The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla proved, as expected, to be a most splendid and uplifting spectacle. Although the ceremony was of course to crown the monarchs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the other Dominion nations of the Commonwealth, it was in reality a celebration of our entire Western heritage, and as such was a glorification of our continuous Western civilization.
The massive crowds who lined the streets of London gave a lie to those who claim that there is no longer mass support for the institution of monarchy, and the joyous glee of all the spectators showed that it wasn’t just the King and Queen who were being crowned, but all of the British people around the globe who they personify. The boring trouble-makers of the “Republica” outfit were exposed as the pathetic kill-joys which they are, and were dealt with by the Metropolitan Police in a most praise-worthy and efficient manner. Just what is wrong with these misfits we wonder?
To be sure there were certain aspects of the ceremony which were regrettable. The participation of several third world Commonwealth representatives tended to spoil the centuries-old traditions. Perhaps this was inevitable given the current structure of the Commonwealth, but surely it would have been far better to have held a separate ceremony to install King Charles as Head of the Commonwealth at which they could have participated. In addition the King’s stipulation that he should be regarded as “Defender of Faith” rather than “Defender of the Faith” simply made a mockery of his Coronation Oath. Let us hope therefore that this will be the last Coronation of a British Monarch where representatives of foreign religions are allowed to participate!
In spite of these misgivings the Coronation still proved to be a glorious event, and it was particularly pleasing to note that two-and-a-half of the three requests which we made in the September 2022 Edition of the SCN were enacted. The Queen was referred to throughout as Queen Camilla rather than by the impersonal formal style of Queen Consort; the Earl of Wessex was upgraded to the title of Duke of Edinburgh which had been the wish of his late father; and although the wickedly-maligned Duke of York was apparently not allowed to wear his naval uniform, he was able to wear the robes of the Order of the Garter. Queen Camilla, the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh all looked magnificent – though it was perhaps Penny Mordaunt who bore the Sword of State in her role as Lord President of the Privy Council who provided the most spectacular and significant image!
As we also mentioned in the September 2022 Edition of the SCN, although many people have been uncertain about whether King Charles III has the ability to be a great monarch, exactly he same fears were expressed about King Edward VII before he came to the throne – and yet his reign proved a tremendous success. If King Charles III can rid himself of those aspects which we and many more of his subjects have expressed great misgivings about then he could still go down in history as one of our most popular and successful Kings. Impossible though it might seem at the moment, may we also hope that by the time of the end of his reign he will be signing himself not Charles R., but Charles R.I..

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS
The Springbok Club staged a most enjoyable trip to the Rochester Sweeps Festival last month. A very pleasing number of Springbok Club members and supporters attended this event and were entertained by the many sparkling performances of Morris Dancing and traditional British Folk Music in the streets and venues of Rochester. Of special delight, however, was to hear a rendition of the appropriate “The Bold Fusilier (Marching through Rochester)” being sung! The Springbok Club is now planning further trips to similar traditional cultural events in the future.

At this meeting several prominent speakers will recount some of their personal experiences whilst staying in various parts of the erstwhile British Empire, particularly in southern Africa.

MESSAGE FROM ANIMAL SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL
We have recently received the following most disturbing report from the Animal Survival International organisation concerning the grave situation facing Lions in Zimbabwe. It reads as follows:-
“Snares are one of the world’s oldest and cruelest devices for killing animals. Usually, the animal dies slowly, after days or weeks of suffering. Recently, ‘Najam’, a magnificent two-year-old lioness in Zimbabwe, was spotted with a steel snare cutting through her mouth and tearing through her cheeks. The slipknot was lodged in her throat, making it impossible for her to eat.
“Poaching in Zimbabwe is having a CATASTROPHIC EFFECT on both small and large species, and shockingly, lions are no exception!
“When our partner, the Bumi Hills Anti-Poaching Unit (BHAPU), realized the seriousness of the problem, it immediately sent a highly skilled team to help Najam. She was carefully tranquilized, and the team worked swiftly to remove the snare and provide critical care to her gaping wounds. The wire had torn its way into her flesh, and she had several broken teeth from her desperate and repeated attempts to chew through it. She also had deep injuries to her front paw, consistent with snaring.
“BHAPU estimates Najam was caught in this death trap for at least four days. They knew if they had not acted immediately, she would have died an excruciating death.
“’The unimaginable suffering this young lioness had to endure is beyond comprehension. This is cruelty in its harshest form.’ – BHAPU Base Manager, Catherine Norton.
“Najam is safely back with her pride and her mother, ‘Rakesh’ (meaning “Moon”), and making a slow recovery.
“But her case highlights the dire need for BHAPU to have more feet on the ground patrolling for deadly snares.
“The illegal snaring of vulnerable wildlife in Zimbabwe has increased by 25% since the start of 2022, according to BHAPU. The increase in snaring is likely a result of the country’s shattered economy, rising unemployment levels and people having no food to eat.
“With its present resources, BHAPU finds and removes some 40 snares a month, and on average, encounters two severe snare cases like Najam’s. With more patrols, they can increase the protection of animals significantly, but that costs money.
“Even one scout will make a difference, allowing BHAPU to cover additional ground and find up to 10% more snares – critical to the continued survival of animals like Najam – and the prevention of needless suffering.
“With your support, we will be there to help snared animals. For those caught in snares, this means a slow, agonizing and painful death sentence. No animal deserves to suffer in such a horrible way. We need your help to ensure the BHAPU team has more feet on the ground to help keep the wildlife of Zimbabwe safe.

SUPPORT WOMEN’S SPORT
Sportswomen have had a hard decades-long struggle to obtain true equality in the sporting world. It has only been in recent years that the Olympic movement has ensured that women compete in exactly similar events to men (and they alas still have to compete in only a Heptathlon in Athletics rather than a Decathlon!), and in all major team sports it is only recently that they have obtained parity of esteem as far as media publicity is concerned – and furthermore it should never be forgotten that the Association Football authorities disgustingly banned women from playing the game from 1920 until 1971!
It is therefore ironic – and totally sickening – that as soon as sportswomen obtain sporting equality their rights have been threatened by mentally disturbed men who ridiculously claim to be women, and who certain weak-willed “politically correct” sports officials refuse to stand up to. As we have stated in the past, if anyone possesses a “Y” chromosome then that person is male, regardless of whether they have an extra “X” chromosome or not.
Recently both the cycling and rowing authorities have been found seriously wanting for not protecting the integrity of women’s sport. A biological male was allowed to compete in – and to “win” – a stage of the Women’s Tour of the Gila in New Mexico, and it has also been revealed that a biological man was allowed to row in “Blondie”, the Cambridge University Women’s reserve boat, in the 2015 Boat Races. Such decisions by the relevant sports authorities are not only scientifically wrong, but they also infringe on the rights of genuine women competitors.
The problem of so-called “transgender” people is not only a sporting problem of course, it is a problem for society as a whole. Sporting authorities could and should however show a lead to society in general by stating clearly and unambiguous that if any person has a “Y” chromosome then they are male and should be treated as such – regardless of any testosterone or other medical treatment which they may have received. Women’ Rights must always over-ride any “rights” for perverts!

FALKLAND ISLANDS NEWS
We recently received information from the Falkland Islands Association about a special event which they held in September of last year, though unfortunately we were only able to access this information after the event had taken place.
The special event was held in conjunction with the Falkland Islands Government and took place on board the S.S. Great Britain in the Bristol Docks, and set out to convey an impression of the Falkland Islands - and the over one million penguins of five different species who live there. It also gave a great opportunity to explore the ship and to discover its connections with the Falkland Islands, as well as showing a short film which commemorated the 40th anniversary of the 1982 conflict. Falkland Islanders were also on hand to explain what it is like to live there today.

GETTING HISTORY STRAIGHT
At several times during TV broadcasts of King Charles III’s and Queen Camilla’s Coronation – on both BBC and GBNews – it was stated that Britain had once been a republic and that this had proved a disaster. This claim however is, strictly speaking, not true.
Following the trial, conviction and execution of King Charles I in 1649 Britain was declared a Commonwealth, not a republic, whereby the three national parliaments acted as collective heads of state. Such a system inevitably proved unwieldy however, and in 1653 the Council of State (which had superseded the Privy Council) offered the Crown to Oliver Cromwell. He refused the Crown on the grounds that he was not of Royal Blood however, but was then elected Lord Protector, which actually meant that he was King in all but name. During the period from 1653 until 1659 the government of the British Isles was termed a Protectorate, again not a republic, and far from being a disaster proved to be one of the most stable, prosperous and happy periods in British history, during which time inter alia Jamaica became a British colony. After Oliver Cromwell’s sudden death in 1658 his son Richard Cromwell (“Tumbledown Dick”) was installed as Lord Protector, but he proved not up to the job, and so in 1659 a second Commonwealth was declared. The need for a single Head of State was then considered essential, and the obvious candidate was Charles I’s eldest son Charles. After he promised to respect Parliament and not to act like a tyrant as his father had done he was offered the Crown in 1660, and so Britain reverted to being Monarchy – though this time a Constitutional Monarchy. As can be seen therefore, contrary to the claims in several TV broadcasts during the Coronation, Britain has never been a republic!

No.294: Mr. ALAN MAYFIELD of Reading and Durban
Alan Mayfield was an I.T. expert originally from Reading in the U.K., who emigrated to South Africa during the 1970s. He settled in Durban, and at one time worked on a contract basis for Lithotone, the printing company who were the original printers of S.A.Patriot. Although clearly not political by nature, he became intrigued by the magazine, and an informal friendship developed with those behind the publication. He was a very jovial and down-to-earth person, with none of the arrogance which is often associated with those who are experts in his profession. It is believed that he returned to his native Reading during the mid-1980s however, but it would be very interesting to learn where he is now.

If my fellow citizens have listened to Jaap Marais and the HNP things would have been quite different today, but the traitors like Pik Botha, F.W. de Klerk, Kobie Coetzee and Roelf Meyer etc. have misled the Afrikaners all the way. The ANC/SACP thinks they are doing an excellent job, but in reality everything is falling apart and they still don't listen to any advice from clever and capable White people. They are only interested in their own pockets. We experience it every day. This once leading country in Africa is becoming just another third world country.

GOING, GOING, GONE
Sir,
Adding up the massive financial problems in Europe and major economic problems emerging in China (of which the world really did not know about until the problems could no longer be hidden), all of the signs of another 1929 global Depression are there.
Here in S.E. Asia, I have been watching the foreign reserves of many countries rapidly begin to fall. In Thailand, if the government reports are to be believed, we still have enough to run the country for seven months which puts us just about a month over the globally-accepted minimum. However, out of about US$250 billion or so in foreign reserves which we still have, we lost 4 billion last month alone (largely due to capital outflows). In addition to a very high burn rate on Thai/Asian foreign reserves, our currency is performing rather poorly and, critically, the economy remains stalled as there is not enough demand to restart most of the businesses which were wiped out by the Wuhan Flu hysteria. What is worse, though, is that once you get to more than two years in from when many wiped out business owners refinanced to stay afloat, you get to a point where they simply can no longer refinance and savings are gone; meaning there will be little capital available to ever restart those SME's.
I could go on, but it looks to me like another global Depression is probably in the cards. It usually takes about 6-12 months before the big crash happens. I also suspect the crisis in Europe and another global Depression will mean that some of the lines on the map will change in the next 12 months and there will be a lot of human suffering. Except for Russia, all major economies are basically well beyond debt levels of 100% to GDP, so they are just in so deep that there is no real economic firepower left to stop what is already starting to happen.

The new South African/Azanian wealth tax laws are to come. This terrorist law of wealth tax will slowly strip the wealthy of the middle-class of South Africa to the bone financially. The private sector will crash over the next 3 years. The super wealthy in the last 2 years are leaving South Africa in swarms with their wealth intact. If you own 2 or 3 homes, rent them because the pension you paid into in the 1980s and 90s is defunct or just a joke in 2020. My advice is sell your home and put the money out of South Africa and leave. The ANC have run out of stolen money and will tax you to death. Your bank accounts are going to be looked at and the wealthy will have their South African accounts locked down and pilfered by the ANC terrorist syndicate. The Rhodesians warned us in the 1980s. Rhodesia had its state pensions stolen by 1983 to the last dollar. It all went in to the back pocket of the new terrorist state.

THE BLARNEY BROTHERS
Durbanites with good memories will undoubtedly remember “The Blarney Brothers”, the popular Irish trio who performed at several leading Durban venues for decades, becoming an iconic institution in the city. Consisting of two brothers and a musical colleague, it was rumoured that the brothers were from the Irish Republic, whereas the other member was from Ulster (or was it the other way round?), but there was certainly nothing remotely sectarian about their lyrics! Starting off at the Astra Hotel in 1974 they then moved to the Lonsdale Hotel and then the Killarney Hotel, before eventually being “head-hunted” by the management of the Athlone Hotel in Durban North where they performed for 13 years.
Moving from overseas to South Africa during the days of civilised rule in the country they were clearly sympathetic to the then status quo, and the rumour was once heard in patriotic circles in Durban that at least one of the trio’s members was a true Conservative at heart. This rumour seemed to be confirmed by a rather esoteric reference in one year’s UND Rag magazine which slyly linked the trio to the White Rhino Club (mark 1)! It would be very interesting to learn whether anyone could confirm this connection?
