No sooner had the October edition of the SCN been circulated than one of the predictions in the editorial of this issue was proved totally - and completely surprisingly - wrong, for the Mbeki government announced that not only would they not be enforcing a "quota system" in all national sporting teams as earlier threatened, but they would even be abolishing this requirement at lower levels!
This complete u-turn in their previous policy caught everybody totally by surprise - ourselves included. It is probably the first meaningful concession to White South Africa since the ANC-regime were handed power in 1994. It came at a time, moreover, when we had started to receive reports that the rate of decline in South African society (which had seen the country rapidly descend from being an advanced first-world nation to being a third-world basket-case under the Mandela and early Mbeki administrations) was clearly slowing down, and indeed we have even heard reports of White South African refugees considering returning to that beleaguered land.
But what is the reason for all this? A clue may well be found in an article written by Naomi Klein, a leftist Canadian journalist, which has recently been forwarded to us. In this article Klein castigates Mbeki for, inter alia, supporting the free-market system, failing to deliver the ANC's promises to the country's Blacks, and "tainting" Mandela's legacy (and we all know what that is - over 2100 terrorist-style murders in the platteland alone!). Has Mbeki therefore fallen totally out of favour with the more extreme left-wing ANC faction (the SACP) and their international backers, and is now trying to curry favour with South Africa's Whites in order to shore up his position? If so then White South Africans should be extremely wary. Mbeki may not have been a "hands on" terrorist like the evil Mandela, but he is even so still part of the same ANC terrorist apparatus. Furthermore, Mbeki's successors seem far more likely to be throw-backs to the dark Mandela era rather than to Mbeki's RELATIVELY benign reign.
Our advice to our fellow White South Africans is therefore still the same. The struggle to restore TRUE civilised rule in South Africa can only be achieved "in exile", by organising and by lobbying the powers-that-be in the West, and it is therefore your duty to assist in every way possible in this struggle. To contemplate returning to South Africa, furthermore, even during the current RELATIVELY safe Mbeki interlude, is potentially like signing your own death certificate.

Neil Thain was born at Bulawayo in 1953, but moved to Salisbury, Rhodesia, in 1968. He worked for RTV from 1973 until 1981, rising to the position of senior producer. He completed his national service in the Guard Force Signals Division, and saw active service in the north-eastern sector (Operation Hurricane) during the Rhodesian Bush War, helping to guard protected villages in the Mount Darwin and Urungwe area. In 1984 he moved to South Africa where he worked as a freelance film-maker, before founding Msasa Enterprises with a colleague in 1997, with support and assistance from the Rhodesians Worldwide organisation. He is currently a managing director of Msasa Enterprises, running their UK office since 2004. Msasa Enterprises specialises in the production and retail of videos and DVDs about Rhodesia, particularly relating to military operations during the Bush War. Mr Thain will not only be giving a brief outline of his Rhodesian experiences and the work of Msasa Enterprises during this meeting, but will also be showing a number of film clips from the productions which the company markets.
A succulent array of buffet snacks will be provided at this event, and the cost will be £10.00 per head for Full Members of the Springbok Club/ELC, £12.50 per head for Associate Members of the Springbok Club/ELC, and £15.00 per head for non-members. SPRINGBBOK CLUB/ELC BRANCH NEWS
The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC is planning an informal pub gathering in the north Kent area sometime during early 2008 (probably during February). Again further details will be given in next month's SCN.
The London Branch of the SC/ELC is planning to hold a spring get-together, which hopefully will take the form of a braai. The branch is also planning a trip to see the finish of the Doggett's Coat & Badge race on the Thames in July/August next year. [Robert Crouch who spoke so magnificently at last month's New Britain Trafalgar Lunch, and who is a past winner of the Doggett's Coat & Badge race, has written a most fascinating book about the race in novel-form entitled "The Coat". Two members of the ExCo of the Springbok Club/ELC anticipate being in Belfast during April of next year, and it is hoped that this will provide a good opportunity to re-constitute the Northern Ireland Branch of the organisation. LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle held a very well attended autumn buffet earlier this month, at which the guest speaker was Mr. Roger Helmer MEP (Conservative, East Midlands). Mr. Helmer gave a masterful speech of great insight, in which, inter alia, he revealed many of the outrages of the EU and brought home to those at the meeting the current extent of all the corrupt systems now operated by the EU.
The London Swinton Circle will be holding two very interesting meetings during January 2008. The first will be held on Friday 11th January and will be addressed by Mr. Nigel Farage MEP, the Leader of UKIP. The second will be held later during the month either in a committee room of the House of Commons or in Portcullis House, and will be addressed by Mr. Peter Bone MP (Conservative, Wellingborough). Full details of both these meetings will be appearing in future editions of the SCN.

NEW BRITAIN NEWS
As in previous years, Mr. Dennis Delderfield laid a wreath on behalf of New Britain at the Royal Naval War Memorial in Chatham on Remembrance Sunday earlier this month. A number of members of the Springbok Club/ELC were also present for this solemn occasion this year, when thoughts were especially centred on those who have died in recent months during the War against Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. We know also that many supporters attended the annual Rhodesian Forces Remembrance Service outside Westminster Abbey at the same time, when those who fought and died in an earlier War against Terror were also remembered.

GREAT NEWS FROM ICELAND
We are delighted to be able to report that Iceland's government has stated that, as a result of the low demand for whale meat, no more whaling quotas will be allowed at the current time. We applaud this decision by the Icelandic government, which we believe has the full support of the majority of Icelandic people. The killing of highly advanced mammals such as whales is abhorrent to all those with any sense of civilised decency, and the fact that a Western nation such as Iceland has allowed such a detestable practice to continue for so long has been a serious stain on that country's reputation, which we trust is now ended for ever. It is just a tragedy that the Japanese nation can't experience a similar enlightenment.

BONFIRE
A small contingent of SC/ELC members and supporters attended the Lewes Bonfire celebrations again this year. Although following the proceedings of both the Cliffe Bonfire Society and the South Street Bonfire Society for most of the evening, circumstances alas prevented attending the firesite ceremonies of either of these societies this year, so instead the firesite of the Waterloo Bonfire Society was patronised instead. The Waterloo B.S. certainly provided an excellent aerial pyrotechnics display, but unfortunately they did not seem to remain steadfast to the true traditions of Bonfire, with incomplete Bonfire Prayers being recited, no orations by the clergy, and limited effigies being burnt. Next year it is hoped that a larger contingent of supporters will be able to attend the Bonfire celebrations, where we will endeavour to attend the firesite ceremonies of either the Cliffe or the South Street Bonfire Societies, or possibly that of the Commercial Square B.S., all of which societies definitely remain true to the traditions of Bonfire.

LATEST SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL LOTTERY NEWS
We have recently received the following SAPA report regarding the current South African National Lottery debacle:-
"Cape Town - The Democratic Alliance lodged a complaint with the Public Services Commission on Monday over what it said were 'unjustified' performance bonuses being paid to National Lotteries Board (NLB) officials. 'Today, I lodged a complaint with the Public Service Commission over the unjustifiable increase in staff performance bonuses at the National Lotteries Board in the year that must rate as the most disastrous for the Lotto ever,' DA spokesperson on Trade and Industry Pierre Rabie said in a statement.
"Staff performance bonuses at the NLB soared by 42.4% to more than R1.3m for the past financial year, despite there being no staff performance appraisal systems at the organisation, through which this increase could be justified, Rabie said.
"'If (Trade and Industry) minister Mandisi Mpahlwa is unable to whip this chaotic organisation into shape, then perhaps a finding from the Public Service Commissioner will clear the way forward,' he said.
"Rabie lodges his complaint at a time when there is dithering over the appointment of a new lotto operator following the suspension of the national lottery by Mpahlwa early this year.
"Despite numerous assurances from Mpahlwa's office that the announcement of the new operator was imminent, it did not materialise.
"'The NLB failed to advise the Minister properly with respect to the issuing of a licence to conduct the national lottery. It is impossible that this increase in performance bonuses could be deemed reasonable, since the NLB has either failed to or could not carry out its mandate in a number of instances,' Rabie said.
"Mpahlwa, Rabie said, appears to be turning a blind eye when NLB staff members were richly rewarded for their disastrous management of the national lottery system during 2006/2007."

POINTING THE FINGER
Sir,
There have been several more attacks in Bryanston since last I wrote. Last night (20 August 2007) there was a robbery off Bryanston Drive near Perivale Road. What I find most intriguing is that in this modern day and age I have not heard of a single instance where the SAPS have taken finger-prints and reported that at least one perpetrator has burgled or attacked in more than one place.
Even if they are unable to identify the person, they should surely be able to say that there are common finger-prints. By alas no!
ADT [a private security company] called at the scene last night. They found a bag of credit cards and other stolen items from the burgled house on the adjacent property. The first thing they contributed to the future of the investigation was to pick the bag up and finger the contents, including the credit cards. When challenged about this they confidently announced that you could not take finger-prints from a credit card. Is there any hope I wonder? One would have thought that they would have some basic law enforcement training.
Surely some basic training for our investigators and our guard companies would not be too much to ask for.
I have to say that the most obvious conclusion to the problem of tampering with evidence is that, if any of their buddies are implicated, one could never prosecute. It's hard not to attribute some meaning behind the apparent ignorance of basic investigative procedures. Finger-prints that would most likely not be on record would be those of illegal immigrants. Finger-prints that would definitely be on record would be those of the SAPS and the guard companies. So what do you do when you come across evidence - just in case?
There must be a larger and very powerful force controlling the crime. How many 300cm television sets and 500 Mercs have you seen in Alexandra? I doubt that is where the stolen goods are disposed of.

On today's news on-line, in Pretoria a mother mourns the loss of her son. Murdered by burglars. One of the four criminals slit the boy's throat. The young man was shortly after pronounced dead. Another victim in this horrific, ongoing, rising crime rate.
How many more deaths as a result of this out of control crime wave must there be?

Please don't let this vile insult go unnoticed, otherwise next year they will be erecting a statue in honour of Osama Bin Laden.

ROGUES GALLERY
A supporter has recently informed us of a couple of quite odious messages which have evidently been posted on the appalling "Conservative Democratic Alliance" discussion forum. The first, from the repulsive Francis "Fruitcake" Andrew, claims that the Springbok Club are "pro-Mandela buddies", whereas the second, from somebody going under the name of Brin Jenkins, suggests that the Springbok Club should be renamed the "Mugabe Supporters' Club".
We have of course unfortunately been subjected to an irrational hate-campaign from "Fruitcake" Andrew for several years now, and have come to the firm conclusion that the man is totally deranged. This latest piece of lunacy from him therefore only confirms this opinion. The Brin Jenkins character is a completely new name to us however. We wonder therefore whether anyone knows anything about him? Is this a real name we wonder, or is it a pseudonym for someone previously known to us? Be this as it may, we believe that in the present climate to make such a wild unsubstantiated allegation that we are supporters of the unreconstructed terrorist Mugabe is potentially libellous. Mr. Jenkins (or whatever his real name is) should therefore be careful. Very careful.

OBITUARIES
RAY GRAVELL
Ray Gravell, the Llanelli, Wales and British Lions centre-threequarter who died at a tragically early age of a diabetes-related illness earlier this month, was not only a great rugby player, but was also a great Welshman and a great Briton. He had been prepared to stand up to be counted by taking part in the 1980 British Lions tour to South Africa at a time when it was not considered "politically correct" so to do. His picture featured twice in the second ever edition of S.A.Patriot, where in the accompanying article "Pride of Lions" it was stated: "Ray Gravell, the Welsh centre .... was prepared to put at risk his position in the British civil service by announcing his willingness to tour, though in the end managed to save his job through accepting the set-back of taking unpaid leave." By all accounts Ray Gravell was one of rugby's gentlemen, who off pitch didn't have an enemy in the world. After his playing days were over he carved out a successful new career as a rugby commentator and as an actor, before illness struck him down at a far too young age. Although he took great pride in Welsh culture and traditions he was never a secessionist-nationalist, as his great pride in representing the British Lions well illustrates. All the time that Britain can continue producing men like Ray Gravell then the country has nothing to worry about for the future.

NORMAN MAILER
Norman Mailer, the American author who also died earlier this month, was not only probably the greatest American writer of the twentieth century, but also probably the greatest writer in the English language during the twentieth century. Born to a South African father, Norman Mailer's politics were extremely complex - so complex in fact that it was very difficult to pigeon-hole him. Certainly we would take radical issue with him on a number of issues, but equally we could find ourselves in full agreement with him on a number of other matters. Be this as it may, few can surely doubt that he was the towering literary genius of his age, and it is simply regrettable - and greatly surprising - that he was never awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. He was surely infinitely more worthy of this accolade than many of the nonentities who have been handed this award during recent years.

October 2007 edition
There can have been few if any previous sporting championships where the winning team received less enthusiasm from their home nation than was the case with South Africa's victory in the recent Rugby World Cup.
Most Blacks, of course, are not in the slightest bit interested in Rugby and by all accounts greeted the result with massive indifference. For the ANC hierarchy, however, the so-called Springbok side was far too White for their liking, and in spite of Mbeki and co. milking the beano in Paris for all it was worth they were really seething with anger that even after 13 years in power it was mainly Afrikaners who had given the country its biggest sporting triumph. On the other hand for South African Whites - who are daily confronted with escalating crime, collapse in national infrastructure and threats of hijackings, rapes and murder under the current ANC regime - there was little to celebrate in seeing their team win whilst sucking up to this same terrorist regime.
It seems, however, that the ANC's next move will quickly be forthcoming, and that the World Cup win will prove to be White South Africa's "last hoorah". It has been well reported that a quota system for all national teams similar to those already imposed at provincial and club level will shortly be enforced - and that the Springbok badge and name will have to be dropped in Rugby just as it has already been dropped in all other sports.
As far as we are concerned the sooner the second of these predicted moves comes about the better. It was the late, great Dr. Dannie Craven who asserted that only Whites should be allowed to represent Springbok teams - and he was right. South Africa may be a single piece of geography, but it comprises many nations, and each one of them has the right to their own national teams competing in international competitions - rather than the single mish-mash of the so-called "rainbow nation" which few can take any pride in. Under the ANC regime multi-racial sporting teams are inevitable, so let them play under a new name such as "The Proteas" or some other insipid nomenclature, rather than defiling the historic and much loved Springbok title.
Our movement will then be able to guard and hold in trust the holy Springbok name - guard and hold it in trust until such time as civilised rule is restored in South Africa, when authentic Springbok sides can once more run out onto the field with true pride and honour.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC AND LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE JOINT MEETING
The Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club and the London Swinton Circle joined forces under the banner of the Patriotic Forum last month in order to host a meeting addressed by Mr. Dennis Delderfield, the National Chairman of New Britain.
Mr. Delderfield gave a most enthralling and optimistic speech on the theme of "The Commonwealth" in which he illustrated how the British Commonwealth of nations still provided a viable alternative to EU integration which was full of great potential. He further emphasised how there was still a strong pool of sentiment for closer ties with the UK around the Commonwealth in spite of the fact that so many British politicians seem to have turned their backs on their Commonwealth brother nations over recent decades, and how this sentiment was closely linked to the Royal Family. In addition Mr. Delderfield also gave most encouraging news about the great progress which New Britain has been making over recent months, and how increased support was being obtained even up to the highest levels in the land.
Alas the turnout for this meeting was somewhat lower than had been hoped and expected, which most put down to the fact that it had unfortunately been arranged for the same time as the important England v. Tonga match in the World Cup - but perhaps the fact so many people put taking pride in their national team in front of attending a meeting isn't such a discouraging manifestation! Be this as it may, a number excellent new contacts were made as a result of this meeting, and it is hoped that the SC/ELC and the LSC will be working increasingly closely together with New Britain in the days ahead.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
Alas circumstances have prevented the planned guest of honour for this year's Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club UDI Day celebration buffet, a direct descendant of one of the most prominent original Rhodesian pioneers, from attending this particular event, although it is anticipated that he will still be the SC/ELC's guest of honour at next year's Rhodes & Founders celebration buffet.
Instead we are happy to be able to announce that the guest of honour for this year's UDI Day celebration buffet will be a prominent Rhodesian memorabilia entrepreneur, who will be showing extracts from some of the many inspiring Rhodesian video recordings which his company markets. This buffet will probably take place on Saturday 24th November, but full details will be given in next month's SCN.

SPRINGBBOK CLUB/ELC BRANCH NEWS
The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC is planning an informal pub gathering in the north Kent area sometime during late November/early December. Again full details will be given in next month's SCN.
The London Branch of the SC/ELC is planning a trip to see the finish of the Doggett's Coat & Badge race on the Thames in July/August next year - although it is anticipated that there will be another branch function before then.

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle held a most interesting meeting earlier this month at which the guest speaker was Mr. Tim Akers, the Grassroots Co-ordinator of the Taxpayers' Alliance. Mr. Akers gave a masterful speech in which he illustrated how the general burden of taxation was far too high in the UK, and advocated "flat taxes" as a solution. He also condemned the level of both Government and EU waste, and concluded that it was imperative that the UK left the EU. A strong Atlanticist, Mr.Akers furthermore emphasised how important it was that a grassroots movement in favour of low taxes was built in the UK similar to that in the US.

NEW BRITAIN NEWS
New Britain held a most important pro-Gibraltar meeting in the City of London earlier this month. Alas the planned guest speaker, Mr. Albert Poggio OBE, the official Gibraltar Representative in the UK, was unable to attend this event at the last moment because of an unexpected pressing engagement in his official capacity at the EU in Brussels. Instead, after Mr. Dennis Delderfield the National Chairman of New Britain had said a few words about his own experiences of the Rock, Mr. Alan Harvey, the Organiser/Secretary of the Springbok Club/ELC and current Chairman of the London Swinton Circle, gave an unscripted talk about his own experiences from several visits to Gibraltar, and about its history and constitutional position and development. This speech was extremely well received, particularly for its depth and the fact that it was prepared at such short notice.
New Britain also held their traditional wreath-laying ceremony at Nelson's tomb in St.Paul's Cathedral to mark Trafalgar Day this year, and the following day held a most well-attended Trafalgar Dinner in Weymouth. This was followed by a special Trafalgar Lunch held at the historic Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, at which the after-dinner speaker was Mr. Robert Crouch MVO, who for 12 years had been the official Bargemaster to HM The Queen, a past Master of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen, and winner of the Doggett's Coat & Badge Race in 1958. Mr. Crouch gave a most enthralling address about the history of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen and about the history of the Doggett's Coat & Badge Race in particular, and also explained the close connection between the watermen and lightermen of the Thames and the Royal Navy, especially during Nelson's Day. It was most encouraging to see a large percentage of members and supporters of both the SC/ELC and the LSC at both these events, thus demonstrating the increasing close links between all three patriotic organisations.

ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE REPORT
There is once again a critical shortage of fuel to pump water into the pans for the animals in Hwange (Wankie) National Park which is not surprising in view of the extreme shortage of basic commodities in Zimbabwe. The park needs 20,000 litres of diesel to ensure that there is enough water for the animals to drink during the dry season (August to November) if we are to avoid a repetition of the water crisis of 2005.
We realize that with the enormous difficulties we are experiencing in Zimbabwe at the moment with simple day to day living, most people will not be able to assist the wildlife as they have done in the past, much as they may want to, but if anyone is in a position to help with either fuel or the funds to buy fuel, please contact us. INTERESTING BEELD REPORT
We have recently been sent the following most revealing news report from "Beeld" by a supporter in the Transvaal:-
"The chief of the Ekuhuleni [sic] Metro Police, Robert McBride, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday on charges of drunk driving and
defeating the ends of justice. A source close to the judicial process says that McBride has been informed that he will appear in the Pretoria Regional Court on charges of, among others, drunk driving and defeating the ends of justice, after rolling his official vehicle near Centurion [Verwoerdburg] in December last year.
"'There are other charges as well' the source said, but declined to give details.
"McBride was returning from a metro police year-end function at Oberon resort near Hartebeespoort Dam on December 21 when he rolled his blue Chevrolet Lumina.
"Witnesses told Beeld that McBride had been roaring drunk when they tried to speak to him that same evening.
"He was led away from the scene by Ekurhuleni [sic] Metro Police before any tests were done to determine his blood alcohol level.
"The metro officials also threatened to shoot bystanders if they dared to call the police.
"A decision on whether McBride would be prosecuted was postponed for months while his dossier was passed back and forth between the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the police for further investigation.
"The process was further delayed when three of McBride's confidants, Chief Superintendent Stanley Sagathevan, Chief Inspector Patrick Johnson and Superintendent Itumeleng Koko turned against him in May and released information to the NPA.
"The Star reported recently that all three, who were expected to appear as state witnesses, said in their statements to the NPA on May 30 that McBride had drunk a large amount of whisky at the year-end function. They also said that after the crash, they took McBride to a doctor, a
relative of Sagathevan's, to be examined.
"They later also visited doctors on the East Rand in search of a false doctor's certificate and after visiting an attorney and a pathologist in
Durban, they managed to get a false certificate from a GaRankuwa doctor.
"The three were granted an urgent interdict in court last week to prevent McBride and five others from threatening them."
[It should be remembered, of course, that this same scumbag McBride was convicted of carrying out the terrorist bombing of Magoo's Bar on the Durban beachfront in 1986, when 3 innocents died and scores (including our good friends Keith Hulse and Alan Mountford - whose courageous action in rushing Keith to hospital undoubtedly saved his life) were injured. McBride, furthermore, was the grandson of the notorious Sean McBride, an evil IRA terrorist who fornicated with non-White women and who was instrumental in the UN plan to seize SWA from South Africa and to give it the ridiculous name on "Namibia". Deformed genes certainly seem to run in the McBride bloodstream therefore! From personal experience we can recall the younger McBride inadvertently gate-crashing a Save Rhodesia Campaign meeting at the Cafe Geneve in Durban with his White-trash girlfriend circa 1978, when after being confronted he made a hasty retreat down the stairs uttering some anti-White sentiments as he went. It was good therefore to learn that this filthy terrorist at last seems to be getting his come-uppance! - ed.]

LIBERAL ENLIGHTENMENT
Sir,
Stumbled across your web-site this morning. Reading all the news articles featured is nothing new to me. I live in a suburb of Johannesburg - middle-class, nothing fancy, but comfortable. I would like to tell your readers that the news reports and personal stories portrayed therein are indeed true and there is no exaggeration of facts.
I was brought here in 1980 from the UK by my parents and consider myself South African. I have had three children here in South Africa - and time is running out! We have made the heart-rending decision to leave the country. My husband has been pressuring me since 2001 to leave, but I was a "liberal" and thought all would be good and sorted, but things are bad here and you definitely have to have major "street smarts" to survive in South Africa today. I am tired of it all now and plan to move to a first-world country where I don't have to watch my back at all times and wonder if I am going to be car-jacked everytime I pull in or out of my driveway.
To be honest and fair, there are a lot of good, decent, hard-working people in South Africa of all colours: Black, White, Indians, Coloureds, who just want peace and health and a little bit of money to keep them going. But the criminals who have, literally, this country on its knees are running rampant and unhindered and do as they please.
My children's job prospects are poor in South Africa as they are "Whiteys", and my daughter who is six has the highest chance in the WORLD of being raped, just because of the country we live in!
Good luck, and keep on bringing South African news to the world.

Mr. NICK MAINE
In the April 2004 edition of the SCN we reported how our long-standing friend and supporter Nick Maine from Australia had decided to retire from active politics. This of course was a big disappointment at the time, but it transpired that he intended to continue his political commitment by running an e-mail circulation list, and accordingly added us to this list. Although many of the postings which he circulated were very informative and interesting, they alas also contained quite a number of items of an ultra-defeatist nature, as well as some increasingly objectionable cranky conspiratorial material, so eventually by mutual consent he agreed to remove us from his list.
Shortly prior to this, however, he circulated a posting - complete with gruesome pictures - which read as follows :-
"This girl was chopped up in broad daylight in front of a crowd in Hillbrow , JOHANNESBURG , SOUTH AFRICA May 13, 2007 - A man in his 30s is set to be charged later this week in the shocking beheading of a 21-year-old woman at a mini bus depot in JHB central Monday.
"Stacy Wilson was pulled off a bus and chopped to death by a man police later identified as Samuel. Up to last night , cops here gave no motive for the horrendous murder, which happened before dozens of stunned onlookers.
"Wilson sustained several chops to her body before her head was severed along with her right hand by the machete-wielding Samuel, who held the head for a bit before dropping it.

Most readers will be familiar with the problems which we have been faced with over the years from Mr. Arthur Kemp, a former seemingly close friend of our movement who subsequently turned against us. Kemp currently tries to convey an overtly neo-Nazi image (even now writing for the neo-fascist so-called "British National Party"), though further information which we have received from a number of reliable sources suggests that he is actually working for the ANC regime. A colleague has however informed us about a most interesting article which recently appeared in "The Mail & Guardian" which seems to confirm both Kemp's neo-fascist connections and his links to the South African security services. OBITUARY
PETER WHITELAW
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Peter Whitelaw. Peter was born in Somerset in 1937, and worked in a solicitor's office before gaining a high-ranking position in the administration of the Post Office. A prominent member of the Streatham Constituency Conservative Party, Peter Whitelaw had a zest for life, and was a keen crossword-puzzler. He had been a loyal and dedicated member of both the London Swinton Circle and the Springbok Club/ELC for many years, and will be sorely missed.

There can have been few if any previous sporting championships where the winning team received less enthusiasm from their home nation than was the case with South Africa's victory in the recent Rugby World Cup.
Most Blacks, of course, are not in the slightest bit interested in Rugby and by all accounts greeted the result with massive indifference. For the ANC hierarchy, however, the so-called Springbok side was far too White for their liking, and in spite of Mbeki and co. milking the beano in Paris for all it was worth they were really seething with anger that even after 13 years in power it was mainly Afrikaners who had given the country its biggest sporting triumph. On the other hand for South African Whites - who are daily confronted with escalating crime, collapse in national infrastructure and threats of hijackings, rapes and murder under the current ANC regime - there was little to celebrate in seeing their team win whilst sucking up to this same terrorist regime.
It seems, however, that the ANC's next move will quickly be forthcoming, and that the World Cup win will prove to be White South Africa's "last hoorah". It has been well reported that a quota system for all national teams similar to those already imposed at provincial and club level will shortly be enforced - and that the Springbok badge and name will have to be dropped in Rugby just as it has already been dropped in all other sports.
As far as we are concerned the sooner the second of these predicted moves comes about the better. It was the late, great Dr. Dannie Craven who asserted that only Whites should be allowed to represent Springbok teams - and he was right. South Africa may be a single piece of geography, but it comprises many nations, and each one of them has the right to their own national teams competing in international competitions - rather than the single mish-mash of the so-called "rainbow nation" which few can take any pride in. Under the ANC regime multi-racial sporting teams are inevitable, so let them play under a new name such as "The Proteas" or some other insipid nomenclature, rather than defiling the historic and much loved Springbok title.
Our movement will then be able to guard and hold in trust the holy Springbok name - guard and hold it in trust until such time as civilised rule is restored in South Africa, when authentic Springbok sides can once more run out onto the field with true pride and honour.

SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC AND LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE JOINT MEETING
The Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club and the London Swinton Circle joined forces under the banner of the Patriotic Forum last month in order to host a meeting addressed by Mr. Dennis Delderfield, the National Chairman of New Britain.
Mr. Delderfield gave a most enthralling and optimistic speech on the theme of "The Commonwealth" in which he illustrated how the British Commonwealth of nations still provided a viable alternative to EU integration which was full of great potential. He further emphasised how there was still a strong pool of sentiment for closer ties with the UK around the Commonwealth in spite of the fact that so many British politicians seem to have turned their backs on their Commonwealth brother nations over recent decades, and how this sentiment was closely linked to the Royal Family. In addition Mr. Delderfield also gave most encouraging news about the great progress which New Britain has been making over recent months, and how increased support was being obtained even up to the highest levels in the land.
Alas the turnout for this meeting was somewhat lower than had been hoped and expected, which most put down to the fact that it had unfortunately been arranged for the same time as the important England v. Tonga match in the World Cup - but perhaps the fact so many people put taking pride in their national team in front of attending a meeting isn't such a discouraging manifestation! Be this as it may, a number excellent new contacts were made as a result of this meeting, and it is hoped that the SC/ELC and the LSC will be working increasingly closely together with New Britain in the days ahead.

FUTURE SPRINGBOK CLUB/ELC EVENTS
Alas circumstances have prevented the planned guest of honour for this year's Springbok Club/Empire Loyalist Club UDI Day celebration buffet, a direct descendant of one of the most prominent original Rhodesian pioneers, from attending this particular event, although it is anticipated that he will still be the SC/ELC's guest of honour at next year's Rhodes & Founders celebration buffet.
Instead we are happy to be able to announce that the guest of honour for this year's UDI Day celebration buffet will be a prominent Rhodesian memorabilia entrepreneur, who will be showing extracts from some of the many inspiring Rhodesian video recordings which his company markets. This buffet will probably take place on Saturday 24th November, but full details will be given in next month's SCN.

The Kent Branch of the SC/ELC is planning an informal pub gathering in the north Kent area sometime during late November/early December. Again full details will be given in next month's SCN.
The London Branch of the SC/ELC is planning a trip to see the finish of the Doggett's Coat & Badge race on the Thames in July/August next year - although it is anticipated that there will be another branch function before then.

LONDON SWINTON CIRCLE NEWS
The London Swinton Circle held a most interesting meeting earlier this month at which the guest speaker was Mr. Tim Akers, the Grassroots Co-ordinator of the Taxpayers' Alliance. Mr. Akers gave a masterful speech in which he illustrated how the general burden of taxation was far too high in the UK, and advocated "flat taxes" as a solution. He also condemned the level of both Government and EU waste, and concluded that it was imperative that the UK left the EU. A strong Atlanticist, Mr.Akers furthermore emphasised how important it was that a grassroots movement in favour of low taxes was built in the UK similar to that in the US.

NEW BRITAIN NEWS
New Britain held a most important pro-Gibraltar meeting in the City of London earlier this month. Alas the planned guest speaker, Mr. Albert Poggio OBE, the official Gibraltar Representative in the UK, was unable to attend this event at the last moment because of an unexpected pressing engagement in his official capacity at the EU in Brussels. Instead, after Mr. Dennis Delderfield the National Chairman of New Britain had said a few words about his own experiences of the Rock, Mr. Alan Harvey, the Organiser/Secretary of the Springbok Club/ELC and current Chairman of the London Swinton Circle, gave an unscripted talk about his own experiences from several visits to Gibraltar, and about its history and constitutional position and development. This speech was extremely well received, particularly for its depth and the fact that it was prepared at such short notice.
New Britain also held their traditional wreath-laying ceremony at Nelson's tomb in St.Paul's Cathedral to mark Trafalgar Day this year, and the following day held a most well-attended Trafalgar Dinner in Weymouth. This was followed by a special Trafalgar Lunch held at the historic Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, at which the after-dinner speaker was Mr. Robert Crouch MVO, who for 12 years had been the official Bargemaster to HM The Queen, a past Master of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen, and winner of the Doggett's Coat & Badge Race in 1958. Mr. Crouch gave a most enthralling address about the history of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen and about the history of the Doggett's Coat & Badge Race in particular, and also explained the close connection between the watermen and lightermen of the Thames and the Royal Navy, especially during Nelson's Day. It was most encouraging to see a large percentage of members and supporters of both the SC/ELC and the LSC at both these events, thus demonstrating the increasing close links between all three patriotic organisations.

ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE REPORT
There is once again a critical shortage of fuel to pump water into the pans for the animals in Hwange (Wankie) National Park which is not surprising in view of the extreme shortage of basic commodities in Zimbabwe. The park needs 20,000 litres of diesel to ensure that there is enough water for the animals to drink during the dry season (August to November) if we are to avoid a repetition of the water crisis of 2005.
We realize that with the enormous difficulties we are experiencing in Zimbabwe at the moment with simple day to day living, most people will not be able to assist the wildlife as they have done in the past, much as they may want to, but if anyone is in a position to help with either fuel or the funds to buy fuel, please contact us. INTERESTING BEELD REPORT
We have recently been sent the following most revealing news report from "Beeld" by a supporter in the Transvaal:-
"The chief of the Ekuhuleni [sic] Metro Police, Robert McBride, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday on charges of drunk driving and
defeating the ends of justice. A source close to the judicial process says that McBride has been informed that he will appear in the Pretoria Regional Court on charges of, among others, drunk driving and defeating the ends of justice, after rolling his official vehicle near Centurion [Verwoerdburg] in December last year.
"'There are other charges as well' the source said, but declined to give details.
"McBride was returning from a metro police year-end function at Oberon resort near Hartebeespoort Dam on December 21 when he rolled his blue Chevrolet Lumina.
"Witnesses told Beeld that McBride had been roaring drunk when they tried to speak to him that same evening.
"He was led away from the scene by Ekurhuleni [sic] Metro Police before any tests were done to determine his blood alcohol level.
"The metro officials also threatened to shoot bystanders if they dared to call the police.
"A decision on whether McBride would be prosecuted was postponed for months while his dossier was passed back and forth between the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the police for further investigation.
"The process was further delayed when three of McBride's confidants, Chief Superintendent Stanley Sagathevan, Chief Inspector Patrick Johnson and Superintendent Itumeleng Koko turned against him in May and released information to the NPA.
"The Star reported recently that all three, who were expected to appear as state witnesses, said in their statements to the NPA on May 30 that McBride had drunk a large amount of whisky at the year-end function. They also said that after the crash, they took McBride to a doctor, a
relative of Sagathevan's, to be examined.
"They later also visited doctors on the East Rand in search of a false doctor's certificate and after visiting an attorney and a pathologist in
Durban, they managed to get a false certificate from a GaRankuwa doctor.
"The three were granted an urgent interdict in court last week to prevent McBride and five others from threatening them."
[It should be remembered, of course, that this same scumbag McBride was convicted of carrying out the terrorist bombing of Magoo's Bar on the Durban beachfront in 1986, when 3 innocents died and scores (including our good friends Keith Hulse and Alan Mountford - whose courageous action in rushing Keith to hospital undoubtedly saved his life) were injured. McBride, furthermore, was the grandson of the notorious Sean McBride, an evil IRA terrorist who fornicated with non-White women and who was instrumental in the UN plan to seize SWA from South Africa and to give it the ridiculous name on "Namibia". Deformed genes certainly seem to run in the McBride bloodstream therefore! From personal experience we can recall the younger McBride inadvertently gate-crashing a Save Rhodesia Campaign meeting at the Cafe Geneve in Durban with his White-trash girlfriend circa 1978, when after being confronted he made a hasty retreat down the stairs uttering some anti-White sentiments as he went. It was good therefore to learn that this filthy terrorist at last seems to be getting his come-uppance! - ed.]

Sir,
Stumbled across your web-site this morning. Reading all the news articles featured is nothing new to me. I live in a suburb of Johannesburg - middle-class, nothing fancy, but comfortable. I would like to tell your readers that the news reports and personal stories portrayed therein are indeed true and there is no exaggeration of facts.
I was brought here in 1980 from the UK by my parents and consider myself South African. I have had three children here in South Africa - and time is running out! We have made the heart-rending decision to leave the country. My husband has been pressuring me since 2001 to leave, but I was a "liberal" and thought all would be good and sorted, but things are bad here and you definitely have to have major "street smarts" to survive in South Africa today. I am tired of it all now and plan to move to a first-world country where I don't have to watch my back at all times and wonder if I am going to be car-jacked everytime I pull in or out of my driveway.
To be honest and fair, there are a lot of good, decent, hard-working people in South Africa of all colours: Black, White, Indians, Coloureds, who just want peace and health and a little bit of money to keep them going. But the criminals who have, literally, this country on its knees are running rampant and unhindered and do as they please.
My children's job prospects are poor in South Africa as they are "Whiteys", and my daughter who is six has the highest chance in the WORLD of being raped, just because of the country we live in!

Mr. NICK MAINE
In the April 2004 edition of the SCN we reported how our long-standing friend and supporter Nick Maine from Australia had decided to retire from active politics. This of course was a big disappointment at the time, but it transpired that he intended to continue his political commitment by running an e-mail circulation list, and accordingly added us to this list. Although many of the postings which he circulated were very informative and interesting, they alas also contained quite a number of items of an ultra-defeatist nature, as well as some increasingly objectionable cranky conspiratorial material, so eventually by mutual consent he agreed to remove us from his list.
Shortly prior to this, however, he circulated a posting - complete with gruesome pictures - which read as follows :-
"This girl was chopped up in broad daylight in front of a crowd in Hillbrow , JOHANNESBURG , SOUTH AFRICA May 13, 2007 - A man in his 30s is set to be charged later this week in the shocking beheading of a 21-year-old woman at a mini bus depot in JHB central Monday.
"Stacy Wilson was pulled off a bus and chopped to death by a man police later identified as Samuel. Up to last night , cops here gave no motive for the horrendous murder, which happened before dozens of stunned onlookers.
"Wilson sustained several chops to her body before her head was severed along with her right hand by the machete-wielding Samuel, who held the head for a bit before dropping it.
"He was soon after nabbed by Metro Cops. He is set to be charged following a post mortem on Wilson later this week.
"(Hillbrow had been a high class suburb before Black rule)"
Accepting the bona fides of this report which Mr. Maine had sent we therefore added it to our "Latest News from South Africa" web-page - only to be informed a few weeks later by a reader that this atrocity had not taken place in South Africa, but in Kingstown, St.Vincent! - something which can be confirmed by accessing:-

Needless to say the publication of this erroneous information caused us huge embarrassment, and we apologise to all readers who may have read this report on our web-site and been similarly misled. Mr. Maine is now an old man aged 85, so we will leave it to our readers to judge his motivation for having circulated such a misleading doctored piece of information.

ROGUES GALLERY
Most readers will be familiar with the problems which we have been faced with over the years from Mr. Arthur Kemp, a former seemingly close friend of our movement who subsequently turned against us. Kemp currently tries to convey an overtly neo-Nazi image (even now writing for the neo-fascist so-called "British National Party"), though further information which we have received from a number of reliable sources suggests that he is actually working for the ANC regime. A colleague has however informed us about a most interesting article which recently appeared in "The Mail & Guardian" which seems to confirm both Kemp's neo-fascist connections and his links to the South African security services. OBITUARY
PETER WHITELAW
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Peter Whitelaw. Peter was born in Somerset in 1937, and worked in a solicitor's office before gaining a high-ranking position in the administration of the Post Office. A prominent member of the Streatham Constituency Conservative Party, Peter Whitelaw had a zest for life, and was a keen crossword-puzzler. He had been a loyal and dedicated member of both the London Swinton Circle and the Springbok Club/ELC for many years, and will be sorely missed.

Like all other people with any shred of common decency, we heard the news that a statue of the evil terrorist leader 'Nelson' Mandela was being erected in Parliament Square, London, with outrage and astonishment.
In order to express the feelings of all decent citizens - both British and expatriate South African - regarding this offensive development the Springbok Club circulated the following letter to a number of national newspapers, though unfortunately none of them seem to have published it (such alas appears to be the continuing persuasive influence of 'political correctness') :-
"Dear Sir,
"It was with great anger and disbelief that we read of the unveiling of a statue of Nelson Mandela in Parliament Square.
"Mandela was convicted of terrorist offences in South Africa in 1964 and sentenced to life imprisonment. At a time when the western world is engaged in a War against Terror, and British, American and other Western troops are being killed daily in the fight against international terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is highly offensive in the extreme that a statue 'honouring' this terrorist leader should be erected in London. Mandela's ANC has been responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent people of all races both prior to and after being handed power in South Africa - over 2100 innocents have been slaughtered in terrorist-type attacks on South African farms alone since the ANC regime gained control of the country in 1994.
"We therefore call for the immediate removal of this offensive statue, and for its replacement by a memorial honouring the victims of international terrorism and those who risk their lives combating this evil.
"Yours sincerely,
"The Executive Committee of the Springbok Club"
It was significant in this regard that Britain's new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, saw fit to praise and 'honour' the convicted terrorist Mandela personally. How utterly hypocritical therefore that just a few weeks later Brown should lambaste Mandela's brother southern African terrorist leader Robert Mugabe and to state that he would refuse to attend an international conference in Lisbon if Mugabe was present. Mandela and Mugabe are of course like two peas in a pod. They both only gained power by means of terror and violent intimidation, and once they obtained control of their respective countries they both presided over descents into primeval savagery and lawlessness. To praise Mandela but to condemn Mugabe, as Brown has done, is rather like saying that Ronnie Kray was a jolly good fellow but that Reggie Kray was an evil rogue.
Our condemnation of both Mandela and Mugabe has nothing to do with the colour of their skin. Our revulsion towards White terrorists such as Adams and McGuinness is just as strong.
With the growing rejection of 'political correctness' around the Western world we believe that it won't be too long before this hideous statue to the terrorist Mandela is dismantled - and hope that the resulting scrap metal may be put to far better use in the manufacture of weapons to fight against the curse of international terrorism!

Mr. Delderfield is the National Chairman of New Britain, and editor of the New Britain magazine. He was for 18 years a Common Councilman of the City of London, and is editor of The City of London & Dockland Times, the City of London's "local paper". He is a tireless and highly respected patriotic activist, and among other events which he has organised this year have been activities to celebrate Australia, New Zealand and Canada Days, the first annual Goldsmith Lecture (in memory of Sir James Goldsmith) addressed by Lord Tebbit, and a challenge bowls match on Plymouth Hoe with the Lord Mayor of Plymouth on the anniversary of Sir Francis Drake's famous victory over the Spanish Armada. As well as talking about the importance of the Commonwealth as a viable and far preferable alternative to the EU, Mr. Delderfield will also be reporting on the successes of the New Britain activities staged so far this year, as well as plans and details regarding their forthcoming events.

ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE REPORT
Since 2001 we have been collecting information from private game ranches around Zimbabwe. The information we have been endeavouring to obtain from individual game farms is:-
Wildlife populations prior to the land invasions, broken down into species.
Number of animals killed during land invasions, broken down into species.
Last known populations.
Number of snares recovered.
Length of fencing stolen.
Of the 62 farms studied, 59 reported wildlife losses of 42,236.
33 of the 62 farms reported removing a total of 155,204 snares.
8 of the 62 farms reported a total of 931km of fencing stolen to make wire snares.
This is not to say that the other farms didn't find snares or have any fencing stolen. All of them reported finding snares and having fencing stolen but many of them didn't keep records.
In order to estimate the percentage of wildlife lost on private game ranches, we chose 17 of the 62 farms studied. We chose the farms that had kept proper records and supplied us with the most up to date statistics. In the cases where the last information received was in 2002 or 2003, we used the statistics only when most of the wildlife had been wiped out by then because if we had been able to obtain more recent figures, they would have been much the same at best. We based the estimations on the fact that we believe there were 620 private game farms prior to the land invasions and according to our records, there are only 14 left today.
The total population of wildlife on the 17 farms prior to the land invasions was 16,772, an average of 986 animals per farm. If this figure is extrapolated out to 620 farms, we estimate that there were 611,320 animals on private game ranches prior to the land reform.
The total number of animals lost on the 17 farms between 2000 and 2007 was 15,704, an average of 923 animals per farm. If there are only 14 game farms left, it can reasonably be assumed that the 606 game farms that were confiscated suffered heavy losses. If the average loss figure is extrapolated out to 606 farms, we estimate that the total losses amount to 559,338 animals. This is a loss of 91% on private game ranches only.
We took conservancies separately, over and above the private game ranches. According to our records, there were 15 conservancies prior to the land reform and now, the only one left of any consequence is Save Valley Conservancy.
We obtained the following information regarding wildlife losses on conservancies:-
Debshan Estates had 17,394 animals in 2002. By Dec. 2002, they had lost 8955, a percentage of 51. We have had no figures from them since 2002.
Gourlays Ranch had 6348 animals in 2000 and by Dec. 2006, they had lost 6050, a percentage of 95. Amongst the animals slaughtered were 24 black rhino.
Gwaai Valley Conservancy reported a loss of 80% of their wildlife by June 2002.
Chipizi Ranch reported 100% loss by 2003.
Bembezi Safaris reported 100% loss.
Save Conservancy had 13,370 animals in 2000 and by June 2002, they had lost 4718, a percentage of 35.
In the absence of further information, we based our estimates on these 6 conservancies. The average percentage of animals lost is 76.
The average percentage of wildlife lost on the private game ranches and conservancies together is therefore estimated to be 83.
We have not been able to obtain figures on animals lost in National Parks so if we conservatively estimate that only 10% has been lost, this brings the loss over the whole country to 59%. In view of the fact that since the collapse of the economy, National Parks has not been in a position to carry out anti-poaching patrols effectively, we don't believe that 10% is an unreasonable estimation.
Although the wildlife is still fairly abundant in Hwange National Park and Mana Pools, we receive regular reports from tourists that they are very lucky to spot any game in Gonarezhou and Chisarira.
We are not claiming to "know" how much wildlife has been lost. We have just tried to make the most accurate estimate possible with very limited data to work with. If anyone has reason to believe we have overestimated the losses, we would be very grateful for further information so we can update or correct our records.

INTERESTING COMMENTS FROM CLIFF SAUNDERS
Many readers will undoubtedly remember Cliff Saunders, the leading SABC news presenter from the 1980s. Although not without his detractors, Saunders conducted a remarkable interview with PW Botha shortly before his death, which sinisterly SABC reneged from broadcasting. We carry below extracts from a most revealing letter which Saunders recently wrote to "The Star" newspaper of Johannesburg:-
"Dear Sirs,
"Your Editorial: 'It's time to own up, FW' refers.
"Your demand that FW de Klerk should now accept 'responsibility for his role' in perpetuating what you call 'this country's Dark Ages' is silly, if not ridiculous. Should the joint holder of the Nobel Peace Prize now suddenly come to the fore and admit to bearing responsible for the atrocities of the apartheid era it's logical that he should also condemn the presentation of the Peace Prize to him as a 'mistake and a farce' and distance himself from the event. He will not! After all to have a 'perpetrator of atrocities' holding such a prestigious Prize would be to disgrace the entire idea behind Nobel's initiative and ruin FW's carefully nurtured image.
"Rather I would prefer hearing FW de Klerk and the likes of Pik Botha apologising to the Whites of this country for the role they played in engineering a switch-over of government whereby the new ANC government rapidly replaced 'racist apartheid' benefiting the Whites with 'racist affirmative action' benefiting the Blacks. We were promised a non-racist society!
"As for the reference to PW Botha as a 'lost cause, a dinosaur coddled in senility' - such a remark can come only from a person who has not seen the last interviews with PW Botha which are now out in the public domain (under copyright!) via DVD and VHS recordings. 'Senile' PW was not! Would SABC have offered R200,000 for the English interview alone had they regarded him as a 'senile dinosaur' incapable of coherent thought and speech?
"PW Botha displayed remarkable clarity of mind and memory and analysis during his two-hour-long interviews in English and Afrikaans - and it is that which the ANC wishes to keep from the public domain.

You have probably heard about the strike goings on here? Not good, but a 6.5% increment is ridiculous and 12% is too high to meet. We are living in frightening times with this sort of threat and with the increase in crime - didn't know it could get worse. This Saturday we are actually joining a "March for Peace". We have been asked to wear black, and if you have been effected by crime to wear flowers, or something on your sleeve to show in what way you were effected. The latest modus operandi by thieves is to rob and attack people in restaurants. A week ago 7 Blacks went into the St.Tropez restaurant, assaulted and robbed the staff, then onto the customers. They went upstairs to continue the raid and apparently there was a sound of breaking glass from downstairs, so the robbers starting shooting. Someone had just arrived to celebrate a double 30th birthday with a large table of family and friends, but was shot dead while walking up the stairs, and two others received serious wounds. Since then there have been a couple more restaurant robberies with patrons held up. We have had shops hit in malls etc, and it happens a lot in the Johannesburg area I understand. It's extremely worrying. Truthfully, this place is fast approaching Zimbabwe status - I just want to GO.

I recently read information regarding the disgusting waste of £400,000 on a 9 foot statue to Nelson Mandela. When Britons are "existing on fresh air" it is disgusting to have a statue in Parliament Square to a man who was convicted of terrorism - why not one to Pol Pot as well? Let £400,000 be spent on British people who need it, and not statues to Nelson Mandela. Let the politicians behind it just resign.

ROGUES GALLERY
The following report appeared on the BBC News web-site of 17th August :-
"An MEP for South-East England has been convicted of 21 charges of fraud. Ashley Mote, 71, had started claiming income support and benefits after his business collapsed. But Portsmouth Crown Court heard he had failed to notify the authorities when he began earning money again and had received thousands in benefits. The father of two was elected in 2004 as a member of UKIP which threw him out when they discovered the charges. He then served as an independent MEP. Mote was found guilty of eight charges of false accounting, eight of obtaining a money transfer by deception, four of evading liability and one of failing to notify a change of circumstances. The four-week trial heard Mote ran a successful business which collapsed during the exchange rate mechanism crisis on Black Wednesday in 1992. He then began to claim income support, housing benefits and council tax benefits but failed to notify the benefits agency when he began earning money through various enterprises including spread betting on currency markets. Yet between February 1996 and September 2002 he received £73,000 in benefits. The court heard he used this money to pay off credit card debts which he had run up funding an 'extravagant lifestyle' such as restaurant dinners, private health care and holidays to the US, France and the Caribbean. Responding to the verdict, UKIP leader Nigel Farage said in a statement 'We are pleased that finally justice has been done. Mr Mote lied to UKIP on his application form to be an MEP candidate. If we had discovered just 48 hours earlier that this case was pending he would never have been elected an MEP. Subsequent to our discovering the truth Mr Mote was immediately removed from the party and never took his seat as a UKIP MEP. UKIP and the voters of the south-east have been defrauded for three years by Mr Mote'. A UKIP spokeswoman said the party would be contacting the European Parliament on Monday to clarify whether Mote now faces an automatic ban as an MEP after being found guilty of a criminal offence. She said 'We want him disqualified as an MEP'."
Mr. Mote has in the past spoken at London Swinton Circle meetings, though on the most recent occasion this met with the extreme displeasure of several LSC members who were also UKIP members, who were incensed by the fact that, although elected to the EU Parliament on a UKIP ticket, he had subsequently been stripped of the UKIP whip once it was discovered that he hadn't revealed the truth about his forthcoming criminal prosecution, and yet had refused to do the honourable thing by resigning his seat so that another authentic UKIP candidate could take his place. Furthermore, it seems as if Mr. Mote had been using certain provisions of the EU - which he claims to be totally opposed to - in order to safeguard his own position in the EU Parliament and to attempt to escape from prosecution.
Following the withdrawal of the UKIP whip Mr.Mote joined the "Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty" group in the EU Parliament (widely perceived to be neo-fascist in outlook), and rumours persist that he has sought nomination from the neo-fascist so-called "British National Party" (BNP) for the next EU elections. It is also interesting to note that although Mr.Mote has been happy to speak on LSC platforms in the past he has also apparently enjoyed close relations with the so-called "Conservative Democratic Alliance", an obscure outfit which for long has been waging an irrational and inexplicable hate campaign against certain leading officials of the LSC on their web-site discussion forum (see SCNs passim).
Needless to say, Mr.Mote is highly unlikely ever to be invited to address the LSC again!
Meanwhile the September 2007 edition of the anti-fascist journal "Searchlight" revealed that young Mr.Arthur Kemp - who is believed to be in close contact with the so-called CDA outfit (see "The Plot Thickens", August 2007 SCN) - has been handed the BNP’s "Excalibur merchandise outlet" (whatever that might be) and put in charge of their ideological training of 'voting members' (whoever they might be!) as part of a plan to build a new elite within the party loyal to the present leadership of a certain Mr.Nick Griffin. All we can say is that from what we know about Mr.Kemp and what we have heard about Mr.Griffin they are welcome to each other!
Finally, in the "Rogues Gallery" column of the March 2007 edition of the SCN we revealed how the American-based publication "Juluka", which claimed to be a magazine for the expatriate South African community, was in actual fact nothing more than a toadying rag for the ANC terrorist regime. Subsequent to this we have received a circular from this "Juluka" outfit in which they openly advertise the so-called "Home-Coming Revolution", which is widely believed to be merely a front for the ANC regime's pathetic attempts to persuade Whites to return to the murder and mayhem which is the "new" South Africa! Surely something to be avoided like the plague!

OBITUARY
VICE-ADMIRAL SIR IAN McGEOCH
It was with much sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Vice-Admiral Sir Ian McGeoch, aged 93. Sir Ian enjoyed a distinguished career in the submarine service of the Royal Navy during WWII, gaining the DSO for his exploits when as commander of HMS Splendid he sank two enemy destroyers and two enemy anti-submarine vessels. Although subsequently captured by the Germans his subsequent escapes became the stuff which legends are based upon. He continued his RN service after he conclusion of WWII, rising to the rank of Vice Admiral. After retirement he pursued an academic career but retained a strong interest in all things nautical, becoming editor of "The Naval Review". He was also a strong "Empire man", and expressed great support for the aims and objectives of the new Empire Loyalist Club - though alas his advanced age prevented him from any active involvement. Our sincerest condolences are extended to his wife Somers and the rest of his family.

September 2007 edition
Like all other people with any shred of common decency, we heard the news that a statue of the evil terrorist leader 'Nelson' Mandela was being erected in Parliament Square, London, with outrage and astonishment.
In order to express the feelings of all decent citizens - both British and expatriate South African - regarding this offensive development the Springbok Club circulated the following letter to a number of national newspapers, though unfortunately none of them seem to have published it (such alas appears to be the continuing persuasive influence of 'political correctness') :-
"Dear Sir,
"It was with great anger and disbelief that we read of the unveiling of a statue of Nelson Mandela in Parliament Square.
"Mandela was convicted of terrorist offences in South Africa in 1964 and sentenced to life imprisonment. At a time when the western world is engaged in a War against Terror, and British, American and other Western troops are being killed daily in the fight against international terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is highly offensive in the extreme that a statue 'honouring' this terrorist leader should be erected in London. Mandela's ANC has been responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent people of all races both prior to and after being handed power in South Africa - over 2100 innocents have been slaughtered in terrorist-type attacks on South African farms alone since the ANC regime gained control of the country in 1994.
"We therefore call for the immediate removal of this offensive statue, and for its replacement by a memorial honouring the victims of international terrorism and those who risk their lives combating this evil.

It was significant in this regard that Britain's new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, saw fit to praise and 'honour' the convicted terrorist Mandela personally. How utterly hypocritical therefore that just a few weeks later Brown should lambaste Mandela's brother southern African terrorist leader Robert Mugabe and to state that he would refuse to attend an international conference in Lisbon if Mugabe was present. Mandela and Mugabe are of course like two peas in a pod. They both only gained power by means of terror and violent intimidation, and once they obtained control of their respective countries they both presided over descents into primeval savagery and lawlessness. To praise Mandela but to condemn Mugabe, as Brown has done, is rather like saying that Ronnie Kray was a jolly good fellow but that Reggie Kray was an evil rogue.
Our condemnation of both Mandela and Mugabe has nothing to do with the colour of their skin. Our revulsion towards White terrorists such as Adams and McGuinness is just as strong.
With the growing rejection of 'political correctness' around the Western world we believe that it won't be too long before this hideous statue to the terrorist Mandela is dismantled - and hope that the resulting scrap metal may be put to far better use in the manufacture of weapons to fight against the curse of international terrorism!

ZIMBABWE CONSERVATION TASK FORCE REPORT
Since 2001 we have been collecting information from private game ranches around Zimbabwe. The information we have been endeavouring to obtain from individual game farms is:-
Wildlife populations prior to the land invasions, broken down into species.
Number of animals killed during land invasions, broken down into species.
Last known populations.
Number of snares recovered.
Length of fencing stolen.
Of the 62 farms studied, 59 reported wildlife losses of 42,236.
33 of the 62 farms reported removing a total of 155,204 snares.
8 of the 62 farms reported a total of 931km of fencing stolen to make wire snares.
This is not to say that the other farms didn't find snares or have any fencing stolen. All of them reported finding snares and having fencing stolen but many of them didn't keep records.
In order to estimate the percentage of wildlife lost on private game ranches, we chose 17 of the 62 farms studied. We chose the farms that had kept proper records and supplied us with the most up to date statistics. In the cases where the last information received was in 2002 or 2003, we used the statistics only when most of the wildlife had been wiped out by then because if we had been able to obtain more recent figures, they would have been much the same at best. We based the estimations on the fact that we believe there were 620 private game farms prior to the land invasions and according to our records, there are only 14 left today.
The total population of wildlife on the 17 farms prior to the land invasions was 16,772, an average of 986 animals per farm. If this figure is extrapolated out to 620 farms, we estimate that there were 611,320 animals on private game ranches prior to the land reform.
The total number of animals lost on the 17 farms between 2000 and 2007 was 15,704, an average of 923 animals per farm. If there are only 14 game farms left, it can reasonably be assumed that the 606 game farms that were confiscated suffered heavy losses. If the average loss figure is extrapolated out to 606 farms, we estimate that the total losses amount to 559,338 animals. This is a loss of 91% on private game ranches only.
We took conservancies separately, over and above the private game ranches. According to our records, there were 15 conservancies prior to the land reform and now, the only one left of any consequence is Save Valley Conservancy.
We obtained the following information regarding wildlife losses on conservancies:-
Debshan Estates had 17,394 animals in 2002. By Dec. 2002, they had lost 8955, a percentage of 51. We have had no figures from them since 2002.
Gourlays Ranch had 6348 animals in 2000 and by Dec. 2006, they had lost 6050, a percentage of 95. Amongst the animals slaughtered were 24 black rhino.
Gwaai Valley Conservancy reported a loss of 80% of their wildlife by June 2002.
Chipizi Ranch reported 100% loss by 2003.
Bembezi Safaris reported 100% loss.
Save Conservancy had 13,370 animals in 2000 and by June 2002, they had lost 4718, a percentage of 35.
In the absence of further information, we based our estimates on these 6 conservancies. The average percentage of animals lost is 76.
The average percentage of wildlife lost on the private game ranches and conservancies together is therefore estimated to be 83.
We have not been able to obtain figures on animals lost in National Parks so if we conservatively estimate that only 10% has been lost, this brings the loss over the whole country to 59%. In view of the fact that since the collapse of the economy, National Parks has not been in a position to carry out anti-poaching patrols effectively, we don't believe that 10% is an unreasonable estimation.
Although the wildlife is still fairly abundant in Hwange National Park and Mana Pools, we receive regular reports from tourists that they are very lucky to spot any game in Gonarezhou and Chisarira.
We are not claiming to "know" how much wildlife has been lost. We have just tried to make the most accurate estimate possible with very limited data to work with. If anyone has reason to believe we have overestimated the losses, we would be very grateful for further information so we can update or correct our records.

INTERESTING COMMENTS FROM CLIFF SAUNDERS
Many readers will undoubtedly remember Cliff Saunders, the leading SABC news presenter from the 1980s. Although not without his detractors, Saunders conducted a remarkable interview with PW Botha shortly before his death, which sinisterly SABC reneged from broadcasting. We carry below extracts from a most revealing letter which Saunders recently wrote to "The Star" newspaper of Johannesburg:-
"Dear Sirs,
"Your Editorial: 'It's time to own up, FW' refers.
"Your demand that FW de Klerk should now accept 'responsibility for his role' in perpetuating what you call 'this country's Dark Ages' is silly, if not ridiculous. Should the joint holder of the Nobel Peace Prize now suddenly come to the fore and admit to bearing responsible for the atrocities of the apartheid era it's logical that he should also condemn the presentation of the Peace Prize to him as a 'mistake and a farce' and distance himself from the event. He will not! After all to have a 'perpetrator of atrocities' holding such a prestigious Prize would be to disgrace the entire idea behind Nobel's initiative and ruin FW's carefully nurtured image.
"Rather I would prefer hearing FW de Klerk and the likes of Pik Botha apologising to the Whites of this country for the role they played in engineering a switch-over of government whereby the new ANC government rapidly replaced 'racist apartheid' benefiting the Whites with 'racist affirmative action' benefiting the Blacks. We were promised a non-racist society!
"As for the reference to PW Botha as a 'lost cause, a dinosaur coddled in senility' - such a remark can come only from a person who has not seen the last interviews with PW Botha which are now out in the public domain (under copyright!) via DVD and VHS recordings. Sir,
You have probably heard about the strike goings on here? Not good, but a 6.5% increment is ridiculous and 12% is too high to meet. We are living in frightening times with this sort of threat and with the increase in crime - didn't know it could get worse. This Saturday we are actually joining a "March for Peace". We have been asked to wear black, and if you have been effected by crime to wear flowers, or something on your sleeve to show in what way you were effected. The latest modus operandi by thieves is to rob and attack people in restaurants. A week ago 7 Blacks went into the St.Tropez restaurant, assaulted and robbed the staff, then onto the customers. They went upstairs to continue the raid and apparently there was a sound of breaking glass from downstairs, so the robbers starting shooting. Someone had just arrived to celebrate a double 30th birthday with a large table of family and friends, but was shot dead while walking up the stairs, and two others received serious wounds. Since then there have been a couple more restaurant robberies with patrons held up. We have had shops hit in malls etc, and it happens a lot in the Johannesburg area I understand. It's extremely worrying. Truthfully, this place is fast approaching Zimbabwe status - I just want to GO.

I recently read information regarding the disgusting waste of £400,000 on a 9 foot statue to Nelson Mandela. When Britons are "existing on fresh air" it is disgusting to have a statue in Parliament Square to a man who was convicted of terrorism - why not one to Pol Pot as well? Let £400,000 be spent on British people who need it, and not statues to Nelson Mandela. Let the politicians behind it just resign.

ROGUES GALLERY
The following report appeared on the BBC News web-site of 17th August :-
"An MEP for South-East England has been convicted of 21 charges of fraud. Ashley Mote, 71, had started claiming income support and benefits after his business collapsed. But Portsmouth Crown Court heard he had failed to notify the authorities when he began earning money again and had received thousands in benefits. The father of two was elected in 2004 as a member of UKIP which threw him out when they discovered the charges. He then served as an independent MEP. Mote was found guilty of eight charges of false accounting, eight of obtaining a money transfer by deception, four of evading liability and one of failing to notify a change of circumstances. The four-week trial heard Mote ran a successful business which collapsed during the exchange rate mechanism crisis on Black Wednesday in 1992. He then began to claim income support, housing benefits and council tax benefits but failed to notify the benefits agency when he began earning money through various enterprises including spread betting on currency markets. Yet between February 1996 and September 2002 he received £73,000 in benefits. The court heard he used this money to pay off credit card debts which he had run up funding an 'extravagant lifestyle' such as restaurant dinners, private health care and holidays to the US, France and the Caribbean. Responding to the verdict, UKIP leader Nigel Farage said in a statement 'We are pleased that finally justice has been done. Mr Mote lied to UKIP on his application form to be an MEP candidate. If we had discovered just 48 hours earlier that this case was pending he would never have been elected an MEP. Subsequent to our discovering the truth Mr Mote was immediately removed from the party and never took his seat as a UKIP MEP. UKIP and the voters of the south-east have been defrauded for three years by Mr Mote'. A UKIP spokeswoman said the party would be contacting the European Parliament on Monday to clarify whether Mote now faces an automatic ban as an MEP after being found guilty of a criminal offence. She said 'We want him disqualified as an MEP'."
Mr. Mote has in the past spoken at London Swinton Circle meetings, though on the most recent occasion this met with the extreme displeasure of several LSC members who were also UKIP members, who were incensed by the fact that, although elected to the EU Parliament on a UKIP ticket, he had subsequently been stripped of the UKIP whip once it was discovered that he hadn't revealed the truth about his forthcoming criminal prosecution, and yet had refused to do the honourable thing by resigning his seat so that another authentic UKIP candidate could take his place. Furthermore, it seems as if Mr. Mote had been using certain provisions of the EU - which he claims to be totally opposed to - in order to safeguard his own position in the EU Parliament and to attempt to escape from prosecution.
Following the withdrawal of the UKIP whip Mr.Mote joined the "Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty" group in the EU Parliament (widely perceived to be neo-fascist in outlook), and rumours persist that he has sought nomination from the neo-fascist so-called "British National Party" (BNP) for the next EU elections. It is also interesting to note that although Mr.Mote has been happy to speak on LSC platforms in the past he has also apparently enjoyed close relations with the so-called "Conservative Democratic Alliance", an obscure outfit which for long has been waging an irrational and inexplicable hate campaign against certain leading officials of the LSC on their web-site discussion forum (see SCNs passim).
Needless to say, Mr.Mote is highly unlikely ever to be invited to address the LSC again!
Meanwhile the September 2007 edition of the anti-fascist journal "Searchlight" revealed that young Mr.Arthur Kemp - who is believed to be in close contact with the so-called CDA outfit (see "The Plot Thickens", August 2007 SCN) - has been handed the BNP’s "Excalibur merchandise outlet" (whatever that might be) and put in charge of their ideological training of 'voting members' (whoever they might be!) as part of a plan to build a new elite within the party loyal to the present leadership of a certain Mr.Nick Griffin. All we can say is that from what we know about Mr.Kemp and what we have heard about Mr.Griffin they are welcome to each other!
Finally, in the "Rogues Gallery" column of the March 2007 edition of the SCN we revealed how the American-based publication "Juluka", which claimed to be a magazine for the expatriate South African community, was in actual fact nothing more than a toadying rag for the ANC terrorist regime. Subsequent to this we have received a circular from this "Juluka" outfit in which they openly advertise the so-called "Home-Coming Revolution", which is widely believed to be merely a front for the ANC regime's pathetic attempts to persuade Whites to return to the murder and mayhem which is the "new" South Africa! Surely something to be avoided like the plague!

OBITUARY
VICE-ADMIRAL SIR IAN McGEOCH
It was with much sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Vice-Admiral Sir Ian McGeoch, aged 93. Sir Ian enjoyed a distinguished career in the submarine service of the Royal Navy during WWII, gaining the DSO for his exploits when as commander of HMS Splendid he sank two enemy destroyers and two enemy anti-submarine vessels. Although subsequently captured by the Germans his subsequent escapes became the stuff which legends are based upon. He continued his RN service after he conclusion of WWII, rising to the rank of Vice Admiral. After retirement he pursued an academic career but retained a strong interest in all things nautical, becoming editor of "The Naval Review". He was also a strong "Empire man", and expressed great support for the aims and objectives of the new Empire Loyalist Club - though alas his advanced age prevented him from any active involvement. Our sincerest condolences are extended to his wife Somers and the rest of his family.
