September 2001 Edition.

September 2001 edition

Perhaps the most ignominious event to occur in South Africa since the collapse of civilised rule has been the staging of the United Nation's so-called "World Conference against Racism" in Durban.

Of course in reality this event was nothing more than a huge beano for all the assorted delegates, and the ridiculous motions which were passed were mere platitudes which were both meaningless and had no legal standing whatsoever. Even so, however, it was an excuse for the ANC-assembled parasites and free-loaders to issue predictable diatribes against the White race in general, and the Jewish people in particular.
The calls for "reparations" to be made to the third world by Western nations was nothing less than a crude attempt at moral-blackmail, and was happily vetoed by the US delegation (though this probably would not have been the case under the previous Clinton administration). The hypocrisy of this demand was sickening however. Slavery was abolished in the West almost two centuries ago, yet it still exists today in certain Arab and African states. Furthermore it was the African tribal leaders who actually sold their captive minions into slavery - so if "reparations" are to be demanded then they should come from African leaders themselves!

The anti-Israeli rhetoric was equally nausiating. This wasn't surprising in view of Israel's close and mutually-beneficial relationship with the previous civilised administration in South Africa, and of course Israel now fights almost alone on the West's frontline against the expansionist non-White hoardes. (As a sidetrack, we wonder how the anti-Semitic paranoids - who assert without proof that the ANC is somehow "controlled by Jews" - can worm their way out of this fact!).

But why was the city of Durban chosen as the venue for this despicable gathering? Could it be because Durban was the leading centre for resistance against the NP government's sellout policies during the 1980s, with such organisations as the Patriotic Forum, the Civic Action League - and S.A.Patriot magazine - being founded in the city? Did the new regime therefore deliberately want to desecrate the city in some way? If so then we must work harder than ever to restore the reputation of the city which we love.

S.A.Patriot of course survives in the form of S.A.Patriot-in-Exile - but only just. We haven't been able to publish for almost two years now, and the reason for this is solely the lack of funds. What better way of getting revenge for the staging of this wretched conference in Durban than by helping S.A.Patriot-in-Exile to publish again as soon as possible. All contributions should of course be sent to: Patriotic Press, BCM SAPAT, London WC1N 3XX, UK. (Donations in Rand should be made payable to "N.Lamprecht", and in all other currencies to "Patriotic Press").

The Chilterns Branch of the Springbok Club was successfully inaugurated at a most picturesque setting in Amersham on Saturday 24th August.

Although the attendance was sadly rather lower than expected (no doubt due to clashes with other events that day, and unfortunate rail disruptions in the area), it did even so prove to be a most happy and fruitful meeting. The Springbok Club now therefore has three functioning branches in the UK.

Our thanks, of course, to SC Treasurer Dave Williams and to Mike Woodbridge for organising this event.

As part of our summer of activities around the UK, the Springbok Club will be staging a “Lincolnshire Weekend” from Friday 21st September to Sunday 23rd September.

This gathering will be held at The Old Coach House, Church Lane, North Kyme, Lincolnshire, which is situated on the A153, about 12 miles south/south-east of Lincoln. For those who would like to join us for the entire weekend accommodation at this fully licenced and beautifully refurbished old Georgian House (dating back to 1760) can be arranged for only £34.00 per head per night bed & breakfast. There are still a few vacancies left, so if anyone is interested in staying overnight please let us know as soon as possible by emailing: We hope that other supporters living in the Lincolnshire area will also be able to come along to join us during this weekend however - either on the evening of Friday 21st September and/or during the afternoon and evening of Saturday 22nd September.

This event may well provide us with the opportunity of founding a Lincolnshire Branch of the Springbok Club. We will also be welcoming a very special guest of honour - the editor of prominent national magazine - who will be saying a few keynote words, and who will also be willing to answer questions and to discuss matters of relevant national and international importance.

All three established SC branches are planning to hold get-togethers during October. SC Chairman Peter Fisher will be staging a Hampshire Branch gathering on Saturday 20th October at a venue still to be arranged, Tony Waller will be organising a Kent Branch get-together in Herne Bay, and the newly-inaugurated Chilterns Branch will be holding another gathering in Amersham on dates still to be finalised. Needless to say full details will be carried in the next edition of the SCN.

The next national SC meeting will be held at the Morpeth Arms, 58 Millbank, Westminster, London SW1 on Friday 26th October (19.15 hrs for 19.45 hrs) when we will be honoured to welcome as our guest speaker Jill Baker, the former RTV presenter and announcer, who will be touring the UK at the time in order to publicise her recent biography about her father - an early Rhodesian colonial pioneer - entitled "Beloved African".

The SC will once again be staging a UDI Day Dinner this year. It will be held at a club in central London on Saturday 10th November, and we hope to welcome some very prominent guests of honour. If you are interested in attending please let us know as soon as possible.

SC Australian Co-ordinator Adrian Alexander has now acquired a dedicated email address for SC activities. It is: and all contacts concerning Australian SC events and developments should be made via this address. Adrian is also in the process of appointing SC representatives in several Australian states, and indeed Nick Maine has already been appointed Queensland representative.

A new SC supporter from Vienna is also very keen to establish a SC structure in Austria. We already have a number of supporters in that country, so if you - or anyone who you know - lives there and would be interested in becoming involved please let us know.

We have also recently acquired quite a few new supporters living in Dorset, so it is therefore very possible that we will be able to establish a branch in that county shortly.

In the August 2001 edition of the SCN we made mention of the wildlife books written by Rob Burnett, but unfortunately gave one of the web-site addresses incorrectly. It was for the "Authors-on-line" web-site, and should have read:-

Once in this site simply type the word "Burnett" in the "Search for authors, title or subject" box.

The latest MDC Solidarity Campaign protest demonstration outside the Zimbabwe High Commission was a good success, with several hundred people in attendance, including sizeable contingents from the Springbok Club, Rhodesians Worldwide and the Rhodesian Army Association. Bizarrely there were once again a number of people present displaying the ZANU/PF national flag, which at a protest against Mugabe's tyranny seemed somewhat strange - to say the least! On a more positive note, however, there were some excellent placards on display, including ones reading :-

The next MDC Solidarity Campaign protest will be staged on Saturday 6th October 2001, between 12.00 hrs and 14.00 hrs. Although this was originally planned for Trafalgar Square, it has now been re-scheduled to take place once again outside the Zimbabwe High Commission, 429 Strand Street, London WC2 (nearest tube stations: Charing Cross and Embankment).

As mentioned in the August 2001 edition of the SCN, a series of protest demonstrations took place around the world on Friday 24th August against the seemingly orchestrated campaign of murder and robbery in South Africa (particularly that initiated against White farmers), in what was declared a "Day of Mourning".
Although we have not received any specific reports from other parts of the world, we do know that an effective protest was staged outside the South African High Commission in Trafalgar Square, London, that day, which was organised by Malcolm Wren.

We therefore extend our full support and congratulations to Malcolm for managing to stage such a impressive protest with such limited resources, and we look forward to co-operating with him more closely in this regard in the days to come.

Charles Muller writes with details of a recent collection of short stories which he has published as follows:-
Groete! Just to let you know about the recent publication of four collections of short stories, many about "post-Apartheid South Africa" by Roy Holland - a friend and ex-colleague of mine (we were both Professors of English: Roy at the University of Venda, while I was Head of the Dept of English at the University of the North in Turfloop). I have had the privilege of being instrumental in publishing these collections through the Writers Club Press in America. Roy has portrayed the true situation in South Africa with impartiality. The books might be seen on my website at  (from which there are direct links to on-line bookstores such as and from which the books may be purchased), while Pivot of Violence, perhaps the most relevant collection, might be seen at:-

"Reaction!" is an excellent new 4-page monthly newsletter which covers a broad spectrum of issues (popular culture, lifestyle, family issues, history, folklore, politics and more), and which provides a link between groups who are fighting for traditional British values.

It is edited by Russell White, and priced at only 20p per issue. Copies can by ordered by post, in which case two 2nd class stamps should be sent for each edition required. Orders should be sent to:-

We have recently received the following anonymous request for flight information:-

"We would like some information about one way flights to Jo'burg this October/November. Cheepness is the major factor in this. I hope you can help us.

Could you please send info to:"

[This anonymous message actually came from another email address,, and we would suggest that if anybody can help these people they email both addresses.]

Jill Baker, who of course will be addressing the October Springbok Club meeting in London, has recently sent us the following most revealing article which she has written, based on her experiences as an RTV/ZBC newsreader :-

It was a light news night in February 1983. The wait between the 7’45 and the 10’00 bulletins seemed unending in the lonely corridors of the ZBC television studios.
"What is the reason behind all the shouting of Aluta Continua?" I asked my fellow newsreader. Zanu-PF had been in government for almost two years – and I was interested to know why the struggle continued.

After much prevarication during which I stressed that I needed to know what we were struggling for if I was to be any use to the new Zimbabwe, he said:

"We must have absolute power." I felt my heart stop. Calming my immediate panic at hearing that phrase said with such conviction, I asked him to define it.

"When the people are on their knees begging for a handful of mealie-meal and you are the only one who can give it."

People laughed at me when I told them in 1983. Despite the, now acknowledged, rigging of the election, they were golden days – the economy was strong, the horrors of the gukurahunde (the wholesale murder of tens of thousands of Ndebele people during a so-called state of emergency) had not yet reached the public ear, Black and White were re-discovering each other as friends and workmates.

People laughed at me. Fanciful, they said. Never happen, they said.

But I had seen his eyes. I knew that was what he, and his party and his leader, at the time Prime Minister, wanted. It was my own personal decision point to leave a country I loved almost more than life itself.

For ten years afterwards, I questioned our decision as I battled with a new country – and more than that, with the anguish of leaving the old.

But today, I see with the dread cold of certainty, that the steps taken since the referendum in February last year are merely putting the final pieces of the puzzle in place to allow that to happen.

The situation today is absolutely contrived to achieve absolute power.

In February last year, when President Mugabe realised he no longer held public affection, added to the fact that the sending of troops to the Congo was causing him unacceptable pressure, the time had come to put his final plan in place.

First create a situation in which starvation can exist, for what could be seen, through prevailing anti-colonialism wisdoms, as a justifiable push to return land to its original occupants. Stop the country being a nett supplier of food and the breadbasket of Central Africa.

Then remove any form of criticism or opposition and make sure that journalists report from outside the country where they do not get the full picture. In that way, they will not report that an estimated 300 people are losing their jobs on farms, for every one family settled.

When it is obvious to all, including the ruling party, that the country is on the verge of starvation, prohibit the private sale of grain and take over the Grain Marketing Board (GMB).

In this way, you can ensure that when the world starts sending in food aid, the vehicle through which it will be distributed is in ‘capable’ government hands. Hands, which will decide who is toeing the line and who is not - who will get fed and who will not.

Last week, Renson Gasela, MP for Gweru Rural, called for the immediate resignation of Joseph Made – the man who acts both as the Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement and who, having fired the GMB, has taken over as Chief Executive Officer.

He attacked the President’s speech for its silence on the food shortage and asked Joseph Made to repeal the regulations making the GMB the sole buyer of maize.

For the word ‘buyer’ – read also distributor.

Wake up Zimbabwe. Wake up, the world which cares about these things. The gukurahunde is recognised for the murder of 30,000 of the Matabele people in the south of the country - those of us there at the time would place that number much higher. But it will be nothing in the light of what awaits the country today.

This is not a racist fight - unfortunately, Whites get the publicity because they are easier to identify and create the right headlines. But the whites are the very visible tip of a massive iceberg of torture, rape, assault and dispossession of the Black people who dare to stand against this tyrant. They must have our support.

Zimbabwe does not have months to wait for the ratification of the Zimbabwe Democracy Bill through the US Congress – absolute power is only weeks away. For there is no greater disciplining force in world history, than starvation.

This new "green" and environmentally friendly web-site, designed by ex-Rhodesian John Allman now based in York, is to help people re-cycle items which they no longer use or want. The idea is that others in your community will visit the site, see useful items, and claim them. No money changes hands, all transactions are free, although you have to make your own arrangements to collect the items you want. If you see something you want, just claim it. No mailings will be used for commercial purposes.

Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage has been in existence for the last 28 years, during which time it has been subjected to many trials and tribulations - of which Zimbabwe has had many to offer. As we all know these problems have been numerous, yet through all these problems they have managed to keep going.

They now need help however. In the last three months the price of fuel has risen by 70%. Electricity at the Orphanage was around $8000 per month, but has now progressively risen to over $70000 per month. Despite these huge increases their workload never stops, in the last two weeks they have received three cheetah, two honey badgers and one brown hyena directly as a result of the recent farm invasions, which is threatening wildlife on a daily basis.

They are now looking for friends to adopt some of the numerous animals under their care, and to circulate this appeal as widely as possible. Their web-site, which as well as illustrating the work they are doing also gives details on how animals can be adopted, can be accessed at:-

Ivy Bazley is very keen to re-make contact with with an old colleague, Terry Kempson, who she believes is now in the UK somewhere, possibly South Wales. She writes:-

Terry lived in Selous Street in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1976/77; I'm fairly sure he was in Jo'burg in 1991. He used to work for Tyre Treads in 1976, and also ran a mobile disco during 1976 called "Terr[a]y's Mobile Disco". He used to drive a white MGB, though he sold that at the end of 1976. He was from the UK originally, and was in the British Army before going to Rhodesia. He would be around 60-ish now, give or take a year or two.   He was called up - in a letter I got from him in Aug 1977 he said he had been 'transferred into the 8th Battalion Rhodesia Regiment, "B" coy'. He's quite a character - a bit of a rogue - if you've met him, love him or hate him, you won't forget him!

No.35 :  Mr. Terry Kempson of Salisbury.

[If anyone can help Ivy in this regard please contact her direct at:]

Reg Watson runs the "Anglo-Keltic Society", a Tasmanian-founded heritage group. He is also currently very active as the Tasmanian Representative of the "Australian National Flag Association", which is doing excellent work by publicising and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Australian national flag. Christiaan Barnard, who died last week, performed the world's first human cardiac transplant operation at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. By so doing he proved that South Africa was then an advanced first world nation, at the cutting-edge of scientific advance.

In spite of the ANC-regime's attempt to "claim him" he was clearly a product and example of the former South Africa. Since the collapse of civilised rule he rarely lived in the country, and indeed died whilst staying in Cyprus.

Although more of a playboy than a politician (and what is wrong with that?) his political stance was basically to the right of centre. Despite the fact that his brother Marius was a PFP MP (though clearly on the "patriotic prog" wing of the party) his own sydicated newspaper columns were often so right-wing in content that it was often joked that he was about to join the HNP!

His death is a great loss to the world, but his life will always illustrate and confirm the heights to which the South African nation once rose.

Finally, if you would prefer to be deleted from our "Springbok" mailing list then simply send us an e-mail with the word "unsubscribe" in it. Alternatively, if you liked this Cyber-Newsletter and think that any of your friends would like it also, then please let us have details of their e-mail addresses!
See you again next month!
