt.
I would point out to those dissatisfied with this that the remedy is in their own hands. They have "one man one vote" and can vote out the ANC in a way that non-Whites couldn't vote out the Nats before 1994. However, we should make it plain that if they turn to someone like Malema and turn themselves into another Zimbabwe, we will not be coming to the rescue except under certain conditions!

OBITUARY
THE REVEREND JONATHAN BOSTON
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of the Reverend Jonathan Boston. The Rev. Jonathan Boston was a popular and dedicated Norfolk clergyman who was chosen by Peter Sladden to become Chaplain to the Lord of the Manor of Southrepps. This proved to be an inspired selection, for even though he had no direct Rhodesian connections he threw himself into the “Raising of the Flag” ceremony each year, expertly conducting the religious service at the event.
The Rev. Jonathan Boston was however above all a true British patriot. A low-church Anglican, he was a pillar of Norfolk society, being successively Curate of Eaton, Vicar of Horsford and St.Faith’s near Norfolk, and finally Rector of All Saint’s, Litcham. He was a regular fixture of the Royal Norfolk Show, where his friendly and jovial personality made him a popular attendee who could always be found in convivial conversation. He also acted as chaplain for the Norfolk Constabulary and to the Norfolk Army Cadets.
He was once begged by the boys of Eaton to re-start the village Scout troop which had fallen into abeyance, something which he successfully accomplished to the great appreciation of all concerned, and latter he founded a new Scout Troop at Horsford and .St.Faiths. Always friendly and helpful, he constantly had the time of day for everyone. His memory will always live on as an inspiration to all who knew him. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to his two sons, James and Charles, and to his sister Anthea.
